10/10 in humor, interest, and just being a good game in general.

Hello! I think Kitty Letter is a fun, addictive, and challenging game. I love it! For an example of it being challenging, I am stuck on Level 9 of the story mode😂 I promise, I think you’ll love it if you are reading this so you get an idea about the game, If you are I am going to explain more about the game. Kitty Letter is a game by the creators of Exploding Kittens, a card game with humor, strategy, and is great to play with friends and family! Just like Exploding Kittens, Kitty Letter is a strategy game with the same great humor as the Exploding Kittens game, except instead of playing cards, you are playing letters to make words to make exploding kittens to demolish your neighbor ( In story mode.) But as in multiplayer mode, with friends. This game is absolutely free and is surprisingly fun for a letter game, and remember, “With great Kittens, comes great responsibility.” Thank you for reading my review, and have a good time sending exploding kittens to your neighbors front door! 🙂👍

    Thank you!

Finally - a game I can play against everyone in my family, and win every single time! The video game world is not exactly set up for people like me - people who are not lingering in their teens. But here at last, there is a benefit to having lived long enough to remember what words looked like when they were more than text abbreviations. And when my husband and daughter get tired of losing to me, we can sit on the couch together to play against a stranger. While I am busy forming words like there’s no literary tomorrow, my family can get busy lobbing spiders and bombs for me. I have to admit... it’s honestly nice to hear, “You’re awesome, mom,” come out of my daughter’s mouth in regards to a game. Well, ok, it’s nice to hear those words at all. But Kitty Letter definitely gave me a few points in her eyes. :)

Hilarious twist unlike many other word games

I have always loved The Oatmeal AND word games. This game is a great combination of the two, as it’s more than a word search... it’s more of a hilarious competition against !!!exploding kittens!!! as featured in The Oatmeal comics for many years. It’s equal parts funny and interesting, and it actually feels like I’m playing a game with a purpose, whereas other word games I don’t feel a purpose after a while. Since it’s in its earlier stages as a game, I’d say this is a game mostly for native English speakers right now just from the challenge of putting together words from scrambled letters, but I’m sure the creator has in mind the idea of it expanding to other languages when it gains speed!!!

Join the Resistance and download this game!

The Catpocalypse is upon us... First, they came with their bombs and a superior command of the space time continuum with the ability to summon super massive black holes...but we managed to defeat them with lasers...Next they turned our own children against us and forced us to build untold abominations from the exploded parts of creatures from the first war...we again defeated the invaders but they left us with a parting gift...crabs...we all got them...and not the kind from Alaska...with the devastation of the first two wars we are left with only one option to defend ourselves...burritos...only time will tell if humanity is able to survive this feline onslaught....

    Memory leakin' greatness (please read)

This game is awesome—the art, story, gameplay and music are all excellent. Very original & fun to play. Can't wait to try multiplayer. Did I mention the music? Reminds me of a mix of The Neverhood and Cirque du Soleil. Very cool. I wish there were more tracks. Serious question: any chance you can make this track available to purchase as a single on iTunes? Or release a game soundtrack? Thanks in advanced. There is definitely a memory leak that causes the whole thing to chug: if you play through story mode in one sitting, by the end of it the "3..2..1" audio countdown will be way out of sync with what appears on screen, and you'll see frame rate drops elsewhere etc. I assume this'll be easy for the developers to fix. I'm on an iPhone 8+ running the latest iOS. One other annoyance: I am dying all kinds on the final chapter. I wish I didn't have to tap through the story scenes each time I retry. The story is great, of course, but when I'm already in that context I don't need to see it for each retry.

    Clever, challenging, fun!

This game is awesome, a mashup of Boggle and tower defense/survival. I played through the story mode (which also serves as a tutorial) so that I could play arcade mode (which is the only mode I want to play, I don’t care about multiplayer). I really like arcade mode. The pace slowly increases, but it’s not stressful to me. It’s fun to try to beat my high score. I haven’t had the game delete progress yet, like others have mentioned, so I hope that is fixed because I wouldn’t want to play story mode again just to get to the arcade mode. I suggest the developers should let arcade mode always be unlocked for those of us who already know how to play, so if the game resets we can still play arcade mode. I haven’t had any issues yet though. I appreciate the super fair monetizing for such a good game, and no ads. I like supporting developers like this and plan to make one of the optional IAP (purely cosmetic, thank you) to support them. This is the only word game that’s ever felt fun to me. Thank you, it’s a keeper!

    Cute?

The story mode is pretty goofy and far more entertaining than a basic tutorial. The added strategy for what word you play when is also interesting, giving a new dimension to this sort of word game, and enabling competition in a way that’s far more interesting than a straight up race. That said, the number of words that aren’t accepted is frustrating; I’ve only played through 6 or 7 rounds and I’m already finding myself tripping over thinking I have ammunition and the word simply not working. And on the flip side, sometimes the longer word is very modern and takes me by surprise (like things I still doubt are legitimate compound words, ex. soymilks? Really?) So I like it for the concept and the art, but the dictionary really is the base of functionality for a game like this, and that needs work. (Please work on it????)

    Bugs (Not Including Spider Pugs)

Fun game, the game is playable and it is fun to see more lore for Exploding Kittens-the premises in the story mode are very funny. The art style and comedy are perfectly in sync. There are a number of glitches I encountered during gameplay. For me, it’s hard to tell if some of them are intentional one way or the other. The items in my inventory are sometimes used by the enemy CPU or when I use them, they may impact enemy cats instead of mine. I am also unsure if I am supposed to be able to see the enemy inventory because it is sometimes visible to me. Looking at other reviews, I see that others also had trouble where finger taps were sometimes not picked up-a manual letter scramble fixes it but I would prefer rather to spell than scramble. Also, the final boss may use letters I already spelled, is that intentional too?

    awesome game, could be more

i love love LOVE the concept, played through the story mode in about half an hour. i think it's super fun and right up my alley, and all signs point to it being a 5 star game. BUT... i think there is so much more potential. different game modes, maybe? or a randomized game mode for multiplayer (like only 2 letter words or only can start with a vowel, something of that sort). maybe some kind of league? or just more story based levels? i don't even need story to go along with it, just challenge levels that get harder as it goes, like arcade mode but level based. overall, i really do love this game, which is why i'm being harsh on it; i want more because i know it could be even better.

Brilliant sound effects for a good game

Every time I open up this app, my partner starts to laugh because the sound effects are so over-the-top. The story mode was quite enjoyable and I am pleasantly surprised at how addictive the arcade mode has been. It would be nice to move the collected weapons a bit further away from the vortex. Sometimes items get “trapped” under a letter and I’m not able to drag them out without tapping it *just* right. The dictionary is being used here is a bit suspect. “Exing” is an example of a word it suggested that I could have played...It’s not a word and also - I did try it and it wasn’t accepted! 😅 I do really enjoy this game, and I hope to see some improvements in the future.

    Fun!

Fun to play with a nice story line and great illustrations. Only frustration is speed changes rapidly and you can’t choose to change the vortex, it changes it for you, so sometimes you’re stuck with no way to get rid of kitties when you’ve already played all the words that start with a certain letter. Would be cool to be able to change/reload vortex yourself. Also not super easy to use many of the special presents because either not enough is happening or too much is. Sometimes hard to hit right letters and can’t go back on a word so that can slow you down. Overall quite fun though and excellent for a free game!

    fun but flawed

The game is clever and entertaining while it lasts (story mode is maybe 20 minutes, tops). But the input system is flawed—the letters are too close together, so you’ll struggle to complete words correctly. Since you have to focus so hard on the tiny letters, you can’t really look at the play area, so any strategy to counter certain letters is impossible — by about round 2 of arcade mode, you’re basically just spamming words and hoping for the best. And there’s no way to predict when your letter bank will reset (it seems to be an inactivity timer?) so you can’t factor that into your gameplay. Perhaps when you’ve gotten enough words or completed the pangram you could reset the word bank yourself? Also, external keyboard input is not supported — that’s a shame. Many people depend on alternative input devices.

    Fun but buggy

Fun game concept and addictive to play, if you try not to focus too much on the actual workings of the game... half the time I’m playing the cats seem to walk right past my house and not count against me, and the other half my cats do the same to the neighbors house. The game gets even more glitchy if I play to too much without reloading the app. The letter bank has the letters too close together so it’s hard to make words when the pace of the game speeds up and you have a lot of letters. It also seems like there’s no way to tell when the letter bank will reset. I would love to see the bugs fixed since it is such a fun game on the occasions that it does work. I would also love arcade levels with the game variations that are in the story section!

    Buggy

Game is fun but just now, I lost all my progress in the story mode and all of my stats (best word played, wins/losses in multiplayer games). It reset everything so the update didn’t quite fix it. Players should be able to create a profile that they can save or delete their data and start over, if they choose to. Also, it gets quite laggy after playing multiple games. In multiplayer games, both players should be required to opt into a rematch instead of one player starting the game when the other may want to just exit the game. Maybe put in a countdown for the match to start so the other player can leave. I do like the game but there’s room for improvement and bugs to fix.
