    Invigorating

This app has its up and downs, but I can’t do it justice. The storyline seems bland and basic at first, however drawing you in. You’re given cliches that warp into a rollercoaster. There are sudden deaths, twists and turns, plot twists and hilarity in obscure places. The story wasn’t like a game, it was like reading a book, and I found myself constantly wanting to know more. Though childish at times, I loved it. Motivation is never lacking. There are always new units, new combos, new items, and new obstacles. You’re never held back by in app purchases. There are constantly new challenges and side quests, most weekends rooms to speed up your progress. I enjoyed the progression. Your given units get you far enough through the game to let time to get better units. The first three units when later worked on even become extremely valuable to your team. I’ve played this game forever, feels like a year, and I’ve only just beat the first season. Take your time, enjoy yourself. I sure as hell did.

    fantastic final fantasy

My first FF was 4 (what we called 2 here in US) when i was a child, i've been a life long fan since. but i haven't really liked any of the games past X and X2. this game finally gave me the old school traditional FF play that i remember from the old games. i truly think Brave Exvius is one i the best final fantasy games ever made, and by far the best in over 15 years. i have beloved characters from final fantasy 4, 6(my fav), 7, tactics, 9, and even X. it's like a dream team, and they keep making even more awesome characters. yes it can be very difficult at times to get characters you want, but there is plenty to keep you entertained day to day and before you know it you'll have some of your favs. plus you get to bring along a friend and they often have cool characters for you to use. because that's what the FF series has always been about, cool heroic characters. i've been playing for over two years now and i probably will for years to come.

    Great but an Installation Nightmare

I played this game actively, obsessively from November 2016 until earlier this year in 2020. This game was a serious part of my life and for a long time I felt it deserved 5 stars. But the game becomes incredibly stale for gamers, every additional level. Also it becomes way overly complicated. But most importantly, my biggest dealbreaker is how often they’d update the game and I was forced to reinstall 2gigs of game many many many many times. The thing is that you MUST have the game open and watch a loading bar for 10-15 minutes. It breaks up your day, and i have gone multiple days not installing it because I’m just too tired or too busy to sit through a loading screen. The game simply got too big and it is a chore to maintain. There are SO many things in the game to try to check in on every day. At some point it feels like work. And the reinstallations were my dealbreaker. I actually reached a breaking point from it. It really helped me curb the addiction so ironically I think the game’s awful loading times helped free me from this obsession. That’s how bad it gets. And I just have zero interest in reinstalling. Thank you for the hundreds and hundreds of hours I got to waste away with small pleasures. RIPU (rest in peace uninstalled).

    Fun but Frustrating

The game itself is great. People complaining about having to pay to enjoy the game are either impatient or can’t control their impulse to buy. Strategy is just as important as top units. And that includes building out the units you have strategically and planning your teams. Some of the best units are limited, so of course you can’t expect to get them unless there’s a banner. Recently I was disappointed not to get a couple must-have, but limited banner units. Yet around the same time, I managed to pull Tidus and Aileen. Both rainbow units. I spent nothing. So why only 3 stars? I’m frustrated with GUMI’s quality control and how they’ve structured their updates. I’ll give them credit for trying to fix issues quickly. But why are there always so many? And the thing I hate most is the weekly maintenance. Too frequent and for too long. Do other games have to put up with this? I’ve played other mobile games, including a couple of other gacha games, and I’ve never experienced this before? Is it just me? I’m okay with a couple hours here and there. But seriously? After 10 hours of last night’s “maintenance”, they’ve extended it for further emergency maintenance until who knows when. This isn’t the first time. I suppose the upside is that we get lots of compensation gifts. 🙄

    Good game but....

This is honestly a good game. It fills a lot of boredom gaps throughout the day. It’s also the one game I’ve played that makes me hate the Square Enix name. Banners are like impossible goals to some and part of me feels that Gumi pre-determines your character pool at the star of your game. If you have a favorite character that comes and goes, your chance of getting him/her are very very VERY slim unless your chosen to get it. The drop percentages mean nothing. For example... Cloud and Sephiroth comes out, everyone wants the naturally. You save up 50 tickets, countless 5 star or 10+1 guarantees, use them all over a period of a few days and not get either. However, you get 17 of the same other characters on the banner. Then what makes it worse, you do your daily arena burn and run across someone that was able to pull 5 cloud/sephiroths. The games dynamics are completely flawed for a fair balance and I think that’s hurt the fan base. For me, I tend to get tanks and mages, nothing else. If they can find a way to fix their biased system, it would be an amazing experience but honestly I’m tired of my rainbow pulls being the same 2-3 I already have, especially when you pull directly from an event banner. Come on Gumi/Square... you’re killing your fan base on a really good game...

    Keeps Crashing

I have been playing this game for almost 2 - 3 years now , and ever since i have loaded this game on my ipad it has been probably one of the worst experiences i have ever had with a game. This is unacceptable performance , and I know its not just my ipad , i have a 6th gen 9.7 ipad 32 gig internal brand new , fully updated no apps running in background , and I do not use a vpn. Every now and then I would get crashing as in the app completely closing out when I’m in the middle of doing something and have to load back in , but since currant updates on the ffbe app It’s practically every few minutes of playing , its constantly going back to the home screen and have to load back into the app. This is a problem that 1000’s of people are experiencing , all you have to do is read the forums so I know its the app since it doesn’t do it with any other game or app on my device ! I am getting very frustrated with the development of this game especially since i really do like it and have invested my own money to support the staff in keeping this game going for as long as it has. Please fix this problem because if it keeps up I probably will lose faith in this company and never play this game again ! ( as of now i am giving this game 2 stars until its updated properly to work with iOS efficiently )

I got stuck in arena battle

The game is great and i love playing it. Keeps me busy and there are areas you can farm if you have the time, but thats only if you dont want to pay. The game is great. However it crashes allot, ever since the new update something just happened to the game. So i ended up deleting the game and reinstalling to fix the home screen from crashing and now im in another situation where i am stuck in a arena battle and i cant escape it as it keeps crashing when i play it, if i click on menu it crashes and even when i delete and reinstall back the game my saved facebook data has me trapped in this loop. It continues to put me back at the start of the arena battle and i can never get pass the 6 round before it crashes again and i cant cancel the match because menu also crashes when i select it. So it killed the game for me. It was great while it lasted but for anyone that plays, i would avoid arena battles until they get the glitch fixed, great game but the constant crashing is whats killing the game. Would give it a four star rating but because i cant play anymore seeing that im stuck in the arena battle i give it two stars.

    Long time player - Unhappy

I have been playing this game for two years. Though the game is inherently good, the company running it has been slowly eroding the confidence I, and others, have in this game. Of course the main premise of this game is gacha. A new system implemented about a month ago requires two copies of the same rare unit to evolve it to its strongest level (7*). In order to offset for the much lower likelihood of pulling two units, the Japanese origin of this game implemented a “unit of choice” summon. This allowed all 5 star base (e.g. rare) units to be pulled after collecting 10 tickets. In the Japanese version of this game, you can get two per mog event (monthly event). Global a first version of this only allows 1 ticket to be summoned. This essentially makes a unit of choice unit obtainable every YEAR rather than half a year. And then the truncated the pool from ALL 5 star units to only the select few that can be upgraded to 7 star. What if the player wants a specific unit for nostalgia, team composition, or their trust mastery? That coupled with very stingy daily log in rewards, poor communication, and various bugs (some even known from the first content roll out in the Japanese version) are causing me to write this review. I’ve been playing daily for about two years, unless things drastically change for the better my time with this game will end. Strongly consider before downloading and investing in this game.

Always at least a little broken... now unplayable

I don't know what they did to this game in its latest update (it looks as if the new onboarding UI broke everything), but all the scrolling options on the home screen other than World (which crashes the game when you tap it) are titled ??? instead of Craft/Esper/Vortex/Colosseum, and are disabled. Practically all you can do now is buy and spend the game's premium currency. Quests also send you straight back to the home screen. Even deleting the app and reinstalling it on my iPhone, then logging back in to my Facebook account, won't fix it. After two absurd Ariana Grande events which have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Final Fantasy, a 1% 5* base drop rate that doesn't even guarantee getting characters that are any good (many of the best are 4* base) and literally getting the same crappy character during each daily free pull seven days in a row, finding out they can't secure their admin tools, and watching people create brand new accounts and easily pull better characters than accounts that have been around since day one, it really feels as if I should just delete the app again and leave it that way. If you want an RPG with Final Fantasy characters in it, play Record Keeper instead. Even if they resolve all the interface problems, Brave Exvius can't be fixed.

    Gambling simulator

I’ve been playing this game for a while now it’s really fun up to a point where you hit the pay to win wall the odds of getting anything good in this game are so low you have a better chance of winning the lottery that’s not even the only thing bad about this money hole of a game when something goes wrong in your game you have to deal with the terrible customer service and automated messages that don’t do anything for you or help you at all sometimes you have to wait days for any type of response their fb or online service isn’t any better either they only respond to people who pay hundreds of dollars every week and act like they care about their players when they throw free stuff at you to not be mad about their mess ups and 8 hour long maintenance every single week on a mobile game this game is not worth spending money on especially when’s there is only a 1% chance to get anything remotely useable to play the game not recommended what so ever and I have been playing FF games for over 12 years now this game disgraces the FF name and honestly should be removed from the App Store completely they should deff have a warning before playing the game about gambling and put a hotline number for gambling addiction I’ll change my rating and review once this game gets its crap together thanks.

I really have to say it

This game is the only game that ive played regularly on mobile and im lvl 135 now. But after a year playing it theres only one thing that (for me) never change since the first time im playing it; a really, really, really, bad server. Its really hard for only just accessing into the game, especially when the game want to download the dlc after the maintenance, the “error” thing showed up after finishing download that makes the game have to redownload the dlc all over again, even tho the same thing, same error, happened again. the problem here but why sometimes the game just go straight error after finish downloading the dlc when im using the wifi? I know my wifi is not the fastest but at least its more stable than my phone internet. You said it yourself that “using wifi connection is recommended” but why when im using my mobile data even only with the 3g connection the download just fine with no single error at all????? I mean why i have to waste my internet data when i got more stable connection like wifi??????? Keeps experiencing this after the maintenance just makes me so frustrated, i just want to play the game is that so hard to do? Hope things get better in the future or believe me you wont be able to attract new user with server like this.

    Enough Is Enough

This game used to be great. But look at the differences between the JP version and the GL version. Gumi took away half the Unit of Choice tickets you could earn in a Mog King event, delayed the 7* updates, botched out Unit of Choice tickets in the September Login Rewards, ONLY HALF OF THE 7* BATCHES IN GL THAN IN JP, reduced ticket rewards per month to force players into whaling more, constant step up banners that don’t even have good rates on the units one would want most, changing the 10+1 ticket rewards to a 5+1 ticket, put more emphasis on EX tickets than standard tickets we could use on ANY BANNER WE WANTED TO, whereas EX tickets only work from a pool of standard units instead of new banners, hotfixing bugs that benefit the players and “apologizing for the inconvenience” within a few hours and almost completely ignoring the actual bugs that inconvenience the players for a few weeks, terrible bundles, a huge lack of communication... It just feels like Gumi is intentionally ruining the game by having the JP version gain much more benefits compared to the GL version. The greed is clear as day, and I’m simply disappointed. This list doesn’t even contain half the main issues of what Gumi’s doing to the game... If you play this game, don’t whale on it. Just send the message, since Gumi is flipping the bird on its own player base.

Good game being ruined by greedy company

This is normally a pretty good, fun gacha game. The gameplay is like an older final fantasy title and there is a lot of content to work your way through. However, recently a system to get even stronger units was released, and to do it you need two copies of the same max rarity unit. This wouldn’t necessarily be a problem, since the Japanese version of this game became much more generous with ways to get 5 stars in general and even made a system that lets you choose a specific 5 star to get every few months. This version instead reacted by becoming even stingier with 5 stars. The monthly login rewards have actually gotten worse since January-March, and the unit-of-choice system is being neutered. Instead of being able to pick any 5 star every 2-3 months, even if they’re brand new, this game only lets you pick from a small pool of 5 stars where new units are only added weeks after they became available. If the current pace continues, you would only be able to pick a unit every 6 months, which is absurdly slow. I really hope that Gumi will turn their policies around because this is a very fun game, but until they do I’m not going to spend any more money on it and would not recommend starting to play.

    Bugs and game crashes constantly..

I am a long time FFBE fan since the first day the game was released and I have enjoyed every moment of it until December. The game began to be buggy, slow, and constant game crashes. My device is an iPhone 6+ with plenty of memory to spare and I close other apps running in the background so my cpu is free for FFBE. I had to reinstall the game several time from scratch and using their recommended install procedures if one were to log in using Facebook. It was a long process that became annoying when I have to do it each update. I had FFBE on my iPad but even with the most current IOS.. the game would crash after attempting to start. Please fix these bugs!!! Why focus on visuals to correctly display in game purchase prices when the game doesn’t even run without the possibility of the game glitching and crashing due to conflicting data. I know others share this experience on reddit and other platforms and I am not the only one and it’s been 3 months since December. The game overall is fun but the chance for rolls on a unit that you want is horrible. Be prepared to milk almost everything you have to draw something worth even using.. tired of drawing units from friend point banners using tickets/gems.... Regards, One sad ffbe fan..
