    Very satisfying

Warlords is a collection and strategy turn based game that in a nutshell reminds me of chess and Rock Paper Scissors. You collect unit leaders that you control on the battlefield the health of those units is determined by how many soldiers it has. You upgrade your units with upgrades you win from battles and you can equip them with weapons, armor and war banners that raise their stats and critical chance. Another thing about this game you may or may not be familiar with is ranking up your units by collecting the units shards. Each unit can be ranked up to 5 stars and you can buy shards via offers or the war harbor using PvP tokens you win from PvP battles. This game isn’t only PvP as the main game basically consists of clearing shire territories on a big map that has boss battles,,invading brigands, stronghold type endless battles and normal battles. Overall this game is very fun and addictive and has a great look to it. Gameplay is definitely a 10/10 as you have to strategize and choose the right units that are effective against other unit types. On a final note, this game does have micro transactions but it’s not that bad. The game is very F2P friendly. So download and try it out, I think you might like it.

    Returning after a long hiatus

I started playing this game when it first came out. It was so fun! I got really far but eventually lost my game and save data. I came back a while later and tried to get my save data but was told unless I knew my player id number, I couldn’t get it restored. I was a bit upset by this and didn’t come back at that time. Some more time passed and I’m back again, starting from scratch. I just wanted to write this review because the game really is that good and it’s gotten better over time! Thank you for finally having save data back up. The character shard acquiring has gotten more fluid and the added farmable quests have made liking characters so much better! I remember when you didn’t have the ability to farm the one mat that you needed to get your one character up to snuff, but now you can! Great job with this game, keep the expansions coming!

Excellent game. Not pay to win.

If you like turn-based, hex-map combat games (which I do), this is a great one. Because much of the content scales to your level, you don’t need to pay money to advance. Like any freemium game, players can always drop some cash to quickly level and advance their armies, or reduce cool-down times. I have never spent a penny, and have patiently brought my armies along. The recently added alliance quests bring new life to the game, and allow even new players to contribute equally toward alliance-level rewards. My only ask of the developers is this: please introduce some sort of arena-style play with true, live PVP. Even turn-based games can have live PVP! Figure it out! It would make this good game an all-time-great!

    Could’ve been five star but . . .

So I noticed the gameplay is different from the PC version but this kind of turn based strategy is also fun ; since I was fond of Fire Emblem . Overall this game is fun and the story / dialogue isn’t bad like other games I’ve played . The only one issue I’m very disappointed is with redeeming the merchant ship is tabbed right over the smuggler ship where if someone accidentally double tapped to redeem the merchant ship , they could redeem the smuggler ship for 190 diamonds without even being asked if that was intended . I would appreciate getting the 190 diamonds back . You can even take away 1 or 2 thousand gold / credits away which is reasonable for the rewards I got . Thank you for your time and again overall this game is enjoyable and was a fan of the pc version . Just really needs a system of asking whether someone is sure if they want to use their diamonds . Hope to get a response to know this certain system is being improved .

Worth 5 stars but you are only giving it 3?

As long as you have new territory to unlock, this game is a 5 star rating. Sure there are some annoying bugs in it. I still get a mismatch error and I have to restart my device from time to time in order to fix it and continue playing. Sometimes you get a constant marching sound and you have to get the game to fully restart in order to get rid of it. It’s annoying but the actual gameplay is fun and you can be strategic as it does take some thought in what you do and how to play to ultimately beat this game. That’s the unfortunate part. You can beat it and you can do it without collecting all of the characters and without being on their max level and without cheating all based on your strategies. Once you have conquered all the land, there’s really no point in playing this game anymore. Sure, you can log back in a couple times a day and spend a few minutes cleaning out the 5 pvps on your screen and fight a boss for a couple of minutes. Maybe spend a few on strongholds (which aren’t properly scaled to give you endless combative challenges) and that’s it. There’s no heroic/nightmare version unlocked to further challenge yourself to reconquer all the lands a second or third time to keep you engaged. Any new land added just takes a day or two for you to conquer and then you feel like you’ve beaten it again. Sad. Not sure what the point is to continue playing it if I have beaten it.

    Good game, 2 major flaws

This is a good game. The mechanics are good, and everything seems balanced and fair. I do find that plying it is very grinding, where you do the same thing over and over for loot to grow. Same with the online competitions, though those are even worse. I personally enjoyed their previous multiplayer experience better as it allowed one to play casually and not have to grind constantly to get a good rank. It is a terrible killer of the games fun. The biggest draw back: starting the app to download updates. I HATE apps that force this on players. When there is a new update, you have to download it from the App Store. Then, when you launch the app, you have to ‘download additional content’. This additional content only downloads while the app is open, so I have to sit and wait for 15 minutes while my device is getting this content. Everything needed to play should be downloaded through the App Store, so that this data can be downloaded in the back ground, not locking my entire device from doing anything else. It is very disrespectful of players and their time, especially since the App Store generally downloads this content much more quickly.

Good game that needs some help

Honestly a great game, the graphics are cartooney but qre made up by the map layout and artwork of characters that be aquired. As well all characters can be aquired just by plqying the game no gimids no cheap pay to win models that screw the little guy. The pvp system is fun by giving you random oppenoents to fight across the map and can by changed once for each oppornent. As that being said more about pcp fights would be a great help to earn more rewards. With all this being said the gane does have its flaws with leveling up as well as the grind. If grinding aint your thing then this game might not be for you as tye further along you get the game will become slower and slower almost to a halt in some areas. That is why I would love more abilities to earn xp potions (which are quite rare) or more campaign aign fights that i can replay or go back to to earn gold to help increase progress. Overall fun and intersting, but needs tweaks with leveling up characters and slow roll of grind.

Impulse buying is a terrible business model

I have been playing this game for around six months. It is an enjoyable game if you don’t care about leveling up or having any gold or any good regiments. My biggest issue is the blatant attempt at getting the player to impulse buy when a new regiment unlocks. I appreciate that the regiments do not unlock until the player clicks on the button. The issue here is that when a regiment unlocks, the player has only 24 hours to by the upgrade pack at a ridiculous $34! Why would the developer expect the player to just drop that amount of money on a regiment that may or may not be good at all? $34 is a lot for the upgrade pack if the player doesn’t get to try the regiment out first. I have at least five regiments waiting to unlock because I have to have the money set aside for the upgrade pack just in case the regiment is worth the investment. It seems to me that the developers would want players to get the upgrade packs, but at $34 with only 24 hours to decide, it seems they might actually be hurting their chances of a sale. I mentioned in the recent survey that they should either make the upgrade packs cheaper or make them available long term or just have any variety at all with different costs for more or less stuff when a regiment is unlocked. I am more likely to spend $20 for a little less in the upgrade packs than $34 for the whole thing.

    Repetitive and EXTREMELY Upkeep Intensive

I played for three days and got to Warlord Level 6 before deleting. The game initially lures you in with blazing fast progression and trivially easy difficulty (which of course is exactly when it chooses to flood you with offers requiring real money) but then, if you didn’t pony up (which I did not) level 5 hits and you hit a wall. The game doesn’t become difficult, but you have to CONSTANTLY be logging in. One night I slept for 8 hours, did things around the house for about 4 hours and then logged in (only 12 hours since my previous login) and I had SIX areas being invaded that I needed to defend. The amount of free time, or money, a person would have to have in order to play this game all the way to the end (which I’m defining as max Warlord Level) is ABSURD. And if you don’t put cash in it will take eternity to get there. Combat is mildly entertaining but it quickly gets repetitive. All in all the game is simply not fun enough or rewarding enough to justify all that it demands.

    Alliances

I was scrolling through alliances trying to find one where more than 8 players were active at a time from the recommended alliances. Maybe clearing out players who have been afk for a while might be better than leaving alliances with 30 players who aren’t active. That way people who do play can actually join random groups of other active players. Also I was really enjoying the game and even purchased a pack to support the devs, since I’m only a month into the game, but the recovery time of an hour makes this game less and less enjoyable and the prospect of it being pay to play is extremely sad that devs would rather waste peoples time than provide a streamlines experience. Having bundles is one thing but when I have to pay for Ds to revive a unit or wait an hour to do anything it makes the game grind feel unrewarding and overall feels like the devs don’t really care much about what the game is as long as the money is still coming in from whales and impulse buyers.

    Pls fix

Star with strong hold which with the name u would think be fun and rewarding when you unlocked! Think again rewards are joke , coins for missions on this game is like finding 1€ during your life time , my recommendation for developers yes I get it u have to make money which I have spend close to 500 but make it more rewarding, you drop rate for farming is like 15% every 10 farm u get the items u trying to get a the mission cost a lot to, like balance it out . Your character are not balanced with there abilities. Yes I’m talking after spending hrs on this game , your experience per mission are like blind man with out walking stick . Things to improve 1: need to be more rewarding for missions 2: balance characters better with there abilities 3: in prove drop rate for farming missions on your dailies 4: stop making the same level up items need it every time you go up levels make it unique not same old . 5: your PVP has no feed back , you can’t see if people attack your team , you can’t talk global, you clan rewards are joke . 6: character attack need better animations so as to feel part of your warriors and part of the history 7: your story line is cry out for help !!!! If you guys don’t target this simple list you players will get board right away and move on to other games . Overall the game idea is great, great detail on characters background but doesn’t match the crappy story telling .

    Money Grab

They have ruined the game with the most recent update. They stole our gear that many people spent money on. They stole the ability to customize our units, and made it near impossible to upgrade them without dumping loads of cash into the game. Lost over 10 members from our clan, and many more said that if 1 million or more gold is not given to compensate for all the mythical items that were stolen they are leaving the game. Every single mythical item they stole costs 100,000 gold to get back from scratch. How much did they give you for it? Zero zilch nada. I had mythical waiting for my members to reach 23, took a lot of time and resources to collect them, and because my troops were only levels 20-22 they stole them and gave no means to replace them. So what took almost 6 months to year to collect they took in one day and said this is for your Benefit. What crooks, they said it was to fix a in game exploit. There was no exploit, it was one of the better features of the game available to all, the ability to change equipment on your characters. If for some reason you felt that people equipping lesser equipment which made fights harder and gave higher pvp points in return, then why didn’t you simply restrict players from equipping lower level equipment then their current rank? I’ll tell you why, because then you couldn’t try to extort more money out of people. Don’t download this game it’s not worth your time the devs are a bunch of crooks

    Ridiculous

I’m at level 10 and can’t advance any further because the battles have become ridiculously difficult. For example, I have to face 4 mages that are level 2 and rank 8 92 health along with a spear that is level 2 rank 8 with 220 health. There’s no technique that is going to allow me to win, I’ve tried over and over. And all the other battles I can engage in are of similar difficulty so there’s no point in even playing anymore. And develops don’t bother with saying oh you have to change your tactics. There’s no tactics that are going to allow me to win against this team, I’ve tried dozens of times at this point and they are just way too powerful. I don’t see why you make battles that are impossible to win with the troops that I currently have. But I can’t get more troops without being able to progress. It’s ridiculous and a blatant attempt to force you to pay $68 for new troops. Sorry I don’t make enough money to spend $68 on a game, so I’m glad that the developers make so much money that they find this to be a negligible amount

    Money grab

This game is just a money grab although it’s fun it targets the weakest unit even if they lose the battle the whole point is for you to spend diamonds killing the units that you need to participate in alliance missions I can get decisive victories just be putting a weak unit in my mix also there difficulty is off some are easier but it makes it difficult to play when the opponents critical chance is no where close to yours I’ve played missions where they almost constantly it’s a real turn down to play this game my guess is opponents have over 50% chance to critical in battles with 3 skulls they kill my strongest units almost all the time with crits making me have to wait over an hour to play again the only way to complete alliance mission is to bring a unit with 1 health in the mission and why is it always the weakest units that you need to bring in to complete missions. I just fought a pvp battle with 2 skulls and the first 12 hits were critical in a row how are you suppose to win with those odds thrown at you
