This game is fantastic! It is one of only two games I played every single day. The other one being the doppelgänger, POTC Tides Of War, both by JoyCity. But be forewarned: This game has an incredibly steep learning curve, frustrating a lot of people. ONE requires strategy, diligence, and frankly, a good relationship with your alliance mates. Find yourself a decent walkthrough/tips+tricks/FAQ and read everything you can about it. It's gonna help you later. If you love a fast paced game where you run and gun, shoot without thinking, or crush some candy, this game ain't for you. It's Clash Of Clans, for grown folk.

I've been enjoying this game for a long time - but the latest upgrade seems to have a major bug - I can't get into it!!! it tells me to update, which I've already done - once I confirm that, it stops loading at 79% & holding... every time!!! I don't know if it's just happening to me, but in any case, fix it!!! follow up: all's well now - I was able to get it working... & thanks for your reply!

Been going here for about a year. It amazes me there are no restrictions on a lvl 32 player to smash me and pull all my resources. There should be a limit. Some of the active buildings are dumb. Craft? But the treasures you find in game are better so what is the point in spending all ur resources in crafting? On a positive note. The game is entertaining and keeps me building in order to catch up with the heavy hitters

I am enjoying the game but I don’t have much money to spend. I have spent all I can. I bought four $1.99 packs that were supposed to add a good deal to my gold. I got other resources but no gold which was why I bought them. The other reviews saying so much needs to be spent to play the game worry me and I am becoming bored by only upgrading things and collecting resources. Not sure what might make it more interesting to me but I think a storyline would help. It would feel more RPG. I loved playing Adera, for instance. It felt more like I was actually part of the game and not just a monitor going through motions. I have a brain disorder that makes reading and learning anyway but listening to instructions and practicing very difficult.i would love to have a tutorial that is read aloud and available for multiple uses with each new stage I reach added.

Good game design with ways to enjoy it without having to spend money. That being said, it would be nice to make it easier to change our character picture without having to spend money. Adding short periods of contest or tournament would enhance the game features. Onto the next comment. How long is it going to take for game to be up and running again after this latest iOS and game updates? Really getting annoyed with the loops of “need to update game messages when there’s no update available shown in the App Store”.

The game was fine before and I even payed to get a good start. After the update it seems the game has down graded. First off it takes a lot to just be stable in this game. Higher level players pick of lower levels constantly leaving me, a starter, having to constantly use resources to repair ships and get back the troops that I’ve lost during defense. There are really only a couple major ways to get resources which is through Marigold’s quests, hunting and raiding, and through accumulation of alliance gifts. All but one of those you must have ships and troops to achieve which is hard to do when you’re constantly getting attacked and have to put a peach shield every 8 or so hours if you don’t have have a 24 hour one to protect you while you steadily repair your ships. Lately I haven’t even had enough to repair my ships nor gain any troops so I’ve had to spend more money into getting myself out of the hole those higher level players shoved me into. My suggestion is fixing the amount of resources it takes to fix your stuff and the waiting times are crazy. One to two days for your ships to become “un-sunk.” Its a real struggle after this new update.

This game use to be great. I spent hours playing and played in every free minute I had. But after the last big update everything has changed. It had become a game of mindless collection of resources to accomplish anything. More and more time to spend resources to spandex more time to build this and that to get to build or do that. And if mindlessly attacking monsters that never die just to get a few hand outs or sitting under a “peace shield” all the time because those players who achieved level 22 or higher before the update are constantly picking off lower level players because they too need resources or if waiting for a ticket to attack an NPC is your idea of fun then this game is for you. Wait! You can spend money to buy resources. They throw the advertisements in your face constantly to spend $. Sadly, I am quitting because you killed the fun, don’t understand what players want and just want $.

I had so much fun at first that I dropped $20 for a good start. Now, I can’t even play because every time I log in I have 4-5 hours of hospital time before I can do anything. Really, really infuriating, especially after paying real money! I respect that there’s a good strategic system, but how am I supposed to figure out what it is if I can’t even launch my ships? I’m seriously considering just abandoning the money I put into, no point putting good time after bad money. UPDATE: The developer response suggests a support ticket, which I did, but how is that supposed to help with flawed game mechanics? One more thing: even after playing only a couple of weeks, all you have to do is attack an NPC enemy that’s slightly stronger than you and a sunken ship leads to more than a full day of repair time and therefore inability to play. $20 wasted, I’m done.

Updated June 21, 2021: Developers - useless Tech support - useless Customer support - useless They updated the program on August 29, 2020 and although my iPad Air meets all their criteria, it crashes within seconds. The last message I received was “We are really sorry for the issue. Perhaps would you try to play the game on other emulators?” I am using an Samsung Galaxy 8+ and it also has issues. I can not access the discount store. Originally, I reported the problem on August 29, 2020 and on August 30th, I was informed that the problem was passed up to the developers. Apple, Inc tells me to report it again and that the developers are willing to resolve the problem. I received that message at least 9 times with no results. I have been playing the game since July 2017. I have reported several problems with the game. When they could not solve a glitch, the techs blame your devices or your network or your iOS version. It seems they are more interested in the graphics then resolving the issue. I am still waiting. I like the game and the other players but it is the only game that presents problems on either device or on the different networks that I use. I know I should give up on the game but after investing significant time in developing my characters, it is difficult to give up on an unresolved issue. You would expect the developers to be more loyal to their customers.

Don’t bother. JoyCity is a disaster and can’t respond appropriately. Every update is all about them getting money and driving out players. I have played multiple games including Game of War, Mobile Strike, War and Order, Ocean Wars, etc and like these others the developers are ruining what could have been a good game. The game is glitchy. Every opportunity that players have to advance they delete. They want to ensure that you have to pay for everything. They have even run players with good accounts off who have spent 5-10k because of disputes. They lock their accounts and blackmail them to pay 1-5k to open their accounts back up. If this company were in the US they would be facing federal charges. They hide in Korea so that they are exempt.

The game is fun. I enjoy playing and doing events. However, the abysmal customer service and neglect of their customers makes JoyCity a dreadful developer to work with. Rarely are problems resolved in a timely manner, if at all. Accounts are completely lost with little more than a form email informing the player they have received their issue ticket. No resolution and no reparations to the customer. Updates are consistently glitchy and are usually followed by one or more smaller updates. Accounts are often difficult to get into, and again, rarely addressed in a timely matter. The game is seriously skewed in favor of players who spend a lot of money in the game. Gaining advantages by paying for packages is understandable and expected, but it is not okay to ignore and neglect legitimate players simply because they don’t spend as much money as others. Overall, I really enjoy the game, but the developers seriously need to re-examine their customer service policies.

Don’t get this game. They left me and two alliance members stranded for two weeks, constantly delaying a fix for us and stealing your money. I was patient and waiting but still no response, no compensation, no nothing. I worked hard to get to level 31. It took me over a year. I spent lots of money. They don’t care. Three ships in our alliance are stuck, unshielded, with ships missing! I’m so disgusted, I am getting physically sick and so upset. I reported it to Apple but I’m going to report them again! Totally terrible! Trust me! They did nothing! Don’t get any games from Joycity! They steal your money and just don’t care about your account! Thieves! They are thieves.

I started playing this game in late December 2017. I’ve enjoyed playing except for the game upgrades and server shutdowns. On most occasions, including today I am unable to access my account. It says I must upgrade through the app store but no upgrade is available. Making matters worse Joy does not put a free shield on all player accounts that expires 10 minutes after a player signs in to his/her account. As a result my shield will soon expire resulting in the loss of resources, troops and ships. This is ridiculous as I am prepared to shield but cannot reach my account. If you choose to play be prepared to pay dearly for Joy City’s incompetence.

The game is very good looking and plays really well. Bugs are uncommon but present. Now, the game lacks any balance to it. Once your free shield expires expect to be attacked by players hundreds of times stronger then you. This causes troop loss and repair costs that drain your resources after they’ve stolen some of your resources. This game absolutely panders to the wallet warriors and big spenders. You will find 1-3 alliances dedicated to raiding you at every opportunity that presents itself. I don’t recommend downloading this game as it will give you more stress then reward. Alliances are extremely limited in the ways they can help you. I don’t recommend getting this game.
