      Galaga/Galaxian on Roids

No problems with any ads; nice music, very responsive touch screen gameplay, will bring you back to the 80’s thinking “I would have blown tons of quarters on this game had it been around. Not littered with ads which tells me the developers aren’t hurting for funding or they’re just making a quality app that will sell itself. It is nice to be able to watch an ad if you need more virtual currency. The graphics are top of the line when it comes to space shooters and the sounds , you can tell, along with the music we’re composed and produced by people that know what they’re doing. I’ll be installing this on a 11.5” tablet. For now it’s on my iPhone se. If you loved the flying vertical scrolling shooters of the 80’s; you’re going to really enjoy this. It’s not just pop a quarter in and play...you get to choose various ships and mod them with upgrades ranging from armament to shield types. Did I say the Music was awesome? Very relaxing in the genre of ambient space IDM.

      Fun game

This is a fun game. The controls work like they should. The levels and difficulty changes for levels are a good mix of hard but still obtainable. Ship upgrades are not outrageous costs. If you are lucky enough to find a level that pays a high amount of coins and replay it with double coin and magnet boosters, you can grind out some serious coins for upgrades. Problems I have found so far. - level will just continue with no more enemies arriving. This happened to me on an endless level and no retire button in the pause menu. Just had to return to home and lose all the coins and kills earned on that level. (I had 632 kills, don’t know how many coins) - sounds are missing from some things. The blue tracker and tiny violet ships have no bullet sounds. It is mute unless a ship is exploding. The spin wheel has no sound. Just spins around. - the power core and shield indicators on the game screen are unnecessary. The same info is displayed if you lift your finger, which is also the only way to activate them, so they are just annoying on the game screen. - the ship does not reach the side of the screen to get power ups and coins. Bullets reach there to destroy ships but without the full magnet these things can’t be obtained. Thanks for making a great game and I hope you can make some of these changes. I will update if I find more bugs.

      I love

When I saw the first one it was amazing and then I got this one it was like so good but when I started playing this one I kind of miss the other one because how good the other one was I don’t like How you could still get three damage and you’re not done yet so I just like the fun of having the challenge but this is not a challenge Anymore and I don’t like how some of the battleships just can go away because I like the challenge of defeating all of them not just one or two like I can just hide from all them and they could all disappear and I would still get the points some points when I saw this I loved how big the bosses were and I just thought this is like a step up now it’s gonna be harder but when I saw it and started playing it it wasn’t really that big of a step up and it’s kind a like the same but harder to get things thank you for reading

Of Galaga on roids is what you are looking for this is it!

This game as far as space shooters go is top notch. Gives you a nice break from the RL game we all hate and put on pause from time to time. I love the slow mo feature ( we all used the mash pause hack on the NES ;)) The instant upgrade gratification is amazing and I really appreciate the simple controls. It’s nice not staring at my chubby fat fingers and actually enjoy the game play on my phone. The difficulty seems decent and gets harder as you continue. The graphics are awesome. Just the right amount of nostalgia and current state graphics. All in all if you miss games like galaga play this game. Well done devs .

So fun, but needs more clarity.

The gameplay is really fun. The biggest problem I have with this game is being overwhelmed with a seemingly endless number of icons and options with pretty much zero clarity about what those options are. I upgrade my ship without really understanding what I’m doing. And there isn’t a clear distinction between the ship types as far as the icons go (designs closely match), so it’s not always clear when I’m accepting an icon during gameplay if that’s going to be helpful...or if it’s going to reaaaally mess me up. And the further you get into the game, the more likely it seems to be that ship offerings during the game will cause you to pretty much lose. Also, I like the magnet feature, but the coins very closely resemble torpedoes so I find myself maneuvering away from the coins, at time into the line of actual fire. So making items distinct is a problem with this game. And generally having too many options and icons with no explanation before you enter the game is a problem. Still, I enjoyed this game very much even though a lot of times WHAT I was getting into was a roll of the dice. So 4 stars from me. If they add clarity to the issues I addressed above, it would easily be 5 stars and I’d be much more obsessed with the game than I am/was. I know the issues can be fixed because there are similar games out there that do a better job as far as that goes.

      Nice Shooter

For the record, the devs of this app (ABI Game Studio) have made several space shooters already, slightly improving their content with each new one. This is the first one that I’ve enjoyed for more than a few levels. I’d say it needs some bug fixes and more content (ships and, more importantly, levels), then it’ll earn its 5th star from me. A lot of people have a problem with the grinding and ads, but I’m okay with it; I’m patient enough to grind, and I spent a buck on a starter pack, which disabled all forced ads. My main complaint is that while most of the enemies have fairly manageable shooting patterns, some on higher difficulties (that one big red ship on level 3 hard mode that shoots a ton of shots all over the place, for example) are REALLY difficult to evade without a shield and, worse, they ALWAYS cause lag. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to deal with these guys easily other than limited-use abilities that you must equip at the start of a level, which just feels unfair. This is not a bullet hell or at least it’s not built like one, so I don’t get why they’re even in the game. I’d really like if the more spammy enemies like this were weakened so their shots were actually possible to dodge. Thanks for reading.

      Great game till L50 paywall

This is an excellent vertical scrolling shooter that’s provided about 2-3 weeks of casual fun. It has lots of bonuses, rewards, and multiple ships with upgrade paths; all hitting that dopamine at regular intervals. Graphics are sharp, buttery smooth on an iPad Pro 2018. The game has clearly been influenced by the many vertical shooters before it, like 1942. Unfortunately, the game hits a paywall at L50. Upgrades slow to a trickle and you’re forced to buy with gems (which means hundreds of ads). Dishearteningly, these hard-fought upgrades make little difference. As another commenter stated, by L60 you have to have VIP status (a paid $ subscription) to destroy enemies. It’s not about skill at this point, your ship simply can’t destroy enemies before they disappear. It’s a disappointing business model. I would’ve happily paid $10 to play it all the way through. Instead, for those few people that persist, you’ll likely need hundreds of dollars to complete the game.

      🤔To think about it…

This review is about the very first time I played this game and the time I re-download it. The first time I played this game it had a ton of features I thought it fixed all the issues the other shoot’em ups had. Super Boosts are less difficult to achieve and all ships are affordable by gold where as in other games you can’t have their best ships without spending real money. However, I still deleted the app because although they reward me with more super boosts than other games it felt useless once the game tells me my ship isn’t strong enough and gold seems most likely to run out when I’m get really far in and the puzzle pieces which I don’t have room to explain. I didn’t really like the game play that much as I thought I had already played something better.

Kinda fun but PVP is slightly unfair

I’ve played plenty of pvp matches and so far the scoring system honestly seems hit or miss. It’s like after the first wave of enemies either player could end up with even the smallest advantage in points and they will retain that lead unless they die no matter how much faster you can kill the following waves of enemies. There’s really no indication as to why the player continues to receive more points and even seems to get much farther ahead of the other player somehow in some cases. Like in one game all of a sudden the person I was up against jumped up in points and was miles ahead of me as if they had just taken down a boss but I was still fighting basic enemies. We were neck and neck right before that happened. PvP seems to be to best way to farm coins too but sadly it’s kind of broken in some cases.

This game is fun but .......

Fun game but don’t ever play head to head with anyone because it is rigged for you to fail. You will start of on the winning streak to hook you in, but the manufacturers will never let you get too far. You don’t play with real people, only the program. It is designed for you to FAIL. It says to shoot and kill your enemies the fastest to get higher points. However, it is quite difficult to gain any points when there is nothing coming down to shoot at. In the meantime, your COMPUTER opponent keeps racking up the points leaving you in the dust. The more you try, the more you will fail, the more you will want to throw your device. Good luck on making it to level six, chances are that you will never make it. Then there’s the daily challenges. They don’t reflect on what you already have. In order to win a challenge you will need to upgrade something, but if you are already full on everything, all you can do is look at what you could have gotten. Maybe upgrading should not be a challenge. These are just two of the reasons why I only give this game two stars.

      It”s fun until ..

Ya, it’s fun when your new, but once you get up there your pretty much screwed unless you fork over $150 or more in real cash to play comfortably. Then if you even want to attempt the special events you have to have the SS upgrade of the 2 best ships ( or spend another $100 or so) which requires you to collect parts for the upgrade, but the parts for the good ships hardly ever drop. The parts that do drop you don”t need and believe me they drop ALOT. And they want $25 for the upgrade per ship .. and believe me the good parts you need for the good stuff will hardly drop. This company is all about greed. If you want the upgrade parts for the good ships you have to play special events , which you can’t, unless you have the SS upgrade because they make it so hard for anything under SS version to play in the events and it will take months to grind to SS. I played everyday for over 6 months and still not 1 main ship thats worth it upgraded to SS. Believe me when I say you will DIE ALOT and probably wont complete it. WELCOME to the PAYWALL. They make it easy and fun and make it last a while .. then boom .. its pay or get lost. I thought i found decent shooter game but once again its all about greed. You either pay to play or just move on. Companies like this ruin games. UNINSTALLED

      Bad video

I started playing this game and it’s a good game don’t get me wrong. I spent almost $1000 buying the ships and upgrading all the small ships and the main ships. To get extra points you need to watch videos through the game which is a good thing I was watching the videos no problem getting my extra points all of a sudden the videos stopped playing they have my money and I have no videos, maybe just maybe I go to videos per day. I’m losing millions of points each Day. I sent an email to the company never got an answer they never fix the problem you want to waste your money go right ahead you’re going to wind up with the same thing I have no video no extra points I took $1000 and threw it out the window. Now maybe they’ll fix the problem. the videos stopped playing totally. I cannot get any video feed out of this game you need to fix this problem ASAP you got my money and everybody else’s a lot of people are complaining about no video you need to fix this problem or it will blow up in your face.

      Read this review

If you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars the game might be fun, otherwise good luck trying to earn enough coins to upgrade anything. Once you complete the three goals on each stage, the stages become useless to earn any coins, so you are left with “endless mode” to earn them on. With decent skill you can fight hard and earn some decent coin IF the game lets you. Half the time you start up endless mode it immediately starts you off against enemies far beyond your ship that you can’t even damage so you are forced to suicide and waste a life and pray the next one doesn’t do the same, absolutely HORRIBLE design forcing players to spend money. Now get this, you have to AVOID half the upgrades that enemies drop...yes you read that right, you have to not only avoid enemy fire, but half the upgrades as well. Why? Because you enemies drop upgrades that literally switch your ship to the other ships you no longer use, crippling your damage, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Pretty fun but also a bit boring

This game goes nowhere. It’s just the same thing over and over and over. The worst part is during gameplay some baddies release power ups and some of those power ups are different ships. These become death sentences because each ship is better than the one before it, so naturally you will only play with you best ship, and then when you accidentally get one of these “power ups” that is one of your old ships, it’s not nearly as powerful and then you can’t kill baddies and your toast. Instead of having different guns that you can change between, it’s the whole ship. This is the biggest flaw in this game and makes it so I don’t want to play. The power ups linger on the screen for so long and when you don’t want to downgrade ships, you have to do everything you can to avoid the power up, which usually gets me killed. Not thought through at all, terrible idea.
