    Fun stuff!

Took a second to get used to the mechanics, but once I did it was really fun and addictive. Some people seem to dislike that the character is always moving, but to me that adds to the challenge. I mean, all you are doing is pressing 2 directions. The game needs a way to stay fast paced and I think maybe that is why they did that. Retro games were always tough and you would die a lot until you got the rhythm down. But that's what I liked about them. This game has that element to it, along with great retro graphics and 16-bit music. Is this up to par with a Super Nintendo game with the Super Nintendo controller? Of course not. But for a 99-cent iPhone game this is really quite great!

Don't listen to anyone who didn't give this 4-5 stars

His is classic old school gaming. It takes skill and strategy and isn't easy to beat right away (but you'll get the hang of it quick). Any one who wrote a review criticizing the controls would have probably given Dig-Dug or Galaga bad reviews too. They don't really understand the game and don't want the challenge. Just download and play it. It's great.

    Fantastic!

This game is so fun and charming, it is hard not to smile when playing. The aesthetics and music are amazing (reminiscent of the Kirby and Paper Mario games in a way, in terms of style and how each stage is a literal one, with curtains and an audience) and the unique gameplay is quite fun. While it takes a bit of getting good at, it's easy to pick up and play. Definitely a game worth your time and money!

    Amazing.

This game is truly amazing. I would give it ten stars if I could.. The game has a lovely Kirby influence and feel to it, while still having its own complete story and characters. I'm personally rooting for a sequel or update because it feels so short, and I enjoy it so much. The ending feels really heartwarming and I can't wait to get the sequel (hopefully) someday.

    A fun little gem

I saw this online, and I thought I'd pick it up. For the price, it's a sweet game! Very charming, and a lot of polish. I like how the mechanics of auto-run and drop-shoot make the game more strategic, especially when trying to build a giant snowball combo. And the Music and art are great! Definitely worth your time, and a lot of simple, pure fun.

    Great arcade-style fun!

I don't usually write reviews, I just want to say the game is great and very well designed. People that are complaining about the controls don't seem to understand that they are intentionally designed to make you think, which I guess some people can't handle...

A great homage to classic video games

This game is amazing. It reminds me of the glory days of arcade games and consoles (1970s and 80s). The controls are great (but take some getting used to), the music is retro, and the difficulty presents a good challenge. Hopefully some additional levels are eventually added. Congrats to the developers on a stellar game. Buy it!

    Love it.

Drop Wizard has all of the charm of the ultra cutesy arcade/console games from my childhood (Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Island, Kickle Cubicle, Adventures of Lolo), yet remains somehow incomparable and unique. It also plays as if it were made for the platform, which is an alien concept to some development teams, but not this one. I really love this game.

    Not perfect but fun

Nice Kirby-like graphics and music. The negative comments are a little extreme. This is a simple little game that has a nice renewed retro feel. Having said that, I do have a few complaints. -The controls aren't awful as some have said but I would prefer just one touch controls to change from direction instead of two side controls. -It gets quite annoying when I lose a life to falling on top of an enemy. I might suggest being able to hurt enemies by hitting their head. -Also, with the enemies that need to be hit twice, you can get stuck between it and the wall you have to lose a life. -What are the points for???

    Loving Homage to Classic Gaming

Anyone who remembers classics like Bubble Bobble or Rod-Land will enjoy the nostalgic rush this game provides. With its cute graphics and cheery music, it's hard not to be charmed by the whole production. The only area of disappointment concerns the auto-run control scheme, which some gamers are bound not to like despite that they work well within the limitations of the touch screen. I believe they add a nice element of technique and challenge to the proceedings once the initial awkwardness is overcome, but some alternate control options would still be appreciated. Otherwise, this title is well worth the price.

    A neat retro-styled arcade game

First off this is a beautiful game. Im an artist and a very visual person, so the graphics alone convinced me to buy this game. I've played this game and put it back down a number of times but I still can't figure out what I don't like about it. One thing is that the controls don't seem 'right'. It could be the auto-walk or possibly the drop firing (which I realize is where the game name comes from), but whatever it is it just doesn't seem to click. I can't deny it's amazing graphics, smooth animations, cute characters, and the very fitting soundtrack, but with all of that said im just not crazy about it. In conclusion I think I want to like this game more than I really do. If you're looking for a unique retro-styled arcade game then I think it's definitely worth the dollar, just don't expect it to compare it to the classics.

Only one thing I have an issue with

The gameplay was addictive and fun, and I LOVE how they didn't do the stupid "Oh no you ran out of lives now you have to wait 15 minutes!" But there is something I have a problem with. This game is so. Freaking. Short. This should DEFINITELY have an update with at least 5 more worlds with two levels in each world like it currently is. Other than that, I absolutely LOVE this game :)

The game is okay, but needs some control options.

I don’t like that the character auto runs once you press a direction. I would rather that he only move while I hold that direction, and stop moving when I lift my finger from the screen. I also would rather have the directional movement contained only on the left side of the screen. It feels unnatural as a traditional gamer to use my right hand to move right. I’d rather use only my left thumb to control both my left and right movement like you would with a traditional game controller. Other than those problems, the game is pretty great. Very charming characters and graphics. Stylistically, the art direction feels very much inspired by Nintendo’s Kirby games. And the gameplay is pretty innovative.
