Unique twist on an RPG
I'm not a big fan of RPG games because they tend to be overly complicated and I find the combat boring. This game is different and fun! I'm still a beginner so I haven't unlocked all the content yet but so far the game doesn't look like it's going to get crazy complicated while still showing variety and depth. The battles are actually fun instead of boring because it's not your typical combat. You roll dice to attack and you can keep rolling as many times as you are able. The twist is that rolling a one will make you lose your turn so you want to keep rolling to get a higher attack value but every roll is a gamble that you might get a one. If you've ever played the dice game "You Blew It!" then you will understand the appeal. This is a free game so I highly recommend giving it a try!
A darn good game
I've only been playing for a little while, but so far I'm loving this game. At first it just seems to be a game of luck, but as you go on and get more types of dice there's more strategy to it. There's a bit of humor in the dialog, but it's kind of hard to catch on it it since the developers seem to hate commas. There are micro transactions, but they're not really forced down your throat, and so far they're only for things you can get for free in the game with just a bit of work. Although like I said I just started playing, so this might change later on. The only thing I don't like is how the bosses are really just big versions of the smaller monsters. Literally it's the same Sprite just with bigger pixels, and that seems a bit lazy to me. It's a minor gripe though.
Excellent game!
2015-Dec: For Pokemon-style with their own twist, Kongregate pulled off the impossible - they got me to love a free game so much I "donated" $$ through an in-app purchase. There is longevity, randomness, strategy, and humor, everything you want in a game like this. Three free games in 7 years have earned a 5-star rating from me and this is one of them. The removal of energy update is what changed this from a 4- to a 5-star game, purely because it lets anyone play at their own pace (casually during the week, binge on weekends if I want). Things I'd love to see: move pvp tiers! More zones! More items! Not that the game needs those things, I'm just a lover of this game. Also, perhaps tournaments in which players compete once a week for 24 hours to see who can capture the most creatures? Rewards could be simple, tiered, top 10% get an uncut die, 50% get some random shards, and bottom get items and exp boosts. Or something like that, be as generous or as stingy as you want. Can also incorporate tournament points as some sort of in-game currency that unlocks special rewards, with 3-4 months of participation needed to collect everything.
A hidden gem
This I game has easily became one of my favorite games on mobile devices! It is both challenging and fun. And unlike other mobile games, most micro transactions are not needed at all to do well. The main problem I have is how much I had to grind. My monsters would constantly die on later levels, so I had to play the same earlier levels over and over again. But luckily, Phoenix ups are very cheap so getting killed isn’t that much of a problem. Also, I wish that we can’t just get evolution cubes from just daily events. Evolving one monster is already hard enough, but having to evolve 2 is a nightmare. Overall I think this game is amazing and super underrated.
Adventure and free roam
In this game you can free roam you’re dungeon areas go to town different places I like the freedom you get while playing Like it’s not forcing you into doing other things when you are ready to do what you want and also about the dice in this game there creative and kinda gives you a Pokémon vibe the items are very creatively named the names are funny and have cool references the chests at the end of the dungeon you do there are chests you can get items big dice rocks and dice pieces and rescuing people is fun you get special items when you do like the guy that helps you crush rock dice this game has so much to it I will never stop playing it thank you for making the game.😁😀😃
Genius little game - well BIG little game
I'm really enjoying this quirky little battler. There was one mechanic that took a while to figure out. READ THIS: you need to (well SHOULD) keep rolling the dice during your attack rounds - your minion too. I thought the best I could roll was the combined total of the number of dice you have. Wrong, you can keep rolling and get huge HUGE attacks, but if you roll a 1 you fail and pass on your attack turn. It's really awesome to keep rolling and get up to 70 then 80 then Attack! (Or roll a 1 and the get the buzzer). Nice work, also clever way to offer the secret underground sale offer with the dragon guy after the boss fight in the catacombs I think. Clever
Good game
Seems well balanced. It is basically a dungeon crawl where you collect monsters which aid you in battle. To make it more interesting, they have varied attacks from fire to poison, etc. Money is in two areas: gold, which can be picked up after defeating monsters, and uncut gems. The uncut gems are the game currency. They aren’t a game breaker, but do help make things a bit easier. The only item I have found that is broken is the cinema. Supposedly, you watch a “movie” (read App ad), and get a token which you can redeem for items. I have watched many of these ads and, although it says I got a token, I didn’t. This needs to be fixed.
If you have a gambling problem: you're gonna' have some problems...
It's a fun game. Probability is a very powerful tool when used logically, and this game takes advantage of that. So, as you go forward through your rolls and expend possible outcomes: you can either choose to roll in the hopes of a redundancy in the rolls (i.e. getting a same/similar roll twice or more), or you can take the total value of what you earned and have no possibility of missing. Unless you're an oracle or a time-traveler: you'll probably get over-confident and miss on occasion. It's a fun game that I would recommend.
Well Done
...that is, if you like your games that heated. This game is definitely challenging to play, but it creates great satisfaction when you are victorious. The battle system is reliable enough and the game mechanics are solid. The only things I have a problem with are capture dice and challenge curve. When you need to use capture dice to capture monsters, you suddenly find you need a LOT to have a chance at success. It is already difficult enough to initiate this through rolling the exact amount of AP to match the monster's remaining HP. My other point is related because without being able to get better monsters, the opponents can almost one-shot your monsters with a lucky succession of rolls. I'm talking about a fire snail (35 HP) basically dealing 100 AP to my monsters which barely even have more than 100 HP. The previous issues can be solved easily with one feature: make about half of every defeated monster drop shards so I can make more capture dice so I can get better monsters so I can withstand the challenge curve. Then, I will continue to play the game and possibly provide the rewards of either making a microtransaction or telling one of my friends to play.
Interesting...
This game is quite unique and interesting. Pretty fun to play, unique and fun gameplay, but also uses a mild pay to win type model, which is both annoying, and which I am not a fan of. Payed items include in-game gold, dice "shards", valuable in-game items, and "uncut dice", all of which are too expensive for me. Supposed to have an option to earn "stamps"/"cinema points", but even though I have not watched any video ads, the app will not allow me to watch any to earn points. This would be a pretty good system, even though most of the items seem too expensive with this method. However, this system will not even work at all for me. Update: No sooner did I write this review, than I went back to the app, and it gave me an option to watch a movie for THE first time after playing for a few days. However, I watched TWO videos instead of one, and neither "stamp"/"cinema point" was awarded to me. Very aggravating.
Good Game, Great Update, TERRIBLE BUG
Love this game, have been playing for years. The recent update is great and I was quite surprised to see it because it seemed as if the devs had moved on completely. I hope they continue to develop and add content (and new monsters) to this game! There’s nothing quite like it out there and the uniqueness really stands out in this casual and fun game. HOWEVER, I am now seeing an issue with PVP content that never existed before recently when I started playing this game again. I would go into the PVP content, be notified that I lost xx dice due to being attakced. I would take revenge and upon succeeding, steal the dice back. When I re-enter the arena immediately after, my dice count REVERTS back to the amount I had before the revenge, permanently. For example, I could have 1000 dice, lose 100 from battle, get 115 back, then see at the beginning of the subsequent battle that I have only 900 total. Please fix.
Nice game but heavy emphasis on buy-ins
This game is based on luck, but its not video ad driven and hasn't crashed on my old iPad (iOS 9.3.5). I can play for a long time and without feeling bored. I like playing a game where I'm not getting bombarded with ads. Another reason I like this game is that I can play without an ad interrupting. I hate it when the ad crashes the game & you lose your progress. But, the downsides are the constant pushing for in game purchases & slower progress without purchasing items. Luckily, grinding for higher level isn't that bad. However, playing to get certain items can get irritating. And, that is where you could buy your way around that hurtle, but that would quickly become very expensive.
Needs an unpdate
It's a good game and I've had a lot of fun playing it but you need to update some features. 1. The cinema won't play movies at all. If you're not showing ads right now that's fine but I spent hard earned building materials to build that thing and it does nothing. 2. When you get higher up, you start to use different combinations of dice and items against different opponents and it's a pain to switch out all my dice and items every few battles or every time I fight in pvp. There should be a feature where you can store different combinations of your dice or items and just have to press a button to switch them out. 3. Rolling a one on your first die is stupid. I get that the game is based on probability, but if I go through every person on my team and literally role ones on every first die, it's just unfair. That happens way more than you would think it should. 4. Pvp is great except for when you have a bunch of trophy dice and you get matched up against a really challenging opponent with 0 dice. And then you get maybe two trophy dice from all the time fighting. Honestly it's just absurd.
Ok But Needs An Update
The game overall is ok but just the fact that 1. If you are missing one common dice shard (or whatever it is called) you need to give an ultra. I mean come on! One common dice shard is not worth an ultra! You should've thought more about that. 2. You can only get uncut dice if you spend real money. Seriously!?!? Who are you trying to fool?!?! Pls add something that at least lets you get uncut dice for free! And I don't mean get a lot for free but maybe add a mine button in the mine and you can mine for uncut dice yourself instead of spending real money!!!! And if you add that pls don't add energy and don't make it too hard to get uncut dice from mining. Maybe add a mining shop and put pick axes there and drills and fuel. Maybe you can make different pick axes and each one has a more chance of getting an uncut dice. And again if you do pls don't make them cost real money or too overpriced. But overall it's ok
