How does it Work?

Arrow Words is a classic crossword app with a useful twist. In arrow words puzzles, the clues are shown right in the puzzle grid, making them easy to view and play on the iPad screen.

This lovingly produced app includes 400 all-new Arrow Words puzzles in 4 levels. Easier levels use simpler words and a smaller grid, perfect for a short break. Harder levels have tougher clues and larger puzzle grids for hours of challenging fun. Also, careful editing and a huge pool of words ensure that clues don’t repeat too often.

The sound and graphics are also designed for true crossword aficionados. Choose from three visual interfaces that recreate the atmosphere of the crossword in the Sunday paper. If you miss using your favorite pen to solve puzzels, you’ll love the optional sounds of a moving pen as you fill in the squares, custom recorded for each letter!

PLEASE NOTE: our puzzles are created by British puzzle editors especially with players from Commonwealth countries in mind. Of course, North American players are welcome to join the fun.

Fun family activity

I like playing this with my oldest son. The iPad format is perfect for crossword puzzles, it’s easy to change your answers. The different puzzles levels and sizes mean there’s something for every situation.

Great crosswords. When you complete all 100 puzzles of one of the level, just start over again. IMPORTANT! These are British puzzles with British words and spellings!

Nice Challenge

This app has lots of levels (4), and provides a good challenge. 99 puzzles per level. No annoying ads or requests to buy more content. No overly repetitive clues, has an interesting format, and lots of features - like checking for errors, solve letter, solve word. You must think like an American and a Brit to be able to get all of the words and spellings. Easy level would be a slight challenge to people who are inexperienced in crosswords.

A more than decent crossword app

So far I'm really enjoying this app, there's multiple levels of difficulty so as you get more practice you can advance your skills. My only gripe so far is the white on white grid background makes it sometimes difficult to distinguish how much of the puzzle is left to solve.

I like this app!

This is a fun and challenging app. I like how it's timed according to your actual game play. I do wish that they didn't erase a puzzle once you complete it in order to go on to the next puzzle. I purchased enough puzzles to last me a while!😀😀😀

Good game

I wrote earlier about how much I like this game....but now after having it for months, now the sound is gone. As a result I am not enjoying it as much.

It's good

It seems to be british so for the US there will be different uses of words and spellings. But it's still doable. I like the set-up.

Crossword Puzzle

I have to keep remembering that it's British. I've never encountered some of the words. The clues are sometimes impossible to read, the font is so small.
