    Plus and minus

On the plus side, this game is addictive. It’s fun to play! The graphics are gorgeous. There are a variety of variations and puzzles within the game And to make the game more interesting, there are new “events” and goals about once a month. The more “friends” you connect with in the game, the faster you progress. I’ve had the chance to talk to people from all around the world as I play. The downside. This game is addictive. It’s deliberately set up using psychological principals that are designed to get you to play (and buy) more. It is possible to play for free but progress will be much slower. There is very little in the way of FAQs. Mostly you will have to learn by playing or join one of the Facebook or “hidden” groups to learn how to play and get your questions answered. Also the game software is incredibly buggy!!!!! Constant glitches and problems playing and storing your info. Unless you have a lot of patience, this becomes very frustrating!! There is a link to report the problems but all you’ll get back is a form “letter” telling you they’ll look into it. If you don’t mind all the software problems, and have enough self-control not to spend too much money, the game is lots of fun.

    Good game

I’ve been playing this game for a while and have enjoyed it even though it’s frustrating not being able to find some of the items. Let’s face it if it was to easy it would be boring. I’ve also been buying gems which I stopped doing a long time ago because it’s money out of my pocket for the developers. It’s not like I’m getting gems in the mail but when you want to win levels and have nothing to help you it’s either buy or lose. I would’ve given them the fifth star but I have 2 problems with this game that prevents that. I collected on one of my collections and received 150 energy for it which is great but the problem is when you level up you don’t get to keep that extra 150 because it just goes back to regular energy. My energy level at full is 380. I had over 200 after collecting that 150. So when I level up it should’ve given me 380 plus the amount I had before leveling up. I should’ve had at least close to 625 in energy. I play 2 other games from this company and they do the same thing. I’m spending real money to play your game so you should be fair and properly credit the energy at level up. I can’t remember the other problem but I’ll ad it in later

    Beautiful frustrating Game

The first thing that I have to say about this game is that the graphics are absolutely beautiful and the collections are really fun. I really love the Victorian-Gothic aspect of it and all of the beautiful is symbolism and that’s used throughout the game. There’s lots of areas to explore and lots of little mini games that are nice too. I like the cards if fate mini game that has your memory and the Crystal’s game that is a lot like bejeweled. There’s also a minesweeper type game as well. That being said the game is extremely challenging as you level up in a location. While I like the challenge it is almost impossible to beat some of the puzzles unless you use a tool or a cheat. Also the pay off is very small for collecting all of the keys to the chests that are related to the main quest that’s usually happening. One thing that I think is terrible is that as you get near the end of a collection for a quest you have to summon an “anomaly” to get the item that you need in order to complete the collection. That usually cost money in someway. It’s frustrating to have come that far and then have to spend money to go further in the game.

Fun game but hidden key quests disappear.

Good game, just have to take breaks because of difficulty seeing hidden items strains eyesight that is already limited. But curious thing on major quests I noticed. After you find the 500 key chest you are offered a 1000 key chest that is stated to remain active and open for another 30 days at least. But every time a new location is opened with a storyline to complete that has keys to find the last hidden key option disappears. It has been less than a week since the last big quest ended and a new one has begun. The ballet one just started today. But the summer theatre key chest for 1000 has disappeared just like previous chests. I get that having two locations for keys might be confusing, but then you shouldn’t offer the option of continuing to collect keys with the supposed 30 days of time. Just tell the truth that as soon as the next quest starts you won’t be able to finish collecting keys so don’ waste tools and energy to have over 400 or 500 keys disappear with no explanation. We could have saved those tools and energy for the new quest if you were up front about not really giving the 30 days to collect those 1000 keys after the main quest has expired. Learned my lesson after 3rd time and will not be suckered into wasting supplies or my efforts on trying to get the special 1000 key chest on a story quest again. Still like the game but don’t appreciate being lied to just so you can get more $ for tools and energy boosters.

I have a couple of questions???

I have a question,!?How can I update a version of Homescape which is supposed to be a free game with the option if you so choose to spend money to get more lives & or more of the little doohickey thingys that help you get through each level, however some thing popped up that said I must install the new version but fir some reason it’s not letting me because I don’t want to put more money in my account than I actually have that I know that I can spend. But it’s a free game that I already have installed on my phone so why can’t I just update the friggin thing without having to have some debit card? And or how can I go about updating it without having to have money in that account? I know I didn’t use a credit card because I don’t have any credit cards. And I also know that my debit card is valid because it’s a debit card however I just only keep the minimum balance in that account unless I have more money that I know that I can afford to spend. And I also know that I didn’t use some friggin Apple Pay Card so it shouldn’t be telling me that the card number I gave them is invalid because they said they would only charge me for purchases that I make. Thus if I’m not trying to purchase something that costs money then why is it that they are trying to charge my debit card by way of that particular game especially since all I’m trying to do is do what it said I had to do which is update the app.!?

    Addicting.. When playable

I'm truly addicted. The locations are artistic and the additional gameplay features like monsters and mini games have made this my favorite hidden object game. However, the gems come too slowly for a free player to enjoy it much at all, and the prices are too high to get any amount that would make a worthy difference in the game. Both the real $$cost of gem and coin packages and the game-currency cost of chests, treasuries, tools, boosts etc.. are too high to allow any satisfaction after dropping real dollars on pretend moneys that disappear so fast. Like I said though, I'm addicted and have three accounts. I only make purchases on two accounts and the truth is that the fifty dollars I've dropped so far on each of them hasn't brought me any farther in the game than my free account. Also, the game is a HUGE data hog upon opening new locations and especially when beginning new events. Lastly, I'm tired of seeing friends in my news feed starting the new events hours or even days before my game decides to let me in. It would be a great relief if the app store updates ACTUALLY updated the game or at least prompted the download of event content upon opening the game. The only way to get event content, it seems, is to uninstall and reinstall the game entirely and unless you have several gigs to spare or enjoy those nifty overage charges, it's just not worth it.

Really fun game, but too expensive.

This game is a lot of fun and addictive. The story lines are interesting and the graphics are really good. I would love to give this game a 5, but I can’t for a couple of reasons. It’s too expensive to play consistently and the ads are annoying. Since I play this game for entertainment, I don’t mind paying a little to play each month, but you do not get enough rubies for the amount you have to pay to make it worth it. When you level up, you only get 1 ruby... things cost multiple rubies. They almost make it impossible to play without spending money. A suggestion would be, if you’re going to make people spend to play, give them more for their money (especially when it comes to rubies). Or make things cost less. A great option that a lot of other games have is being able to buy unlimited supplies of things. An unlimited ruby supply option, would be great! With the ads, there is no amount of money you can spend to make them go away. I do spend money on this game and I still get long pop up ads that interrupt my game and make me miss some stuff. If people spend the money on your games, please stop the ads from interrupting them! These are also the reasons why I won’t look at any other G5 games... I can’t afford to.

Fun game but several glaring usability bugs & errors

I’d rate this 3.5 if I could. I enjoy this game and don’t mind spending some money on it but there are some extremely annoying issues. 1) in order to get your daily quest list you have to open, close, and re-open the game. All of the other daily bonuses are there when you open it the first time, but for some reason you have to do this weird dance to get the daily quest list every day unless you happen to have the game open at midnight. 2) Often times things will be in the way of what you need to click on. Like monsters will be standing in front of buildings you need to enter or chests that you need to click on, or a message on the bottom of the screen will be covering up something that you need to click on like a cell of the expedition game. 3) The new plea for you to connect to your contact list or Facebook friends in order to add to game friends is very obnoxious and in the way every time you go to your friends list to try and help out your in-game friends. If these were cleaned up I could easily rate this four stars. Or even higher if it was made for the new iPhone so that I don’t lose things behind the left edge of the screen when I play because of the iPhone screen cut out.

    Mixed reviews

I have mixed reviews on this game. The graphics, some games and storyline are great, but the difficulty level is too hard once you get to the upper levels. I’m at level 68, but some of the quests are so hard that you cannot get past them without buying diamonds to get items to help you. (i.e. The station). The only way I’ve found to get free diamonds is to level up. You have to search for items, but as you progress, the number of items you need to find increases or the time decreases, I’m not sure which one, but it’s sure harder than when I started. You can add “unknown G5 friends” and request items from them to help you, but they don’t always send you what your requesting. There are also special “events” for a limited time that they promote, but even at level 68, I have yet to be able to complete any of them due to the difficulty of the games as you progress through it. So, if you’re able to spend money on the game (which I’m not) or you’re a lot better than me at finding things quickly, you’d probably really enjoy it. For those of us who can’t afford it, you can progress and enjoy some of the games, but it’s somewhat frustrating working toward a goal you can’t reach.

Beautiful graphics, Burke save your money.

Like most other online games, they give you just enough to pique your interest and then cha-ching, pay us. In this game, there is no clear path forward, so you have no clue what you need to do next. There’s way too many concurrent challenges, and you can get only so far in the game where if you’re not prepared to fork over a lot of cash, you’re dead in the water. It isn’t humanly possible to make this many hidden finds in the short amount of time allotted; many of the hidden objects are additionally hidden again, so you are constantly clicking around on “wrong” spots and penalized time. Some of the mini challenges require extra cash. Too bad because the storyline is interesting; like in New Orleans somewhere, and the graphics are very well done, but the greed is way too overwhelming. Updating review: This month challenge required one to find 4000 event object to complete the challenge (this is just one of the legs of the entire challenge). I play a lot, but am barely over 2000 objects with only 2 days to go. A challenge is one thing, but without buying cheats, it is impossible to do this. People work. They can’t play a game 24/7. So, another game I’m disconnecting because it is rigged to rich folks only. I understand they have to make money, but ridiculous and obscene amounts of money toward a video game is absurd. Do not recommend this game at all. Wish I could give negative stars.

    Getting Greedy?

I’ve played this game for quite some time of late and notice that the longer I play the difficulty gets harder and harder, and it is no longer fun to play, especially the special quests. The achievement goals are impossible to reach without buying helps, and the game play itself doesn’t seem to follow the rules of the run of the mill quests. Example for the Christmas quest right now: you have to reach 900 of the highlighted list items in order to achieve one of the quest goals, but you can only reach 300 each time the developers, add that 24 hour task to the game board. That means they have to do 4 of these special daily tasks in the 25 day period, but the first one didn’t show up for 5 days, then the next one was almost another 5 days later. Also, there are special levels for prize items (you have to find the item ONLY when a certain anomaly is in the quest room) but with only 2 anomalies on my board with over 50+ rooms available to play in, I can’t summon the anomaly because I have too many anomalies on my board, for 3 days straight. I report this and I get a reply back saying they’re sorry I find it too difficult. That’s not difficulty, that’s out and out programming to keep players from being able to complete quests without spending lots of real money. Time I quit playing if they can’t keep the game play fair.

    Game used to be fun

Update: The more I play this game the more I am considering removing it from all of my devices. It is so completely riddled with nag screens that is very irritating to even play. Also, each time they do an update the game becomes more unstable and crashes a lot. Not to mention they put so many obstacles into completing each mini game, that it sometimes nearly impossible. About the only way to win some of the many games is to spend money, which I refused to do. It is no longer fun and I will be seriously consider getting rid of it. Original post: Love the game, but REALLY hate the push to get you into social media. Also I would much rather be given the option to buy the game and not have the constant having to close nag screens trying to get you to buy coin‘s jams etc. The constant nag screens really become a Major irritation. As far as gameplay it’s very fun and well laid out. It’s worth hours and hours of fun but could be so much more if it wasn’t for a constant nag screens and trying to push you into social media. Just put a price on it of about $30 and many ppl would be happy to buy. I have never, and never will buy the in app purchases. When it gets to the point where I can’t play anymore because of needing to purchase things in the game, then I just quit playing and find a different game
