Update
I was having fun playing this game, until the last update. I can’t do any of the levels, because the play button is gone. The only thing the game lets me do now is change the character outfits, it won’t load anything else. I’m writing this review in hopes that a developer will see it, and be able to help, because I can’t even get to customer support. Update, finally got through to support. Had to uninstall, then reinstall to get it to work. I don’t understand all the complaints about how hard this game is. It’s really not that difficult, it’s set at a good pace if you ask me. I’m excited to see this game grow, I’m having tons of fun playing it. The staff is so friendly and helpful, I was happy that my issue was fixed so quickly!
Level Difficulty
I really like this game. When I downloaded it I thought it was going to be just another one of those games. But it wasn’t it’s pretty interactive (story line) I really like this game. But one of the problems I do have is the difficulty of the levels. I read some of the comments people have shared and it seems as they agree with me. It makes me sad that I can’t beat level 14. I used up all my free power-ups and my in game money to give me 5 more moves and I still can’t complete it. I do think is a great game but the levels are just a little difficult for the beginning. So sadly I’ll have to rate this a 4/5.
Very Fun, But Extremely Challenging At Times
This game is fantastic and has so much potential, but I find almost every level incredibly difficult to complete without having to spend money or wait however long it takes to gain some lives back. This game would get 5 stars from me if it wasn’t so difficult to get through each level, even with certain power ups. I also think there should be another option towards gaining lives other than spending real money. Overall, it’s a wonderful and fun game to play, though it’s frustrating once you run into those challenging levels.
Not P2W, you just need skills
A lot of the reviews complain you have to pay in order to progress or that the levels are too difficult early on. I don’t really think so. I haven’t spent any real money on the game and I’m already above level 60. One thing that could be improved is the ability to replay levels and gain mastery of those levels (1, 2, or 3 stars similar to other games). Also, it shouldn’t require 3 stars to progress the story. It should only require one star, considering that you have to use 3 stars for a shirt, another 3 for the pants, and so on.
Great potential
This game has the potential to be absolutely fabulous. The premise is great, which is why I downloaded it; I love fashion games. However, there are a few major issues that need addressing before I can give the game a 5 star rating: 1.) Stability. The game either freezes or won’t load when trying to play on my phone. This has happened when starting up the app as well as when trying to open an icon on the main screen (e.g. trying to tap the mail icon). 2.) Level difficulty. I think there needs to be rebalancing of the levels. A lot of the earlier ones are extremely difficult to complete without using several power ups. Adding a few more moves to some levels would help. While the levels shouldn’t necessarily be super easy, they shouldn’t be impossible, especially early in the game.
Fun but there need to be A LOT of improvements
This app is really fun for like the first 50 levels you play. Then, it goes downhill. Suddenly within like the blink of an eye the levels are way too difficult and you can’t pass any of them without using most of your lives. Not to mention the app has this TERRIBLE glitch where it won’t save your progress occasionally and you return to the app with no lives and a few levels behind where you were before. I was playing this morning and I passed three levels that were very hard then I closed it to check the time and I returned and it hadn’t saved my progress and the coins I earned were gone but my lives were gone too. That’s extremely frustrating and makes me not want to spend anymore time on this app.
Difficult to understand and glitchy.
The pros: adorable animation, intriguing story, unique gameplay elements. This game is very very similar to Matchington Mansion. The cons: ads are broken (won’t close on my iPhone X, i have to force quit the app each time and then I receive no rewards). The tutorials don’t explain enough. The levels are super challenging, makes it feel less fun when I’m getting stuck on level 8 for hours. Wayyyy more time between life refills than similar games. No way that I’ve found to add friends to request more lives. The costumes occasionally glitch and if you want to replace them you have to spend coins. I’m not giving up on this game yet, but I’d like to see some of those glaring issues fixed.
Disappointment
1.) The level challenges are extremely difficult. 2.) The difficult levels means that you can’t make progress and therefore cannot actually play the game. This game as a concept is wonderful but the level difficulty feels uneven. The challenges for the matching blocks part of the game are extremely difficult, you can only get more moves by watching an ad which I was fine with, or paying a lot of in game currency. You have to play these matching block levels to progress in the story, so as much as I like the game I can’t even play it due to running out of hearts. If the learning curve were made to be less steep I would actually be able to enjoy the game.
Errrr.....not too pleased at the moment.
So far, I’ve had so much fun with this game and I’ve spent a lot of time with it. I’ve made it past level 200. However, I’ve noticed a glitch that very inconveniently seems to mess me up. I will beat a level, and right before the ‘level cleared’ prompt appears, the game will freeze randomly. I’ll then exit the game and when returning, the entire app restarts and I have to replay the same challenging level all over again! I thought this game was very generous with its lives and alternative options to spending real money. However, I’m not too impressed with this glitch and it kinda seems a little purposeful. Please fix this or else I’m uninstalling!
Good potential
This has the potential to be a great game. It’s got a good story and good art but is plagued by the usual free-to-play mechanics. I’m certain that the devs never play-tested their own game at length. This game however has levels that are incredibly difficult compared to similar games, even after their latest rebalancing. I’m in the 400’s in Homescapes but am having more difficulties completing the 60’s in this game. You simply don’t have enough moves to complete the seemingly impossible tasks in certain levels unless you’re lucky with combos and those aren’t even the “hard” levels. Their have been “normal” levels with 2 playing areas that I failed at before I even managed to finish the first area. I think one problem is how fast they unleashed their various gameplay mechanics, like the pudding and the dye and such, instead of introducing them at farther intervals. The other thing wrong with this game is how fast it ramps up in terms of stars required to progress. I’m only in chapter 3 and I’m already needing 3-4 stars per task to go on. That, combined with the difficulty, makes this the hardest match-3 game I’ve ever played. If you can get past all of this, I promise you will enjoy this game. I especially enjoy how you can change the looks of the characters at will throughout the game. At the moment, this game requires lots of patience and luck until something changes.
Great game crippled by p2w business and difficulty
Graphics and gameplay are simple and effective, the freedom of building the characters is great, but the balance of the levels is utterly bad and completely random, gated by p2w microtransactions. I’m half way through chapter 2, but i was only able to reach that far because i’ve burned a few moves with the gold i got, some i hard to burn 1900 gold in a single stage. The initial levels’ difficulty feels like i’m already at stage 70+ or something instead or level 6-7. To make matters worse, you only get 50 gold per stage completion with no chance to “farm-repeat” previous stages to increase your income, with each type of accesory costing 2000+ gold. So, in the end, the only way to progress THIS EARLY into the game is by buying packs with real money for those extra moves or praying to RNG somehow win you a stage, so you can get stuck in the next stage for weeks.
Promising game flops because of in-app purchases
This game has adds fun to simple matching games by adding fashion to it, with a little bit of customizability. However, it falls short considering how difficult some levels are to complete. A huge disappointing factor is that the new update just restarted the game. So all the in-app purchases I’ve made to beat those hard levels don’t mean anything. I’ve essentially spent $10-15 to start from the beginning. Also, the game gets a bit boring after awhile because every single piece of the story requires 3 stars or more. Really? I have to beat 3 levels to give a little girl a dinosaur head? I feel like these games could be way more interesting with cooler plot lines and less time spent on just the levels to get one character a pair of pants. Overall, the game was great until about level 25. Then the restart happened. Big disappointment.
Manipulating.
This game could be plenty of fun if you're a god at tile matching puzzle games or if you spend real money on the variety of powerups and things the developer push you to spend your money on. The game gets very difficult right in the beginning, almost to the point where it is impossible to progress without spending money. It feels like a cheap ploy to get the player to pay to pass the level. Rather than allowing the matching tile portion of the game to actually be fun, they give you barely enough moves to complete a level (if enough moves at all). I'm disappointed because the game looks nice and I always enjoy character customization in games, unfortunately it's impossible to do any of the fun stuff in this game without the levels being rebalanced. I don't think this game will have a stable population of people playing it for long.
Having to redo levels due to crashes
It has happened to me 5 times now, finish a level by using the extra items like the bombs and stuff then when the level is done click watch video for extra coins then the game CRASHES down and I not only LOSE my items I have to redo the level I’ve just beaten. You can reset my levels when it crashes but can’t give me back my items? Fix your game crashes because it’s utterly ridiculous. As a reply to what you’ve said, I’ve done that already because I kind of figured apps running in the back could do it this isn’t my first time dealing with it. Also I have a pretty darn good internet connection so thanks for the NO HELP AT ALL!!! I want my dang items back and not have to redo levels but whatever.
