This is a great puzzle game. It has a great mix of easy, moderate, challenging, and extremely challenging puzzles in it. This is better than Big Fish games because it’s free and has a pretty good story, with a nice mix of the whimsical and macabre to keep you interested. A few of the puzzles had very obscure clues. I even had to consult a walkthrough for one of them (I’ll just say, “‘Triangles and Things that Fly’ for 500, Alex.”). I played this for about 4+ hours. Well worth it. People complain about paying for games, but I would pay a few bucks for this one. You can buy stars to gain hints but it isn’t necessary at all. So, don’t be put off by that IAP. It asks to be reviewed between the 8 chapters (optional), but that’s not a big deal for a free game. No ads either. 2 thumbs up and I’m going to the app store to see what else the developer has. :)

Highly recommended! Fun original story, good graphics and character design, and a fairly user-friendly interface. Although they require some guesswork (your character has limited info), puzzles are mostly solvable without hints. Few errors noted in the puzzles. Note to dev’s: You might want to check for errors in clock gear puzzle. I normally can solve these unaided. I found two workable gear size layouts, but just could not make colors match up! Another poss. error in ghost summoning boxes. Got all wood frames with their center crystals in place, and had all but one center crystal color point matched up to frame colors as well. That answer was accepted with the error intact. Did not need to skip, but the mismatch made solving take longer. Thanks for a really good time!

I’m a big fan of this developer! There games are so much fun to play! This games especially... for a free game, AND NO ADS...??? Can’t do it better then this when it comes to that aspect. Graphics are great, storyline is entertaining, puzzles vary enough. Just like I said, a free game with no ads, no one else does it better. There’s no need for in game credits, however I’m probably going to buy some anyways just to show my appreciation for how well a game this is, and for the lack of greed unlike other developers. All they ask for is a review... top notch! My respect goes out to you haiku!! It would be a sad day if you ever transition over to a pay-to-play game... although I’d still probably pay just because of the numerous games you’ve made for free. I’m a fan of yours for life.

I can’t believe the whole game is free without obstructive ads! Very interesting and very challenging puzzles and I had a ton of fun figuring out the steps in between. The story was also enjoyable and I like the main character. I appreciate that the hints are more of a gentle push rather than just giving you the answer so if I did get stuck it didn’t spoil the fun. Also I did not have to purchase any hints because they are given free enough for me to finish the game with maximum fun. I also appreciate a difficult challenge without it being frustratingly impossible. I play a lot of the Big Fish & Elephant HOAs and I liked this one a lot more than most of them. Haiku games, who knew? Very fun!!! 5/5.

I’ve played many of their games. Some are much harder than this one but I find this one more fun because I don’t have to spend hours figuring out a puzzle. They are challenging, yet not too challenging that the become too difficult to solve. These guys are the very best at what they do. Let’s give them some money so they can continue to keep us entertained! If you email them, they will send you a link to a donation page. A small donation probably goes along way. I really enjoy Haiku’s games—they’re so much better than all the match 3, bubble pop, and hidden objects games out there. This game adds a nice change to Haiku’s other escape room games— you play as two different characters that give you access to different areas in each room and from a different perspective. With this game, you’re u not only have to figure out what to do, but which character you need to be to achieve the goal, and how those two characters must work together. Nice job, Haiku!

Overall I loved this game. You could tell them taking their time helped but testing compared to their clearly rushed, very frustrating prior 2 games they released. The shape shifting was an interesting twist (though the very limited view on the monocle was frustrating), and most of the puzzles made sense. But really, this is a great and fun release from one of the best free game developers out there for escape games. Don’t know what people complain about with the lack of ads and the ability to collect stars for hints in game. They spoil us.

I’ve beat this game so many times and I love it it’s challenging but not impossible like a lot of other games and another thing I love is that when you beat the game they give you the option to keep your stars this is one of the very few games that I can play over and over again and so far in the amount of times I’ve played it I haven’t really seen and bugs but please make a sequel to this game otherwise I absolutely love this game❤️

You’ll be left to your own devices for a couple of the puzzles. A couple of them aren’t your run of the mill puzzles where you at least know what you’re supposed to do - however hard it may be, you at least know what the end goal should be. I’d explain better, but it would be a spoiler. I had to check a walkthrough a couple times just to figure out what I was supposed to do. Otherwise, it’s a fairly good game. In a lot of games you may have something in your inventory, but have no clue what it is. At least in this one it tells what it is.

I love Haiku Games. One of the few game makers I actually check for new games. Haunted Hunt didn’t disappoint and the shape shifting gameplay was a nice bonus. They strike a good balance of challenge and casualness for me and I don’t mind buying extra hints to support them. Gameplay is a bit awkward on the phone at times. Some of the controls are small and I would often have to try a couple of times to hit the exact spot I wanted. Worst cases were the puzzle to put the picture in focus and the conversation near the end when I accidentally pressed the reset button next to the shape shift.

The storyline is...okay. You’re a supernatural shapeshifter (as though a shapeshifter would be classified as something other than supernatural) who’s been kidnapped by a “supernatural hunter.” The tasks required to escape perpetual captivity are sufficiently challenging. However, the items to complete said tasks are not easily visible. Thus, blind clicking ensues. The game would be much more enjoyable if players were allowed to zoom in on items in the various rooms. Aside from the inability to zoom in and the lackluster, two dimensional characters, this game is adequately entertaining. Particularly so when one considers the price...

Not only is the IA expensive, you don't get a lot for your money! To skip any puzzles, it'll cost anywhere from 10-20 STARS, and their few and far between within the game. If you need a regular hint, it'll cost you 5 stars! 100 stars are $7.99 You can get 10 by writing a review and letting them have access to your FB friends and email! Lower the price of stars, and lower the amount of stars it takes to get hints! There should be a way to buy unlimited hints. And it shouldn't cost as many stars as it does! I absolutely love these games but sadly I've ended up deleting this dev's apps because of the money grabber game! Not everyone has the brain of a Scientist! This is a great game if you don't need help! I, like many of us, DO need hints, and not break the bank at the same time! I am all for supporting developers that I feel are worthy, and honest, but I won't support the ones that make it impossible to pass through without buying a bunch of things. You can find a shinning speck here and there, (Those are your hints, or stars) but with the cost of a hint or passing a puzzle within the game is impossible w/o spending $! Hope you're rich! I'm not! Change the amount we get per dollar AND the amount it takes to pass a puzzle or receive a hint, then it would be a 5 star game.

I realize this is a free game. I have it three stars because it is free to play. If I would have paid for this game I would have given it one. The puzzle in the hellhound chapter with the cross, knife and onions was ridiculous. There was not enough room on screen for all the objects. I had to move objects to the side. In doing so the cork disappeared and I had to restart the entire chapter. I tried turning my phone off first and going back in to avoid doing it over to no avail. The next chapter was just as delightfully annoying. The last vault ring that was supposed to be on the chandelier was not there. Had to do the chapter over again. Really Haiku? Fix the dang game please.

I admit I am NOT the sharpest tool in the shed, but I’m not dull witted either. There often seems like not enough information is provided to solve a “puzzle”, so a person might have to use a “clue” which is expensive and often the very first clue given is generally one you’ve already figured out; so you might have to use a total of 3 clue’s to get to the point of assistance. By that time, you’ve either emptied your reservoir OR you have to purchase more at $1.99=10 stars, cost of 5 stars per clue (keep in mind you might need as many as 2-3 to solve a puzzle, and an average of 30 stars to skip a puzzle. Way too much money over all. I will finish this game, but not likely to buy another or recommend to anyone.
