Finally, a game that gets it right.

I’ve tried many different matching type games and normally they all get old quick. This game is different, the levels are just hard enough to be entertaining but not frustrating. I’ve been playing for about 4 months and have never hit a pay wall. The story is pretty interesting but if not super important if that’s not your thing. The puzzles to solve the crime are fun but not too challenging. Earning coins is pretty easy and the public challenges are fun to compete in. I recommend this as a nice time killer and a bit of a brain teaser.

    Great match 3 mystery

Basic match 3, nice graphics and smooth animations. Lots of fun events. Story is wacky but keeps you invested. I Iike how the mystery parts actually give you something to do as you follow the story, even if the clues are really simple to decipher, it adds another layer. My one request would be able to turn off the “hint” prompts that show up at crime scenes, I think it would be more fun to figure it out than just reading what to do. Also, more varieties of crime scene puzzles would be great.

    I am loving this game!

I really love this game! I play it every chance I get though recently I started to have some major issues with the game. The first thing that started to go wrong was that a lot of the time my lives are not restoring then every time I beat a level I get nothing no stars no coins which is extremely frustrating and annoying! I really have enjoyed playing this game and I love to see what is going to happen next in the story but unfortunately without receiving stars and coins I can not proceed through the game which is completely disappointing. I have already contacted support about this problem but the only thing that they said was that I would have to wait until they update the game to see if that would fix the problem but it would take some time before the update was ready. This is more than frustrating for me I am normally a very patient person but I have spent a lot of money in this game (more than I would like to admit) so every day that goes by without this being fixed is making me more and more impatient and frustrated.

Actually a great game, but can be hard later on

I really like this game. The plot is goofy but fun, the gameplay is engaging but usually doable, I love the events, and I like that you can play through the story or levels roughly independently of each other. I find that I can make my way through most levels without issue (I usually stock up on stars then rush through big parts of the story), even when they’re hard I can usually try more, maybe use a couple boosters, and win with a sense of accomplishment; and I’m not particularly good at games, so it seems pretty accessible. Unfortunately I find myself completely stuck on 184. I’ll probably be able to get through it once a new event comes up and I can get more boosters, but still, it’s sort of the dreaded moment in any given game where it gets too hard to actually continue on. I have a lot of abandoned games because I just wasn’t good enough at them. Maybe add more ad functions to get money or boosters? Maybe even a ‘skip level’ thing for a bunch of coins?

    So far, so good. 👍🏼😊

I’m adding an additional star from 3 to 4, I’m enjoying this game more that I thought I would! If I had any complaints, I think 900 coins is a bit much to continue the game only to receive just a couple more moves. Other than that, so far so good. 👍🏼😊👍🏼😂👍🏼 Dearest Devs, I’ve already written an email to your support team but I thought I would post my issue here as well. I’ve been playing your game for the past 2 days without earning any stars. I’m right in the middle of playing 90 free minutes that I’ve earned and I’m merely playing for the fun of it... no stars earned. 😢 I’m loving the storyline, I’d like to know how it all ends. Please fix this issue when you can. Thanks, Shine W 😊 PS.. I’m playing on an iPhone 11 plus and my game ID is: a620yi update: I just received another 90 minutes of free game play and I had to close out of it because I’m not earning any stars to continue the story.. and it was getting juicy too! LoL I have to wait until this issue is fixed, seems pointless to play until then.

    Don’t worry about the story

This is a pretty good match 3 game. It has some creative mechanics and only two get more stuff ads. Does it have a limit on how many lives you get per session? Yes. Can you buy more lives using in game currency that can be purchased with real world money? Yes and yes, it is a free-to-play game and the developers need to make money. My issue is with the story. Every time you beat a level you get a star. Collect stars to progress in the story. Except I find the story an inane hand holding chore to progress through. The characters are awful, the plot discoveries are spoon fed at a predictable rate, and the story arcs are unsatisfactory. The main character you deal with Cyril from Archer, a grandiose chicken, a whinny kid, a grumpy guy, an arrogant guy, and the sheriff. All of whom are amazed at your ingenuity and dealing with the spoon fed discoveries. Simply awful.

    Gripping, but...

It’s a great game, and storyline is intriguing. The main 2 issues I have with the game is 1. The amount of stars required so early - perhaps award double stars for hard levels, or award stars based on scores? 2. Item drops - cups seem to randomly vend and wait until 7-5 moves before the end of a level to give the next. This was consistent on my current level (211). And then the addition of keys and dossiers as random drops with tiles makes the cup vend seem out of place. Despite those two buggy issues, the game is going really well! I love when games allow you to earn money in game instead of forcing a purchase. Plus the ability to fully restore lives with earned coins is amazing (but from a business point, 5 lives restored probably shouldn’t equate to 5+ moves - both 900 coins)

    Awesome and amazing game but..

This game is awesome!🤩 But I didn’t know the game had one of the swiping games like the candy crush ones, and I’m not a fan of those games😬 Also about it is when your winning for the stars, you only can get like 12 seconds of seeing the information. Also I think that this game is way to far ahead like in the puppet one you can’t find them that easily they should add like, how to track them and stuff. But on the other side, I feel like this game is AWSOME there are no adds, and you can find finger prints with the powder find the victim and see who it is, This is just my opinion and sorry if it annoys you..😌

    Just an opinion

Before I start complaining, I just want to say that this is a very well made puzzle match game. It has a very good story line and I love the idea of completing levels to move the story line along. Riddleside does a very good job of doing this, even though they aren’t the first app to use this idea. The story itself is very suspenseful and full of plot twists that I never could have guessed. My one complaint is this: it takes too many stars to complete some tasks in this game. I am currently on episode six, level 127 and the task I am moving towards takes 7 stars to complete. 7 stars!! That’s crazy! The two or three tasks before this one took 6 stars as well, which just adds to my complaint. Even so, this is a great game and I highly recommend for people of any age.

    Great game BUT...

Fun, challenging but obviously geared to eventually make it almost impossible to keep playing without purchasing help. I’ve been attempting level 92 for days, including with a time reward of free play that I was able to play for approximately an hour. It’s unfortunate. I get you’re trying to make money but there are always individuals who will buy stuff. The game should still be made to be able to play and move forward without having to purchase anything. I haven’t deleted the app yet however, I’m giving it another day of attempts on this level then if I still can’t beat the level will delete. During these trying times not too many people need to be spending money on this kind of thing.

Just another pay to win gem matching “game”

I’ll admit that this game was fun for a few hours, at which point took a dive and revealed its true colors. First, it suddenly took five wins to advance the “story” even a little bit, with severe difficulty spikes; the five more turns extension, which one is heavily steered towards, costs in game currency that accumulates slowly and must otherwise be purchased with real money. The characters were in the game offer disappointing looks otherwise (seriously? Thats just cheap!). Second, the story puzzles (find a clue, put together this or that doo-dad) looked promising but it soon became clear that they would never pose a challenge beyond sometimes featuring small interaction regions, requiring one to poke at the puzzle randomly. Third, the story and writing are dumb, not fun campy dumb, just either written by dumb people, for dumb people, or both. Finally, there is little to nothing gameplay-wise to distinguish this is game from myriad similar ones; even the power ups are basically the same as in various blank scape games. Meh all around.

Was fun, but not since newest update

Downloaded this app about 3 months ago and played pretty consistentlyn some levels are more difficult than others but nothing overly frustrating. Since the update to version 1.5.0, it’s now 6 stars to do complete certain tasks to move forward in the game? And if an task is in 2 parts, that’s 12 stars I gotta use. If the game is going to have different levels of difficulty for game play, make the more challenging levels have more stars to earn when completed. Earning one star per level, yet using 6 stars to complete one task makes ZERO sense. At least let players earn 2 or 3 stars for the hard and very hard levels. At this point it looks like I’ll be stepping back from game play, if not outright deleting.

    Frustratingly Difficult Levels

The “Hard” and “Very Hard” levels are just way too difficult. There’s not enough going for it for me to persist at trying to beat these levels. I’ve been stuck at level 131 for over 3 1/2 weeks & I will be deleting the game. Why would I want to continue playing at a game that creates angst, frustration & madness? Also, as other players have written, the completion of the harder levels should definitely award more stars than the easier ones. There are many points made by other reviewers that are right on the money - speaking of which, perhaps that’s one reason levels are made impossible to win -one must spend money to pass levels! Just a thought - one that turns me off, though!

Competitions disable opportunities to earn stars and coins

To progress through the storyline like most matching games you need to earn stars in order to unlock the next chapters. It’s literally been maybe two weeks or more of on going competitions where players involuntarily participate in these events where we have to play levels and complete objectives for chances to win bonuses. However when the challenge events are enabled, players aren’t allowed to earn coins or stars in order to unlock the storyline chapters. Most matching games I’ve played at least allow you to do this while participating in the challenge. These challenges have been going on nonstop for two weeks or more and I am not getting any further along in the story which is unfair and just another way their pushing you to play more and more levels and use money to get coins used to purchases lives and bonuses rather than allowing to to earn them after completing each level. Such a RIP OFF!
