    Haiku does it best...

Haiku makes the most fun, challenging and, sometimes, irritating puzzles I’ve encountered in many years. I love how you need to rely on all your skills — logic, intuition, math, common sense, etc. You’re not constantly nagged to purchase anything, if you get truly stuck, I’m sure you could find a walkthrough somewhere (hint-hint😊). Many other game companies (like Big Fish) have really beautiful graphics in their hidden object games. Unfortunately, just as soon as the game gets interesting, your limited chapter free trial is over and they want you to pay $4.99 or more to continue. With Haiku games, you can complete an entire game or storyline without paying a cent. Sure, you need to watch short ads in-between chapters, but they’re short and a small price to pay for something that entertains so much and keeps your brain cells working. Well done, Haiku!

    Challenging but amazing game

The game gets harder as you go on but as long as you're patient and determined, you'll be able to solve all the clues. I like how it gets harder as you progress and the graphics are amazing. I'm definitely going to keep getting games from these creators!! Most games don't challenge me enough because they're to easy but this was a perfect mix of easy and hard. It's right up my alley. If you're into point and click games or escape games, than youll love this game. Tips for the game- don't waste all your stars in the beginning, wait till the end and make sure you keep trying a problem before you use stars. Sometimes it's better to take a break and come back to it later. All the clues are solvable, you just have to use logic to solve them.

    Fun Games!

I downloaded all the games made by Haiku after I completed one of their game which is escape from asylum. The artwork in this game is very beautiful and the puzzles are set in well-balanced difficulty. In the future, I would like to see escape games of different theme/genre. For example, one could put focus on romance and be played from the point of view of two different characters and make them work together to solve puzzles. I also would like to see the game plot like “And Then There Were None”, where a group of people are together and they are murdered one by one, and the way to stop the killer is to solve the puzzle to reveal his/her identity.

    Love The Haiku Games!

I believe they are all winners and highly entertaining. These games keep your interest piqued (or mine anyway). These are games that actually make you think and keep you interested. The developers are awesome and I hope they keep it up! I have read good and bad reviews and this game version seems to have more bad reviews than any of the other Haiku games and there are some challenges but isn't that why games of this nature are played and enjoyed? The hidden object games just get old! Don't you think?? I love Haiku games and look forward to plying each and everyone available. Thank you, Haiku :)

    Finally, a challenging free game!

I have played so many escape games and so few of them are actually challenging, but this one is - AND the graphics are beautifully done! My first game by Haiku, and I can't wait to try others. Story was just okay, but I'd forgive a lot more for a game this fun to play! I got through this game without using a single hint. Yes, it was frustrating sometimes, but I just came back to it a little later and even that small change in perspective helped a lot. Don't let other reviews scare you off. If the puzzles were intuitive, they wouldn't be puzzling...duh.

    Fun at the Carnival

This is one of the best escape games I’ve ever played! Although it’s not a typical escape game, you are forced in each area to collect items to move forward through that area, and find a way to keep moving deeper into the carnival. I love the magical aspect to it, because it’s not something you see often in escape games, and I love that the main character is a female, who is strong, independent and powerful. I also love that the game includes puzzles deciphering runes and breaking spells. This is a wonderful experience, and not at all frustrating.

    Trying TOO Hard!

I've played all the escape games from Haiku, and I've also played tons of other escape games. Haiku still is the very best, but this recent Midnight Carnival is very frustrating in places. It almost seems like the game designers are trying to "out cute" each other, and it doesn't work. For example: The balloon game seems self explanatory. Put the 5 balloons in order by color. I tried every possible combination, and nothing worked. So, I began using clues to find out what I was doing wrong. I bought ALL the clues available, and it didn't help. I couldn't even buy my way out, because the solution regenerates. The clues seemed to clearly say that all 5 colors had to be used, but not the case! That really upset me. Now I'm stuck trying to unlock a drawer with flags and clocks as clues. I figured it out fairly easily, thinking how neat a design it was, but NOOOOO! The order of letters which SHOULD work, does not work. Trying too hard...but still the very best escape games I've found. They will be leaving a great LEGACY! Another thing that I enjoy is the story which accompanies the game. They are pretty well thought out, which I cannot say for other games!

    It’s free, play it already!

Intriguing atmosphere, not really bizarre or scary, but well crafted. Game play and UI seem to work pretty well through first two chapters. Music loops pretty quickly but the gnawing repetition works with the sort of weirdly disconcerting carnival / witchy feel. Additional sounds effects could have added considerably more to the odd and spooky ambience with another few hours of effort. The graphics are the strength of this game, even if they are 2D, they are moody, colorful and fairly well done, although animation is minimal and a bit crude. The puzzles are not particularly difficult, especially if you are observant and use the clues. Story line is diluted with dialogue that infuses some weak romantic chemistry and humor aimed at adolescents. Character development is similar to a comic strip, but that is fairly standard for this genre. All in all, the game has entertainment value that will satisfy casual players who enjoy escape / hidden object games. But it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and you shouldn’t either. Given it’s free, we really shouldn’t expect much more. Thanks for your efforts!

    Not their best

I almost quit playing near the beginning because there was too much dialogue for me. A lot more than the first two from Haiku that I played. Also, the use of "witch/gypsy" symbols got old. However, it was an interesting story, and the dialogue lessened as I continued to play. And though I thought all the non-standard writing got annoying, I enjoyed doing the sudoku puzzle - after I translated each symbol to their corresponding number and wrote out a sudoku puzzle on paper (with normal numbers). Also, I don't usually care for "puzzles" that only require time and trial & error. I still enjoyed the game, and completed it, but I liked Asylum and Time Library more.

Love all your games but energy runs out to quick in all of them

Love your games, have them All downloaded let me just say the balloon puzzle was by far the hardest I couldn’t understand what I was doing wrong but then I figured it out. Great story great puzzles I just cannot stand how fast your energy runs out especially in murder in alps which is one of my favorites and in escape cult your sopposed to figure out what parts of the globe to press based of the pictures in the wall but I have no clue what part of the world the one is and the globe is shapes no names so you have to know what each one is and I have no idea I’d need a globe to figure it out lol

    Not that good

If you're looking to play good escape games, play any other game by Haiku. They're great, but seriously dropped the ball with this one. The story is meh, plus the whole hunting of gypsies is culturally insensitive at best. The puzzles aren't intuitive at all, and not even fun once you finally figure out what you have to do - and that's saying something, because I usually love Haiku Games' puzzles. Seriously, if you want to play a game like this one, play anything else from this developer. If this is your first game from Haiku Games, stay away! I promise the other games are way better than this one, so start out with the other ones and maybe come back to this game if you have played every other game from them.

    G**sy is a racial slur....

The game itself aside... the term g**sy is cosidered pejorative, offensive. What the game means is fortune teller or mystic. G**sy is a negative term for Roma people and should ideally be removed and replaced within the game, although I know this game is old, so this is unlikely. I had none of the major glitches that were in past reviews. I did have an issue with a level not saving, but this is true of all the adventure games. They only save once you complete so don't start playing a level if you dont have the time to finish (or be very careful to not close the app or let your phone die). This one did have a few really interesting puzzles. They were less obvious than some in the other games and I loved that. The lower stars is mostly for the ignorance around the slur.

Played before but a glitch now makes it unplayable

I've played this game before all the way through and found it entertaining, even though certain challenges were too finicky to be enjoyable. I re-downloaded end the game to play it again and am stuck with the dolls. Tapping on the note left by the crow only allows you to read it, not pick it up, thereby making it impossible to create the perfect doll that lets you complete this particular challenge. You can't even pay with stars to skip the challenge just for the sake of moving on. This new issue makes the game unplayable, and not just in the sense of a poor opinion, it's literally impossible to progress in the game beyond this point.
