    I don’t usually give 5 stars...

...but this game is simply awesome. I have improved greatly and I win much more often now because the game is engaging and entertaining. I love the fact that you can customize the background and card backs. The game controls are intuitive and easy to master, yet they also are comprehensive and don’t hinder the gameplay in their simplicity. I find the animations are a nice little reward when I win. I do have one small bit of feedback, though. I have made it to Grand Master level and every time I fill up the points bar, it shows a badge icon like there’s another title above Grand Master. There isn’t. I still love being able to see my points total, but I could do without having to clear that badge icon every couple of days. Like I said it’s a small bit, certainly not worth deducting a star, but worth looking into I think. Thanks for the years of great games and keep them coming!

    Best FreeCell used to be

This is the best one I’ve found. I finally bought it. The free version had irritating ads. I put up with it for a while until I got tired enough to pay for the ad free version. It’s worth to me. Update: this “was” my favorite game for various reasons. My go to game. But then they did an update. I didn’t mind some of the changes. Though it was irritating to go in and have to reset up my preferences. But with this new version I lost what made this my go to game over the others. It filled the screen, taking away the time and battery level at the top. That’s why I played this game over others. I could keep track of both easily. With that gone, I am now playing something else during times I need to keep track. Too bad, it’s becoming less and less attractive for me.

    Free cell review

I have been playing free cell for about 15 years so you may conclude that I like to play. Recently the game has been given another overhaul which included that removal of the statistics section which included the number of games won and lost by a player. This information was important to me as I have played in the area of 50,000 games and enjoyed checking my statistics from time to time. People, if it’s not broken why fix it? Regarding the game itself my comment is that after playing for a period of time the player knows how the game will play in specific situations. It is not like playing with a human who has the ability to think what your play means.

    I hate the update!

Please bring the former, pre-updated version back. The daily goals were so much better. The whole visual thing just got stupid looking. Looks like you market it to 5 year-olds. And the thing I absolutely hate the most is you took away the ability to play quickest way possible. I can double tap a card and instead of going to the foundation row where it belongs, I have the “option” of tableau or Free Cell, and I don’t want either of those options. It costs time and loses points! I really hate the update!

    New Version

I’m not happy with the new version. The system clock is missing which I used frequently. I travel frequently in an RV. While riding down the road I could play free cell with no problem. With the new version it won’t load properly and crashes in the middle of a game when finally does load. If you’re going to put a new version out without leaving the old version available to use you should at least test it for problems. An unhappy camper.

    Finally Ad Free

I enjoy playing free cell with MobilityWare. I've suffered through the ads that were, frankly, becoming increasingly intrusive, holding my enjoyment of the game hostage. I finally decided to buy the game for $4.99 and I am so glad that I did. No more ads are popping up. Hallelujah! I love the daily goals, which wasn't available in other versions. The game works faster in the purchased version. For the price of one visit to Starbucks, I am released from the bondage of advertising.

I love the game, I hate the ads, I hate the animations

I’m happy to pay for an app. If I pay, don’t show me the ads. There’s an app that is in the pop cube type. It has a red, manicured, obviously fake finger popping the cubes. I have it timed now, so I don’t have to look at the screen to know when the X is coming on to close the friggin ad. Sometimes I think that if I have to look at that finger once more, I am going to scream. I’ve unchecked everything I can find to get rid of the animated cards that show up when you win a game. They make me nauseous. They twist, bend, turn and I honestly get sick to my stomach. I guess I’m going to have to find another free cell, pay to not have the ads, and get rid of Mobilityware. The game is fun. The rest is not. If you like the game, don’t buy this app. Find another one that doesn’t have a red finger.

    Best Version of Freecell!

Yes - I like the visuals, the additions of goals to achieve, and the graphics with the update. Mobilityware continues to please with this version of Freecell! Great graphics, player options that put you in control of the game, and the Daily Challenge. I'll be looking for other game apps from this team in days to come. Now, Mobilityware, your challenge is do similar updates to your other solitaire games such as Pyramid and TriPeaks. Why not add a new solitaire game while you're at it?!

    Fantastic!!!!

This version of Free cell has turned itself into a MONSTER game with it's new revamping to a graduated difficulty format. Previous, I have always clumped along winning some and losing a lot of others. Now the graduated system is actually training me by offering me increasingly difficult games. I am now able to develop my skills while solving increasingly difficult games. And I am winning, winning, winning!! What a fantastic version this has become.

Please add a way to disable daily goals

Update. The daily goals now has some use for me! However, is probably not the use you intend. Because it tells me that I have won my first game of the day, I now only play one game per day. (To be clear, this is meant as tongue-in-cheek; I would still prefer a way to disable daily goals.) I love this game, because much of it is old-school FreeCell, with the ability of playing both random games and numbered games. However, I have no intention of playing it daily. I have daily goals for Spanish, not for solitaire. Please give us a way to totally turn daily goals off. I’ll bump it back up to five stars if you do.

Still Good, but update was not needed

I still like this game and play it regularly, but the update seems more targeted at "monetizing" the app as opposed to providing a better user experience. Here's changes that would improve the latter: 1. Ending animations, after a win, that are tied to how well you did, and are better and more interesting the better you did in the game. Gives you something to shoot for. 2. Something that indicates the difficulty level of a board. 3. Merging 1 and 2 above such that a great game on a higher difficulty board produces a super animation at the end. 4. Adding a setting that allows you to turn the prompt asking whether to auto-finish or not off, and to automatically auto-finish at that point. 5. Adding a history/save function so you can see the game codes and scores/times of the games you've played, and replay any you wish to.

    Good game

I play Solitaire, FreeCell, spider solitaire, & pyramid every day, and they are all good games to challenge your mind, but I wish the developer would fix an annoying bug. Once you’ve won enough games the game will tell you that you’ve achieved a certain level. However when you go to the list of levels, that level doesn’t appear in the list and despite trying, you can never scroll down any further. I’ve reported it to the developer, but despite what he says about reading reviews, they don’t pay attention. I find that annoying. I do wish there was some consistency between the games about where the daily goals button appears. I also wish the developer would show the actual time in the upper corner like he does in one game. I often use the games to kill time before having to leave for an appointment. It would be nice to be able to see the time while playing, regardless of the game.

    Good game but with issues

I enjoy playing this version of freecell, but have found two issues that are irritating. First, there is great emphasis on goals and striving to achieve new levels. That’s not why I play solitaire. I play solitaire to relax. I wish I could turn off all the flashing notifications and just enjoy the game. The other issue is this. I like to play winnable games. On a recent flight to Alaska, I tried to play and was told that the “winnable game” option was only available when connected to WIFI. WHAT???!!! I travel a lot internationally, and am often out of WIFI range! Why can’t they include a selection of winable games that can be available offline? If these two issues were corrected, I would gladly give this game 5 stars.

    “Elegant” They Say? Hmmmm

The 5.0.2 update user interface is not “elegant”, as stated in the app upgrade info box - at least not to my tastes in a user interface. The sharp, crisp design of the previous version was superior. The “blockiness” of the current version has a look seen in games designed for the very young. Sacrificed in this disappointing “upgrade” is the system clock in the top area of the screen above the playing board. That omission is just dumb... but necessary with the designers’ penchant for a game experience most appreciated by a child of 5 years old. Another “annoyance”... The poorly considered change in how the cards are “flushed” to the home piles when all the cards have been revealed in a low to high arrangement.
