The game is really fun and addicting
Let me say that this game is not paid to win. Using money to get you coins won’t always give you the greatest characters in the game, that takes time. If you play long enough, you’ll make it near the top. Since six stars have came in, people don’t start, and I don’t see why. If I were you, I’d start now, there use to not be six stars, and since you start now, you have a way bigger chance of getting one. So, with that said, the game is fun and addicting, I have played this game for over two years and it has never gotten old. The events are fun, and the roadmaps are challenging. The graphics are amazing, and the motions are cool. Also, some advice for starters, just keep playing. You may not get a cool character at first, but with time, you’ll have a good team. I started about a year or two ago, and I have a S3+ team that is strong. So don’t give up, keep moving through.
Pay to win, must have an active and good clan to be fun.
I love this game to death, I play it everyday and actually enjoy it because I got into a high level clan but you have to play it everyday or risk missing out on some small things. It’s all very pay to win. People spend hundreds of dollars just to get a 6* and most likely end out with a 5*. Or you can just buy a 100 dollar “one time offer” that appears right after the counter goes away for the character you want. There’s a lot of trickery going on like hiding the odds of you getting anything good, making you think you’re gonna get an OP character but get a common one. I only bought one thing on this game and it was a pass where you got 70 coins a day it was worth it but that’s the only thing you should buy. Other than that just play everyday, keep grinding and be patience. The game is slow and hard at first but gets really fun after a month.
Good Game, but f2p Options Very Limited
I'm a college student who has played for a bit over a year now. As many others have stated, this game is extremely addicting and a fun pastime; however, it's main flaw is the paying aspect of it. If you are a f2p (free to play) gamer and you want to make it to the top, this is not the best choice for you. It also takes a lot of time and effort to get anywhere, so that is another aspect you should take into account. Some of the upsides of the game is it's diversity, interactivity, and group dynamics. You will likely be a part of a team in this game. It's how you will participate in most tournaments. What makes this game unique is that there are people from all over the world that you can talk to and get to know. One "region," or server, may have 10-30k players. So, it always a fun, competitive environment. All in all, this game is decent but with a major pay to play flaw. Good luck to any newcomers.
Dont need to pay to win
Let me begin by saying I have not spent a penny on this game so far. It’s true that spenders will have an advantage, but the key thing is that if you don’t spend you can definitely be one of the top 200 players and do well! Spending only expedites the process, but for me, slowly building my team is part of the fun. You can’t be one of the top top players if you dont spend, but that’s okay. You can still make it to a top 10 faction easily and make a hefty contribution. It doesnt even take a long time, maybe around a month or two of daily checking on the game to reach that level. All in all, the game currently has a good balance between pay to win and free to play, the gameplay itself is engaging, and the community (at least in my region) has been nothing less than nice and welcoming.
Would be really fun. If I could play it
I’ve been playing road to survival since it first came out and I’ve had multiple problems with my account and at one point my entire save was deleted. However these things have been fixed in the past and so I continue to play to this day. Well that would be if I could get into the game. Right now I have a problem with actually being able to play the game. Every time I open the game it will let me in but after a few seconds In the game the game restarts and sends me right back to the same starting page that you get when you open the app up. This problem continues to happen regardless of how many times I delete the game and reinstall, close the app, restart my device, etc. I’ve tried pretty much everything Bc I’ve spent over 100 dollars and have had this account for over three years now and have a lot of progress built up in the game. I don’t know if this is a problem with the game data but I’m assuming there’s something wrong with my actual account Bc I’ve switched my account back and forth between two of my mobile devices and both of them have this restarting problem. Any chance anyone knows what to do?
It’s improving
A few years back I gave this game a 1 star star rating because of how difficult it was to get good characters in this game. The only way you were able to get what you want was with either years and years of patience or you buy it with expensive in-game gold for a 1% chance to get something good. Recently they have added a few ways to get the new s class characters a little bit easier. For example: the new s class willie. Through out the event you can collect rubix cubes in which you can use to redeem your 5 star willies, ascend them, and then convert to s class. It took about 3 weeks but it was pretty much a guarantee that you’d get one as long as you played everyday and collected your free daily rewards. No money required. Now that is much better. Honestly, if they continue to do that, this game will surely be liked more. I mean yeah everyone will soon get all the new characters and soon won’t be as fun, but that’s when strategizing comes into play and weapons. I liked the fact of grind for the new s class willie. After all, it’s a mobile game. The battle pass was also a fun way to grind for extra rewards. That is my two cents I wanted to share.
Great game but...
Don’t get me wrong I’m a sucker for the walking dead and everything that has to do with it and I think this game captures it very well with walkers doing a lot of damage and if you wanted to instantly kill walkers all you had to do was land a headshot. While the humans were a much tougher fight and posed a threat. There’s a lot this game has to offer even after I beat the story (which took a while) like raids and territories and building my dream team. Now this is where I draw the line on when I said dream team in order for me to get the dream team that I want i would have to keep opening premier recruit cases and something funny that happened the last time I opened a premier recruit case was that I got a 3* character. Now I really don’t like to complain but this and paying 5 dollars for 330 coins only to open 1 premier recruit case just to have a slim chance of getting a 6* character is what leaves me unhappy. But all I ask is that it’s taken into consideration to make getting 6* characters in a premier recruit case a little more possible. Other than that I love the game for what it is and wouldn’t spend my free time on my phone doing anything else
PAY TO WIN
As expected, this game is not fair. It is difficult and time consuming to level up fairly, without any money involved but that is expected on PAY TO WIN games. However there are some aspects in the game that just make it ridiculous. For example the raid system to me, seems unfair. I have just started a new game and when raid became available to me, I tried it out and immediately, my first 3 games I was matched with people who had better and more elite characters/weapons than my beginning characters. The tournaments are unfair as well. Again, this is a PAY TO WIN game, so the tournament only reward to people who are already way ahead of everyone else. Read that carefully, unless you have spent a ridiculous amount of time and money into this game, the tournaments mean nothing. You will see it all over your screen when logging in and you’ll see tournaments of every kind everywhere. Oh, and as for the PAY TO WIN option, don’t put any money into this game. Or if you do, DO NOT GAMBLE. The game makes it seem like you’ve got a good chance to score something good but in reality it’s like winning a lottery. And say you did get a decent character. You’ll have to slave away, roll the dice, and possibly pay the money for the extremely rare equipments to level up the characters (yes, once you finally get a super rare/remotely rare character, you’ll need super rare/remotely rare items before upgrading them).
Sub par game with awful community
While this game is a walking dead spin off of similar games to the Star Wars galaxy of heroes, DCs legends, and the marvel one with an “assemble squad” gameplay mechanic, it does it in a much worse fashion. While in the other games there is a way to make most if not all toons viable this game locks what can be made into end game material behind chance draws (see ascendables). And while it does have its redeeming qualities at times, the main problem this game faces is its lack of control over the community. If it weren’t for the community the game would probably be maybe 4 or 3 stars but the community is among the most toxic I’ve ever come across. They claim there is a system to deal with the behaviors but this game is plagued by hackers and many people who have the manners of a middle schooler trying to act cool to his friends. There is a report feature, however what it takes to have someone actually take action is unknown as I was told to kill myself and told I looked like a slave and their accounts were untouched. Seeing as how a key aspect of this game is social interaction, having such awful things being spewed out on a daily basis is quite condemning of its success. TL DR: unimaginative reskin of common squad assembly games with slightly more anti consumer techniques and one of the worst communities around.
Was great, now it’s a huge pay to win
Used to play this game all the time. I deleted it for some reason and didn’t play for a few months. When I get back on I’m bombarded with ads to buy stuff like characters, items, and character mods. Hardly any fair new events. All of them you need to have insanely good teams to play. Super time consuming just to level up a character. Plus it seems pointless to level up cause if I spend $25 a month I could get a new character ever day. The games lost its touch. It used to feel like a “road to survival” to make it to the top and survive. I’m a huge fan of the comics so I just want a team that fits. I don’t like putting together a team with something like Negan and Glenn or with Rick with his metal arm with Lori. So if it was easier to level up and get characters fairly and not so time consuming I’d say it’s still good. Of course I’ll still play it but I’m getting burnt out fast. I’ve been playing again for 2 months and haven’t gotten hardly anywhere. They need more events with good rewards for everyone, not just for S5+ teams but also for B++ teams. Cause although I have fairly high leveled teams (S1+) it seems too weak in the events.
Waste of time and money
This game and its developers are all about the money and the greed for money in my opinion! Don’t waste your time or money. I have been playing for two years and have waited to do a review until I had a true assessment of the game. You have two options, pay a lot of money to advance or be on the game all the time to advance and not have a life. Now that they started this “club membership” where you pay a monthly fee, it is almost impossible to advance without paying. Also don’t be surprised when you have spent all your money and or time to advance, They’ll come out with a whole new set of characters that makes the ones you have worthless. They’ve done it before with 5 star to new 6 star characters, I’m sure they will do it again. The game seems to be unfairly rigged when it comes to raiding other members. For example if you are ranked 500 in raids and the member you have been paired with the fight is ranked 350 your chances of winning are almost impossible. However you have the option of choosing another member if you spend food. The game should randomly pick from all the players. It doesn’t, I could hit the select A different number 10 times and it will not give me a member ranked at 650 or higher. As a result you can’t win any of the good rewards in the raid tournaments to advance. Don’t waste your time or money with this game.
Scopely is Greedy
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING ANY OF THIS COMPANIES GAMES. Only way to compete in this game is to pay hundreds of dollars for a “chance” at their premier toons. People recently watched as all the money they spent became worthless when 6 Star characters were brought into the game. So the people who spent $$$ thousands $$$ of dollars to make a great five star team have now realized all the money spent was for nothing since 5 Star characters are now garbage. So go ahead and spend tons of money just to have the company update the game and make what you spent money on worthless. And the lies they told when they did this saying 6 Star characters would only be available via ascension was a huge lie since they throw out 6 Star premier characters twice a week but then they tell their players they don’t have enough developers to make some of the 5 Star characters in the game ascendable. So if you want to compete you need to spend $100 to pull 40 toons and you’re only guaranteed ONE 5 Star character which did I mention 5 Star characters are now garbage? There’s tons of glitches as well that they don’t fix or compensate their players. You can message game support with a glitch that cost your or your faction stuff and they will NEVER compensate you. So much for the PLAYER FIRST attitude that was promised back in July. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS GAME OR COMPANY. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT PROFIT.
Waste of time and money
100% pay to win. Anyone who don’t use money and people who use little money in this game will never have a chance to reach the top. 95% of all the battles I have fought in, I lost. I’m always out geared, their characters always out perform mine and cheaters. (A team I fought was an A ranked team, mine was an S7+. I couldn’t even damage them. Their HPs never dropped.) I was getting pretty decent stuffs from my daily loot boxes until recently where I’ve been getting just cards. Cards don’t help me one bit. My level is below level 20. Those cards doesn’t seem to have any use at all. So garbage for a monthly subscription. I like the game and the concept of the game. However, the communities are not friendly (some of them are quite toxic), the costumer service is garbage, the game’s loot system has become even more garbage, especially when you’re paying about $40 a month for that daily loot through their subscription choices and it is no longer a fun game to free to play or players who spends a little in the game. It’s not fun to be under level 20 and get raided by levels 150+ and lose almost every single battle.
Pay to Win
To be honest, I played this game years ago, stopped playing, then redownloaded because it was so good. But now with the use of these six star legendary characters, it no longer matters how much time and effort you put in or how much skill/ stately you possess. Once these six star champions come into play, raids are boring and pointless. Right now seemingly everyone has a six star Glenn. The literal millions of resources you put together to level up you 4 star character to level four is worthless as a simple, quick but champion will absolutely decimate your entire team. Because everyone owns this Glenn, raids are almost pointless because it will come down to the six star Glenn shooting each other one shot at a time for twenty to thirty rounds h til the time runs out and you automatically lose. I feel like if you’re going to insist on keeping this broken champions that leave entire teams obsolete, then add a minute or two to the raid time limit because there’s literally no way to win in that short time. I’m so disappointed as raids were my favorite part of the game and now I feel like it’s all pointless.
