A very rewarding experience, seems to draw inspiration from final fantasy

Many gacha games almost force the player to spend, whereas in this game, I can easily progress without every having to think about dropping any money for gameplay. The depth in this game is very good. Although some champions are not god, all champions seem to have a role in this game and have some amount of usefulness. I also like the funny cut scenes during the campaign, the story actually seems thought out. Enjoying it so far and I’m only level 15! Can’t wait to deep dive into this game! I’m coming from Raid, so glad to try something new without having to spend exorbitant amounts of money.

Fun game - reasonable economic model

Been playing for about 2 months now and still a daily game for me. You can do FTP but like any game the advantage will go to the paying customer. I’m not a whale but will spend some money as long as I see value. Most of these games I won’t, but this one has been much more reasonable. I don’t mind supporting them and it improves my enjoyment. Good balance. Gameplay itself has been fun and dev team seems engaged. I’m not endgame but have heard that needs more variety - leveling up has been very enjoyable, though. Also a good amount of new content continues to be released. I’d recommend - no harm in trying for a bit.

From a Five to a one and back to a five

This game was on track to be something great. Recent update forced you to pay money to “sim” battles. That’s complete garbage. Deleted as it is no longer free to play. Updated: Devs saw how bad the choice to have you pay for “sim tickets” was and removed it very quickly. My hats off to you. I have nothing against trying something new, seeing it didn’t work and then backpedaling. Re-downloaded the game. Tested the “simming” and it works as mentioned. Very happy to be able to continue to play this game. - especially with content creators who listen to feedback

    An Uncertain Future for FTP

I have played this game for one month; currently level 58. This game launched at a time where people were tired of games like SWGOH or Marvel Strike Force for various reasons. A surge of players came in for the first 6 weeks. Many players were eager to spend money to secure their spot at the top. These whales convinced the devs to release more packs of ability scrolls which is the current bottleneck; where FTP players can keep somewhat of a pace with PTP players. Many ability scroll packs have flooded the game and can only be purchased with real life currency and not in game “dracoins” giving FTP players no chance to compete with PTP players. World chat has gone silent where only a handful of new players look for guilds. The discord channel “looking for guild” tab seems to be more higher level characters looking for good guilds since theirs disbanded. There has also been a real slow down of youtuber’s content. I believe the devs give the players anything they want when, in certain areas like the bottleneck, they should say no. When FTP players drop out, it quickly becomes PTP or stay at the bottom with no chance to be competitive. I really like the game but I fear with the lack of new players and a large group of PTP players, FTP players are soon to be pushed out early in the development of a game that currently lacks content and name recognition. Still love the game and will continue to play unless the gap between FTP and PTP grows too wide.

A solid gacha game without the big name

Been playing this game about a week now, so far I am sticking with it which says a lot since I tend to drop off most gachas. Graphics: 5/5 - Really like the graphics this game has they aren’t the most spectacular you will see in an iOS game but they are very appealing to me. Gameplay: 4/5 - Gameplay is your basic gacha with Arena, Campaign, Challenges, Events, Guilds and more. I hit a bit of a wall on the Hero Campaign at stage 4-2 out of 8. So time to grind and level up and gear up, all that jazz. Can’t say much for Arena or Guilds as I haven’t unlocked Arena yet and not joined a guild yet. For events, some are timed, and others are catered only to yourself. I’ve mostly just seen it as simple as ‘spend energy in Campaign to earn rewards’. Challenges will earn you extra Gear Materials, Gold, and XP Tomes. Shop Deals: 4/5 - I have so far seen two character offers in the shop. Both of which can be unlocked by just playing the game and grinding it out. But the deals were nice, only $1.99 each and you get plenty of gold, xp tomes and more. All in all I can’t say for sure if this game is pay to win or not yet. But it doesn’t feel like it. My only gripe are some of the characters names are REAY generic. Like Buff, Freezard,Puncherface, Robin Bad etc. Otherwise it’s a fun gacha without the big names attached to it like some others in the App Store.

    Fun for a while but...

This game is enough fun that I decided to spend a little money (though you totally don’t have to). Sadly, the drop rate of top-tier heroes is non-existent. I have opened 50 premium chests over a month long play period and I have unlocked exactly two of the top 20 or so heroes. I guess that speaks to the free-to-play nature of the game. They gotta get you spending money some how. I do recommend this game for F2P players, but honestly if I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t have spent what I did. So much of the game is accessible without spending money. And even though I only spent around $20, I regret at least half of that. It just doesn’t feel good when you open 10 premium chests in a row and get garbage, repeatedly. Bottom line: play this as F2P, but don’t be tempted to spend on the premium currency. It just isn’t worth it.

    Great Game

Definitely off to a great start. A terrific spin on the gacha game genre. I am enjoying almost every aspect of this gem of an app. My only real gripe I have at this time, is the fact that energy refreshes cost more the more you do it. (Ex: first 2 - 3 are only 50 premium currency, then it scales too 100, 200, 400, 800. At least the scaling is what I was told by other players. I noticed the jump to 100 and stopped refreshing energy.) The prices on most things in game are absolutely incredible compared to other mobile games. The customization of characters is just great. I also enjoy the fact that you can collect champions without the typical “random summoning factor” like most of these games do. If not for the punishment for energy refreshes, I would rate it 5 stars.

Edit: I quit the game. Can’t hold my attention.

As a mostly free to play mobile gamer, this is a refreshing hero collecting, turn-based game. The animations are great, the dev team has obviously performed a lot of play testing as nothing seems to be ‘broken’, and I’ve found myself buying cheap packs to support them and the game. It’s simple to pick and can become competitive. If you’re a light spender or free to play, this is a game for you. Let’s hope it stays this way. Edit: I had no connection with the characters, and the play was mostly rehashed from SWGOH. I did not feel like starting over in a similar game to SWGOH. The grind is not fun, whether buying or playing for free. Theory crafting becomes irrelevant when there is too much grinding for shards and mods. By the time a character is fully built, you are already behind the meta. I’d rather jump in to a game and theory craft quickly, than having to use characters chosen for me along a path. Thanks.

    Finally give review

When I played it the first time it didn’t hold my attention so I held on to the game but didn’t play. After some time passed I decided to play it again to add more variety to apps to play and now I stuck with it to play and find enjoyable to play. Sadly one small feature made me question to play it any further and that is “instant Loot”. Why? That’s because it was free to do to begin with but after an update now we have to “pay” to “unlock it” despite the fact it was unlocked before the update. Sure make any purchase to “unlock it” but like I said it was already “free” to do so. So in my point of view it felt like you sad screw you to my face. The game is fun but now forcing us to pay for a feature that was “free” to begin with brings down wanting to play any further hopefully it’s fixed before it’s too late for those who end up paying for it

    Going the wrong direction

I’ve been playing this for a few months now and I level capped (level 80) yesterday. The game mechanics are pretty good, the general feel is fun and not-too-serious, and the economy keeps you hungry, which is nice for making you want to come back and play more. I’ve appreciated that a lot of their bundles are just a couple of bucks, which allows for casual spenders to participate, as opposed to catering to whales-only. And if I’d written this up yesterday I probably would have given four stars. But just today Dragon Champions took a big step of increased monetization, with the introduction of the Fortnite-style Battle Pass, and hanging on it is a long-anticipated character for a popular faction. I am not a fan of this. At all. I do believe this is a sign that free and casual players can expect to be increasingly excluded as development goes on, and probably sooner rather than later.

    Jumping the shark...

This game has been great for FTP and whales alike. There was a good balance and value in what you bought. Now it’s just a money grab. The ads are terrible in frequency. The value of what you buy has diminished. The season passes are now not worth it. They flat out ripped off RAID with crystals to get heroes. Now you can accidentally spend your coins through without warning via new shady changes. The gap between tier 7 and 8 raids is ridiculous. I can solo parts of 7 as a mostly FTP player. 8 is impossible to do decent damage without paying a lot for your roster. Whale city. I don’t know who decided to make all of these changes, but they have hamstrung their game with greed. The toons aren’t universal like Star Wars or Marvel so why would you spend so much for a big Panda or a little pig?

Don’t bother playing unless you are planning on being P2W

For starters unless you are willing to be a pay to win player progression is virtually impossible at certain stages. Sure in time you might get somewhere but taking over a month to clear a single stage is beyond ridiculous. If you are playing every day and literally making zero progress anywhere then basically you may as well not be playing. The arena system is complete and utter garbage. Doesn’t even matter if you have a better team with infinitely better gear scores on all of your team the defense AI will always land everything and you will never land anything. And you basically instantly lose. Add to this the fact that your arena progression is locked and you end up doing what I do which is literally starting a game and auto quitting because there is zero reason to play the match out. You will lose pretty much 100% of the time so basically do your two matches a day to get daily reward and move on. No point in ever doing 5 or more arena fights a day. It would be nice to actually get to star up more characters but I repeatedly get 0 character pieces after 15-20 runs of the same level. Daily energy is limited as all heck so why am I not guaranteed something every time I do a set of 5 runs???? Honestly my biggest issue with this game is the fact that you never feel like you are progressing. Over 2 months in and I literally feel like I have nothing done at all.

    P2w

This game is heavily p2w they hide that fact by making loads of packs that only cost a few dollars and when I say loads I mean TONS!! Besides that fact that game is very unbalanced certain heroes like lula and solius are so overpowered I can’t think of a time I could beat them and I have spent over $400 on this game, They recently had an event where you could win solius if you had your orc team leveled up and I mean fully leveled if you want him I couldn’t even get past the 4th stage because they force you to use an orc team and I didn’t have the skill shards to do anything with them which was demoralizing to me. I’ll keep playing but will not spend another dime on this. If your new just invest in orcs nothing else. The entire game revolves around them no need to invest into anything else unless your heavily pay to win like 1k plus Trust me just invest in Orcs and only buy packs when you summon a new toon and put what you have into orcs if you want to win.

    Pay to win

Just another pay to win. Easy and fun to start but the higher you get the worse it gets. When you do the guild challenge you miss 50% of he time, it’s stupid. Pointless to pay anything because it won’t matter unless you spend a lot of money. The arena is regarded because you lose even when you should win. In the Arena even when you have more power you lose because it’s timed and you have to defeat all of the other team to win, which is Pointless and stupid. The higher you get the harder it is to compete without constantly spending money to get experience books, you continually keep falling farther behind without buying stuff to keep up. Becomes the ultimate pay to win scheme you have to spend a lot of money otherwise you cannot come close to competing. Waste of what could have been a good game .........
