    A good case of fun

These cube escapes just keep getting better. Case 23, with its 4 chapters, combines several elements from the previous four games. Each scenario is so unique, I feel like I’ve actually played four games in one. I don’t always understand the exact logic of the storyline, but the characters and actions are so horrifically captivating that I find myself smiling as I wonder what bizarrely gross thing will be jumping out at me next. And the puzzles are simply fun to solve; not every item’s implementation always makes complete sense, but there always seems to be a strangely intuitive logic about their use. I was a little put off at first by the fourth chapter’s timer, but a few passes paying specific attention to individual parts and I managed to get it with a surprising level of satisfaction. These cube escape games are absolutely some of the uniquely best ones I’ve played, an even bigger feat considering how little space they take up. I can’t wait to see what weird twist comes in the next installment.😁

    Ah-MAY-zing!!!

This is a great series. Challenging, smart, thoughtful, creepy, ironic, fun, intriguing-I could go on & on here. Get the entire series - it has a surreal story line yet it makes total sense. It is very immersive-once you start playing you really get sucked into this somewhat bizarre world. There is a stark quality of loneliness to this series yet, it too, works by creating this foreboding atmosphere where pretty much anything can happen. When I see developers like this, I want to shake their hands and say thank you. Games like these acknowledge that some of us have a brain in our head and actually want to use it. Puzzles require very out of the box (or should I say Cube!) thinking. They are definitely not the same old, tired puzzles that other developers hash out, over and over again. The story with it's creepy atmosphere and somewhat lost, lonely characters speak to our fears AND our hearts giving us a very nicely multilayered game series. THANK YOU and keep 'em coming!

    It Brings the games together

Case 23 definitely brings a whole lot more story into the mix of these games. I have been playing there games in order (plus paradox) and so far (other than paradox) this one is my favorite. On top of the storyline I also was very pleased by the mechanics and altogether design of this game even if it might have seemed a bit easier than others. But my favorite part of this is *(((spoiler)))* the thrill of the last chapter. Even though I am one who really enjoys horror this honestly made me panic because I honestly was always just to slow. Which is sadly something a lot of games don’t bring. But I could totally understand if this is not one’s cup of tea.

    Amazing game

Wow, just wow. I’ve never written a review before but this series deserves one. I started off playing “Samsara Room” during quarantine and after I beat it, I looked up more of Rusty Lakes games. I found the cube escape series and have been playing them in order. The detail in these games amaze me and it’s so fun to see everything connected in someway. As someone who enjoys scary games and such, I can say this is an enjoyable series. Case 23 actually made be jump the most! (But in a good way.) Props to the creators and I shall enjoy playing the rest of the series.

    Blown away!!!

This is so far the most amazing and engrossing series of games I've played on my phone. This particular installment sees it all come together what came before! The tone is so beautiful. The music and art. The puzzles are genuinely difficult without being annoying. The world of these rooms continually pushes the boundaries of the surreal. It is so eerie and just... just so well done. And free!? I would gladly pay for these and buy them for as long as they are released.

    Awesome games, these cube games!

Clever, challenging, inventive, puzzles with an intriguing story that's unsettling in the best way. Great games, and free, too! Thank you! Only one thing on this one.... I could have done without the timed part. Timed games just make me nervous which isn't my idea of fun. Couldn't have done it without an online walkthrough I found. But still great. Now I'm off to number six and then I guess I'll just have to be patient and hope for more.

Emotional roller coaster in a good way! 👍

This series is so well done, and so different. Entertaining, unpredictable, surprising fun with a horror edge. All five games released so far play very well with no glitches. Did not like the timed ending on this one, but it's doable after a few tries. Be sure to support the true devs by downloading only LoyaltyGame versions, there have been a few knockoffs which were quickly removed thanks to swift action by the LoyaltyGame folks :)

    Awesome games!

I’ve played all of these games in chronological order. The free ones are short, the chapters you have to pay for are much longer. They’re worth purchasing. Do yourself a favor if you like creepy, interesting puzzle games. Buy and download all of the chapters, Google the chronological order of these games, and play them in order. I can’t wait for more chapters to be released!

Great chapter in the cube escape series!!

I loved this chapter in the series. It rivaled seasons in complexity and sense of dread. I didn't mind the timed section at the end because you can keep playing until you get it right. You can still take your time figuring it all out. I actually curled into a ball on my couch while completing part four because I was scared!! Thanks for making a great experience!!

    The best so far.

Case 23 is the best Cube Escape so far. It has different levels like Seasons did but it’s more interactive and has new additions such as the limited time. It was difficult in some areas but not too difficult to get through. The storyline was amazing as usual but the fact that there was a little backstory on the player was a very nice touch. Fantastic job.

    Amazing

Definitely one of my favorite mobile games ever, but the slide puzzle was terrible lol. The best part at least for me was chapter 4, I loved that you brought it back to the lake. The game also just gives a feeling of dread and that you know something bad will or has already happened, like in seasons. I recommend this to anyone and everyone.

    Fascinating Plot but...

I loved the first three rooms of this game. They were clever and extremely well-designed and creepy. Rusty Lake has become one of my favorite game series because of their intriguing atmospheric puzzles! This one was no different, but the fourth room was a bit disappointing. Granted, it’s only 1/4th of the game, but I felt too rushed by the timer to take in the atmosphere that Rusty Lake is so good at creating. I’m not too great at doing things fast either, so I had to watch the walkthrough to make it in time, which felt like a defeat. It would’ve been nice to go into the room and figure out all the puzzles first, then flip a switch to start the timer and finish the puzzles in that time in order to proceed to the cutscene. I very much hope that they continue making the games awesome and fun without the use of timers. Anyone who likes logic puzzles would love this game!

    Definite Scare Factor

I am a jumpy person, I'll admit. I loved playing Birthday and Arles, though in Birthday I had to pull myself together after some parts, but I just cannot do scary things. I got to chapter 4, right after the deer gets decapitated and then the deer-person appears, and I refused to continue. I was playing this at 8 in the morning, there's nothing to worry about at 8 in the morning, and yet I deleted the game and refuse to play it again. I LOVE these games, but I'll have to come back to this one.

Chapter 4 Is a Major Letdown

Case 23 is the fifth installment in the Cube Escape series. Seasons, the first installment, should be played first, but so far, the order for the others doesn't seem to matter much. Seasons transcended the usual you're-stuck-in-a-room-try-to-escape storyline, and although some of the other installments in the series added further hints about what might be going on, none of them have an actual narrative until Case 23. Case 23 has less sense of mystery and a less compelling narrative than the first game, but it held my interest. Then the fourth chapter of Case 23 began, and suddenly I was forced to collect all the items and solve all the puzzles within a very limited amount of time. Not being on a timer is one of the things I love most about adventure puzzle games, so that felt like a huge slap in the face. I didn't even wait to solve the final chapter before writing this review to express my disappointment. I'm not entirely sure I'll ever finish the game. Maybe I'll just watch the video walkthrough instead. Granted, Loyalty Games gave themselves a tough act to follow with Seasons, and there are some good puzzles in the later installments, but at the moment, it feels as though the series just jumped a shark. I hope it gets back on track with later installments.
