Idle Light City
You know I want to give this game 5 stars, simply because I have enjoyed playing and learning how to progress. So, I will. But I do want to report what I believe to be a bug. The offline earning levels do not seem to be what I would expect, even at the base value before my offline bonus of 1.6 and the collection bonus of 2x is applied. The base value seems to be 7x - 9x less than what I would expect. This is based on me seeing what I get with 10 min prize from a wheel spin and calculating what that should come out to after 5 hours. Further, it looks like the 1.6x offline bonus and 2x collection bonus are not being applied at all. Maybe I am missing something. But I would appreciate it if the developers could look into it. Thanks very much.
Pleasantly Surprised
I’m a huge idle game fan, but it’s rare to find one so well put together and not riddled with mandatory ads. I like that this game lets you watch an ad to unlock a power-up, Upgrade something faster, etc. It shouldn’t be shoved down your throat like some other games. I put about 2 hours into it and I was sold, probably one of the best idle games I’ve played both in mechanics and how unique it is. Definitely bought the pack to remove ads entirely after those two hours, you have my support. One suggestion for next update, maybe zoom the camera out a little bit or make it so we can zoom in and out ourselves? Feels a little too zoomed in at the moment. Cheers.
It’s cute and fun
Definitely worth a small investment $ to support. Although I have played to the current end of town hall, I look forward to more areas. After reading developer responses to other reviews they say more is coming so I am waiting. The idea is cute and fun. And I like that every other time I prestige I don’t have to fully reset, saves me time. As for anything else I would like to see added, I’ve already seen people mention them, so I will leave it at that. But I wouldn’t mind some sort of story line or characters to go with it, make it more involved or interesting. Even if we have another set of things to power up or another currency type for it.
Can be improved
It’s a great game, it just needs some improvements to make the gameplay more easy for the user. One example would be, a list of all the buildings upgrades so we the users don’t have to select each building for upgrading. Also a tab with information like money generated per second, which property generates more money, which generates less, etc. Update: New bug (?) ———————EDIT: BUG FIXED———————- If I close the game completely or “kill” the app, when I open it again hours later it doesn’t register any money gained between those hours when I wasn’t playing. Is this a bug? I don’t think it is supposed to work like that.
Insanely Entertaining
I’ve been playing this game for a week now and I gotta day sometimes it’s hard to put it down! Psychologically, the satisfaction of the short-term reward system in place here makes it insanely addicting to anyone looking to kill a little time, but it’s also just fun a very well made. My only suggestion is it would be really nice to be able to level up houses in increments larger than 1, so that you don’t have to hold down that button for a minute to get to higher levels once you’ve advanced in the game a bit. Thanks again, I’ve really enjoyed playing!
Well that was fun
Beat all the current content in 2 days. I went a little gung ho on the ads. Hope you devs expand the game. As a previous person said, I was expecting to build an actual town hall or mayor’s mansion at the end but there isn’t one. The “town hall” section of the game could easily just be called “downtown”. Also the current scope of the game is more of a town than a city. Semantics aside, I do love the game, and just want more of it.
I really like this game...
I’d like to see a few improvements but first a couple bugs I’ve found. Bug 1 - when the little box appears saying level to 100 free (or 200 or whatever) a lot of the times the box won’t let me tap on it. It’ll tap whatever is under it and let me level up whatever is there as if the pop up wasn’t there. [edit] it’s not just that box but also just noticed that it’s when you go to spin the wheel too. I had to exit out of the game and get back in to make it go away. It hasn’t always been like this just sometimes. And in my case it’s on my iPad. I haven’t played enough on my iPhone to know. Bug 2 - I really actually enjoy the piano music but after a few min it just stops. Idk if it’s just done and doesn’t loop or if it loops a couple times and stops but it does that consistently. Suggestion 1 - zoom abilities. I want to see the whole area. Suggestion 2 - I want to see a button that shows the buildings in a list so I can level them all in one spot. Suggestion 3 - I would like to know what the max levels are for things. Especially buildings... Other than that I enjoy the game and look fwd for updates and changes.
Fun, but not much to it.
I was enjoying the game, finished Sea City, and it appears that the two cities is it. Once you’ve built up Town Square in Sea City, that’s it, you’re done. Unless I’m somehow mistaken and missed something. I thought I was just getting into the game. It felt like it was still the “beginning”. not exactly the beginning because of the time taken to get there, but it just kinda felt like those were the first “learning” cities, and then you get to all the rest, like most other idle games. I enjoyed it for a little while, but I was disappointed by the abrupt unexpected ending. Not even a fanfare or anything, no “congrats, you finished”, you just... run out of new things to do.
Almost a perfect idle game
I really want to give this 5 stars bc I love the aesthetic and play of it for an idle game, but there are just so many ads it’s very disruptive to the gameplay. And like, while I understand that devs got to make money, it almost feels like the ads were implemented in such a way that was supposed to frustrate the player into buying the ad free pass But gameplay wise? I have absolutely zero complaints. It’s well paced out, there isn’t a sharp plateau that heavily “encourages” the purchase of time warps/premium currency (at least if there is I haven’t gotten there yet). The visuals are cute and the game benefits from being 3D rendered.
Ads
This is a really fun game I downloaded it today and I’m already addicted the only thing that is bad is I can’t upgrade the houses because of the ads popping up to add 10 levels if you could do a different interface with the ads the game would be so much better here are some ideas of different ways you can do it: you can add an ad button that gives you 10 levels for an ad or it pops up when you run out of money or just have it on the outside of the houses or just a way to decline the ad so you can continue upgrading other then the house ads I have no complaints:)
B block issues
Fun up to a point. Learned the basics, built up to where there were two buildings in B block that I couldn’t build even with enough money. I used Prestige to reset, built each building in A block and then B block, upgrading each to 50 - and it still will not let me build those last two buildings in B block. Searched on line, no answers but at least one other person having same issue. Idle also does not show any contact email. Therefore deleting and moving on. Addendum: Q and q issue - I think your recent upgrade fixed it. When I reached the Q level for money I could finish B Block. It showed the small q before, now shows big Q. Ability to contact developers also just arrived with update. Still, fun but up to a point. Building in Park now, need lots of $ to get autocollect. Slow going. Will keep playing for now.
Update
Building town hall is impossible in happy town. Sea city becomes useless to a point on the last island. I wish the team would care about this cash grab app. How many commercials watched will get you to progress just a bit Your app is great. I do enjoy it. It’s super frustrating. Because we are working from home, I do have more time to watch the add’s. I want to keep playing but I want more game. The parts of the game I deemed useless were so far a pay wall away from being in consciousness that I stopped paying. I no longer sign in daily. Just make it more fair and something to look forward to along the way.
Flaws
I’m taking off 3 stars for 3 specific reasons. Firstly, the content runs out too quickly. Seriously, this game is WAY too short. Secondly, it takes forever to upgrade the earlier buildings after a prestige. There should be an option to buy multiple, such as 10, 25, 50, 100, the maximum affordable levels, and as many levels are needed to get to the next “x2 speed” or “x4 profit”. I was thinking I could just use the 75 gem special prestige to keep progress, but it only allows me to do it once per regular prestige. Lastly, when I buy an upgrade that doubles collect speed for a block, or level up a building to a milestone that doubles its speed, the income/sec does not double. That needs to be fixed and I’m surprised that more people didn’t notice this.
Ad Factory
One of the most obtrusive ad factory apps I’ve played so far. Sometimes it just pops up an ad for no reason. I don’t mind watching ads to get a booster but forcing me to watch one while I’m playing your game normally is over the top. Having little bubbles floating around is not only annoying but also smacks of desperation. Gameplay is pretty standard stuff for the genre. The take on it using lightbulbs is cute but that’s about it. Money upgrade/income balance gets way off in the higher priced buildings. *in response to dev: idle games are one of my bigger time sinks. I get that gameplay needs to slow down as it progresses but the curve in this rises so steeply it’s more like a vertical line. Nice dig thou... maybe y’all just aren't that good at the genre?
