Video Manual: How to Use the Skip Solitaire App

How does it Work?

Skip Solitaire is the ultimate sequencing card game. Get in the competitive spirit with the Skip Solitaire card game where players skilfully build their own stacks of sequentially numbered, ascending cards.

Skip Solitaire game objective is the players in the game look forward to discarding all the cards in their stock stack as quickly as possible. The first player to do so wins the game.

The deck consists of 162 cards, twelve each of the numbers 1 through 12 and eighteen Skip Solitaire wild cards which may be played as any number.

To begin the game, players are dealt the same amount of cards face down into what becomes their personal Stockpile. During play, they draw from a central Draw pile and work towards starting up to four building piles. Each pile is then built up numerically in sequence, 1 through 12.

A Skip Solitaire card is wild and can be played to start a building pile or as any other number, too. These cards are perfect for breaking up static situations or helping to beat your opponents. Use these cards wisely, for they can really help you beat your opponents.

Play with your Facebook friends, against the computer, against your friends in local multiplayer or with millions of Skip Solitaire players around the world.

You can also create Private Room and invite your friends to play.

Players in Skip Solitaire compete with their opponents to eliminate all their stockpiled cards by building piles in numerical sequential order.

Test your skills and get into the action, and place all of your cards in sequential order. Keep an eye on your opponents, though, because the first player to get rid of all cards in their stockpile wins.

In Skip Solitaire players use skill and strategy to create stacks of sequentially numbered, ascending cards until they have no more left to play.

The Skip Solitaire wild cards add extra twists to keep the game interesting and help you beat your opponents.

Skip Solitaire is the perfect type of game to play if you want to turn off your brain and play something that is relaxing and won’t tax your brain.

Really fun but needs a pause feature.

My family loves playing Skip-Bo, and I really enjoyed playing this tonight with my aunt who lives across the state. Our only frustration is that there is no way to pause during a game or between games without basically forfeiting the game. No way to let the dog in/out or take a quick bathroom break without having to create a new game room invite upon return. Please add! It would also be nice to be able to turn off the timer settings for each turn. I know this adds some urgency which is fun, however it’s frustrating to those just learning. Other than that, love it and will definitely be playing with others during our physical distancing! Thanks!

    Problems abound

My friend and I love to play this game because we used to play the physical game when we were neighbors, but now that we live at a 2500 mile distance, this is great! We love the microphone so we can chat while we play, but the game does have some issues. Frequently the game freezes and will not allow us to move the cards, and sometimes it moves cards for us. It’s quite annoying. For some reason, unbeknownst to us, from time to time the screen of either one of us goes white or red. At this point we leave the game and go to one of our other favorites. We really wish that the developers would fix these glitches.

    I can play anytime.

Playing Skip-Bo with my grandsons is wonderful. However they’re not always available. This is the next best thing. As a school ager many moons ago my grandma would have the card version of this game all set up when I got home from school. This was in the early 1970s...long before technology was no where near what it is today. If she had this at her fingertips I would not get the chance to spend all that time with her. I would give anything to have one more chance to play those card games with her. I need to get my grandsons linked to this game so we can play online!

    Great, but...

I love the game because it keeps me from being bored and u NEED to look at yours and the others cards and look at the deck to see which number goes next and how it have BOTH offline and online but my ONLY concern about this game is that for online it's only 10 cards in JUST YOUR DECK and u can't choose nothing, while for the offline u get the option to choose 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, & 30,. Could u pls do the same like offline 🥺 And the developers, pls respond to this and I gave it a 5 because it's fun and enjoyable when u don't have anything to do or when your bored.

    Skip-Po

It’s a good game because you get to play with not online, online, and with your friends! It’s a good game! And if you get it you will probably like it and you can review it too! And i just think that it should get 5 because you get coins and it’s just so fun! So I think that you should get this game! It’s fun to play, and it’s not that hard just a little though so I think it’s a good game that it should get a 5 rating! So I’m just saying that the game is so good that you should get it! SO BYE BYE!!! 😊

Really good game, but has bugs

Overall this a really fun game, I have been playing it for over a year, but I have been noticing a bug that repeatedly happens. when you join the round and finish it if you stay and go to the next round a lot of the time it will not be anybody’s turn, and nobody can do anything, unless someone leaves the match, then the A.I will play then it will be someone else’s turn. Also I have some suggestions for the game, maybe add like power-ups, like one where you can place a card down and you get to choose what number you want to place, or if someone is in head of you, you could use a skip card, so you have 1 less card, or one where your able to take one card that is buried under you other cards, and even more of your choice if you want, these are just suggestions, let me know if you think they are to overpowered or not. Thanks!

    A lot of problems

Don’t get me wrong this can be a fun time if you have someone to play with, or online can be very fun. Let’s start with the menu. It is nice and simple, with some fun little stuff surrounding the buttons like a plan flying around online mode. The music is nice but only if it’s very quiet because if it is anywhere above volume 2 then you can hear how bad the quality of the sound is. In offline mode the bots are way too easy and I beat them every time. Online mode is ok, I like how everyone has a timer to do their turn which is nice if they get disconnected or don’t pay attention then the get kicked, but at the end of the game you only have 3 seconds to leave until it starts the next game! That is not even close to enough time to quit if you want to, even if I do click quit it starts loading to do the next game since I have to click to buttons. I like the option to play with a friend as a lot of these board/ card games don’t do that for some reason. It has the same problems as online mode though.

    Good alternative to skipbo

Good alternative to skipbo. Only few things are is: 1) what is the money for? What can you spend it on? Nothing is stated anywhere about it. 2) The player’s hand of cards need to be moved over about 1/4” on the screen if you are going to do this game vertically. Why, you ask? Because on iPhones when we get too close to the left side for when we are picking a card furthest to the left from our hand, the phone wants to swipe out of the current application and move to the previous application you were in. This then glitches your hand and the card you were trying to choose now is stuck on the screen and you can’t use it until you use another card in your hand first in which then unglitches the cards. This has messed me up about 6 times tonight when I played for about an hour, resulting in me not being able to play the cards I wanted to which screwed up my play on the main pile we are trying to get rid of. That’s my only concerns...

    Please diversify

You have several Caucasian icon choices and only one African American female and one male. We have hairstyles other than Afros and that hideous hat. Please do better and make cute African American female icons and handsome looking male ones. Thanks. If no one picks those it’s not because they are black it’s because they don’t fit how the black community looks. I also play phase 10, too. Do better there as well. All my family plays that together. I’m going to pick the plain Jane, non-binary looking female you created for now. That is not a knock on the non-binary community, but if I’m not non-binary, I want something that represents me a bit better. Yes, I know it’s a game, but still, change needs to occur. I thank you kindly for taking this into consideration. Take care.

Would give this five stars but....

I miss the original Skip Bo game so bad. I played it for hours on end. Once they got rid of it I looked for a replacement and eventually found this. It is a very good and very fun game. I do not play with other people because I’m not a social person to a large extent. I like the offline mode. However, a couple issues. 1) Unless I’m missing it is there a way to change the number of NPC players you play against? I would like just one, not three. 2) Landscape mode to make the screen larger. I’m playing on my iPad and that was the one thing I adored about the original one. It was big and easy to see. My eyes are not the greatest. I can play this one, I just wish it was bigger. (This is the offline mode)

    Unsatisfying opponents

The game runs smoothly enough, but it’s frustrating that the computer players don’t employ any strategy. They play every single card they can—first in the first column, then the next, and so on. They will play a wild card in the first column even if that sets you up to be able to play from your pile next, or even if they could have used a wild card in another column to play from their own pile. The now defunct app I used to play had opponents who played more like real people, which was much more satisfying! I guess I enjoy (sort of?) winning easily, but I’m really bored playing against such stupid, perfectly predictable players.

    Constant glitches and bugs

Would be a great game if it didn’t have so many bugs that should be addressed. When playing with friends, the screen routinely freezes and we have to quit and start over. Also the screen will go blank in the middle of a game and we lose the picture. The top card in the pile will go blank and you can’t tell the number in your card. Sometimes a card in your hand will freeze and you can’t play this card or discard it. Other times you get kicked out of the game completely and again have to start over. If you try playing with more than 2 friends, it won’t let you open the game. I hope these issues will be addressed because it is basically a fun game but it is extremely frustrating right now.

  • By best app reviewer on earth

    Love hate

I PROS: I actually love the app and is very addicting can play with friends no pop ups just like skipbo timed so it’s not a slow game love love love CONS is the reason I gave it 2 stars I don’t like the fact that it has a million light skin tones avatars and just 2 dark skin avatars one has short hair n a hat and other one dark tone is a bald headed big lip black girl (I’m actually mixed dads white and my mom is a black female ) I find it to be a disturbing image of darker tones some of my friends downloaded this app and immediately deleted it never even playing with me who’s ever behind the scenes need to fix this even if y don’t like those tones u should not display it in an app .just do animals!

Thought I would love it but....

I was recently introduced to Skip-bo by some friends so I looked for an app to play in my down time. Found this. It was fun at first but I spend more time watching the AI’s play than i do and when I join an online game it takes twice as long to play ten cards than it does to play the 20 cards in AI. So when I do play i tend to play the AI but there are no leaderboards for that. I have to play with other people to get on the leaderboards and that takes too flipping long to do. I’d suggest evening out the playing on the AI side. Finding a way to move the actual real players along in the online game and put out some leaderboards up for those that beat AIs to be on. I’m gonna keep this around for a little while longer but I’m seriously leaning towards deleting it.
