A Fun Game With A Few Issues

So I’ve been wanting to play this game when it was revealed and I can say that after 2 weeks. I can give my opinion on it. First off, I like the fact that every level is essentially pre-generated, like the set piece can be the same, but the placement of the covers and stuff is different. Second, the game is very satisfying at moments, like getting a win when your team is about to lose and leveling them up just feels great. I can say other things that I love but I’ll just save those to myself. Now for the issues. One, it is REALLY grindy to get soldiers. Now I know that was possibly intentional but the fact I might have to play a certain mission amount of times is absurd to me and characters only locked behind payments is kinda unfair. I know they might be in a certain event later down the line but for now it’s kinda unfair. I also know that there is a donation system in your clan to possibly get the character you want but you don’t know if your members are gonna have them. Two, the power scaling is random at times in the story mode and events, like your team can be level 30s facing against level 27s and still lose due to one of them having more health bars. I know that is possibly based on the gear level but still. Overall, the game is fun and satisfying, but it has issues with it and knowing I hope Ubisoft takes my issues and fixes them :)

    Needs polish!

All the reviews I see are people complaining about the grind, but like how thick are you people? Thats the style of this game. Exactly like MTG and Pokémon when I was a kid, you buy more packs, and hope for good stuff. The fun is in the mass achievement not having one stupid character. ITS THE GETTING NOT THE HAVING. You guys also have yet to realize that this game is totally free, and even though it might take awhile, name one other game in this niche that is as easy to characters in. Strike force grind is ATROCIOUS and don't even get me started on Galaxy of Heroes. Seven stars. 330 shards. Thousands and thousands of hours. It takes and ENTIRE YEAR MINIMUM of grind every single day just to get a single legendary character. Not to mention the facts that for most cases you are required to fully star five other characters. I just got Malak and it literally took me three years of play every single day. Not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars worth of pay walls. This is a fresh take on that style of game and I for one, like it. Granted, there are bugs bugs bugs and ceashes galore, but considering this game is a few weeks old and not backed by Disney (like goh despide being 5 year old 240p garbage) ill give it a pass. Polish your game and I’ll five star it. Well done.

Decent but has one MASSIVE flaw

The game overall is alright; it’s somewhat interesting, different abilities and characters, events, campaign and arena. Graphics are very meh even for a mobile game but it’s not a big deal breaker for me. The biggest problem is by far the crashes. Jesus Christ the crashes are bad and they always happen at the worst times possible, like around the end of a level or boss fight. I started playing a day prior to writing this review and have played roughly 3 hours of the game so far. My first 2 hours of playing had 7-8 crashes and happen one occasion where I had the U.I. bug out and had to reset the game. And the day of writing this, I played the game for 5-7 minutes before my college classes started and it crashed AGAIN. This wasn’t being played on a phone that was outdated like a IPhone 5 or something, that was being played on an IPhone 8/8s so it was still relevant tech wise. Please fix this because right now it is very demotivating when you are about to win a hard fight only to have the game crash and have to redo the whole fight all over again even 10-15 minutes.

I love the game but I have one issue

I like the game very much, this is at the moment the number 1 mobile game that I’ll usually play whenever I get the free time, the battles are fun to watch and it’s overall enjoyable to play, though I do have one issue. Wether its just a feature of the game or it wasn’t totally thought through I don’t know but I’m a Guild leader and I accidentally promoted a person in my clan to leader as well, so now we have two leaders and I can’t exactly demote him from this role. Games with similar “Guild” features like clash of clans u can promote people to CO-leader and they’ll have the same power as u but u can still demote them and take that away, if it could be like that for Elite squad I’d appreciate it, it just makes more sense to have a co-leader with virtually the same power as the leader but the main leader of the guild can still take that away, thank u for listening Ubisoft, you make great games so keep up the good work. Sincerely - Haden Word

    Great game, but minor setbacks

I saw a ad on this game back in June. I pre ordered it and it’s been a great game ever since. I absolutely love the graphics and the detail put into this game. It is very precise, specific, and makes the game fun. A few things I don’t like is the lack of time put into this. Whenever an update comes out, I find more then 3 bugs every time. Although these bugs are usually fixed within 24 hours, there shouldn’t be this many, if at all, bugs. I understand it is hard to produce constant updates, but the bugs in this game are nonstop. Another thing is that the purchases should be clearer. When buying keys, they do not specify what those keys will open, except saying they will open a crate. I actually spent and wasted $20 on a package of keys that I thought opened a different pack then the one it actually did. Still a great game, but if the developers spend a little more time on it, it could amazing:)

    Very fun game, but...

Ever since I saw that this app was going to be a thing on the AppStore I was excited for it. Once the fame finally launched and was downloaded I immediately started playing it. And over, the game is very fun! I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit, and am very excited to keep playing it and see more content in the future. I have few complaints however, and those are that the game crashes frequently and that the games loading screens are broken/glitchy. There’s been times where I tried opening the game and it either freezes or crashes. Also when loading into battle, it’s crashed more than it’s actually loaded so far. I don’t find this to be a huge deal however, the fame just launched after all so this is no real surprise to me. I’m sure the devs are already looking into this and will get it fixed as soon as possible. Amazing game Ubisoft! I can’t wait to see what all you’ll add in it.

    Needs a lot of work

I’ve been playing this game for over a month and at first it’s enjoyable but after awhile the small bugs, glitches and other issues get seriously annoying. After almost every update when you load up the game everything is missing labels. Loading in the game can take forever and sometimes lead to crashes which is especially annoying when you finish a mission and it starts loading after, crashes and you end up not getting the rewards but still losing your energy. In addition the guild menu can be a mess especially the chat. The chat censors random things for no reason. You could say something as simple as “hey guys I hope we can get some good participation today in the war” and it’ll find something to censor which in turn will block most of what you wrote. Then there’s the issue of in game purchases. I’m not opposed to them, I understand developers need a way to make money but they are ridiculously overpriced and its better to just grind but if you do that it’ll still take you several weeks to get anything useful. I get it’s a mobile game and you need to make progress take a long time in order to tempt people to buy something but at those prices Im much more likely to get bored and just delete the game. I can keep going but I’ve already said too much. Overall it’s not a bad game, but where it is right now, I can’t say it’s an especially good one either.

    Good Game But...

So first of all I think this game is very fun and exciting to play without having to do the same thing over and over again but anyways it is an exceptional game. Now some issues, I’ve noticed that the entire player base has been getting stuck around 50% umbra and around the 40% allies campaign missions. This is most likely because when you get up to that point, you can only earn 3-6 xp per mission. I believe this leaves players to the bare minimum because one it would take players an excessive amount of team to reach the next level and while they are grinding out there campaign missions, they won’t be able to move forward due to not having a high enough power level and in order to increase your hero’s power level or your teams, you need to level up. Also, some of the awards you receive from for example, ranking up in ranked, are very little and barely help the player move forward in the game. It shouldn’t be that a player needs to become an elite in ranked just to earn a hero. I do think that’s a little ridiculous. As far as bugging and crashes goes, it is not that serious for me as other players say they are getting it but the game runs pretty decent for me. Thank you for reading :)

    Good game... BUT THE CRASHES!!

Ok this game is pretty fun. If you like games like swgoh, Raid: SL, Marvel Strike Force, etc. this game has that similar concept. I’m taking off half a star because there isn’t much content yet compared to other similar games. Much of the content is going to be out of reach until like level 60 or if you pay good money to unlock the better characters (I’ve been playing for a week and I’m lvl 30 right now. I’m a f2p player). The amount of game modes is lacking at this point. I understand the game is new, so I’m expecting they’ll make some more content later, so this isn’t the big issue for me. The BIG issue is that this game crashes like every 5-7 battles!! Sometimes less! When it crashes in the middle of an arena or war attack, it counts as a LOSS! This is extremely frustrating and is THE NUMBER 1 issue with this game BY FAR! If it happened like once over a span of 3-4 hours, no big deal... but it happens about 10-15 times per HOUR! I’m extremely patient, but this game WILL lose players over this bug! It MUST be fixed ASAP! I have an IPhone 8 if that matters.

Hits home with characters not so much gameplay

I personally enjoy a good Tom Clancy game actually most of them I do including this one for the most part. Some things kinda bother me like how some characters are almost locked behind a pay wall but you are given one out of the 600 tokens needed to get them every so often. It feels like loot boxes never actually give you the highest amount of character cards that it says it goes up to. It also seems like that’s another push for you to buy more gold and unlock tokens in the game. I understand that the game has to make money so it’s not a deal breaker. If you are new to the game get ready for a grind and some of the events won’t be available to you due to the fact you are just not strong enough. It brings back a lot of memories from games I have played over the years but the game play lacks choices. Even if you could pick who to target without using a power would be nice it’s almost like the game plays itself.

In app game crash while trying to purchase

This game crashes so much. I never played a game that crashes as much as this one and now I have purchased a bundle the game asks for confirmation and says ok then crashes and I don’t have the items and now I have to go check if I been charged with my other purchases. What a headache! My advice is don’t buy anything this is ver stressful. Update tried so many times for them to match up purchases with my account and they don’t even know if the account has purchased and have received the items. I spent quite a bit of money and this last one the game crash made me quit completely I waited and gave them time. Update still nothing horrible developers that can’t even look into this and will avoid all games made by them in the future. UPDATE Few months later and now there closing. It does not surprise me when you treat you paying customers like this. It’s Karma customer service should be priority to keep paying customers here. Good luck time hopefully you change your ways and learn from this. If you treat you paying customers like crap they leaves don’t no more money for you.

Very disappointing with such a top not h developer

I’m writing this review to hopefully gather the attention of both Ubisoft and those looking to play. I’ve been playing several hours and I’m very frustrated now. The game and genre are good, not great just good. This has potential to be a great game that could generate lots of money for Ubisoft however it’s plagued by small and annoying issues. Any one issue can be overlooked but the totality of all of them is what forces me to rate this so low. The first issue is the constant crashing. Second the unbalanced characters and NPCs. I play many games of the team building fighting genre and none are this so out of whack. The pay to win is so obvious it’s nauseating. I’m okay to pay here and there to stay somewhat relevant in the battles but to get through most you have to spend a small fortune. This will severely hamper the longevity of you game Ubisoft, very disappointing. Finally the latency. I run this on several devices, all struggle worh latency even though I’m on gigabit WiFi. I can’t express enough how disappointed and frustrated I am and I’m sure many other are as well. Please fix this potentially amazing game.

    A huge disappointment

When I first saw the trailer for this game, I pre-registered immediately. It was marketed as a huge Tom Clancy crossover where you could “command your squad.” I love the tactical gameplay of Tom Clancy games and got the impression from the marketing that this would be an XCOM-like cover-based strategy game. When I finally got to play it, I realized that I had been terribly deceived. Once you start a mission, there are only two actions you can take during combat, called “combat orders” if I remember correctly, which you select prior to the mission. These consist of things like air strikes and shields. Other than that, you have no control over the course of the battle and no control over your squad. They just stand or crouch in front of the enemies on a tiny map and fight a battle of bullet sponges while you watch and wait for the cool down on your combat orders. It’s also very possible to win missions without doing a single thing. It’s essentially an idle game. Tom Clancy must be rolling in his grave. The marketing for this game should have been more honest, rather than throwing in phrases like “cover-based” combat and there ability to “command your squad.” This game was so boring, I decided to delete it after one day of playing it. I exercised as much patience as I could to see if the game would get better or if I had to somehow unlock the ability to control my squad, but I just couldn’t stand it anymore. This game is nothing but a waste of time.

    The math doesn’t add up

If you downloaded the game for a specific operator or hate the freeium model this isn’t for you. I normally enjoy “free” games but the pay model is so egregious it forces itself as the focal point. There are 13 different currencies in the game, not to mention LTMs so that brings the total up to 18 different currencies ? I have a logistics degree and I literately cannot understand the basics on how to unlock things. On-top of that, there are 77 operators in the game (great!) but to unlock operators you need to RNG stars that you earn five at a time from a lootbox. Keep in mind most ops require 60 stars, your favorites (Sam Fisher, Ash, etc.) will run at 160 stars. So to unlock Fisher you would need to open up 32 chests @ 550 gold each which equals out to be about $4 a box - but oh wait there isn’t a $4 option you can get 250 good for $1.99 or 650 gold for $4.99. So buying the packs of 650, it would cost you $140 just for Sam Fisher.... AND that’s assuming you happen to get his set of stars, each time you open a lootbox you’re fighting against 76 other operators. Can you beat that 1.3% chance of getting 5 stars 28 times in a row??? This is a steaming hot pile of garbage that should be illegal in the United States. There is very little game, it’s all just disguised as a vessel for Ubisoft to take your money. I’m disappointed not as a fan of the franchises but as a consumer and a humanitarian. Disgusting. I’m going to take a shower.
