I play this game in tower mode every day. Sometimes I play with a goal of clearing the board. Other times, I just want to make the longest word possible. So far, my best single word has been “juxtaposition” for 2288 points. My second best word was “quintessential” and I wish I could see the score for that one. My one suggestion for enhancement would be to see scores for the top three words (instead of just one).

I downloaded this last week. I was disappointed that it was not working in portrait mode, but that was resolved. I enjoy the simplicity, variation of modes, and even the color scheme. I experienced a glitch, emailed Zach, and got a response rather quickly for a holiday weekend. The one thing I would like to see is something for the scoring, especially for the Daily Puzzle.

Still love your game Zach! My best score so far is 349,000. However, I’d like you to consider an OFI. In recent play I got to 158,000. My iPad slipped and when I reached for it, my fingers touched the screen & wiped out my entire hard work to that point. Could you add a “save” option? Or, a self-check question before it clears the entire field? A way to ensure you have an alternative to simply losing all your work? Thanks for considering my OFI (opportunity for improvement)! My original review was... My favorite. For me it is challenging to continue improving my score. When I think I cannot improve...using a more strategic approach makes it work for me. Suggest it wholeheartedly.

I love this game. My only complaint is there is bow “Undo” button! There have been times where I am about to submit a really good word and then I accidentally bump a button and I accidentally submit a smaller word and I cannot take it back! Very frustrating! Please add this feature!

3.3 for this game is criminal. It’s insanely addictive and has been improved upon immensely with every update. All of Zach’s games are worth the reasonably priced purchase but this is the king. If you love Tetris and you love words, this will devour all your free time. Can’t say enough good about this masterpiece!

UPDATE: I clicked the “Disable Double Tap” toggle and the game unfroze. UPDATED: Game freezes a lot. I actually reloaded the game (and lost all of my score history, 3 years worth) so I am more than irritated to have it still freezing. Will try turning internet off to see if that helps. I love this game. Just wish it didn’t freeze so often. ORIGINAL: I love the update. Notice that in Ex Puzzle Mode the requirement of 6-letter words is now 5-letter words. I’m much more successful. Some mixed feelings about that. My bigger issue is that I finally got a new high score, but it wasn’t congratulated or saved like on the past. (That has improved somehow.) I also LOVED the original programming that kept a word highlighted when adding a row. I miss that feature.

This is one of our favorite games. My six-year-old became obsessed with it and has been using it on our old iPad. Just did a software update and can no longer access the old SpellTower but also cannot access the new one as our software is not the most updated. Is there anyway to get the old SpellTower back?

I started a streak and the game just stopped. I downloaded the update and it didn’t help. Then I read the reviews and one player found you have to turn off the internet while it loads. I am not having problems with it anymore. Hope they get it fixed but if not I can still play.

I enjoy this game. Its casual pace (on the tower and zen modes) makes it a good distraction when you’re in a waiting room or a carpool (only as a passenger) or something like that. One big complaint, the menu click is much too loud, and even if the volume is silenced, it still clicks at full volume the first time. Turn off the menu clicks. They are unnecessary.

I have enjoyed this game for several years. The recent upgrade seems to score fewer points for words which is disheartening. Seven letter words with a blue tile letter plus tiles with length limits only scores 120 points?! There's no way I'll beat my previous high score at this rate.

Shortly after booting up the game (approximately when the Game Center notification vanishes), SpellTower will freeze consistently if my device is able to establish an internet connection. Strangely, this only appears to be an issue during that exact point in time: disconnecting from the internet until the Game Center banner passes, and reconnecting immediately after, does not lead to a freeze. Because it is so easily surpassable, this bug does not make the game unplayable; however, I see how it can be a source of frustration to others, and it is a minor inconvenience to me as well. I adore the game otherwise, though.

In "rush" mode, it will accept letters while a new row comes in, causing unintended words to be entered prematurely, but when you are about to die, it stops accepting letters seconds before you are actually killed. It you have a word you can enter in time to keep from dying, it simply won't accept them and then you just watch yourself die. It should be designed the opposite way where letters are NOT accepted as new rows come in so you don't accidentally enter the wrong word, but letters ARE accepted to the last second when you are about to die.

I’ve been playing this game almost daily for years, but ever since the introduction of the daily tower with the latest update, this thing crashes on launch multiple times— EVERY TIME— before it works. I don’t know if adding the daily tower was biting off more than they could chew, but I’m getting ready to dump this app. I don’t want to, but this is supposed to relieve stress, not add to it! I’ll go back to 5 stars if and when they work the kinks out. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

I’ve been playing this game for years! But, lately every game I play winds up with just frustration! I can almost count on it crashing in the middle of racing against the game. I broke my high score for the first time in three years can you tell me my exact score and everything was cool. The next day I picked up the game on my iPad only to see my old high score! Hope you can fix this App. i’ll be taking a break from it till I see a update. It’s a wonderful game/app when it is working properly.😔
