Get ready to be obsessed and frustrated at the same time!

Love love love this game! This has seriously got me hooked and I have already downloaded the rest to play. A friend told me about it (not this one) and I had to look into it! When I beat the first one, I was so glad to learn there were a ton more! However, the OCD in me made me mad at my friend for telling me to play the birthday one first. (Wth dude) Anyway. I got my SO to download it as well and we tried to see who could beat it first. It was not easy and some parts I got faster than him but there was some he’d get faster than me. So fun and we couldn’t put the game down!! I don’t want to say too much as to not give anything away but if you love escape rooms, this is for you!!!!

    Hooked!

Usually I don’t play on my phone for these kinds of game because of their lack of story, mystery , care and it’s usually very boring. However, this Rusty Lake Cube Escape is AMAZING! The oddness, mysterious murders and mystery you have to solve got me loving it and addicted to it! I installed all the free ones and they were not disappointed but in fact interesting, intriguing and very well done. I love the fact that they are all connected as one big story. I might have played it in different order but I didn’t care much because they were all terrific and AWESOME! This is one of the best game I’ve played in a long time. Hope to see more of their progress and work.

    ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Undoubtedly the best escape game I've ever played (and I've played a lot of escape games)!! I cannot get over just how beautifully designed this series is! I've never even written a review until this game, it is that good! If I was you I would get both in the series then give yourself adequate time (I don't remember how long it took to play them I found them in the middle of the night started playing instantly lost track of time and didn't stop playing until I was done) get comfy start playing and enjoy!!! Oh and they've also got a creepy side which you really don't expect at first uhh they are so good I won't say any more!! Have fun!!!

    Fun cubed!

This was my first Rusty Lake game, and the reviews were right- it’s truly worth playing. It has a nicely creepy atmosphere, the puzzles are challenging but intuitive, and even the music was worth a listen. My only problem was (maybe because I’m not familiar with this dev yet) I wasn’t sure at first if I’d finished the game or not, but a glance at the walkthrough and I quickly understood that there was obviously more to do, and then it all made sense. Actually a pretty clever idea, with some outside the cube thinking. Given this terrific first venture, I’ll likely be playing the rest of them, too. I’ve read that they get even better. Yay!😃

    Superb!

I started with Paradox so in comparison, this one isn’t quite as good. I got frustrated a couple times and had to use the walkthrough (which I never did in Paradox). I don’t think it was harder, maybe just a little less intuitive or something. For example, because the graphics aren’t quite as good, I had no idea that that pink thing was an egg holder, which became a problem haha. Overall though this is definitely still a 5 star game! So challenging and genuinely scary at times too! Thanks for making such cool games for free (ignore the ad complainers or at least give them the option to buy out of the ads)

    Brilliant Series and FREE!!

I have played four of these today so far, I think there are ten escape ones plus the Rusty Lake games. Search online for the best order to play them. All the Cube Escape series are free too, which is just nuts! This one has some ads but the other ones so far have been completely ad free. These go beyond your normal escape room games. You really feel like a boss when you figure out the next move. And the art is fantastic. The world they’ve created is so creepy and the story while minimal is intriguing. I am so happy I discovered these games and I will be purchasing the longer Rusty Lake series games soon.

    Unbelievable

There is a reason there are no critical reviews. This was unbelievable to be a free game. Really good even if it wasn't free. But what was so interesting was that it was unexpectedly good. An escape puzzle game, but with a legitimate (and scary) story. The graphics were basic, yet so much more involved than the other "room escape" games. I wouldn't even put it in the same category as them, as this was so much more than just "can you escape?". It even had multiple rooms that were all interconnected. Pretty awesome, and now I'm going to start the next one (there's 8 as of now).

    Super creepy and beautiful!

Again, one of the best horror/escape games I've played! I played the previous one "Cube Escape: The Lake", and I thought that one was fantastic! But this one is even better and even more creepy! It is so suspenseful because you never know what's lurking in the room when you click on objects! And has a physiological, horror aspect to it that is so unique compared to other escape games out there. And be warned, there are a lot of jump scares and sudden, loud music! But that just adds to the fun and beauty of it! Its beautiful and disturbing, with challenges, and constant scare!

First venture into the Rusty Lake experience, I'm hooked

I've played most of the big titles in the escape/adventure genre and looking for a new twist on the genre This game certainly fit the bill and I have to applaud the developers for such tight, well thought out execution and showing off a truly unique sensibility. Even though the horror aspect isn't totally my jam, the story arc and suspense are completely captivating. I keep wondering what the orchestral piece is that plays on the radio??? Looks like I'll be moving on through the rest of the series...

    First of many awesome games

I’ve actually played these a bit out of order because I found them in 2021, and so this original one is not the first that comes up in searches anymore. The game play seems to get better and better, though I do highly recommend starting with this one if you haven’t already played the other Rusty Lake cube escape games. The interactivity is slightly limited on this game vs the newer ones, so I found it easier to navigate and learn the style of game play. Great game!

    Confusing Plot

I love this game. I have played the first three, and they are all worth 5 stars. However, I am still a little confused about the plot and story of the second and third ones. The best I can understand is the main characters are insane and are that dark shadow thing. The first one made everything make sense by (spoiler alert) showing how you are your own worst enemy, are the murderer, and in a crazy house. Besides that, I love this game and would recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge

    Keep them coming!

Another awesome Rusty Lake adventure! Thank you for making them inventive, dark, addictive, and entertaining. When I start one, I can’t put it down until I finish. I’m glad you have the you tube walk throughs, though I try not to use them, you do get stuck sometimes. I prefer logic t o trial and error and most of the puzzles can be logic’d. Thank you, I can’t wait for another one. I wish you would do more after quests, like in roots, I really enjoyed going back for more!

    Beautiful game/ ugly bugs

I cannot explain in words how great this game is. Amazing plot and very intriguing. However... there are a LOT of bugs/glitches. It truly is disappointing to go through reviews from 2016 until now and seeing people repetitively mention the bugs that make certain levels impossible to pass, yet nobody seems to be doing anything about it? SPOILER: (for instance) Several people have said that they were not able to stab Harvey with the knife to receive the picture piece. Though I never had that problem, I did come across something else. I’ve placed all the liquids in the fuel tanks in the correct order, turned them on but was not able to pull the lever. Also, i tried to delete the app and re download but for some reason was not able to. Anyways, the game and story itself is breathtaking. I’d urge anyone to look into the Cube Escape series. I just wish the creators, or whoever, would simply fix the issues.

Interesting but very weird and frustrating

This was first game I've played of the Cube Escape series. It was interesting but for the most part the puzzles make no sense whatsoever so it was pretty frustrating to play. I like puzzle games but these puzzles were so weird and nonsensical I don't know how anyone could figure out what they're supposed to do next. Needless to say, I relied heavily on walkthroughs. I played Paradox next and it was much better, imo. Also, the extremely stripped down controls made for a more frustrating experience. So play Seasons if you want another piece of the rusty lake story, but prepare to be frustrated (and still not have much of a clue as to what the hell it's all about afterwards).
