Uses it all the time
Infinity aimed high and combined VOIP line, cell phone and mail in one app. Essentially, it takes most if the functions available on the website account page and brings them onto the device for easy access. The ability to use my VOIP phone easily from my cell phone is a great feature. I can answer and make calls over either line, adding the great features of the VOIP line to my mobile device. Not sure why so many bad reviews as I have had few issues. Some issues are simply the current state of technology. The app is loaded with function. I have a long experience with ATT and Xfinity soars over their heads. The app stores the data on the cloud so if you install the app on another device, as soon as you log in, all your data is there. One feature I love is the ability to use the unlimited international calls available on my old land line number which is now VOIP, from the convenience of my iPhone. If you need or have a land line/VOIP line, Xfinity's international calls to major countries are unlimited! That's a big deal in my home with a lot of relatives and friends abroad. Haven't had any major issues with the app and it's kept up to date. Summery--you don't have to use this app to enjoy Xfinity, but it adds great value.
Used to be mediocre, now it’s pathetic!!!
Originally this app was just ok; but over the past year or so has steadily gotten worse and worse, to the point where it is now unusable. The only reason I got it in the first place was to use instead of Apple Mail so that Mail wouldn’t take up so much storage space on my iPad and iPhone (you know, the “ghost storage” in Apple Mail that doesn’t go away even though you delete your emails and empty trash folder; and the only way to get rid of it is to delete the Mail app and reinstall. If you don’t it will eventually use up most of the storage on your device - ridiculous that Apple doesn’t address this!)
At any rate, I was driven to this Xfinity Connect app by that issue. For the first couple of years it was at least useable. Now it only works maybe 20-30% of the time and it has never maintained my contacts. I’m having all of the same issues others are reporting and I just can’t take it anymore! Comcast is doing NOTHING to address all the problems and their only “repeated and very tired fix” is to delete and reinstall the app which NEVER works. Shame on you, Comcast! This has the potential of being a very good app if you would only fix all of the problems. Guess we’ll never know what that would be like! This app is now bad enough that I’m having to go back to Apple Mail, even knowing that I’ll have to regularly delete and reinstall it in order to keep the size of it down. I’m thoroughly disgusted with Comcast!
Extremely bad service and worse customer service
I had to upgrade my modem to add voice service which cost more and the internet is now slower than with the older modem, but I’m paying more on top of the extra fees for the actual voice service. Then I opted in to try the Voice2Go feature and now my home phone doesn’t work at all. It just rings and when I answer the phone there is a dead silence. There is no way the consumer can turn this feature off within the app, it says to log into the website. If you can navigate thru that poorly laid-out site, you will find that the remove button for the Voice2Go feature is not a button but just a word. You have to call in and get ahold of an agent whom will always have a middle eastern accent and won’t have any idea what you are saying but if they did they wouldn’t know how to help you either. Every time you call in, expect to be on the phone for 2 hours or more, then expect for the call to be dropped multiple times. Don’t get upset, it’s just something they do and will call you back. Until they just don’t care anymore n give up. Don’t expect them to continue with the job until finished either after they hang up on you even tho you may have been waiting on the phone for over an hour already. They won’t do it. And expect Covid to be their number 1 excuse for having the crappy service they have always had. I can’t even use my phone but they keep charging me for it!
I want to like this app. It sounds like a great product that would allow you to utilize your xfinity communication services all in one place without having to connect to Apple Mail or be near your home phone. However, it rarely works and has not worked as designed for over a year. It sends notifications about emails and phone calls received, but when I tap the notification the server is never able to retrieve the email and I am never able to answer a call from the app. In order to use the email function I have to force close the app EVERY time I want to use it, sometimes even during the same email checking session. It is also the same anytime I open the Connect app without having had a notification. If it has been running in the background it will not work without being force closed. As for the telephone portion, I have only been able to look at missed calls. The app will not answer calls or dial out. The voicemail does work well as does the speech to text feature. I keep waiting for this app to improve functionality, but am surprised at how long that it has taken. I’ve tried various quick fixes that typically work with malfunctioning apps, such as, deleting and reinstalling, but they have not helped.
Does not work well across devices
I use Connect all the time as my home email app for my Comcast email, both on iPhone and iPad. Being able to answer the house phone on my devices is sometimes very convenient.
Just now I took some photos with my iPhone to send via email. I prefer typing on the iPad so I wrote the email on it. The photos show up on the iPad via the iCloud in the Photos app. But when I went to attach them to the email, they were available.
I went back to the Photos app and moved the pics into a new album. In Connect, I could see the album but not the Photos! I checked the Drafts folder in Connect on my iPhone and the draft was not there! So I had to send two separate emails, one with the text and one with the photos. I even had to retype the email address! Annoying.

Comcast has been with me for over 11 yrs, they are kind of high in cost but good thing is they always have offers going on and not always you have to be a new customer to take advantage of the offers, my internet is so good I’d be embarrassed to compare it to any other specially AT&T, I love my tv program I don’t have the phone anymore because had it sitting there for yrs with no use, I used to let my neighbor friend use it to call Mexico even that is awesome cause it is so expensive to reach out for family in Mexico other phone company’s or mobile company charge so mu they don’t have enough time to say good bye, 😢 as for my tv programming I love ❤️ it I get what I like to watch and not to mention I can record so so much.. Love ❤️ my comcast..Customer service is very good in resolving issues in that 1st call, and they have a 2 hr window for a tech visit or you get a 20$ credit on your account, if you have to call again for the same issue and tech comes out again you get a 20$ credit for reoccurring issues...
0 stars USELESS APP (DELETED)
Well it worked for a little bit and now yet again it won’t retrieve my email. It keeps telling me there is “no wireless connection detected”. This is so pathetic because every other app I have that uses the internet or a wireless connection works just fine. I have given up on ever using this app and I can get access to my mail through apples mail app. Just a suggestion, if your going to have an app that is supposed to be for reading your emails, it really should work or you need to take it down. This app is honestly useless an it can’t even retrieve your emails. I deleted the app and tried to reinstall and now it just hangs on the getting started page and won’t even let me log into my account. Truly pathetic. Once again this app in being deleted permanently. Get your act together and stop releasing new updates that don’t address the problems your consumers are having with your App. I have read many that have the exact same problem and I am using a fairy new iPad Pro with the current iOS up to date.
I can't even get my email to show up after the current update. It keeps telling me there is no connection. But I pop over to macs mail app and there are all my emails. It’s a truly pathetic app.
Only way to receive emails on Apple Products
By Ali's cat
Very appreciative to have access to email via the Connect App. Due to “bugs” with the operating system on my Apple products (Smart Phone, Lap Top & Tablet), the Connect App is the only way I can receive and send emails via Comcast which; I should add, is the primary email address utilized for correspondence. If I send emails from my phone, I have to utilize an iCloud account. If this App wasn’t available, I would not be able to receive or reply to messages sent to my Comcast account. I have tried multiple troubleshooting methods to fix the Apple bug to no avail. Glad I have this “work around.” The only feature I would like to see added is the following: When I send correspondence outside of the App (i.e. sending feedback or questions within online forms), I can not access the correspondence in the “Sent” folder in the App. The only “sent” emails that can be accessed must originate directly from the Connect App. If that can be fixed it would be perfect.
COMMENTS ABOUT XFINITY
I have had Comcast - Xfinity for 17 years and love it. There has been a few problems lately with the system running slower than before but I understand. With everyone at home and kids are doing school work and adults are working from home too. If I have a problem there is always someone to help me whether by text or phone. Since the staff works from home too, the calls heavier because of the pandemic. If you call you may have very long waits but you can get a callback when it’s your turn in line instead of waiting on the phone. I also know how to update my modem if there is a problem and most times it works. Like this morning, it didn’t work so I call 1-800-xfinity and the system that picks up you can say update modem and you have to wait 10 minutes after the system send you the start of the update. After that it worked. You just have to be a little patient now days because there is so much going on in the US & THE WORLD as a whole.
So far I have all Comcast apps...working great but lately giving some trouble with emails loading and opening this just started about month ago only sometimes gives me trouble not all the time but other then that Easy to to pay my bill check my account and check to see that all my devices are working I love using the xfinity Hot spots app where I work not able to get free Wi-Fi but there are plenty hots spots near me we don’t have unlimited internet on our cell phones I like to listen to music at work so it works perfectly for me every app will have it good and bad but I think they are always trying to improve and make better be patient and just let them know where improvements are needed be kind they are creating these apps to help make our lives easier might not be perfect at first but sure over time things will get better my husband and I have been long time customers of Comcast we have been though many changes with them but we are truly happy with what they have done over the years
