    Takes too long but fun

This game is a really nice concept, and it’s a lot of fun to play. However, everything takes much too long to complete because all of the crafting times take so long, and in order to have more than one crafting station open you need a lot of diamonds that are hard to get unless you want to pay a significant amount of money. If you could trade in tech points for lava Stones, especially since once you upgrade everything there’s no use for tech points anymore, It would be a lot better. Even if it was like 5 million tech points for 100 lava Stones, which would still take a long time to accumulate, it will be better than nothing at all. The puzzles are fun to solve and play, but once again they take days and days to finish because some of the crafting times are anywhere from 10 hours to over 24 hours, and you’re given just the one station to work with unless, again, you want to pay almost $30-40 to get enough lava Stones to upgrade to have the other two stations open. So, while I really enjoy the game, you have to be very very patient when playing it and it has to be a game you just play for a few minutes once a day because you’re going to have to wait until the following day to be able to move on with most of the puzzles once you start getting to the heart of puzzles.

This is a game of figure it out and patience

Hint: Click on your villagers and they will lead you to things by being curious about something or looking at something.... Also, check out the puzzle page. Yes, this game is tough...ok, down right brain teasing at times and takes forever BUT, it’s addicting. Plus, to be able to say you figured it all out should come with a gold medal!!! Why? Because this game is hard to solve!!!! You have to think! Nothing is handed to you like in other puzzle games- Yes, you have hints on the game board- like statues and such but, you really have to work for it over a long period of time. Real time- the game goes with actual clock time but, you can pause the game in settings. Just try it if you like hard puzzles- I’ve been with this company and this game since the very first and solved them all.....Good Luck! Break out the Villager in you and solve the puzzles!!!!!! Last Day of Work....you rock!!!!! Bring it on guys- waiting to solve the next VV scenario!!!!! LOL

    Purchasing of Lemur & Bugs

So I just recently purchased the lemur in hopes of gaining a ton of Magic because my villagers weren’t gathering any and the crafting hut said “Cannot be gathered at this time”, and while I’m away for a few days, it collects a lot of items that you can craft with, which is what I expect. However, and I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but when I’m gone for only a few hours/close to a day at a time, I come back to only tech points/food being collected. It feels like a waste at this point because I have to be on the app for an hour before it’ll collect any Magic. Then wait for the game to save itself, which takes forever, for it to be available to me. Not to mention I previously completed the blue statue puzzle in the game and had to exit the app before the saving icon in the top right corner could finish and now i have to wait for another jump potion to complete it again. Honestly, though, despite the bugs/money needed to get faster results, the game is great. I love that it’s different from the other versions, however I wish there was an option to stop time like in previous versions. Thanks for your time!

    I really like this game

I only previously played the first virtual villagers game and I rather loved it despite the waiting, but I always felt worried I’d miss something important and so left it on pause a lot when I wasn’t actively watching it. (Maybe because I frequently played on double speed) This, since it doesn’t have double speed, has forced me to slow down and let it run in the background and I find I’m enjoying it a lot more. I love the crafting element to bring some extra manual effort into a mostly wait-and-watch simulation and I’m not put off by the lava stones (actually I haven’t seemed to run into an ‘ad cap’ so I got the first crafting hut upgrade on my second day of playing while farming ads and watching tv). Though I do wish I could get the lemur or heron houses without real money. I can’t afford to spend any money sadly as I am unable to work and so have no income. Wish I could support your studio by buying one of the upgrades or the other games in your series that weren’t free but I simply don’t have the funds even for something as small as $10. That said it’s still a fun free game and an improvement over the first one.

Good, but too focused on crafting

I enjoy the game, but feel that it strays too far from other Virtual Villagers games with the crafting. At first, it was fun, but I think the crafting quickly takes over the game. The amount of time it takes things to craft doesn’t make sense with the pace of the rest of the game. I shouldn’t be able to finish repairing three buildings before I can even make a single forge bucket. I amassed millions of tech points waiting for things to finish crafting to complete the statues, and now with chapter two, I quickly maxed out all of the technologies and am once again waiting for things to finish crafting. Meanwhile, I see no purpose for my villagers. I think there should be more puzzles that don’t require as much crafting. Side note, why are all these villagers white? They should be burning up under this tropical sun. Women nursing for so long and thus not being able to become masters as quickly as man just puts real inequality into gameplay, which just seems unnecessary. Why do they have to have last names? It just makes it more apparent that you often have relatives mating.

    I❤️THISGAME!!!

I really like this game. It has a great concept, and awesome effects. I can tell LDW put a lot of effort into making this game. In this game, you help little villagers live on an island called Isola. You make them do stuff so they can level up in skills. There are builders, healers, gatherers, scientists, and farmers. You level them up from untrained, to trainee, to adept, to master. You can buy necklaces to give them powers, like instant mastery of a skill or instantly age 5 years or something. You can build things like huts. In this game, you also solve “puzzles” and try and figure out the mysteries of the island. The things I don’t like about this game is that it takes too long to get tech points and lava stones (a form of currency). You need like, 20,000 tech points and it takes FOREVER!!! That is my only concern about this game. I really like LDW games and I can’t wait until I finish this one so I can go to Virtual Villagers 2!

I keep having to start over!

I used to really enjoy playing the older versions of virtual villagers, although I haven’t played in a few years, but something I don’t remember happening in the older games is having nearly all my villagers die after more than 12 hours away from the game, or going to sleep with villagers age 30-something and waking up to them aged 60+ so I don’t know if the time in this game is faster than older versions but it seems to be the same speed when playing. I’d just like to be able to go for half a day without playing the game and not have my entire village die before even having a chance to get enough tech points to get new technologies! I’ve restarted my game twice now and if I come back to my villagers dead again tomorrow I’ll be so frustrated I won’t even want to play the game. The first time I had to restart my 4 villagers died overnight and I only had 1500 tech points, I didn’t even start farming yet! The second time I had just unlocked the first farming and construction technologies and my 3 female villagers had babies and were in their 20s, the next day I checked on them and only the kids are still alive and are in their 20s... now I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who want to stare at their phone all day long playing games but I’m not one of those people, I spend more time NOT on my phone than on it.

    Interesting, but far from complete.

I would like to preface this by saying, I have loved the concept of these games, and the earlier ones were a good challenge. It took almost no time to have a stable supply of food and tech points. My people never starved, the only thing I really did need in this game is to wait for the crafting timers to be done to proceed, get people to master skills by repeatedly only letting them work on one thing and waiting on tech points. One such thing is how sometimes, your villagers will pop up in places they can’t get out of when you open the app. Another is how some ads won’t give you anything despite the timer being finished. I have been told and seen on from others who have this app that there should be something to pop up at times to let you watch an ad to shorten crafting times, but I never get that option. I have to agree with an earlier review as well, getting tech points and food from the cracks after having bought the lemur is rather frustrating, as I have no need for it, and likely never will. On one last note, when I pause the game, it should pause the daily login bonus as well, but it doesn’t. If there is some way to patch or fix these issues, please do so.

    I love this game series

I’ve always loved this game series, but there are a few things I wish were different.. like, knowing what level technologies unlock what.. or what skill level they have to be.. how to know when certain things will show up, like the fish collectible.. not like what minute of every hour but more like every few hours only during the day.. and the panning for gold.. still don’t know when that’ll be unlocked.. maybe some hints would help. But I love how we can change the names and get tech points by watching videos! Also getting certain things by watching videos.. I also wish we could have different games saved so we could do more than one tribe at a time. I also think having the lemur as a daily prize for when you get to a certain amount of days in a row would be cool! Also if you’ve already crafted something once before I feel like it should say how long it takes to craft and the fertilizer for the garden.. that bugs me.. sorry for the long review but other than that I’ve always loved this gaming series.. and always try the games whenever I can! Thanks

    Random Ads, Semi money trap

As someone who’s played every virtual villagers multiple times, I dont recommend this one. Its fine but its not as good as the other virtual villagers or virtual families mainly because every time you open the app theres a random ad that you have to watch part of. Recently ive been getting ads that i have no way of closing so I can’t even play the game anymore. It takes WAY too long for most crafting things because they expect people to get impatient and spend money on gems. Also the amount of tech points it takes to get past the first tier is kind of ridiculous. It goes from needing 17k-22k tech points to needing like 170k+ for the second level. They offer a stork thing to help keep the poisonous frogs under control and a lemur to go into these earthquake cracks to get things like food, crafting materials, gems. Ive bought the lemur because at first it would bring like 5000units of food and a bunch of gems but after you buy it, it barely finds anything of worth or that could actually make a difference. Its just sad to see a company that used to make great games that werent money traps and didnt have unwanted ads to have turned into a company that makes money trap, constant pop up ad games.

Keep losing crafts that take days to make

I have been playing the virtual villagers games for years and have just loved them. This one has been very frustrating to say the least. First I crafted the jumping potion and as I had someone walking it to the Ruby, the game had to suddenly restart due to some type of error and when I came back it was gone. It had completely disappeared. That was super frustrating because I had to find all of the magic, wait for it to craft and then it was nowhere to be found. Then I crafted the yellow glass which takes quite a while to craft, I believe 2 day’s just to make the glass, not including the stuff to make it. As I was walking someone to bring that to the yellow statue my game went black and it also disappeared!! I wish if let’s say a character dropped a craft, it could be picked up rather than just disappear! I would really like to play this game but it’s disappointing when you work hard at something and you just can’t complete the objectives. I have also ran into many times where you craft rope and have a villager bring it to a crack and they investigate it but nothing happens. They don’t find or collect anything. Very frustrating!!!!!

    Boring

I’m not sure whose idea it was to create this game but fail. I’ve been playing VV since I was a kid and never have I ever been so underwhelmed by anything. The format of this game is so annoying because it has the elements of LDW games we love but with the greediness of a P2P game. I downloaded VV 5 at the same time and finished that one today while barely making progress in this one. And this is after purchasing the starter pack so I can only imagine how boring it is without it. The truth is that this game is TOO slow. I play a lot of real time games and never have I been able to come check in once or twice a day and not be able to make any type of progress. The amount of tech points required to just get to level two is ridiculous. The amount of trial and error and the fact that you have to wait in between gathering resources. And then guess combinations. And then do more waiting as it is crafted. Just sooooooo many elements put into this game that scream overkill and desperation for money. Tip: if y’all are going to make a game that is “long term”, there needs to be some type of reward system (easier to accomplish mini puzzles, clear goals and instructions, longer descriptions about tech upgrades and what they bring) in place so your players don’t feel like they’re wasting their time. And it’s even more evident that this game was made strictly for profit because it doesn’t even have the same speed up capabilities as the others. So disappointing.

Too many glitches, had to stop playing

I enjoyed previous versions of VV so decided to push through and deal with several problems with this game but finally reached my limit when I lost hours of progress (a villager had just retrieved the ruby using the jump potion that took 10 hours to make) when I suddenly got an error screen showing a restart button that left me no option other than to click it. When I got the game open again the ruby was back up in the original location and my jump potion was gone. I get that the goal is to play the long game here but losing a key item that took 10 hours to make was just the straw that broke the camels back. Other issues that have made the game quick frustrating to play: - Not optimized for iPhone 11: you can’t read what the villagers are doing at the bottom of the screen or see the part of the game behind the front camera piece. - Ads come on at increasingly irritating times: initially the game would only play an ad when you clicked on crafting hut or agreed to watch an ad to gain lava stones/tech points, but over time the ads started popping up any random time, like in the middle of dragging a villager to do something important, and by the time the ad was done the villager wasn’t there and you had to go find them again. Overall I really wanted to like this game, but it just needs to be less glitchy for me to enjoy it.

PLEASE FIX BUG FIXES ERASING PROGESS

I love this game, I play everyday. I am a huge fan of last day of work productions, however, with this particular model of game, there seems to be a little bit of an issue. I will complete tasks like watching ads for lava stones/ tech points, craft items, watch ads to decrease time of crafting, and other common things. The game continues to buffer, restart without permission, play multiple ads in a row, play ads without reward, and when these glitches are occurring, it will erase my crafted items even after they have already been placed- in this example my clay bricks. I had already gotten a master builder to place the bricks and when this started occurring, it took my bricks and erased the progress. I don’t usually have issues with the games from this developer, however, today I have been experiencing major problems so much that I can’t even play for long periods of time. Keeps sending error codes and messages to my screen every time I try to do one of these things. And also, I believe I paid for this version and it still flashes ads on my screen throughout my gameplay, what’s up with that? If I wanted watch ads with no reward, I would download LITE. please fix. Please please please. I don’t like losing my clay bricks. Very annoyed.
