    Best one yet

These games are simply fantastic. This one in particular was great. I’ve gotten stuck on other games and even though I have purchased enough stars - the hints just stop and I’m stuck with no way to escape. Most games by this developer have a way to skip a puzzle if you are stuck but some games don’t have that option at all levels on all puzzles. It’s frustrating!! I also wish I could transfer unused stars. We pay a lot for stars and it seems unfair that they can’t be used in other games by the same developer. It’s just throwing away money - especially if you are stuck with no way to skip.

    Very impressive!

I am not going to lie, I don’t usually leave reviews unless it’s a bad one. All the Adventure Escape games are ridiculously addictive. If you’re crazy about escape rooms and puzzles, these are the games for you. Also, Haiku Games is definitely not a money-hungry company, charging an arm and a leg to progress in the story like most others. There are in-app purchases, but at a very reasonable price and well worth it. After every chapter there is one single ad you don’t even have to watch completely. I feel like there’s a catch and they are going to get taken away from me, that’s how good they are. Trust me, you won’t play anything else.

    Love this escape adventure

This is the third game I’ve played. The first, Murder Manor and this one have been very enjoyable. You have to think about the puzzles but you can solve them on your own with some thought. Murder Inn was the second game I played and it seemed harder than the other two. I had to watch the walkthrough on it at times to see what I should be doing or where I should be going. They are all fun, one quite a bit harder than the other two. I am a big fan and will continue to play these as long as you make them!! There aren’t any other games like this that I can speak of this highly. Way to go Haiku!!

    This is a good one!

Well done, Haiku Games! This is a fun game with interesting and challenging puzzles. You get plenty of stars for hints, although some of the hints were a bit too vague to be of much use. Even so, the puzzle solutions are all intuitive, so if you spend some time mulling them over you can figure them out. I also liked that they took a little time to add some character interactions (very light, but most games of this kind don’t have any). Overall, the game does exactly what you want in terms of casual entertainment and I’m stoked to have found a new developer whose games I will enjoy. So, off to play another one!

    Definitely worth a 5 star!

These games are very well made, some a bit better than others but I like this Christmas one because you can interact with more object that the ones you need for your main story line, which add difficulties but even fun, it makes the game more real, like monkey island style, which I love, after having played 7-8 of these stories I can see good job, you are really keeping this valuable kind of games still alive, my favorite its the allied spies one because of the story and this one of Christmas for the gameplay style, hopefully you will release more of these!

    No WiFi Game

This game plays like a escape game, but it has a plot with cutscenes (hence, Adventure Escape). Many of the puzzles can be solved with ease, but the developers leave enough difficult puzzles for you to try and figure out (the hard puzzles are usually at the end of a chapter). You can find and collect stars to use as currency for answers, but try not to use them unless it is necessary. The best part (of course) is you do not need any WiFi to play this game. Haiku Games craft their apps rather well. No disappointments so far.

    Crispy

Sounds like a weird description for a video game but I keep thinking “crispy”. Some hidden object games (not that this is one) have a sketchy illustrator like quality which I find displeasing to the eye. I prefer bright colors. Bold outlines. Don’t make it difficult to find objects because foreground and background share a tone that blends it all together. Make it difficult by challenging my mind’s ability to solve a complex situation. Added to this is a tight storyline and a real puzzler and that makes Haiku games gold!!

    A bit glitchy, but free

The puzzles are pretty easy for the most part. The is a good puzzle game for the times when you don’t want to have to think too hard. I had to cheat (ugh!) to get past a puzzle by selecting the right floor and room. I knew the correct answer (easy puzzles, remember) but did not know I had to tap on the correct answer twice to make it work. I’m writing that off as a glitch as it makes no sense otherwise. And did I mention, it’s free?

Finally a perfect time killing puzzler

I’ve downloaded multiple apps under the puzzle category only to either find them very easy or the clues are so obscure that there is zero relationship between clue and part of puzzle it belongs with. This game seems to have a perfect balance so far (only finished the first chapter) but ya have to think about some of the clues. Again, perfect time killer where I can play for a little and then walk away (rinse repeat)

    Great production

Clearly a lot of work went into this. Unlike most Escape games all the puzzles are tied together with a murder mystery story. The various settings are nicely rendered with a lot of detail. The puzzles are interesting and inventive and just the right degree of difficulty to be challenging but not frustrating. Great job! (Oh and I like that items picked up are automatically zoomed in on and identified. In other Escape games I pick things up and can't even tell what I've got.)

    Absolutely amazing

I've played and replayed all of this company's games. Such fun, authentic, challenging, and visually appeasing games. They improve with each new release. The storylines are interesting, the puzzles are challenging-simply an amazing free game. I highly recommend if you enjoy puzzle adventures. I dont particularly like hidden object games, and wish more games were just plain puzzle adventure. I would happily pay for these games and shall continue to support. Thank you!!

    Amazing

Amazing game. I love the Kate Gray mysteries. They are all excellent!!!! They take a while to solve, the puzzles are doable but take some effort, the stories are fun, and it can be easily played without inter app purchase which is probably the most incredible part. There are no free apps like this anywhere else!!! Honestly.... download this now!! You will have so much fun! I wish I could give it 10 stars.

Better and better as I go along...

Great storyline and great puzzles. This game really gets you thinking! There were a few glitches....and i would need to restart game to fix. It was also a bit annoying to restart a level (aka chapter) when i would come back to it after a break...however, minor bits of frustration. Some complex and thought provoking puzzles. Esp toward the end a few of the puzzles just boggled my mind... Well done!! Thanks for the great game...it was a lovely gift...free entertainment!

    Technical difficulties

I love haiku games - but some are better technically than others. I give the ideas and stories and puzzles all 5 stars, but here are the things I have problems with - and Christmas’ are so bad, I deleted the game without finishing- - progress saved: only a few of Haiku’s games save progress through each Chapter (Scottish Castle and Haunted Hunt, for example). This means you can resume play from wherever you left off. - this is important because a few of the games will simply “drop out” back to the beginning of your current chapter even when switching from the game to another app. This means restarting every chapter over and over. In the case of Christmas and having to redo the quilt puzzle over and over, it was too much for me - free skips on completed puzzles. I think only Scottish Castle offered this - replay any chapter. Very useful for collecting stars (so it’s understandable why it wouldn’t be included). But let’s be real: paying real money for this kind of game is unrealistic (as opposed to a game like Kings Road where you have to pay to develop your character) Sorry for the rant but I was just frustrated too much by Haiku Christmas.
