Great game that keeps me coming back

I've been playing this game for months now and it keeps me coming back. The game play is very straightforward and simple to learn, the graphics are stunning (but adjustable depending on your device and bandwidth), advancing within the game is challenging but hasn't ever felt insurmountable, the in-game rewards for regular play are generous, the ads (if you choose to watch them to expedite play without having to spend your own money) are short and sweet, and the developers are constantly working to improve the game, all while being receptive and responsive to issues raised (as a regular user, I have corresponded with them on a few occasions about issues and/or opportunities for improvement). I give PGA TOUR Golf Shootout an unqualified Five Star rating.

Best golf game on the phone.

I am a huge fan of pga golf series games. From tiger woods pga tour (Notice I didn’t mention Rory) to even golf with friends. For on the go golfing this tops anything I’ve played. From upgrading clubs to using the club spaces to add on extra spin and power to the clubs you really need to use it for, makes this golf game a unique and fun experience. Work is needed for sure but I’m sure the developers are working on this as we speak. You can join a club and earn rewards. Hopefully new game modes for player vs player will be out soon or even party play would be amazing. But for the time being this game is a lot more fun then I expected!

      Recent update

This is a good game BUT, here are some things that both the Facebook and Reddit community have been asking for: 1. An actual, viewable Leaderboard displaying the top players (top ranked along with their FedEx Cup points). 2. Either a nerf or removal of skyfury club. This club is so great that I only use two club sets, Skyfury for ALL par 4s and 5s and Lodestar for all par 3s. This makes the game ridiculously repetitive and takes away any strategy involved. Adding new courses/holes or adjusting the OB boundaries may help fix the Skyfury issue. 3. The tournaments added were a nice feature but they happen very infrequently. It would be nice if they were either held every weekend or added as a new game mode. Honestly, competing in the tournaments and the way you guys made them with the scoring AND time taken was a GREAT idea and it’s the only time playing the game that I actually feel like I’m having fun and not just going through motions. 4. I’m not sure what your contract between PGA Tour and Concrete says but even if you guys could generate a few custom holes or even do a competition for hole design among the Facebook group members; that would really revitalize the game. Finally, I know most of us are teleworking and making a lot of changes and coordinating with a lot of other people to get things done is a difficult thing to do. Please stay safe and continue the great work.

      Very Fun but...

This game is fun to kill some time and the single player was especially enjoyable, albeit short. 1:1 is definitely addicting when the players are evenly matched. There are definitely some kinks that may or may not be easily explainable: 1. 1:1 opponents seem to be either world class or abysmal. I’m not sure why there are so few players hitting birdie, par, or bogey. 2. I get the draw of fun and unique physics modifiers but there are really only a handful of clubs that actually benefit the player. All others are useless. Plus no way to get past level 6, I assume without paying. Which might make business sense - so no fault there. 3. How can there be such huge differences in driving distances? I can drive full swing Rampart with 13 power vs an opponent with the exact same club and power rating and they’ll go 575 yds to the green and I’ll 391 even nailing the center. How?? 4. I understand you’re basically playing recorded versions of actual players and some of them might be consistently stellar while others just have hugely lucky shots, but what is the logic of pitting players against consistent eagle and albatross recordings? Seems to happen in the middle of level ups, especially in the 30s. I like some impossibly hard competition, but more sprinkled. All in all, very fun, but not without some puzzling aspects

      So far so good

Enjoying this much more than GC. Game play is comparable to that but I like that you can keep playing or participating in daily/solo challenges without getting screwed by a money grab to improve competitiveness or risk loosing 50k credits in 2 minutes to someone that probably spent $300 on maxing their clubs and balls. Only been on a few hours but noticed what appears to be a bug with the Seasons. Season indicates on screen that it ends in 12 days, but I have already gotten reset twice after earning the rank 5 award and card pack. Seems like this is intended to carry on for a full 12 days before the reset and reward. Please fix. Would love to see open participation events such as a full 72 hole tournament (without the crazy cash buy ins of course) or the ability to solo play a full course. Thanks and keep up the good work!

      Bright Future

So far the game is fun, i think it is much better then Golf Clash. The only thing i don’t like is that i do not feel like i am playing another person shot for shot, there are also players who have discovered a glitch on the longer holes where they get to the green off the tee but my almost maxed out driver only gets halfway. In addition, they need to make the courses feel complete beyond just the fairway you are playing on. Also, if it is a tie, there should be a closest to the pin shootout. So far everything else seems smooth, the potential club distances definitely need some improvement, as does things like backspin. Overall this game was just released and I look forward to their improvements and customization updates.

      Starts Out Good

If you are someone who is looking for a golf game to play for 10 minutes a week then this is a good choice. However, the logic of the design is deeply flawed. The object is to level up so you can obtain new clubs, courses and so on. In the beginning it is fine. You level up by getting coins that are obtained through opening card packs which are won in solo challenges, Dailey challenges and heads up play. In order to level up your golfer, you must level up your clubs. The developer says each level should take 3x’s as long as the previous to advance. Here is where the problem starts. There are only so many clubs available to level up. You receive about 70 points for leveling up a club when it cost 1000 coins. The next level is 4,000 then 10,000 and then 25,000. Logic would follow you should receive 1750 in points for spending 25,000 coins. Nope you get 200 points. So it took no more than a week to move a level in levels 1-5. However, I have been on level 6 since March. I have never missed a daily challenge, always finish 1-3 in my clubhouse (rankings from heads up play), and have completed ever solo task except two which I do not have the correct club to do because I can’t reach level 7. I am only about half way through level 6. I feel like I have invested a bunch of time and can’t move any further. Hopefully they update the app and improve on this silliness. If they do I will change the review.

      Don’t Do It

This game is a lot of fun to play. I golf I play video games so it’s a good fit. Having said that save yourself the time and money and do not download it! My first account was accidentally deleted by concrete during their issue in July that deleted several players accounts. I sent them screen shots and a walk through of what I was doing so they could see what I was running jn to and what I got back was zero help from concrete help desk, their answer was to continue to try and make sure my Facebook was connected. I had invested over $20 into it at that point. But I still liked to play the game so I started another account and then spent the gold to start my own clubhouse, after 6 weeks our club finally leveled up to level 2. With that level up our clubhouse was supposed to go from 20 to 30 members, this has yet to happen. I contacted support to find out why we can’t add any additional members and their response was “we know this is an issue and we are set to correct it in the 1.7.0 update, they are currently in version 1.6.4 so it will be atleast a couple of weeks”. It is very clear that concrete as a company doesn’t care about you as a player they only care about your money and collecting it while not delivering on some very basic features THAT PEOPLE PAY ACTUAL MONEY FOR THAT THEY KNOW DO NOT WORK! Do with this info what you will but if I had to do it all over again I would have rather downloaded ANYTHING other than this game or any game by Concrete.

Promising, but no where near ready.

The game has a ton of promise and could give Golf Clash a run for their money. I love how you can pick which clubs you want in the bag and when you want to use them, unlike GC. The daily and solo challenges are a neat idea. However, there are several inconsistencies that need to be addressed. First, the ads. Lose them. If you want this to be a top tier game the ads serve no purpose and will cause several to uninstall. Graphics both in menu and in game could use A LOT of help. The roll of ball on the green is misleading. I do like how you can curve the ball, but the ball guide should a little more helpful where the ball is going to bounce depending on club. The aim guide is probably your worst design. Make the area a little larger rather than a small green dot you can barely see. Until you have these areas figured out, I would hide the clubhouse and meaningless other areas. Like I said, it is promising but needs a lot of work.

      Great game which handicaps itself

This is my favourite golf game on mobile and I've tried most of them - WGT Golf and Ultimate Golf's progression make less sense, and the golf on this game is quite a lot of fun. Reminds me of Mario Golf on the N64, but updated for mobile. However, it's absolutely a pay to play/level up game. Going from level 1 to level 2 is easy but as soon as you hit level 4 or 5, it turns into a complete grind and only with 47 holes to play on at that point. Adding additional holes from TPC Boston or other courses as play continues would be amazing and continue to motivate you to level up. I'd happily pay several dollars for this game if it let you play 9 or 18 in a solo sitting without needing an internet connection, and would pay for additional content in the form of courses, but as it is outside the actual golf gameplay it's a grindy mess. Fortunately for this game, /all/ the golf games on mobile are grindy messes...

      Fun, but short lived

Generally this is a fun and addictive golf game. It’s easy to level up clubs and you don’t have to spend the extra money to buy game cash if you don’t want to. The graphics are good but the overall design of the game is limited. It gets repetitive because there are only a few courses. I have only been playing for about 6 months and I’m getting bored with the game. Please Please Please add more courses. In one hour of play, I can see the same hole twice and some holes I have hit 3 times depending on duels or tournaments. I have maxed out one club and soon to max out others so the game doesn’t seem like it is designed to keep playing unless you’re a mindless robot. Please add more courses and clubs to make it interesting, or it’s on to another game for this golfer.

      Constantly less shot than struck

I like this but it’s not PGA at all. I believe it must be programmed by non golfing Golf Glash software guys because you all just make the same nonsense changes at the same time and today is among the worst. The unpredictable results may be your golf score result but in a year of play you’ll see how unfair and unreasonable your design is. Each club has a predictable good hit to bad hit of only 10 yards. The game make sand and rough like mud taking far too high a percentage off the shot. A good shot out of rough or sand can be near normal. Also in sand an iron or wood is used with reasonable results. One big problem is the visibility of where the hall is going relative to the hole can’t be easily seen. On a course the line and distance is reasonably know and the flight distance is close to expected with some direction imperfection. In the game plan on hitting the green, I hit a great shot and expect to be on the green then land 15 yds shot in rough or sand that wasn’t seen in flight path planning. In fact the tree was intentionally avoided but I landed next to it. Yuk. Thanks

      Decent, except for the scam

The game itself isn’t bad. It’s a light, arcade-y gold game. Unfortunately you hit a wall very quickly where your ability to progress is severely hampered unless you pay gold (mainly gained thru microtransaction purchases) to clear out your packs. If you refuse to pay (like me), then you end up having to quit for hours at a time until the packs can be opened and cleared out of the slots. Fun. The worst part of the game is the “free gold” scam on the store page. Do not waste your time — even the offers purportedly offering gold for “just viewing” or “just signing up” will dump you into a barrage of survey questions that will only finalize if you eventually make a purchase or open up another survey page in an endless loop. No idea why Apple allows this sort of thing to be included in the game — it’s disgusting and makes me not want to play.

      Greedy developers

I’ve been playing this game for Over a year and it’s disappointing at how greedy the developers have gotten. The handful of clubs worth having are rarely upgraded and when they are....it’s very low points given for very many points required for upgrading. The whole point behind that is they want you to spend $$ to get upgrades.....which I get...but loyal players should have the opportunities to reach goals through daily playing as well. Then there’s the mind numbing videos you have to endure to get rewards or card upgrades! Used to be 5-10 second videos but now it’s minimum 30 seconds per video! The last two things are that the developers have not done their jobs and given players new courses to play like...forever....and it seems that every golf course is not continually in hurricane force winds! Try to play the winds and it won’t do you any good because the effect of the winds on the ball is not consistent! It’s too bad the developers have gone this route because PGA used to be the best golf game out there....definitely not anymore. I will help my clubhouse get their diamond pack this week and then I’m deleting the app from my phone. Buh-bye!
