One of the best mobile game / developers

Let me just start by saying yes I am a real person and this is a genuine review. I started playing HH around the time it first dropped on mobile, and honestly there isn’t a single mobile game that I’ve played that has kept me interested and engaged as long as this one! For starters, the game is super easy to pick up. It’s not difficult at all and there are plenty of heroes to unlock and upgrade so it’s not something you’ll blow through in a short amount of time. There are multiple types of in game currency, as well as “gold” which you can use to purchase crates that allow you to unlock characters a bit early. I know a lot of people see that and think “money hungry”, but there honestly is no need to spend money on this game as they give you so many opportunities to earn the currency through participating in events! Something I’ve never seen other devs do! This game has an energy system which early on really limited how much time you spent on the game, but now the devs have added several new game modes that don’t require it as well as daily quests and opportunities to earn more! All in all I recommend if you’re in to rpg shooters as this is probably my favorite mobile game of all time! 10/10 would recommend

    Great!

This is truly an amazing game I started playing I believe when it first came out got obsessed created my own alliance Alaska907 got my brother obsessed with it he joined my alliance and a couple of friends as well. It keeps me engaged and interested, longer than any game I’ve ever played on mobile. There are of course a couple things I would change such as the alliance store it takes sooooo long to restock and they have a lot of the same things in there constantly. I’ve been saving up alliance fragments to buy new hero fragments but it’s the same people over and over and I need new heroes. Also they start new god hero’s out at such a low star that after the events are over you toss the hero aside and don’t pay much attention to them because without them being at LEAST a 5 star they are useless. A couple of other minor things but for the most part those are my biggest concerns. Thanks hero hunters! :) Update... Of course I’m still playing and I still love this game! One thing I would love to see added in the next update would be a max hero skill button, I know it sounds like I’m to lazy to his a button 79 times to upgrade but it would save time to just hit one.

    Amazing game and amazing team

I don’t usually write reviews for apps but this game is unlike any I’ve seen/played and deserves recognition. I especially like how you can control each individual character rather than most games that are automatically controlled. The hero hunters team does an incredible job with listening to what the players would like to see and incorporating these changes in future updates more than any other game I’ve seen. The whole community within the game and alliances feels like a family making it feel more than just an app. The gameplay and characters are fun and unique with new updates being released every month. I love the diversity among characters and especially love how many strong female characters there are which are all very fun to play. Although it’s still a fairly new game and sometimes has its glitches in terms of connectivity, all around the game is 10/10 and overall very fun to play (I haven’t been able to put it down). Thank you to those who worked and continually work to make this game and to improve it, I truly have never loved playing an app as much as this one!

    Best

This team of Developers has not only created a extremely fun and competitive game, but they also (and I’m speaking from a lot of experience) have by FAR THEEE BEST and fastest turn around on any issues or problems that may arise! I have had nothing but 100% fantastic service regarding any and every issue that I have ever had with the game, hands down! And the fact that I’m still playing on a daily basis proves it after 2 1/2 years. They are constantly coming out with new heros and this is one of the very few games where it’s not impossible to get them. You can pay to play or just play for fun, the set up is such that you don’t have to worry about getting destroyed by PTP players. I gave the game 5* but easily would have said 10. I have never played one game other than this one for longer than a year or so, but I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. Lastly I have met and made some good friends on the game and for the most part have not run into very many D-bags that can ruin the fun for all, but there’s always a couple losers out there. I say give the game a shot and you will be pleasantly surprised.

    Part of the good few

I played this in the past and am currently playing this and as a person who absolutely despises what most mobile games stand for I will tell you right now this one of those 0.01% few that is legitimately good. Here’s a few horrible things about games normally: 1. timers, endless waiting, 2. Fragments, low chances at getting them, 3. Pvp, they will put you against over powered foes for your rank. NONE OF THAT IS HERE. Their are no loot boxes, you earn a good chunk of hero’s through modes. Fragments are GUARANTEED as in if you play a mission and it’s reward is a hero fragment you WILL get it. The”PVP” doesn’t just give you fair opponents, but the way you play is less timer based and more skill based: your hero’s have individual life’s and the only way you can’t play anymore for the day is if all your hero’s have lost all 3 of their life’s so the better you play the longer you play. Nobody paid me to write this, I am not a bot that is programmed to say this, and I am not some puppet for some jerk to be forced into this. I WISH mobile games were more like this and this is just great for what it is.

    Addictive until it's not

I have been playing hero hunters for about 6 months now and I have loved this game so much! It has tons to do and there are always events and new heros to get. They even add heros every month, however when you get to the point of having almost all the heros it is SOOOOOO hard to get any besides the new ones. They have crates you open to get heros and plenty of options to get gold to open the crates but I'm at a crossroads in the game. I have been getting gold and crates and I'm not getting new heros anymore so I just get more fragments for heros I already have yet may or may not want to work on them. This has been a game I have raved about for month but I'm getting to the point where I'm not sure if I want to keep spending time and money getting gold to NOT get new heros. For anyone who wants an active game that keeps you hooked this is the one for you. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to it not being super great for higher up people unless your willing to spend lots of real cash!

    Top notch mobile game!

I’ve been playing this game for close to 4 years. I’ve stuck with this game for multiple reasons. First, HH is constantly adding new and exciting content regularly. Second, there are very few games that are this size... there’s over 100 different HERO to choose from. Each has there unique abilities and some are much better than others. This game is NOT a pay to win... there’s plenty of people who haven’t dump a penny in the game and have all heroes. The game is generous with giving hero frags, and hero crate tokens. For just playing! Last point I’ll make... there’s a lot of modes, pvp, pve, campaign, hard campaign, extreme campaign, co ops, solo missions, bounty, and war. Not to mention monthly events to earn special rewards. This game is huge. Great communities in the forums. And direct contact with the developers. I mean, how cool is that? Most of them are pretty cool too. Upgrading hero’s is really fun. Download this game is check it out.

    It's Great, but Frustrating

I love the gameplay and variety of modes, especially since iOS is seriously lacking in terms of good TPS games. It is fun to play, hands down, and even a free player like me can find a lot to do and compete with P2W players. There are more than enough players in PVP for matches to be relatively fair, as matches are assigned based on team power. You'll win some, and lose some, but the game still throws you a bone when you lose, provided you take somebody down with you. You get more than enough gold for free if you are patient. --The IAP system, with its constant pop up ads are very annoying. I'm scrambling trying to do some PVP and all of a sudden some pop up shows up and I'm out 500 gold since I tapped a pop up by accident. Also, the gacha system of RNG pulls for free play leaves much to be desired since you cannot buy in bulk to guarantee a rare summon and they don't have 5* or 7* increased odds events like other games with similar systems. Allowing bulk summon to non VIP would mitigate this nuisance, even if this was only for a limited time or a special event, since the rarer heroes cannot be unlocked in hard mode....yet. All in all this game is a good diversion that I could even play offline, in campaign.

    Needs some bug fixing

This game is awesome, but sometimes my game crashes at random parts when I’m in PVP, or in the campaign. In the campaign I’m stuck on 11-7 Lawgivers Stadium, and when I reach wave 2, or wave 3, the game crashes, and when I’m doing PVP, when it picks the newer maps like Courtyard Clash, or Beatdown Boulevard, etc, just the newer maps, when they got released in previous updates, the game crashes in seconds while I’m in the battle. It’s annoying, because after the game crashes, you won’t know who’s going to win, and can’t activate abilities during autoplay. So fix that, and as for the campaign, I CAN’T PROGRESS! Literally all I’m doing is just battling on the same level, over, and over, and over, etc, and getting nowhere, wasting stamina, and time, because the game keeps crashing. So Listen Hothead Games, you make fantastic games, but always make sure that every time you release an update, or do add new maps, or campaign levels, etc, Always. Check. For. Bugs. If you find one, fix one. If your testing, or doing other stuff like that, always check for bugs, before releasing it to the App Store. By always doing this, you could make this game 1000x better. I hope you see this.

    Random chance

The gameplay is good. Being able to create, and design your hero’s the way you want is great, but there’s are some major issues that I don’t particularly like. The random chance, as in the name. I don’t really mind the quests you have to go on, that’s fine. The problem I have, is with the hero’s. There aren’t many ways to get a lot of the hero’s. The main way to get hero’s, is by buying crates with gold. You could make it to where there are more ways to get hero’s , like when you open a chest, you get something that will give you pieces to away hero of your choosing, or making every mission on hard mode give a different hero. It is incredibly hard to get what you want. Speaking of hard mode, I feel it is really easy. My suggestion, is that the enemy’s you fight are randomized, so you don’t know what your fighting. Maybe there is a boss on every mission, or the missions are leveled, so your allways challenged. I would suggest only increasing the difficult after they get 3 stars, because after you get 3 stars your only grinding. Over all it is a good game, but the randomness really gets on my nerves.

    Campaign is good. PvP stinks.

The campaign is pretty cool because it’s almost like an open world so it makes the game better and less boring. But eventually you’ll need more stuff to upgrade your characters to be able to move on to the higher missions. But the game doesn’t really give you anything to collect that quickly to be able to upgrade and move up in campaign which makes the game bad. PvP is fun when you start off because you’re against noobs and so you get to win a few games. But then it becomes tougher where your against people who buy better characters then the ones you have so then you start to lose every round in PvP. So it becomes impossible to move up in PvP because the teams are really uneven against each other. Not only that but the cover platforms get ruined and then your characters just stand there and die. At least make smarter computer bots. Over all though I think I’m done with this game. I’ll stick to Idle Hero’s. At least in that you can leave your characters on one mission on auto so they fight constantly on one mission till you come back to collect the money and loot. Then you’re able to upgrade faster and move on to higher missions. Not only that but you’re able to auto PvP to so that way you don’t waste your time fighting against people that are better then you. Now that’s a good game right there.

    Update

6 months ago I gave this gave 5 stars, well no more. They have thoroughly screwed it up. First, they began screwing with the heroes abilities & strengths a while ago because of a few cry babies. Now it’s out of control!!! So after you’ve spent months & hundreds of $ and all your resources building a hero... they’re suddenly useless!! 😡😤🤯 You don’t take away what your customers paid for!! If you want to fix it, make the other heroes stronger!!! Second, this game was so popular because it was essentially stress free, well they introduced a new game mode called Alliance Wars that EVERYBODY HATES! In fact, our top ten Alliance has lost 4 players in the past week who have sworn the game off completely. Third, the tournaments used to actually end at the appointed time. Now, after you stay up all night fighting to keep ur spot & get the best rewards possible, they almost always extend it by a day... then usually do it again. It’s ridiculous!! In my world, #2 & 3 on this list are called fraud! So save yourself the trouble & spend your hard earned $ on a game that knows how to leave a good thing alone. (Oh, & as a lot of these reviews stated, support is an ABSOLUTE JOKE!)

Another mobile “pay to progress” game. Not even very well balanced regardless.

A classic case of trying to reel you in at the start, then realizing you have to pay to get anywhere. I do understand that developers have to make money, but like most mobile games, they way overdo it. Yes you can technically “get everything without paying” but you’ll probably be in your 80s-90s before you do. Even just improving the heroes you have is a classic “you can do it by playing, but since it will take a whole day to get one out of the 20 pieces of gear you need, why don’t you just pay $2 to get it now?” PvP after the first 5 times of fighting noobs, puts you against players with heroes waaaaaaay better than yours that they paid for so you stand no chance unless you pull out the credit card yourself. Even if you decide to start paying to be able to compete, the game uses the loot box system that we all love and charish, so after spending $20 getting trash heroes that are worse than the ones you got in the beginning, MAYBE you’ll get one thats better. Another good ‘ol mobile game cash grab that reminds me why I stopped playing them. The game isn’t even balanced. Like why does a “frontline tank” that’s supposed to “absorb damage” have 30% less health than a “backline healer” that’s supposed to be vulnerable to dying easier. Do they just make new heroes that are busted and break the roles of the game just so you’ll pay to get them? It’s actually pretty funny not gonna lie.

    Great At First

This game use to be amazing when I started playing a year and a half ago. Since then the devs have slowly but surely increased costs of everything and made everything pay to win. This is all the while not addressing the plethora of issues in the game. Match making in PVP is terrible and people constantly abuse the system. The devs still haven’t addressed the serious lack of currency available for purchasing things like skill points a year later. Most OP hero combos go unchecked for months before getting addressed. They will introduce things like skins, then drop support. We still get skin tokens for events 2-3x a week yet no new skins for months to use them towards. You use to be able to get 12+ frags for a new hero per day and they lowered that to 8 max. Worst of all is every patch is buggy and some make the game unplayable. Chat was broken for nearly 2 weeks after a recent update. Very amateur stuff. All of this while they refuse to listen to the community and will shut down any post on their forums that questions them in the slightest. Pro tip to the devs, fire your community and design employees and give your art team a raise. They are the only thing keeping this game alive.
