Fun and funny
I know a lot of the complaints are about the randomness of the tools, but I don’t mind it so much, even if it does get a little frustrating at times. You CAN progress, just have patience. I find this game relaxing, compared to most of the games I play. It’s funny, and the sound effects are super cute. I have no trouble with game play on either my iPad Pro, or my iPhone 11, although occasionally it seems to not register my touch on the phone, but I suspect that’s an iPhone issue. Definitely not a game for people who want to win after just a few tries.
Amazing
The graphics on this game are amazing and the different characters and art is so incredible. The only thing that could be improved upon is a little bit more of diverse gameplay such as different game modes instead of always riding the car. But overall this game is amazing and fun to watch and play. Would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful game with fun gameplay. Can’t wait to see if there is a sequel.
Unique, beautiful, fun!
I was pleasantly surprised by how Summer Catchers turned out after much anticipation for its release. It’s so much different than I expected but in a very good way. The more I play, the more I grow to love everything about it. Just started on the second area and am getting used to how the power-ups work. Excellent job, highly recommended!
Tough but good!
It’s a beautiful game, and I’m enjoying the gameplay loop! It’s definitely not easy, especially the crow fight; but I think being able to swipe more than one time on the tools would reslly benefit the game. It would make the game feel a little less luck based, and a little more strategic. Keep up the great work though!!
Patience.
It’s really good. Update: This game is a work of art in both sound and pixel art. The game play is simple and does have a factor of luck involved. Just keep at it and the magic of the game opens up when you start to make progress. It’s not for people who expect to win a game in 20 minutes.
Love this game
You should get it it’s the bomb
Meh
The graphics are fun, the ambient noises and music are immersive, but the gameplay pattern leaves a LOT to be desired. You designed the obstacles/tools to work based on rng luck. Why would you do that? I’m wasting my money buying tools to make sure I’m stocked up on everything, and yet the RIGHT tool is rarely available to pull from the bag during my run, so I just have to eat a hit and maybe die even though I had exactly the tool I needed to get past said obstacle. Also, why is it that I can only swipe to change the tool out ONE TIME??? If I’m headed towards a cliff, I should be given more than one chance to pull out a parachute, don’t you think? I’ve died more times to spikes and barricades because the game simply wouldn’t give me enough opportunities to swipe to the right tool. Is this done to pad the length of your game so it won’t feel too short? This is one of the laziest possible ways to do that, if so.
Great Game, too Difficult and Repetitive
Love this game! I just feel like it’s a bit too difficult for the average casual user. Even on “Easy” difficulty, it only quickens the time to swap tools. I don’t mind having to replay levels multiple times to pass it, but because you’re always doing the same thing over and over (choosing tools), it becomes monotonous. There should be some other dynamic to this game that changes as you progress rather than just riding in a car and simply choosing tools over and over. I’ve noticed other reviews with similar thoughts too, so you should consider this a valid critique and one worth investigating!
Game is fun but doesn’t save
I’ve had this game for awhile now and it’s been very fun playing it I love the graphics, story etc. but I came across an issue that is upsetting to me and made me drop my rating to three stars instead of five. I honestly don’t know if it’s just me but after I defeated the grass lands and moved on to the waterfall area my progress stopped saving and now whenever I log back on it always starts me on the boss level of the grasslands one. Idk why this is happening but it is very upsetting I hope this bug gets fixed soon because I want to start playing again.
Fun so far but freezes at forest music game and unable to continue
Game was running fine and fun until the forest firefly sequence. It’s frozen twice at the fourth jar and I’m unable to continue. Playing on iPad Pro 10.1 first gen, latest iOS. Please fix and I’ll revise review
Cool pixel art, not fun
I gotta say the pixel art is beautiful, but the gameplay is just lame and not enjoyable. It’s already redundant and frustrating after only a few rounds. This seems more like a $0.99 game maybe a $1.99 game, but def not a $3.99 game. And why can’t I switch the power ups more than once? It literally gives you zero opportunity to succeed, eventually (and usually not very far into the round) your stuck without the option you need to overcome the obstacle, even tho it’s in your inventory but the game just doesn’t let you use it
Didn’t mean to buy this and it won’t start
It happened so fast I don’t know how I clicked it and bought it on accident but it happened. I figured I’d make the best of it but when I start it just loads a couple developer screens and then a grey icon of a person on a cart on a white screen and it never changes.
Randomization is Dumb
Play the game using boosts that are randomized so that the moment the game starts being fun you get thrown from your vehicle and then slowly, cloyingly wait to start again. Pretty graphics and smooth gameplay don’t save this dud from being a frustratingly tedious experience. I’ll go back to Hill Climb thank you and goodbye. UPDATE: Also it doesn’t save progress. Given how poorly designed the game already is I have no idea if this is a glitch or not.
Horrible Controls
The way the developer makes the abilities (ram, jump, rocket) random is ridiculous. You have to spend your coins on way more things. You waste way more time because of the way the developer made it. NOT because you don’t know which buttons to hit. It’s unfair how that is. And it feels cheap. Most developers know that. Apple really should allow a 30 minute window or so to get a refund.
