Great game with lots of potential
Played for a few days and i am enjoying it more and more. It’s quite a unique concept that differs from other games out there, and the game play is quite interesting and balanced. Recent update with challenges is great! Makes the game more interesting. I hope they will continue to put more challenges into the game. There is ads in the game now, but doesn’t bother me as much as what others are saying. They are quite easy to close and don’t come that often. The reward videos actually helps me more since now we have the option to get a second chance, hence higher score. Thanks developers for such an interesting game.
Addicting Game
I wasn’t a fan playing this game at first. Until I realized that I can upgrade the balls and speed. Now I am absolutely addicted. Since the last update the game has been crashing and my personal best is glitching. One time it says it’s my personal best... but I have had higher scores. So not sure what’s going on there. Still a fun game and can’t wait for more themes and ball colors.
Good but...
For a free game, I accept the ads. It has more than some I have played but less than others. I play the game to relax or to pass the time, and it does that well. It would be nice if the blocks didn’t level up as fast as the balls, but the higher scores do somewhat equalize everything. I has two issues I would love to see changed in the next update. First, get rid of the rolling adds on the bottom of the screen. Every now and then I hit it as I am directing the gun and get sent to the App Store. This has forced me to direct the gun from the top of the screen, which has its own complications. Second, about every 5th round it glitches and sends me to the App Store in the middle of game play. There is no escape short of exiting the game, closing it, and then restarting. Generally I just shift to another mind numbing game. As I close all apps when I charge, it is ready for me the next time I want to play it.
Good game.
UPDATE: they fixed a few of the problems I was having. Levels are easier to progress to now that my upgrades are working. The French problem is fixed. I’m moving up to 3 star review now. I would go to 4, but now the mute button doesn’t work. I only play this game while I listen to my audiobooks. Without mute, I can’t play. I hope it’s fixed soon! And maybe this time they will make it so I don’t have to hit mute every time I open the app. 🤞 UPDATE: I just updated to the latest version and now my game is in French! Ugh! I love the concept, but the game need a lot of work! There should be more boosts to allow longer game play. There should be options to watch videos for extra “continues,” and a lot less ads during regular game play. Make it optional for boosts so players don’t get frustrated and quit like I do 20 times per day. Also, the themes are virtually impossible because you can’t get that high of a score with how the game is currently set up. And the levels should start much easier and work their way up to such hard levels to help player confidence. I believe that once these things happen then this will be a super popular game! I will give it 5 stars once there are some updates.
Bugs and ads
The game is nice to bust out when you're bored but there are lots of bugs such as the toggle for sounds not doing anything (you still hear sounds with it disabled), the placement of the ads at the bottom of the screen being visible during gameplay, resulting in accidental taps while a game is in progress (the banner should either be removed or moved to the top of the screen), and then the general amount of ads that appear during the gameplay as well as in between each attempt. The price for removing ads is ridiculous. All Voodoo games want way too much to remove ads per game.
It’s okay.
I play this game when I’m bored and want to kill time. My main issue is that sometimes while you’re playing, there’s a glitch that stops you mid game and takes you to the App Store. If you close out of the AppStore and go back to the game, it shoots you back to the AppStore AGAIN. This happens about three times before it stops. Another thing I would like, is for longer gameplay. No matter how many time you upgrade, you will always get just as far and play just as long because the blocks upgrade at the same pace you do. Other than that, it’s fun to kill time with.
Enjoyable but only for a time
This is a fun game to play when you have a few free minutes. It doesn’t require a lot of thought or preparation. Just jump right in. The flaw I see is as you upgrade so do your obstacles. You’re never really improving, you’re just changing the speed of the game and making it harder. Personally I would enjoy this a lot more if it was more like a Tetris concept and focused more on longevity, how long can you make it. Since the difficulty upgrades as you upgrade you quickly feel like you’re never getting anywhere. And so...it gets old.
Upgrades don’t lead to Progress
This is a cool game concept. Block breaker games are fun and this is essentially an unending block breaker - sort of. The issue is that upgrading your abilities causes an exact increase in difficulty. What I mean is this: Let’s say your balls do 1 damage to each block. The first blocks have 2 health. When you upgrade your damage to 2, the first blocks have four health. If you upgrade your damage again to 6, the first blocks have 6 health. Similarly, if you upgrade the number of starting balls from 5 to 6, all the blocks get a health upgrade. If you upgrade your speed, the same thing happens - the blocks increase in health. I would like for my games to last longer with upgrades. Instead, they last the same amount of time, roughly, because stronger balls come with stronger blocks. Your ‘score’ increases (because you are doing more damage), but I play this game for entertainment, not score.
Increasingly squeezing the player
I’ve enjoyed this game since it first was released. I paid to remove the ads. I appreciate that they’ve updated the game adding new challenges, block types, etc. But this most recent update clearly demonstrates that they are just squeezing the player for more money. They added larger blocks that are harder to break, but gave a (slightly) higher reward. As the large block would come on the screen, there was always a power up on the board behind it. Part of the strategy was to get the power up to break the mega block. With this most recent update the power ups are now locked inside blocks they need to be broken as well. This puts the player at a significant disadvantage, making it now really impossible to beat any previous high scores, without paying to power up the balls. Even then, they increase the strength of the blocks commensurately and it is very difficult to top one’s previous high score. And in a game where there is nothing other than score chase, it is incredibly frustrating to have updates that penalize the player and make success increasingly difficult. Have uninstalled and will not be supporting any further apps from this developer based on their behavior.
Game could have potential...
The game is fun, don’t get me wrong. But there are a lot of things I dislike that causes the game to lose its potential as a “fun game.” First negative part of the game is that every time you try to upgrade something to increase your chances of doing better in the game, the game decides to add more numbers to the blocks which makes the upgrading useless and putting you in the same boat as if you were to start this game all over again. Second negative side to this game, (im sure a lot of people agree on this), is the ads. The ads is what make this game lose its value. I don’t mind the ads. But please don’t put the ads up during gameplay. Some ads causes the gameplay to LAG, making it frustrating to play and having to go through that each and every gameplay. Ads after or before the game I don’t mind. But please get rid of ads during gameplay! This game is a lot of fun, keeps me occupied, and could improve later down in the future. That’s all.
The blocks upgrade more than you
Whenever you upgrade something, the blocks also get tougher. This can be a cool idea, except for the fact that you don't gain a slight advantage, you gain a slight disadvantage. Using the first two rows of blocks as a reference, it seems you can only become stronger if you solely upgrade damage. Initially it takes 2 hits for the first row, 4 hits for the second. Through many damage upgrades, it will end up being 1 and 2 respectively. I am unsure if a similar pattern continues with the rest of the blocks, but it doesn't seem to get any easier even with 40 or so damage upgrades. I assume with more and more upgrades it might reach the point to where even the second row can be destroyed in 1 hit, but I no longer wish to pursue this experiment.
Should be called commercial and balls
After every round you’re required to watch at least 5 seconds of a commercial. The best round I’ve had so far I’ve only gotten 20+/-5 stars, the upgrades cost 50+ stars and closer to 100+ for other upgrades. The blocks scale with the upgrades so it’s not like you’re actually progressing or actually getting further along, that way your longest run remains around 1.5minutes so you can watch another commercial. The only way to progress is to watch an endless stream of commercials worth only 20 stars which means you have to watch 2.5 minutes of commercials to get an upgrade. Overall this game could be fun if you didn’t have to spend so much time watching commercials or paying to win, otherwise it’s complete trash and there are other games similar that are much better and don’t require so much time investment in commercials in order to progress and level up
Improvement team
We may not know what the improvement team is up to, but according to experience they are doing a really really bad job Played the game for months now And seen updates after updates With the appearance of larger blocks for more star ( good idea but why put the power block behind or after they come ) And then putting power blocks into cubes ( who ever gave that idea - causes too much frustration , plus that unlimited shooting powerup becomes useless in long terms having 50+ balls to begin with ) And today’s update I don’t know if many noticed this But the game seems to have increased in speed But with no balance like increasing the ball speed Making the gave terribly harder Now I may not work for your team but with this line of improvements Surely, I’m not the only one frustrated . Please get the balance back into the game . Feedback: Put the power up first Remove that ridiculous cube holding the power up And fix the speed of the game so it balances You increased the speed of the game Not increase the speed of the ball If that can’t be done better off reverting and go back to initial speed of the game ... Thank you
Nice
Update: below was my original review and gave it 4 stars then. Now and after the last update I am giving it 1. I can understand the ads part, but every thing else went down with the update. It started to hang, the cannon became slow, the power of the balls became less( I spend more time on ball to break it) and even less frequent power ups or freeze ball. I am really thinking of uninstalling. ***** Nice game and it can be improved. For example, adding even powerful balls that will appear within the levels. Also, I wish there’s away to control the power level. My kids can’t compete with my current upgrades. If there is a way to roll back the upgrades it will be perfect.
