Second Chapter- Unique
The puzzles are immersive, relatively quick to get the hang of, and the ones that aren't are all the more rewarding when you figure them out. The game asks you to review the game after the second chapter (under 15-20 mins of gameplay so far) for 5 free stars. This game is inspiring to me as a puzzle adventure game masked with Sci Fi immersion and a compelling story. Havent seen any character development or dynamics yet though-- you the player represent two characters: a male and female supply duo figuring out what happened to the ship. Overall the game is solid and they try to give you a merciful number of hints (at least so far)
No WiFi Game
This game plays like a escape game, but it has a plot with cutscenes (hence, Adventure Escape). Many of the puzzles can be solved with ease, but the developers leave enough difficult puzzles for you to try and figure out (the hard puzzles are usually at the end of a chapter). You can find and collect stars to use as currency for answers, but try not to use them unless it is necessary. The best part (of course) is you do not need any WiFi to play this game. Haiku Games craft their apps rather well. No disappointments so far.
Just hard enough
The only “glitch” I have noticed so far takes place when you are playing on an iPad on the zoomed in setting (for bad eyesight). In this case, all of the inventory items vanish off the screen and you literally cannot play, and this happens for all of the haiku games. The fix is to opt out of zoomed setting on the iPad, if even just for this game. Other than that, these are perfect. The puzzles are *just* frustrating enough, lol. I like a challenge. :)
❤Haiku games
I love all of these adventure escape games put out by Haiku. They're challenging enough to be fun, but not so much you become frustrated, and the storylines are often charming and engaging. Also, the ads between chapters are pretty minimal - the fact that these games are free with no tricks is great. Honestly, I don't know how this company makes any money! Today I am sad to have played the last game... I waited as long as I could. I would definitely recommend Haiku games to anyone who enjoys escape adventure games.
PLEASE MAKE MORE GAMES!!
I really enjoy the games by haiku. The puzzles can be pretty challenging but not so that they can't be figured out. I only have two minor complaints. Sometimes when I leave the game I have to repeat the progress in the chapter I'm in. The other is....I think I only have one more game left😢😢😢😢!!! PLEASE MAKE MORE! I complete one game a day with most of them. The only one that took me more than a day I THINK was Ruins (or maybe murder). Thank you for the FREE GAMES!! Some of the games in SPACE are REALLY CHALLENGING!😬
Another Winner
Once again I enjoy the story line and character roll. The early puzzles were so simple I thought the age target was younger but the puzzles became increasingly harder. Loved having to save a life, repair the ship and get us home. The only thing I would have added is when rescuing Jake in space it would be nice to see getting closer to him as progressing through the puzzle. Otherwise complete enjoyment of the graphics and creativity of a space theme. Thanks.
Fun so far
I've only played the first chapter, but it seems good so far. I ran into a little snag with the docking puzzle--my attention got diverted and I missed the instructions on what to do, then couldn't find a way to get the instructions to reappear. I ended up accidentally wasting 5 stars to bypass the puzzle and ultimately ended up deleting and reinstalling the game to get them restored. I love this game genre, so I will look for mor Haiku games when I finish this one.
Another Haiku Success
This another really fun game from Haiku. Kudos to the developers! Later: I think I have a glitch in the game in chapter seven. I can’t seem to get thru to the area where the solar panels get fixed. I have the wire, actuator, battery, and solar panel. I’ve been outside to the solar panels but I can’t fix anything. I even looked at a walkthru, and I haven’t got thru the round floor opening. So I’m stuck and bummed. Goes down to one star for me on this one.
If you LOVE to use your brain
I absolutely love this game. I’ve played a few of these, and each one gets better than the last one. You have to really think, and I’ve been stuck a couple of times, but then just sit back and really, REALLY think about it. Then you figure out the puzzle you are to solve to in order to go forward. Great idea, and I hope you continue to make more of these.
Haiku games are better than other Big Fish and other popular game developers
I like that the complete game is unlocked and they don’t make a pay to finish the adventure. There is a small ad when you complete chapters. It’s worth it to not throw money away. I hope to see more adventure mystery games in the near future. I wanted to leave this review to pay it forward.
Glitches
I like the game, but there have been at least 2 glitches so far (that I've noticed) and one of them required me to skip the puzzle. Near the beginning, when modifying the jet pack, it told me multiple times that the bottle needed fuel, even though I had filled it correctly. After redoing it a few times it finally worked. Not too big of a deal. However, the puzzle with the gears, the second placed gear (small) would not spin most of the time. Even when it would spin, the last one placed wouldn't contact/spin the upper right gear. I even looked it up, and in the video I watched it worked the first time, yet doing it the same way (even the same sequence) didn't work. So I skipped it. Luckily I had enough stars. I've given it 3 stars because it's been pretty good otherwise. Edit: added a star after finishing game. Though the game has a few issues, it's extremely creative and unique (to me at least). The time limits on the last puzzle irritated me at first, but I ended up enjoying having to race against the clock. I thought this was the last game, but as luck would have it, 2 new games have been released in the last 2 days. Thanks Haiku.
Very good game play
I am several chapters into the game so far and it continues to be very entertaining. Each chapter has unique challenges, so they game doesn’t become redundant. I agree with another reviewer who found the solutions to each puzzle are just difficult enough without becoming frustrating when you are figuring it out. Definitely will keep playing and, based on this experience, will try other games from Haiku!
Hard to beat
The games difficulty ramps up like the part when you get to the control panel and get super hard and the game has really bad hints like the suits I need to match the suits hint try matching the suits so if your stuck your stuck and it’s a pay to win games Not including the glitches like accident letting go on the key card any have to restart and some thing like have to look at small thing like little drawers nope a tiny little vent has a hammer So ya and glitch once you have to delete the game and START OVER so at last chapter ah about to beat the game nope glitch’s has to start from the first chapter.
No saved progress
I normally enjoy Haiku games, but this one makes me watch ads. I wish I could pay something to stop them. Even worse, my in-chapter progress is not saved! I was doing an EVA last night, had to quit, and when I picked it up again today, I was forced to assemble everything again from scratch! Highly annoying and not an incentive to continue. I’m sorry but this is the first Haiku game I might delete, which is a shame because I love space-themed games. :-( One star docked for each issue.
