solid game with no IAPs (yet)

I’m pretty new to the rhythm game scene but Phigros has to be one of the neatest rhythm games i’ve ever played. It takes the scanline playstyle (similar to cytus) and flips that on its head. The scanline can be horizontal or vertical and the notes can come from any direction. On top of that, there’s no IAPs at all. There’s a grip of songs under the singles category which can all be bought with the in game currency, which is known as bytes. There also seems to be a story involved, but it’s pretty vague. Progressing through chapters is pretty easy, achieve an A rank on a song to move onto the next one. However, in order to unlock the insane difficulties of songs, you need to achieve an S rank (920K) on easier difficulties, or achieve an A rank (880K) on IN difficulty prior to the song you want. There’s also a boss song which requires special steps to unlock. (Look it up on the wiki if you wanna know how to unlock it.) Overall, there’s no reason not to check Phigros out. It’s completely free and there’s a wide variety of songs to play.

    No Reason Not To Download

I play a lot of rhythm games, but this one is straight up amazing. I truly recommend this to any other rhythm game lovers. The design is smooth, it’s not laggy, and the songs are cool so far. Not to mention, you don’t have to buy songs or items to unlock songs unlike some games (*COuGh VOEZ) to truly enjoy it, it’s FREE. The rotating judgment line was weird at first (games like Lanota have a basis of the hit area being a circle and such I’ve never really seen rotating judgement lines) but it’s not that hard once you start practicing and anticipating the notes. One suggestion though, instead of just one sound effect maybe have multiple in the future? I notice that most rhythm games don’t have that feature and it’s nice to have more than one sound effect to use sometimes. Overall though, this game is great.

Great game that never ceases to disappoint

I love the concept of the whole game with the moving judgement line and in game currency. You can replay songs over and over again with different difficulty levels so it never becomes too easy. The art is original and amazing and the whole layout of game is gorgeous. I do have a few suggestions for the next update. 1. In both the profile and selection screen it does not record phi and full combo scores. I have about 4 or 5 phi scores but only says I have one. Sometimes the screen says it’s all 0. 2. Add a contact link and or option in settings - for the first suggestion I immediately went to settings to contact the company but there is no option. The support link in the App Store is disabled and the only way to fix the problem is wait for someone else to complain, write a review here and hope for the company to see it here, or dm on Twitter. There is no guarantee that they will see my suggestions on both platforms but it’s worth a try. I just think it would be less of a hassle if the contact for bugs problem was in game But this doesn’t dissuade me from the game, I love it regardless. These suggestions are small and more just nit picking. Please give this unique game a try.

    Pretty strong start

The moving line gimmick takes a bit of getting used to, but after a while it gets to be pretty fun. As someone who has played numerous rhythm games, I would rank the mechanics of this one up there. Some of the charts are a bit too quirky though to the point that they almost abuse the mechanics, such as moving the holds around without warning (would recommend something which indicates where the holds move to ahead of time kind of like VOEZ does) or making the line jump a bit too suddenly so as to limit note visibility, but generally these aren’t too common. Overall, once you learn the charts, I would say that as of right now it is one of the easier rhythm games out there, so it’s a good one to start with. Will probably recommend to anyone I want to drag down the rhythm gaming path with me.

    Amazing game, highly recommend!

I’ve literally never written a review for a game before, but this one is SO GOOD, I just had to. First off, it is so creative and I love the entire concept. The art is beautiful, the gameplay is challenging, and the music is great. I love how much better the quality of art has gotten too! I play this on my I-Pad so the art used to look very pixilated, but now it looks great! And the hints make me laugh too, so kudos to whoever write them. I recommend getting this game if you like rhythm games, and especially if you like Cytus and/or Cytus II since it has the same hit-line concept. Props to the devs, and thanks for one of my favorite games!

    One of the best

Where do I even start? This game has very fun tracks with different styles. Very good game to start your rhythm game career. The game’s tracks vary in difficulty. If you’re wondering when you’re downloading it or you’re just starting, I do recommend an IPad or tablet because of the big screen. And, don’t get into the habit of using only two thumbs. Trust me. This game even has a set of lore you can read, if you’re into that. My only criticism is the HUMONGOUS game size of 1.1 GB. Bro, that’s huge for a singular game. Other than that, 10/10, will play till I die.

One of the top rhythm games on mobile!

Absolutely fun gameplay and a great song selection. The fact that it’s free is unbelievable! You won’t be bored of this game, with so many difficulty levels and a crazy variety of songs to play, from Hardstyle to Dubstep to Artcore and Anime music, with popular songs and some hidden gems. There is so much to do and having a rating system to track your personal progress is even better! If you like Osu, Cytus, FNF, Quaver, Beat Saber, give it a try! This is unique and exciting and you’ll be hooked! - a Phigros lover!

    An incredibly fun experience!

Okay, I don’t normally write reviews for games, but since this is such an unknown gem, I’m going to write one. Phigros is an amazing mix of gameplay, similar to Dynamix and Cytus. But different at the same time. This bar feature is incredibly fun and unique, and is used greatly in songs. From it glitching out to the soundtrack or it switching up upside down. The songs are also great, giving challenges but also great tunes to listen to. Hopefully in the future, we’ll see more songs and such. Though, these tracks so far are still incredibly fun and enjoyable. My only complaint is like another comment, being the start button. It’s kind of hard to figure it out where it is, especially as a beginner. Other then that, this game is just... amazing! As I’m always looking for new IOS rhythm games, this came up at the best time.

    Nice, simple, yet unique

This game has some great mechanics and I would recommend it to someone as their first rhythm game because it is simple and unique, although I personally think that they should have some more challenging songs to make the game more interesting, I feel that there is a lot of wasted potential especially judging from the fact that the game mechanics can make it completely different and amp up the difficulty

    Just the BEST!

Hi! I just really wanted to say how awesome this game is! It’s so addicting and I just have SO MUCH FUN 😀playing it! It helps you gain a sense of rhythm and you just get so good at the game in so little time- it’s just really awesome so THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this game. 😌😌🥰 By the way, could you maybe add OCCHOCO-REST-LESS by Myukke? I find it really fun and I think it would fit perfectly with this type of game! Thanks! P.S- As a joke (since all of my family knows this game) I call Phigros, “The beats”

Less of Innovative and more of really annoying

I get that the rhythm game industry is hard, it’s tough to stand out in a pool of hundreds of anime rhythm games. But, why is ruining the basic premise of rhythm games,( I.e having a set place to hit notes, a consistent direction notes come from, etc etc) something that is innovative? This game tries reeeeeaaaly hard to stand out, but in the end just screws itself over by being punishing to new players with whatever that judgment bar moving thing is, small notes, unsatisfying mapping, and ultimately, overcomplication of a game that has a LOT of potential to be absolutely amazing. The songs are good, the aesthetic is clean cut, but the mechanics and idea behind it, in my opinion, isn’t there. This game isn’t for me, but maybe it’s for you.

not sure how i feel about the flashing/moving line

Good concept but the line moving around seems like it would be a huge issue when its glitching that fast, on top of the rhythm bars also moving around..hard to get used to, makes the game seem overly complicated like they were trying really hard to be unique and i couldn’t actually tell when i missed or didn’t get perfect until my combo changed. basically its a bit hard to get INTO the game. would be nice to get a little warning before everything starts to glitch. im sure I could get used to all the weird quirks eventually, but i think im just too accustomed to rayark and harmonix games. might try playing it more later though.
