Classic: Find words as fast as you can from an endless stream of letters. Finding words fast enough to keep the game going gets harder and harder as time passes. Try to reach the highest level you can! Then check out the leaderboards in Game Center and realize you've got a long way to go :)
Puzzle: You only get one board full of letters, so use them wisely! Longer words will earn you more points, and clearing the board completely will double your points for the whole game. Play on your own or compete in our Daily Puzzle competition to your score compares to everyone else who played that day. You can even watch the winning solution!
Practice: Relax with no timer and just try to find as many great words as you can!
Features:
• Easy to learn -- just drag to make words!
• Daily Puzzle lets you compete against the world every day
• Game center leaderboards and achievements
• Tracks your records, averages, and all-time best words
• Relaxing untimed Practice mode
• A fun mental exercise to keep your brain sharp!
What are the tricks? More time options!
The time allowed on Classic is really short & the game would be more interesting if it were longer - and even better if there were a couple of time options. Looking at the Scoreboards & seeing the outrageous scores of others makes me wish there were a few more Tips for Play given. I'm a good Boggler player, but I can't figure out what tricks people are using to get those crazy scores. I've only had this app a few days, but I'm getting bored with it because I can't figure out how to improve.
Addictive, but scoring is skewed
I love playing this, especially trying to get in the top %s in the Daily Puzzle. However, I think scores are much too heavily weighted towards long words. So, for instance, one 13 letter word puts you much higher than two 11s and a 9. So it becomes a search for words like internationalnesses, which I I think is going to bore me soon...... I wrote that first part about 6 weeks ago, and it is coming true. The program could be tweaked to limit the number of S’s, for example. I’d like to see a Qu included, too.
“cwtch”?!
I love this app. In my family, three generations play it. The daily puzzle is my favorite. What a challenge! My one quibble is with the dictionary; i.e., the words allowed. Apparently, “cwtch”—a Welsh word with “no English translation”—counts, but when I found “siddity”—meaning striving or uppity (see Melle Mel’s use of it in “The Message,” often misunderstood as “social security”)—it didn’t. One white English-speaking person to obviously white English-speaking app writers: come on, now.
A Fantastic Word Game!!!
I've played a lot of other word games, but this one is one of the best in my opinion! It really gives my brain a workout! When it was updated, and I experienced a problem, I sent an e-mail to the developer and got a speedy, helpful, and personal response. The game just gets better and better, as they continue to recognize more words suggested by the users.
Relaxing word game.
This is fun and brain stimulating. I got it as practice for Scramble but now I like it better. The new Puzzle feature is great and it is fun to anonymously compete with the daily version. I had a problem with the original release and the programmer responded wonderfully. Buy this one. She deserves it! PS I tried every one of those "drop words" replacements. None are as good or even close.
Daily Challenge Lover!
I really enjoy the daily puzzle. It is a good vocabulary workout. It makes me strategize to make longer words and try to use every letter for the double your score bonus. I play until I'm satisfied I've done my best and check back the next day to see where I stand. I also try to best my own scores each day. Thank you Sarah Pierce!
Does Not Disappoint!
This game keeps your mind & vocabulary fresh. The levels keep going and who knew I would be in level 22 and climbing. Playing into the wee hours of the morning when the work day is on the horizon is a no brainer. I will always play this game!!!!! Thanks for creating it and do not mess it up with updates. This game has longevity forever.
If You Like Boggle, You Will Love This
Better than Boggle. I love that the letters change as you make words. I mainly play on my iPad but can also play on my phone. My skills in seeing hidden words have improved so much that I roundly beat my two sisters who are Boggle champs over the holidays. This is my go-to game for stimulating my brain. Warning: Do not play before bed.
Great game
This word game is great fun! I enjoy it almost every day. Once you try the daily puzzle, you will return many times! The only criticism that I have is the incredible words the winners have each day leads me to believe they have computerized help. No one is that good without computer help. If that could be stopped, it would even be better!
Daily Puzzle 👍
The daily puzzle is the best because you get to see where you rate out of all the participants. You get to see the winning solution (which helps to learn for future games), and you get to play it as many times as you want to try to get the best score and the app will automatically save your best score!
Darn this game!
This game is fun and very addictive! It is keeping me from doing other things I should be doing rather than playing a word game. I love some of the features, such as being able to play the puzzle format without a timer, and being able to undo a move if you think of a better word.
Leaderboard Bug
There is an annoying bug in the Most Points: Puzzle leaderboard. A while ago, I got a score of 2060 on the Puzzle (not the Daily). Now my app injects this score into the leaderboard at random times. It seems to be triggered by just opening the app. I do not think that my app is corrupted because I have observed the same thing happen with another user, except with a score of 300, so it is not as obvious. My emails on this subject have gone unanswered.
PopWords daily puzzle
Since I downloaded IOS 9 to my IPad the daily puzzle does not advance. Is there a fix in the works? I really like playing this puzzle but have lost interest since I can't see my stats. I have sent several emails to the popwords creator but have not received a response nor has the puzzle been fixed. I quit playing. Update: January 17, 2016, the daily puzzle is now working after this recent update. I'm back to playing every day! Thanks Sarah! I'm still enjoying this game. I play it every day. I was offered an opportunity to buy it ad free for 2.99 which I would have taken advantage of but when I went to the App Store I couldn't find that offer. Disappointing because I really would like to skip the annoying ads.
HELP!
Can anyone help an old lady with what is probably a simple question? I bought the in app purchase to get rid of the annoying game commercials that pop up after each game but it only works on my iPhone and not my iPad. How can I get it to transfer to the iPad as well? I've tried things I've seen on line but nothing seems to work. And I've gotten no response after several emails to the developers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
