A game to love and care for

    Tabikaeru allows you to raise a froggy of your own—you purchase food and other travel items for your frog and watch it head off for travel and adventure. In the meantime, you wait (patiently) at home, collecting 3-leaves clovers (the currency in this gams) and hoping to receive some postcards from your frog’s travels. Eventually, (though the time is random) your frog comes home and brings back souvenirs! Then, you simply wait until they embark on their next journey. Despite its simplicity and (lack) of gameplay features, Tabikaeru is an incredibly addictive game that leaves you obsessed with your tiny frog friend/pet/child. I just open the app once in a while to collect clovers and check if my frog is back yet/left on another trip. Because of the minimal features you won’t be stuck in this game for more than 10min at a time. But it’s easy to understand and keep up, best if you are busy and can’t dedicate to a more complex game! Also it’s just fun unlocking new places and receiving cute postcards of your frog’s adventures ;w;

    Beautiful game

The art style is my favourite part of this game. I love Neko Atsume and Spoon Pets, but this shows you can still have an adorable, addictive game be appealing through a softer, sweeter look. The style makes me homesick for my years spent in Japan - Tabikaeru really embodies the peaceful, slower pace of the neighbourhoods and countryside of such a lovely country. The obvious care in the style of food, the half organized half haphazard little house, the memento pictures; everything is perfect. Admittedly while I’m more than comfortable using Google Translate in order to play, I’m afraid that it’s fairly obvious that a lot of the warm, cozy meaning is lost in translation. The game makes up for much of this through the art, but I’m honestly looking forward to the English version and hope they’ll still be able to convey the relaxed happy adventurer feeling in the end.

    Relaxing with Frogs...

This game is well-designed and very simple. I would, 10/10, recommend this game to anyone out there. It is, indeed, very similar to Neko Atsume, however I like it much better... maybe because the graphics are nice/appealing (along with how they try incorporating an aesthetic background) and instead of cats, you are keeping track of a frog (one that’s really cute). The only thing that’s difficult about this game is the language, because of course it’s in Japanese and you might not fully understand what’s going on. Also, I wish there were more animals added because I only just started playing and I know there’s a frog and a snail... I think, which feels very limited. Overall, I really like this game and is wonderful if you are looking for a game that’s relaxing/stress relieving.

Amazing game! But I think there's an error :((

I love frogs! And this is the perfect game for me. But recently I realized that my froggy, Hoshi, stopped coming home from his travels for some reason. It's making me upset because I can't see him anymore even after I tried to prepare his meals while he was away, and the red exclamation point just won't disappear. So I deleted it and completed the tutorial once again, but when he left, he still wouldn't return. Usually he'd come back in a few hours or so but now a few days would go by and he'd still be away. :(( I miss my little Hoshi, please try to look into the game asap! - Is there something i'm doing wrong? I tried my best to follow and understand the tutorial. Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Lovely, Peaceful Game

This game is definitely very charming and heartwarming with its beautiful graphics, cheerful music, and adorable animals. It’s very relaxing and is more of a hands-off game in which you only have to check back several times a day. Great for people who don’t want a game that requires too much dedication and time and who prefer a simple, well-done game rather than one with tons of extensive gameplay. I probably wouldn’t download this if you’re hoping for a more hands-on game with lots of objectives and mechanics to explore. Also, it’s important to note that the game isn’t available in English, however if you search “hitpoint frog game guide” then a couple guides on how the game functions should appear.

I love this game so much <3

I’ve been only playing for a short while, but I already love it! I found out about it from a tumblr post, it said it was from the same creators of Neko Atsume so I just had to try it! The mechanics are very easy and simple to learn, so it won’t be to difficult for people who don’t speak Japanese to learn. You start out with your pet frog and you get to name them (I named mine Frogi). Your money in this game are clovers you buy food and other little thing that they can take on their adventures. The more things your frog has, the more places they can go! They bring back souvenirs that you can keep, I haven’t figured out what they do yet, but I’m sure I will later.

    Come home froggy...

If your frog doesn’t come home and is not sending postcards, try putting some food on the table. Inside house click lower left button, then click on upper left square gold background, and add food already bought with clovers. The food will eventually disappear when you return and you may find a hungry frog busily eating at the table. I wish someone would take screen shots and translate a bit of the text. Some people don’t seem to understand the frog's friends. The frog brings back food for his friends. So when they stop by for a handout, tap on them and feed them! If you give the snail a cabbage he gets very happy and gives you clovers, or a four leaf clover, or a lottery ticket. The trick is figuring out the best food to get the most goodies back. You get the four leaf clovers from the frog's friends. I am highly educated and retired from two professional careers, but I can’t figure out why this game is so endearing and entertaining.

    I read Japanese but...

.. is hard. Basically in the House you prep lunch box (and travel goods) for the frog so he picks it for his journey. More items you put in the bag he can go far and visit interesting places and bring souvenirs and pictures. You pick the clovers in front yard and exchange to goods for frog’s journey. The list of souvenirs will fill up when the travel-loving frog bring them back. The tricky part is some items are associated for specific parts of Japan. I assume combinations of those talismans (blue, yellow, white, red,..) which you can get by drawing (need 5 tickets for 1 drawing) and good luck charms (4-leave clovers) can lead the froggy to South, East, North, West to collect those region-specific souvenirs of not so easy to collect. Unlike Nekoatsume, collecting currency (3-leaf clovers) takes time.

    Fun but unintelligible

This is an absolutely adorable game! Honestly really fun to play and not terribly hard to figure out if you don’t speak Japanese (I speak English and I don’t understand Japanese so I can’t read any of the text). I love the music and the animation style!! My only issue (and the reason I took off one star) is that there isn’t any translation options. I would like to be able to understand the little adventure blurbs and the tutorial text. So having an option to switch between Japanese and English (or any number of other languages) would be nice. It is definitely something I hope the developers consider adding in a future update. Thank you for all of your hard work and for such a beautiful, fun game!

    Help? Can’t open?

I love this little app, I love checking throughout the day to see what souvenirs my frog brought or what pictures he sent home I was about a month into playing when it started crashing before it could even launch?? It still sent a notification saying “Fuuta (my frog’s name) has returned” but I still can’t open the app... I have tried restarting my phone a couple of times but nothing changed :c I don’t want to delete the app and start over because Fuuta has already been to many places and brought almost all the souvenirs, please help?

    iPad version problem

I have been enjoying this game quite a lot until lately when I started to have problems with the iPad version. It started when no visitors showed up in the yard for almost 40hours. Then the turtle came. I fed the turtle and tapped out the game. When I tapped back to the game a while after, the turtle disappeared and the snail came. All seemed normal except that there was no gift from the turtle as usual. I fed the snail and tapped out the game. When I tapped back a while after, the snail disappeared and the turtle came back, already fed. And no gift from the snail. I turned off the app and restarted the game. Same turtle. I restarted the iPad. Same turtle. Then I turns off the app for a while. When I restarted the game, the turtle disappeared and a fed snail showed up! Of course no gift from the turtle either. What is going on? The game on my iPhone does not have this problem at all. I hope someone at Hit Point is reading the post since I can’t find where to contact them on their website. I hope they will have this bug fixed.

    English!!!

This game is adorable and so much fun. It would be sooooo great if you translated it into English. Half of a game is doing stuff, but the other half is really understanding and getting the details of it which comes from reading. Man how I wish I knew Japanese. I started playing this game and got most of my tips online because I had no idea what anything meant and I tried to just play it as is, but that’s when I realized that most of the detail in games comes from reading. I just can’t really fully play the game without knowing what types of food or tools does what and where my frog actually goes. So please make an English translated version. Like have it where you can change the language through settings or even just when you start the game. I’m sure you’ll get a lot more downloads. Thanks.

    Interesting, But Limited W/Out Translations

I enjoy this game as much as is possible, as a speaker of English and Spanish, but the game contains many more menus and areas than are shown on the tutorial that would, presumably, make complete sense if I could read the labels. As far as is made obvious to a non-speaker, there is a small frog that turns bagels, pizzas, omelettes, and other food items into images of itself, and you must pick clover from a small plot outside your house to purchase the food to give to the frog. While there are many other interfaces, these are the only ones that are really usable with no knowledge of what they are other than the graphic. In conclusion, an English translation would be excellent.

Too ambitious on ad after got popular

It is a cute little game, but there are a couple things. First, the ads’ length has increased to 30s from the original 5s after this update. I normally only spend 10s-20s in this game every time I check on my frog, now with the 30s ad it means I have to spend 3 times longer in the game to just wait for the ad to be done. Second, this is the US store, after a few updates it still only support Japanese and it’s been almost half year now. Other game by this workshop do have English version. If they can figure out how to put this in the US store, if they can figure out how to work out an English version for other game, they can do this one. They just didn’t want to. With the increase time of ad I was kinda disgusted. Just using up the popularity and get money when they can, instead of really improving the game and make it more popular.
