  • yucky but good customer service

    totally gross. there was mold on the AC unit, the lampshade literally fell off overnight on its own, there was water dripping in on the windowsill (idk if it was leaking or just too humid but it was nasty), and the carpet was moist as well - i thought it was nice at first like "they must have JUST shampooed the carpets" but no.... on top of that, the ice machine was broken on our floor and there was no room service or housekeeping - we were there for 5 days and had to request fresh linens and one of the towels HAD A BLACK CURLY HAIR STUCK ON IT. and to top it off, the people next door kept BANGING (like.... banging......) alll Day and night. just overall bad. like that scene from jurassic park when the water is vibrating because the t. rex is coming? THAT LEGIT HAPPENED. had to call and complain so many times.... even banged back on the wall once and the guy next door banged back so bad it was scary.... anyway we had to cut our trip short and they refunded us for 3 of the 5 days which was nice, and the girl at the front desk was SUPER sweet (and so was the guy!!!) but the place itself was nasty. would not recommend. ever.
  • Yelp is a joke

    I’ve submitted this review several times for it to seemingly not end up in the reviews for this app. Yet they let reviews for stores and restaurants appear in the reviews for the Yelp app. So, basically unless honesty is being blocked in favor of an editors pick. Yelp is a pointless waste of time. 9 or 10 years ago I signed up and enjoyed writing reviews of my fave places and a few bad experiences, but almost all positive or constructive. After years of posting reviews and pictures and becoming the duke of a few places I noticed yelp started to change. Fake reviews or revenge seekers or petty nonsense reputation smear type reviews. So long story short. I hadn’t checked into my account for about 6 months mainly due to the virus drama the world is going through, but recently I log in to find all my reviews and pictures and contacts gone from my now wiped clean blank profile. Why? Idk it’s absolutely lame and goes to show you that you can’t trust Yelp for honest reviews and legit insights. My suggestion avoid yelp completely. It’s full of shill fake reviews and nothing about it is trustworthy anymore.

    I accompanied my daughter to a Scheduled SELF GUIDED tour for one bedroom at 2pm. At 2:06pm received call from Angelica noting the time as past scheduled time. As we pulled into complex at 2:10pm and during conversation with Angelica, she inquired anticipated move on date, which was already provided as April, upon which she stated that they do not do tours beyond 60 days from move out date. We noted that the date was previously provided and we were not informed of this limitation prior to making the appt and driving 30 minutes to appt. Angelica then reiterated that although not previously informed of above mentioned policy that it was required due to COVID that they not show any apartments beyond 60 days out. She then stated that we could reschedule for January. Upon which we reiterated that resulting no a wasted trip, to which she put us on hold for five minutes returning to note that they would make an exception this time. Fortunately, my daughter opted not to lease from this complex. The behavior and curt attitude of Angelica speaks volumes to the management at the complex which we could only surmise would result in a horrible tenancy experience.
  • Complications of a phone order

    I like the food at this restaurant. I have a credit card on file to make phone orders easy. Today, however, I was disgusted. I gave my order, the person taking the order was very difficult to understand, spoke poor English and spoke very sloppy, as though he were on a street corner trying to be cool. He asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of my credit card number, something I’ve never been asked to do. I said I was driving and would have to give him the number when I arrived to pick up the order. He said he needed the number in order to complete the order. I repeated that I couldn’t get to my credit card that minute and would confirm the numbers upon arrival. He said he would have to start the order over at that time. I said forget it, cancel the order. I’ve never been treated this way at this restaurant before, and won’t be going back, considering this is the kind of employee they are now hiring.
  • Bookmarks & contact us are broken

    Yelp no longer has the ability to contact them through the app, it used to be an option buried deep in the support section but it’s no longer there. Wouldn’t be a big issue but with their latest update the bookmark map no longer lists the names of the businesses - it’s just a map with a bunch of bookmark locators but you can never see what business it is after clicking on the locator. I would’ve sent a support ticket request for this issue but without a way to contact them the only way to provide feedback is to give them a 1-star review and complain here. I encourage others to do the same until they fix these issues.
  • Good but could use improvements

    Still my preferred app to check out restaurants. A couple of suggestions. I like that people can check in. It would make more sense if there was an option to geographically base the check ins. Say for example you go a business trip and there was an awesome restaurant you visited but couldn't remember what the name was or where it was located. While you remembered to check in, it was roughly about 3 years ago. You have to spend several minutes scrolling and scrolling through your saved check ins to find the general timeframe of when you went there. More often than not, I will skip over it and it just leads to frustration. Make check ins more useful. The same repetitive questions keep coming up. For attire, answering either casual or formal would generally suffice. I don't think people filter places specifically looking for a divvy or hipster venue. I think one of the more useful things you could add is average wait time and harness the database of loyal users. If you could ask if wait time is less than 5 min, less than 30 min, or greater than an hour for walk ins, that would help users prioritize their list of possible selections. Hope these suggestions make it to the next update.
  • Automatic opening of app- STOP

    UPDATE: Nothing has changed. I give the app a chance by clicking on a link in safari, knowing I will be redirected. I don’t get redirected to what I was previously reading. This is so ridiculous and tiresome. Clearly y’all don’t want people to use your site. ******* I am so tired of you guys forcing me to use this app while I am browsing on safari. It should be an option we can turn off. And if it's not offered, you do a great job of hiding the ball and making people search to figure it out. My use of this app is a choice. If I want to visit the website, I should not be forced to interact with the app. I thought you would have addressed this by now but nope. One star for tone deafness and really messed up advertising. Also: If you're going to force people to open the app when using safari and looking at the mobile site, make sure it works and people are actually directed to the site they were looking at on safari.
  • They keep making their bookmarks feature worse and worse

    Who is in charge of this design? I use the bookmarks feature extensively and it has only gotten worse. Now in order to see my bookmarks on the app, I have to select “more” from the menu at the bottom, then select “bookmarks” which doesn’t actually take you to your bookmarks but to the collections feature which is pretty useless IMO and then click “bookmarks”. Fine I’ve lived with that since the last bad update but now you have no way of seeing whether the restaurant is open or closed without having to click on the individual business. You can’t see it from the list or the map anymore at all and it makes bookmarks so much less useful on the fly. I was hoping they would add a feature to show bookmarks by “open now” like you can with the search function but instead they crippled the function even more. This is a huge step backwards
  • Needs to prioritize reviews better

    It doesn't make sense that even for places with hundreds of reviews, the app lists reviews in random order... You might see a six month old review on top, followed by one from five years ago, then one from last week, etc. This makes it harder to tell if a place with overall good ratings has gone downhill recently, or if a place with overall bad ones has started improving. About the only way I can see this seemingly random order making sense is when a business suddenly gets a bunch of mostly good or bad reviews due to sketchy reasons - but that likely doesn't happen often. One other comment... I know people complain about how businesses can pay to get listed first, but the app makes it obvious by showing the "ad" symbol etc. and Yelp has to make money somehow.
  • Worst Business Decision EVER

    I’ve been in business for 13 years and never used any advertising to gain new clients from the internet or traditional advertising methods. I get new clients from referrals from current clients. I thought I’d join YELP just to have an online presence. Since that decision 1 month ago, I’ve been promised help with my business listing by Valentina my customer service rep at YELP (never happened). I have received 9 calls from other sites trying to get me to pay money to get my business listing to the top of a google search. I’ve also been charged $118 by YELP but Im not sure why. Valentina assured me I had a $300 credit to give my company exposure. (Randomly put my business at the top of the page when searching for my category of service) When I emailed Valentina, my customer service rep at YELP about the charge, she said she had no idea why I was charged and suggested I contact YELP billing. BOTTOM LINE: Dony join YELP for advertising, it’s a scam!
