Cant play yet, I trust it’s good

I was really excited when I saw this game and I forgot to read which devices were compatible. I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t think my iPad is compatible because I cannot even get to the main screen without it crashing. Cant wait to play once support is out for it though! 4 seems to be the average rating for this game so I will rate it that so it doesn’t affect ratings too much when I cant play. This just launched so I hope it will be compatible soon, but even if it takes a while I trust it’ll be worth the wait

    First game, but easier

This is the Reborn that you probably played on PC or console but on the phone. The game is still on a six note field unlike the first game. So in a sense this makes Reborn easier than the first now that you can touch screen. At least they added the snowflake note sets back into the Snowflake song. It was missing from the Steam port. But at least I can hear Alice on the go. And cry all over again for the third time on the same story.

    Nearly perfect experience

As the title suggests, the game is pretty phenomenal right out of the gate. The music is as fantastic as I remember from the original Deemo, and the puzzles within the game are fairly intuitive to solve using touch controls. The one major issue I’ve encountered so far is during multiple cutscenes is the animation will freeze up despite the audio continuing without any issue (although I can’t rule out it just be a problem with my phone rather than something in the game itself). Closing and relaunching the game seems to fix the problem so far, but it is slightly irritating to have to do so with about every other cutscene. Other than that, I am absolutely loving this experience so far

Incredible new way to play the original, but...

DEEMO -reborn- is a game where you play as a little girl with a very black slenderman thing that plays the piano. Now this may sound not very fun but it very much is. If you’ve played NOSTALGIA in arcades, this is exactly the same, but what sets this apart is the absolutely incredible story and artwork. Only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is it crashes way too much on an iPhone 8. In any other case, amazing game.

A beautiful new take on the original.

Deemo was my first ever rhythm game, and I’m happy to say that I’m impressed with the remake. The character models and animations, environment and dialogue translate surprisingly well to mobile, and the introduction of puzzle mechanics and interactive environment fit well with the aesthetic and feel of Deemo’s world— while even further immersing the player into the fantasy and mystery of the castle. To top it all off, the gameplay is rich, punchy and familiar— and a welcome expansion to what the game has known in the past! Rayark’s early design choices with Deemo and Cytus were sufficient, but lacked identity— and while I was hoping to see some upgrades with the release of Deemo II, I’m more than happy to have a grip on this early taste of what that game may be like. I was heartbroken when I saw the early Deemo: Reborn trailers, I was desperate to give it a try but lacked the hardware— so I cannot explain my excitement when I saw it coming to iOS! I was prepared for the game to have it’s shortcomings— a transition from PlayStation/VR to mobile is a drastic one, but I was thoroughly impressed with the upkeep of visuals and resources. I only wish that I could say the same about the UI. The glaring white of the game’s UI is jarring to say the least, and the progress wheel in the corner of the screen as opposed to the bar at the top takes up unnecessary space and drags you by the leg out of your suspension of disbelief. I have genuinely no idea why they changed it, the percentage progress is completely unnecessary and the overload of information makes the ending screen practically useless— not to mention the choppy, painfully rendered castles that appear after an FC or AC. The text and fast speed of the render genuinely scared me the first time it showed up, and it only makes me upset that THAT is what they decided to replace the original coin designs with. :( Similarly, the individual wheels during the ending screen feels clunky as well. Why not simply show the numbers? I understand the effort, a minimalist, white and clean UI is often praised for the ability to suspend your disbelief— but with Deemo: Reborn, it feels like it has the opposite effect. Too much unnecessary information clogs the screen, but during the exploration segments there’s too *little* information. Exploration is... A slog. I expected that, to be fair, and it doesn’t take away from the central gameplay— but it makes me unexcited to solve puzzles, and even approaching the piano can be difficult sometimes. A more streamlined control system and faster camera speed could fix this issue. Adjusting the camera speed only makes the *end* speed faster, for some reason— which could very well be a glitch, but it’s an unfortunate one. :( Too little of the environment can actually be looked at, and trying to move the camera will throw it into a completely undesired location. To sum it up, this game makes me excited. Excited to experience Deemo through a new lens, but also for the game to improve. As of now, I am happy to explore the game as it is— but I hope that overtime, its shortcomings will be able to become features of the game that I and future players will be able to appreciate. :)

    Great experience, but...

Hello, the game so far has been going well for me on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I haven’t gotten far in the game but I been having problems so far.The issues I have been having is how some of the scenes tend to glitch. That is not all, when I try to watch the clips from the projector in the game. It suddenly closes 5 seconds into the small clip. Another problem I been having movement speed of the character since it clearly is slow when I move around. It’s good but wish it was easy to move since it takes a while when doing a 180 degree turn. And finally the loading of the background tends to take a while, and is all blurry. My wifi is fast and my phone is clear up to date. The issue is the game not clearly being made well. Thank you for you time and hope to have these issues revolved.

    One major problem

The game is pretty good and fun but there is one major problem that I can’t overlook due to the reason that it impedes further progress for me. When I reach the basement and have to play the ‘Magnolia’ song after finishing the song the game crashes every time and since the game auto saves once you finish the song when you load it up it just keeps crashing. Because of this I can no longer move forward in the game which is why I’ve decided to give this game two stars, it seems like a really good game but this one bug kind of ruins it for me. I hope the developer is able to fix this in the future so I can enjoy this game to its fullest potential.

    Game crashes all the times

Open game for the first time - crash. Pickup music score - crash. Enter cut scene - crash. Play Magnolia - your save is ruined and will crash on load.

Just as good as the original, BUT needs QoL changes

EDIT: Bumping the review down to 2 stars from 4. WHY are you not showing us which iPhones are compatible? I had to google for this info and the minimum is a iPhone XS. Having iOS 13.0 on older phones doesn’t make a difference and is not playable at all. The gameplay is the same as the original Deemo, but I’m enjoying the added puzzles and secrets in each room. The music is great as always (though with some changes to some pieces). BUT there’s a lot of small things that was annoying: -Give more graphics options other than Default and Low -Navigation for selecting songs is slow and clunky. We can swipe left and right for Selections, but we have to tap the arrows to change songs. It gets tedious when I’m trying to flip through songs in the main collection -When you tap on a collection on either side of the one in the center, it selects the one in the center instead of selecting the one next to it -We can zoom in and out of puzzles, but we can’t adjust zoom when walking around -The game is landscape locked to one side

    rushed

this game is conceptually a great idea for moblie, easy to play tapping rhythm game, a beautiful, yet simple 3D reimagining of the first game on mobile. But you guys botched it, you really botched it. This is a list of grievances i have with a couple hours into the game. 1.right from the get go, this game is slow paced, like the movement is slow. it is incredibly clunky in its movement and camera control, which has an unfavorably narrow range of movement. 2. the ui is a far cry from what it was in the og, its hard to navigate, hard to manipulate, and out of nowhere, it will pull a fast one on you and change your settings. the settings department is lacking, it would be cool if we could jave a better range of graphics, but we only have the dim default and the understandable low quality settings. the volume changing in the settings is clunky, you can tell from the beginning of your play through that they were lazy with changing the ui to mobile. how, you may ask? because they literally just made everything button input a tap. this would be okay if the ui was just updated a little to be suitable for mobile. it is clunky, icons are too small, changing settings is a process, and finding songs is a clunky process. the least they couldve done is added controller support to the game, but they didnt. 3. the gameplay aspect of the game was what let me down the most. for one, it was clunky, your taps never felt like they were there, the note part of the screen is incredibly small, making it a a hassle to play, being that the line doesnt feel like its in the right spot. they couldve made it bigger, they couldve added controller support, they couldve made the gameplay easier on the eyes. it was clunky and felt like you were playing on a foldable chair, great in concept, turning something big into something portable, but then you use it and youre just uncomfortable. though one thing i really liked was the structure of the rooms, the puzzles, character design, and obviously, the story. only thing im in it for other than the soundtrack. oh and for reference, im playing on an iphone 12, it shouldn’t have the problems it has, this did recently launch, but still, this was lazy, the fact that you didnt add controller support for a game that is made for controller is annoying, now my fat fingers get in the way of this would be beautiful game. its not great from launch and i hope the updates fix these problems. then again im just a jerk soooo
