Updated review after Level 18 bug fixed

Now that I was able to finish the game after a bug in level 18 was fixed I can update this from my previous 1-Star review. Overall it’s an excellent puzzler.... with some minor issues. There’s a bit of a strange inconsistency with puzzle difficulty. Puzzles earlier in the game were sometimes harder than later levels, and the last level’s puzzles were shockingly easy (although appreciated to check out both possible endings). More importantly (and this is a complaint in the series), if a puzzle is completed and there’s nothing more to do, it would be nice after a cut scene if the game would back-step out a level automatically. But these are minor nitpicks.... overall good job!

    10 Stars!

I’m posting this on all three “Faraway” game reviews. These were THE most challenging and unbelievable games, I have ever played in iOS history. I am absolutely devastated that I just now finished the third one. I’m not sure what to do. PLEASE...whomever is the brains behind this just HAS to come out with a fourth! ...developers...can you shed any light on if there is a future for another one? I’m sorry to report that in my opinion, none of the other games even compare to these. While the graphics may be more advanced on the more recent games, the simplicity yet complexity of the first three cannot be surpassed. I bet you for more!

    Satisfying Conclusion to the Trilogy!

I’ve played both previous Faraway games and was so excited when this one came out! On the whole it’s as well-made and beautiful to play as it’s predecessors. I do think some of the puzzles were easier than in previous games, but finding the 3rd note for each level remains a challenge! Gameplay was relaxing and enjoyable, just as advertised, and the overall story concludes with juuuust enough information. It’s well worth the $2.99 for the full version, and I’m happy to support the development team that has provided me with so many hours of entertainment! Thanks for a fun ride, devs!

    Love the game but...

The game itself is great, much more enjoyable than I had anticipated when I downloaded it. The ads aren’t bad especially if you’ve played other games on IOS with them, very very minimal comparatively. The one and only complaint I have is I wish the game was longer, I played through the first 9 levels quickly and don’t want to pay 2.99 for the rest unless I’ll be able to spend time enjoying it. I did just download the first 2 to try them out. Overall though, I just want to say you guys made a very impressive game and I loved playing every minute of it.

    Amazing. A Must-Have App.

Wow, just wow. This game is a cleverly developed and designed masterpiece and it’s so sad to see how underrated it is. I’m shocked that no one is raving about it every chance they get, because every aspect of it is great. As proven by the pictures on the App Store, all of the visuals in the game are beautifully presented along with complex puzzles. I, personally, am not usually one to enjoy puzzle apps because I always just assume they’re going to be another Candy Crush copy, but this game is so unique and it has genuine puzzles, not like unoriginal bubble-shooters or three-in-a-row games. Definitely download this game.

    LOVE these games!

I really love these games! The music is soothing, the art is surreal and inviting, and the puzzles are fun; easy but not too w just enough challenge to make my brain work at figuring them out. I really love the < & > movement & don’t think the game should be in landscape mode. Part of the challenge (and fun) is not seeing everything in one frame. For me that’s more lifelike. We have to turn our heads to see things in real life & this movement gives that feel. I’ll be buying the full game! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    Very good!

Disclaimer: I only played the first 9 levels that are free. This game is very fun and for the most part easy to play. There are a lot of easier puzzles followed by one that’s really tricky sometimes and I like that. The only thing I would say about this game is that sometimes It’s hard to understand some of the puzzles, which can be argued that it’s part of the challenge. Also, the in game camera is a huge plus, and makes solving the puzzles a less frustrating task.

    Amazing game!!

I love this game! I got all three games and purchased the full thing. It's so hard to find games like these in the app store I was so happy to find it and it was way better than I expected. If you love adventure games and really like solving puzzles that really make you think than this is the game. I hope you make another great one with a cool story but I do wish it was way longer with more levels (:

    Amazing

I’ve played the first two and just found this one, I’ve only done the free versions though and I love these puzzles, this is what I expected from the game The Witness when I played it but that game was horrible, I’ve only left three reviews on games I enjoy, this is the third. I also have a question, can you only get two notes per level in the free version because I’ve never found 3 in a level

    Easy puzzles. Almost too easy.

The graphics caught my eye in their similarity to The Witness, but that’s where the similarity ends. The puzzles were so easy I often found myself second-guessing that I was doing it right. I thought I must have been missing something! The exception was for those puzzles that were completely baffling—and for those I did appreciate the hint system. I like that it showed me what to do. (Both endings seemed bad—I have no idea what the “success” ending was supposed to be.)

    A bit disappointed

The game is truly adventurous and fascinating. It is very time wasting and cured my boredom. The levels were creative and challenging. The graphics and designs of the mountains etc were amazing. The only thing i would complain about is the lack of levels. Yes, it gives you many to work on but, you have to pay in order to get the full package of levels. Which is highly inconvenient for me. Other than that great game!

    Beautiful as usual, but…

I went ahead and bought the full game because I love what the developer is doing, unfortunately Faraway 3 has nowhere near the challenge of Faraway 2. I am flying through the levels and not trying all that hard. Honestly, on most levels you just do things, there’s no real puzzle involved, and when there are puzzles involved they’re all the same on each level and they are just not that difficult. Faraway 2 had me stymied several times and I felt like it took a lot of thought, but this game is nowhere near the challenge. I must admit I’m a bit disappointed. Please do a Faraway 4 that is as challenging as Faraway 2

    Was really hoping for more

I loved the earlier games in this series as they were not only creative but the puzzles were challenging and progressively more difficult. This game hardly feels like the same care was put into it. The puzzles are really just tasks you must complete. Many were repetitive and offered no challenge at all. There’s also a lot of just having to move many steps back and forth between locations just to accomplish these tasks. I really hope that their next game returns to the creativity and challenge of the earlier ones as this one was quite disappointing.

    Very boring puzzle game

I downloaded this game because Apple made it a front page story. I’m surprised to find how boring it is. Does Apple have no good game to recommend? This is one of the most boring puzzle game I’ve played. I purchased additional levels and finished all, and not a single puzzle impressed me. They’re neither challenging nor interesting. The types of puzzles are a lot, but for each type there’re just 3 or 4 of them, including one super trivial “tutorial” one. Many mechanisms are no puzzles, e.g. just slide a switch to open a door. It also doesn’t require much discovery to find out which path to go as most of the times there’s only one accessible. It’s a waste of both money and time.
