After 3 levels of the free version, I ended up buying the pro version. Absolutely worth it. It was way better than I expected. I saw the game for a while in the App Store and never thought about downloading it. When I decided to, I can say it was absolutely worth buying. So far, one of my favorite mobile games. Controls are decent enough on a touchscreen along with being customizable which is appreciated, weapons and power ups are fun to use, enemy variety is great, secrets spread out throughout the level poses a fun enough challenge that doesn’t feel like it’s a chore to find. If you miss the secrets, you can always go back later in the level selector and it’ll tell you in the menu if you missed anything. Little details like this are appreciated. Definitely worth a buy if you’re a fan of the old school NES Castlevania. Everything is level based without a time limit, which gives the games pacing feel like you aren’t in any rush.

I had just finished playing Castlevania Symphony of the Night and was looking for games to fill the void. I learned the games i wanted were considered “Metroidvania” games. Of all the games I tried Goblin Sword and Apple Knight have been my favorite. Odd mar and Grimvalor are okay but don’t really translate well to iPhone screens. Apple Knight plays well both on my IPhone and IPad. I love the graphics and gameplay. You could tell this was a passion project that the developers put their heart into.

one of the best platformers on iOS in a long time that’s not a port of an existing console game, great art style & gameplay (nice movement mechanics) but my one gripe is it doesn’t have controller support, this game seems like with would perfectly fight a controller, since you guys already have “console” inspired button layouts you can choose from. next update?

Well crafted well balanced pocket adventure game with obvious attention to hit box detail not to mention art style and phenomenal gameplay definitely one of the best apps on the App Store I play this game with my friends. :))

I love this game. It is beautifully done, challenging, fun, and rally ticks all the classic platformer checkboxes. Looking forward to more titles from this designer. Please consider adding controller support and Apple TV functionality. That would be amazing. Great work!

Worth a try, really like balloons and I don’t know why. Kinda thing that a strong can bake parliament ice cream goodness sake.

... But it is really hard to get gold sometimes.

Controls are easy to use, you can adjust how challenging the game itself is, all the sprites and backgrounds are well made, and it doesn't feel boring. Nice work. Maybe the void in my soul will be filled in the future updates.

Hi, so something I’ve took notice into is when playing through the levels too quickly. I start to forgot certain areas of the map, I’ve already explored. I personally think, it would be beneficial if the development team took that into consideration. I also think. This issue could be solved by, adding a feature to the screen like Super Mario on GB/GBA. Where you could scroll the screen down to view what’s below or above or left or right or another simple solution add a button on screen that will shift the view to ahead of the “Apple Knight”. Yes this would make the game a little easier but at the same time this would be a nice feature for players who are reminiscing the golden days of owning a GB or GBA. I believe this feature should also be optional since I think this is mostly needed for devices that aren’t too wide in their screen’s. I’m using an iPhone 11 and I can hardly view where it is I’m going time to time and forget what’s where. Or you can add a small barely visible map that we can see on screen of what parts we’ve explored. Lastly, I think it would be nice to add levels that give a huge increase in gold gain cause you gain roughly 200 coins each level. Especially since the better weapons are only unlock able by purchasing a certain amount of swords . I love this game and see that it’s original but yes perhaps adding this would make the game less of a grind and hard to see/remember what’s where. I tend to only play this when I want to pass a little bit of time cause of these very reasons.
