Video Manual: How to Use the Frostborn: Coop Survival App

How does it Work?

Valhalla awaits, Viking!

Build, survive, fight and conquer - become a Viking worthy of Valhalla!

Arrange your own base, harness the power of gods and fight the army of the dead with your friends. Bring back the former glory to the Viking lands by building a new capital from scratch, and go to uncharted shores for treasures and new battles and build your own Viking Kingdom. All of this and more awaits you in the new online survival RPG Frostborn!

The world plunged into darkness

In the wilds of Midgard, the dead roam in broad daylight. The water from the rivers burns your throat, Valkyries no longer take the fallen in battle to Valhalla and something sinister is hiding among the shadows of forests and gorges. The goddess Hel is responsible for all this. She cursed these lands with her black magic in just 15 days, and now she wants to enslave the kingdom of the living!

Death no longer exists

You are the immortal, valiant Jarl of the northern warriors who no longer face death. Healers and shamans shrug their shoulders and don’t understand why this is happening. But since the way to Valhalla is closed, there is only one thing left to do - arm yourself and send the creatures of darkness back to Helheim!

No man is an island

Frostborn is a co-op survival game with MMORPG elements: team up with other Vikings to build a strong base, confront the creatures that hide among the shadows and in the shrines of the gods and fight other players during raids and random encounters in numerous locations and dungeons.

Berserk, mage or assassin - the choice is yours

Choose from over a dozen RPG-style classes that suit you best. Do you like heavy armor and face-to-face battles? Choose between Protector, Berserk or Thrasher! Prefer to keep your distance and shoot arrows at enemies from afar? Pathfinder, Sharpshooter or Hunter at your service! Or are you one of those who hide among the shadows and stab in the back? Try a Bandit, Robber or Assassin! And there is more!

Win at all costs

Trade with other players or ambush and assassinate them in the wilds of Midgard. Make peace with another family and protect each other during the raid, or betray their trust and reveal their secrets to others in exchange for resources. The old order no longer exists, now these are wild lands where the strongest survive.

Plow your way to Valhalla

Use the crafting system inherent in real MMORPGs to get everything you need to defeat the darkness created by the black magic of the goddess Hel. Strong walls and delicious food, magic potions and deadly traps, powerful weapons and legendary armor. And if that's not enough - build your own drakkar to raid the overseas kingdoms!

Build your own city

Strong walls, spacious houses and artisan shops - and this is not all that needs to be rebuilt and improved to open the gates of your city to visitors. But be ready for a long journey - a good city cannot be built in 15 days. Coop with other Vikings and the inhabitants of your city to fight for a place in the sun in a world ruled by black magic.

There's no daylight underground

Go down to the ancient sanctuaries of the gods - dungeons in the best traditions of MMORPGs, fight the strongest dead and monsters who are afraid of daylight, get legendary artifacts and find out why the gods left this world.

Experience the survival RPG Frostborn - a new game from the Kefir studio, the creators of Last Day on Earth and Grim Soul. Join now and in 15 days you will understand what it is like to live like a Viking!

    HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL

I’ve been playing this game for 3 weeks now and I gotta say that it’s kept me hooked on and I don’t intend on stopping. It’s such a great experience to be had on mobile. The graphics are great, the concept is great, and the community is great. I recommend this game a lot, like a lot, its awesome. However, the company who owns this game makes me weary of wether I should keep playing it. Some people say that the p2w aspect is not there, trust me, it’s there. I mean, when you complete the first act or group of quests, or whatever it is called, as a f2p you get standard gear for someone who is just starting out, however, paying for the premium option allows you to get instant purple gear that is extremely good. That right there is p2w; you are paying to have an advantage over someone else. That said, if you are willing to put your life aside and only concentrate on grinding the game, you might get somewhere as a f2p. And, the worst part is that Kefir doesn’t do anything significant to help f2p players, who are the root of their game and give this game the hype it deserves. If it weren’t for the f2p players, there will be no community. Lol, I know I just completely thrashed the game, but I’m enjoying it a lot and I want to see it grow, so I’m still giving it 5 stars. DEFINITELY WORTH DOWNLOADING BTW.

    Review for the “Reviews”

I recently went through the Reviews people left for this game and some of them made me angry. 😡 Many people are leaving reviews saying how bad the game is without even giving a proper analysis. Older generations of devices are obviously going to be bugged because the Engine the game runs off of is much newer. If your feeling as though the “Reviews” are making you not want to play don’t listen, try the game yourself. The “Pay to Win” wall is there but isn’t super bad, there are GUARANTEED to be people who spend crap loads of money on the game, every game has this. Devs, I would recommend only putting in some rare weapons and only having a 1 time buy for Purple Weapons ( Not being able to buy 20 Instigator Packs for Example ). This game is BRAND NEW and will have flaws, give the devs a break and allow them time to make changes. Also, for the raiding system, to try and fix the pay to win players v free to play players by making a system where buying things increases your chance to fight players who also buy things, this would decrease after a set time. Peace ✌️

    Insane game love it!!

This game was by far the more better survival pvp coop games I’ve played no problems except the fact that you need to be very careful when looking for resources unlike last day on earth where green zones are good not to deadly and not to bad so if you could add that to the game and one more thing plz make the offerings more like the bunker card one time and infinite access so make like a Viking ceremony thing that functions similar to the last day on earth radio but all in all maxing game love it I have already recommended it to all my friends. And make it not so pay to win. I can see that you have a much better shop system then in ldoe because you only have to pay for coins but make a certain event that allows you to get the OP level armor and weapons instead of having to buy them. Nothing else to add to the list of recommendations except add some easier tombs to all pvp green zones that would make them worth going to. Also NEVER EVER add the energy mechanics like in last day on earth.

    Just Great

I have played a lot of “survival” type games. Most of them are really annoying because they require you to complete 100 tasks just to get a simple item which forces a pay to play situation. This one does not. Now that being said I have spent some money on this game but I really believe I got my monies worth. I didn’t have to do it but I wanted to just to speed up my progress a bit. The only gripe I have is I wish there was an in game trading system. Like, being able to list trade items on at least a server wide, if not game wide trading hub from your district or even you house. That would make this game the absolute best and I have heard as much from many other players. Please add this in an update if possible! I will play regardless, but not having a trading system has forced people to enter into trade agreements with other players they don’t know via discord, and then set up a meeting and then meet hoping they don’t get killed and ripped off. And from what I have heard it’s usually a high lvl player or high lvl team of players ripping people off and scamming them out of hard earned loot. It’s the only part of the game that is unfortunate because people like me just stay away from trading due to scammers. That however is my only complaint. Other than that this is hands down the BEST survival game in the App Store. Cheers mates, good job on a well thought out, well executed, absolute blast to play game. 🤙🤙🍻

    Special Game

This game really is somthing, just gotta iron out the bugs. Seems like you don’t have to raid if you don’t want to, which is nice. People do need to wrap their head around the full loot nature of the game...I think they should state it as more of a feature than it is. Players who are not expecting it see it as bad game design rather than important feature of this genre of game. I do think the grind for walls, especially given the fact you need to replace them, is too harsh... copper and birch should either be more abundant or the requirements should be cut in half...like 5 instead of 10 birch. I do think the new passive ways to grow your own birch is a good start, although the copper acid baths arnt with it...maybe allow dirty copper to be mined with normal pickaxes? Otherwise it feels like a waste of a steel pickaxe... Otherwise very special game, I really hope Kefir continues supporting it. I find the mixed reviews really confusing...

    Hard at work

It’s is without saying that this is the best mobile game I have played, and that coming from a guy that played ldoe since it came out. It has some pros and cons, but all games have that. There is no bad guy in this, don’t let the haters tell u it isn’t good, the game creators have fixed the gap between f2p and p2p, although it has some goods that have had some to rage it is ezer to trade with peeps for those, even if u aren’t the best, there is a lot of room to grow, F2P and p2p I love the game with the passion for this type of adventure, it’s fun and ez, with a good fam u can get farther than most peeps with the best stuff, that being said, if u see this, I’d like to see a once a month box of loot containing at least one guaranteed purple, and a few blues, do to the fact that it would take a lot to get purple in Odin, and this will help any one, it will have to be random, like purple armor or a weapon,it’s will be like a good luck charm to new players encouraging them to stay on it, and keep people from leaving the game, over all tho it is a good game that I won’t stop playing for a long time, thanks and for all u out there, it’s is the bests

    Game is ok

This game is fun but you got to make the loot more better this game is still a paid to win at least put more event we’re the players can get more loot the o the vents were you need a lot of loot to get this loot in this event it’s kind of unfair and doesn’t make sense too. If you want this game to be fun make it fun make it balance not a game to buy weapons or paid to win like cmon. I also found a bug were I was building a wall but I want to remove that wall but I didn’t want to but I had to delete the wall because there’s no X button or cancel to not delete the wall and the glitch shows (“purchase unavailable. Please try again”) that’s what it says when I’m trying to not trying to break a wall so an example would be if I press did wall like build whatever it shows are you sure you wanna break it but I suggest cancel because I don’t wanna break it but I can’t cancel it bcuz there is no cancel and the glitch is the one that is bothering that please fix it now

    Fun to play with family!

I’m really enjoying playing this game with my family! I would consider us casual players without interest in raiding others as we don’t want to get raided ourselves. The only reason I’ve not given a 5 Star review is that I wish there were more non-PVP/safe areas where you just have to worry about monsters that we could go out to adventure to and harvest the harder to find items like Maple Trees and Copper. It would be so cool to be able to travel to different maps to explore more areas. Perhaps that will open more once we finish stables and boats as we’re not quite there yet. Great job to the developers! This game is alot of fun and definitely has alot of potential!! PS- question? We are all stuck on the “Book Challenges/Tasks” where we have to participate in a raid and it seems we need to complete this to advance to more challenges/prizes. If we raid only once, will our Camp be open to raids from that time on?

    Note to developers

The lifespan for blue and purple tier weapons needs to be doubled because we do a sanctum to get the weapons but the weapon is barely even capable to get you through the first 1/6th of the sanctum and that’s just if your doing one of the room (e.g the green key room) Yea we get it everything breaks but at least make it more enjoyable to use the weapons that we work so hard to get. For someone who plays the game casually it’s very hard to get into the game simply because of how fast you lose items. Yes maybe hardcore gamers that play 4+ hours every day may be able to agree with the speed of weapon depletion but the casual gamer will soon move on to a more reasonable game as well as taking his money elsewhere simply because there isn’t enough longevity in the loot.

Frostborn and the devs poor decisions of the devs

To be honest, i love the game and love grinding towards a goal, but the last few updates that the devs released included some terrible additions ( making the royal chest and marks personal ) and some of which they didnt warn us about ( the reduction of mastery points from certain weapons and armors such as the strong pickaxe, freya staff, etc ). I appreciate the fact that the developers work tirelessly to make this game into the best it can be, but at times its like they make changes without need or without anyone asking for them, making the game either a bit more annoying to play, or even grindy-er when its already really hard for casual players to reach certain milestones like lvl 3 classes. For example I and my team ( and im 100% certain we’re notbthe only ones ) saved up a lot of things to sacrifice for mastery to get the bonus mastery in this new update that came out today, and little do we know but all of our stuff is now worth 20% less. Changes like this dont make anyone happy, please listen to the community.

Lots of potential, but far more flaws…

This game has the potential to be great. I mean, really great. The problem is that people are constantly losing gear due to lag or lost connection, or due to reboot (I had stuff disappear a few times after a reboot). I’m extreme P2W, but play just for fun; not to be pro or be the best, etc. Nonetheless, I’ve dropped money on the game. They have the Royal Chests show up for people to buy, giving the assumption that you can buy it again. Nope. You drop your money, they take it, but then say “oops, our bad, those aren't supposed to be available again, but nothing we can do.” Only once has Kefir been helpful to get me my lost items back, and that’s IF they respond at all, though usually it can take up to two weeks or more for a simple response, which generally gets you nowhere. Otherwise, I’ve been told there’s “nothing they can do.” Unless you have deep pockets and don’t care when you lose something, I’d suggest playing this game as a F2P player. It’s fun, but they keep killing it with stupid changes like removing PVP zones, then putting them back. Ever hear of the phrase, “don’t fix what’s not broken?” Don’t change what’s working presently while you add to the game otherwise. People started to play for a reason. As I said, great potential and the game is fun, but the Devs also know how to scam people.

    Where to begin. Wow.

This is one of the most frustrating games I’ve ever played in 37 years. This game is a top down fixed view fantasy combination of several survival games and it’s a complete and utter mess. You can basically just buy good gear and steam roll people. Tons of absolutely wasted potential. I don’t know if it’s better later on with perhaps a good clan or whatever but I’m tapping out at settlement lvl 32 simply because all I do is collect wood and stone, and get PKed whenever I venture anywhere more lucrative, losing anything I had on me. Great. I had basically built everything I could at my camp (your camp is where your actual base is), including x2 of most crafting stations, gardens, a large segmented wooden fort, etc. did the math to upgrade my camp to stone and just said nope. What’s the point? I can’t really do much else. The game doesn’t really explain any details either. It seems purposefully vague just to get you to spend money. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Gear falls apart way too fast, craftable gear is junk in general, important items for pretty lousy stuff are crazy rare. It’s just ages of effort for like no payoff. Oh and it’s not fun. Kind of the only reason I play games. Good luck with this dumpster fire.

    Great game except for bullies

Great game play, and lots to do to keep you busy and coming back. Except that there is no regulating on pvp areas you need to go to to produce certain items to level up the district which can allow you to create other stronger items. If I had a dollar for every time someone twice as strong just kills me while I’m mining copper I would be able to afford to just pay actual dollars to get actual copper, and aggressive mode is a joke. You end up wasting hours of adventure and mining fun when a stronger player just comes out of no where and takes every thing. What the devs want you to do is just pay for the items, this is a simple frustration buy technique I unfortunately have succumbed to because you’ve spent so much time mining something or getting ready for an adventure or finishing an adventure, only to get killed by stronger players and take everything. Leave pvp areas to pvp areas, and if aggressive mode is off, is should actually be off. Also, I wished the devs were a bit more fair with what you get if you do buy something, but I assume they are not socialists.

To hard to live, very bad game

On multiple occasions i have gotten good gear but then died due to overpowered monsters in easy locations or completely unfair raids. I usually don’t manage to get my gear back. When you have nothing it is too hard to get materials because of the monsters you have to fight while collecting materials, it is usually not hard to win. Fight with a monster in a green location weapon-less. However, After many fights with weak weapons you can’t afford to fight again because you have such a small amount of food when you have to re-start. This is why natural regeneration should be added. When you start to get low on health, you should slowly get health back. Otherwise this is a good game, but I am starting to get annoyed by how easy it is to die when you have no gear. Also it’s stupid how normal monsters can damage you from super far away when there not ranged. This game is stupid don’t bother with a response developers because you don’t actually change the game. I am done with this game unless I can be guaranteed that there will be natural regeneration
