Excellent Play 2 Win Game
I haven’t spent any money on this game and I feel terrible about that! This is the first game I have ever regretted NOT spending any money on. The developers deserve my money - I play this game constantly (probably at least 6-8 hours per day). The rewards in this game increase very rapidly as you play. I remember some monthly reward near the end of 2018 being dark keys/glyph for summoning 150 2-star (or above) creatures and getting to around 140 creatures but not being able to reach the goal. Now I summon 150 2-star creatures every week (as of June 2020 I’ve summoned over 13,500 total)! Super fun with tons of rewards for playing!
No need to pay
All the pay resources get you are deal used to get 2-4 star creatures, there are a lot of achievements to get these without paying. Should you want to advance faster is up to you but I haven’t come across any “need” to pay to play, large diversity of monster with 4 elements each and then glyphs of your choosing to add gives a decent amount of customizing creatures, my only complaint is guild chat seems to be glitched. But I don’t think that’s enough to lower the game to 4 stars, I’ve been looking for a while for a game to keep me occupied and this game is definitely doing It for me, love the game.
Truly great... Could use a few things.
The game is pretty perfect and one of the best FREE 2 PLAY games out there. Really doesn’t require you to spend at all. Has energy but am never really limited by it. Played for practically 8hrs straight and is very fun. The Auto battle option is great for playing at work. The creatures are AWESOME! And the graphic are EPIC. The option to turn frame rate and graphics up is a very cool thing Ive never seen before. The few things I could suggest for the creators is totally revising the chat. The blue names when active is a very cool feature I’ve never seen. But chat is so broken and there’s no real way to talk to people on the game. I believe this would save a lot of people headaches. Also the guilds are just missing a little something. They’re pretty solid and the events are nice... but there’s just something missing. Other than that keep up the great work and Thank you for making such an awesome game! 10/10 will recommend!
Absolutely addicted!
As the title suggests I am addicted to this game. Much better than those ‘idle hero’ games in my opinion because it’s more interactive game-play wise. There are tons of possibilities with combining different creatures in a Final Fantasy style turn-based battle. And I like that the different element monsters aren’t just re-colors but have different abilities based on their given element. If I had a few suggestions it would be to make the guilds more interactive and maybe allow people to give monsters individual names. Also I hope more lands will be added soon!
Thee Hot Elementals
Hey Guys. TDub here. I like this game a lot. I’m just having this same issue with the hotness from my fone as I’m playing EG. It’s like as soon as I start the app you’ll have this small little heat wave, you’d think it’s ur palms beginning to sweat or your table is hotter than you think. (If you have your fone on the table) After about an hour my fone gets pretty warm. Then the juggling from one hand to the next, then you put it on the table. After while it’s like juggling hot meat straight off the grill. Yo I love this game and the time I spend on it. Can you fix.
I really like this game, but...
It takes a really long time to get through things. People do not want to invest tons of time into a mobile game. They are meant for the few minutes inbetween classes, on break at work, or when you just want to be absent minded for a few minutes. If you log into this game to spend your energy and arena energy, you have to be ready to invest a good hour or two. With the load times and it taking five minutes total (between menu screens and the fights), it is not worth trying if you only have a few minutes to play. I downloaded this game because I own almost every might and magic game. This is not might and magic in the slightest. The pvp arena is broken. At sub-level 20, all of my opponents are level 30+ at 1000 ranking. If they are not playing, they should be removed from combatant selection algorithms.
Nice game but could use vast improvements
This game drew me in more than most others in the genre, but some things about it are kind of nonsense. - That the chance of failing to upgrade a glyph even exists. I’ve spent hundreds of thousands of the blue crystals just trying to get my glyphs up to level 10, and most crystals are spent around 7-10. Let alone trying to upgrade them to max level (which I believe is 16). - That there’s no ‘sudden death’ in arena. This is what made me finally write this review. My opponent and I killed all of our monsters and had the same one left as each other. Unfortunately they could do next to no damage and had massive health boosts... I forfeit because it’s just pointless fighting an AI with absolutely no way of us beating one another. - The probabilities of obtaining a monster that ranks 3+ stars on the golden colored shard things. I believe the probability of getting a 2 star is 91.4% with the respective 3 and 4 stars being 8% and .6%. That’s terrible odds. -Finally, the probability of procuring a monster AT ALL whilst battling in the shattered islands, etc... The odds aren’t listed I do believe, but they are absolute 💩when I’ve obtained ONE in almost 200 battles. Thanks for reading I know this was lengthy. ✌️
Very disappointed
This game used to be so generous. As you play more the less that becomes. Just spent $30 to support the new content and I feel like I received absolutely nothing. $30 might not be a lot of money for some but means a lot to me. I just want to feel like I got some resemblance of value. Very disappointed. I will no longer put any more money into the game. Also, to add salt in the wound. I finally got to change the first skill of my fire faceless and after doing so, all equipped glyphs disappeared? All purple glyphs. :( They are no longer in inventory. Is this a bug?
Update
So, I wrote a long review initially, that being said, I’ve been away for ~4 months and came back to the game a few days ago. Some things seem to have been fixed, but some things are still awful. Optimization for iOS seems a bit better and my phone doesn’t instantly turn into lava in my hands. Chat system is garbage still. No way to choose which chat server you’re put in, no easy way to build community through that. I shouldn’t be forced to download other apps because that’s a better way to chat to fellow players. Some (seemingly) easy tweaks and the game would be significantly more enjoyable to play. MmmegGA
Bland and unoriginal not M&M game
I’ll state the obvious: it’s a Summoner’s War clone. Even worse to me, it isn’t Might and Magic. It doesn’t have the storyline, setting or even aesthetics of M&M. I suppose Ubisoft found a SW competitor to snatch up and deemed they needed a marketing oomph so they tag lined it with one of their longstanding franchises. Gameplay-wise, sure there are unique skills and a variety of characters, but it’s 99% auto battle and all that variety is wasted to favor a few OP outliers. In other words, typical gacha shenanigans. Further mired by abysmal pull rates, even the subscription pay options, which tend to be comparatively decent value, are outrageously priced. To top it all off, it’s just a grind with a painful-to-watch story driven by tropes and lifted character archetypes. For me as an avid phone gamer and gacha, this misses the mark. And the added M&M tag line looking rather out of place and a seemingly a random last minute ad-ploy just adds insult to injury. Easy delete.
iPhone X. Game works after changing language
So after reading the reviews and responses from the developers I went into my settings>general>language& regions and I noticed there was an “English” option and then about 9 other English options with a country off to the side. The default option is just “English” which appears to be the cause of the black screen. So, just choose the Language option that is best suited for your location. For example, since I’m American, I picked the (US) option, restarted the game and it works just fine. The fact that I had to go through these hoops to get the game to work was annoying, so I’m giving this game 2 stars until I’ve played it some more and then I’ll update my review.
Wow.
So I re download the game about 6 days ago, looking for a new mobile game to grind. When I get on there’s this event, giving a free supreme soul stone (guaranteed nat 4) if you do the lottery thing for 7 days, so I get on today, and the event is gone. How lovely, right? I spent money, opened 4 legendary soul stones and tons of epics, bought a subscription thinking I was going to seriously and happily play this game with the one 4 star unit that I was going to get, just to get literally TEASED. (Because lord knows you aren’t getting one any other way) with an epic soul stone (basically the main stone you get to open) you have a .6 percent chance to get a 4 star, and a legendary only gives you a 10% chance. This game is a clone, but has some good ideas, it’s just that there’s absolutely no reason to play this game over SW. This is Ubisoft taking a great idea, slapping a different title on it (btw this isn’t even a might and magic game) and trying to get money. I really can’t wait for the day that a gacha game like this comes out but with reasonable ways to get the high tier characters, that company would blow up. I mean yeah, you made your rates .1% higher than summoners war, which is great, but com2us has the fan base to be greedy. You don’t.
Really bad drop rates!!!!
I’ve played so many games similar to this. So I gotta say I’m really disappointed in what I received in the two different packs I bought. Usually some games will guarantee a top prize for buying the most expensive pack. This one offers a 10% chance for 2nd best! Not great right??? Anyways you can say I’m definitely not investing anymore $$$ in this game. And as soon as I hit that wall and I’m sure I will. Because most games eventually get you to the point if you want to advance you need to buy bunch of packs. Anyways I do enjoy the story and the PvE battles but as for PvP if you complete all the daily quest everyday. You will end up getting matched up with someone stronger and you will not get great rewards. They should match by power of characters in squad and not by account level. Definitely a drawback. Anyways if are looking for something to keep you busy for a few days till you hit that wall. Then download and play, otherwise save your money because the drops for good characters are very rare.
Fun game hamstrung by bad monetization
This game has a lot of potential. It doesn’t do anything new or innovative, but the gameplay loop is fun and the creatures range from cute to cool. However, the whole thing is marred by predatory monetization. Creatures will hit a max level very quickly, and you have to destroy other creatures to unlock the next max level for your favorites. It’d be one thing if you could delete any creatures, but instead you can only delete creatures that share characteristics with the one you want to upgrade. This obviously is designed to make users spend money on more monster crystals to have a CHANCE at getting the creatures they need in order to upgrade their favorites. This is worse than the predatory practices that the Harry Potter game and EA’s Battlefront were lambasted for. Stay away from this one. All that awaits is disappointment or a high credit card bill.
