Finally and actually challenging yet fun mobile game

It seems that every mobile game these days is either challenging, but not unique or way too easy and unique, however this game is an exception, and just when I’m starting to think that I have everything figured out and the game is starting to feel easy, I get stuck on a level and have to try multiple complex strategies to finally complete the level. You don’t get bombarded with adds with this game either. I love these kinds of games where the creators come up with a completely original idea, instead of copying other games. The only problem I seem to get with this game is when two cells are really close together, it seems kinda buggy and can be super hard to cut the line between them. I would also love to see a co-op and pvp mode in this game. I think it would be incredibly fun to battle your friends or cooperate with them and try to form an ultimate strategy.

Absolutely amazing game; especially during Corona.

Excellent game design, simple and calming yet engaging and challenging, VERY short ads at VERY reasonable and non-invasive moments. I don’t know how you guys are making any money, but you’ve made a top notch game. I especially appreciate the progression; every level is also a lesson in tactical thinking. I can’t fight the corona virus... but playing this game, going back to the beginning levels if I just want something zen, makes me feel like I am fighting it, in a small mental way. Fighting back against the invading virus, like so many people’s healthy cells are trying to do. Thank you for making this so ad-painless and soothing of a monument in these times of cooped up worrying madness. The humble mindset of the game designer(s) is clear, from the presentation of the first levels to the way in which reviewing the app is suggested. (I waited until nearly a week after the in-app prompt before rating and commenting. I’m on Level 70.) Of every app I actively and passively play, and of every app I’ve explored in the last 6 months (many, I’m a computer science minor with a specific focus in game design), there is no app game I would suggest trying out more than this one.

    Hard but fair and fun

Mostly agree with Killersteak, you can 3 star every level without items, cutting lines is difficult at times and will cost you the 3 star on occasions. A proper timer and better indication of max level cells would be awesome...at L300+ and still cant tell. There will be the occasional difficulty spike starting L60+ and follows up with chill easy levels usually. Each spike usually is accompanied with a new strategy to improve your gameplay. Best advice I could give: expand agressively and make sure your infrastructure can loop within itself.

Lots of fun especially for a free game

I’m at 294 out of 300 stars and I’ve had a lot of fun playing this game. There’s an achievement for getting 1000 stars so I’m really hoping they add more levels to make this possible. Awesome game though I would recommend it to anyone. Also, I was able to beat all 300 without using items. It’s difficult but possible. I only started using items when I was trying to 3 star every level and when I just got annoyed at how difficult some of them were.

    Great game, great developers!

I love this game. It incorporates both long term strategy and short term excellently. I’ve gotten to around level ~600 and can’t says I’ll stop now. While it’s not the best game I’ve played, I can tell that the developers are actually putting time into this game releasing updates unlike many of their peers and don’t make it pay to win like many other games like clash of clans and such. Great work guys keep it up!

    Fun, but gets repetitive

Game is fun, but after the first 100 levels, it is basically just repeating the same levels, I got to like 306(also you dont have to buy anything, be strategic, every level is possible). But after that it just got kind of boring as there was no new levels I hadnt already seen. Fun free game though, espcially for the first couple hundred levels. A really good mix of challenging and laid back levels. Wish they showed you how many levels total there are, I tried scrolling up as far as I could and never hit a max which further supports that at some point they are just recycling old levels.

    Fun but a little broken

I like this game, but in the new game mode where you need to take over the other core cells, level 180 is broken. The orange core cell can produce a seemingly uncapped amount of tentacles and can even double them up, it also doesn’t lose health. I’ve tried everything I can to get past it but the level is impossible as you can’t defeat the main cell.

Artafcial Difficulty to make you buy power ups

The game becomes trivial if you learn the secret so they amp up the other side and make them become so powerful so fast that you don’t have time to even grab any other cells. Some levels are straight impossible without, at least, the HP boost for 100 coin. The tougher tier enemy can just take your cells sometimes. I’ll have a full 30 cell and 2 seconds later it’s an orange cell. The other side knows exactly when to cut and never seems to run out of HP by constantly cutting, so if you’re not brute forcing it from the start of the game, they will just continue to steal your full cells. I’ve also seen that when I take a cell, it starts at the lowest value, but if THEY steal a cell, it’s full health. It’s artificial difficulty with rules stacked against the player just for you to buy power ups. It’s fun for the first 500 levels or so, but then it’s just a chore unless you spend money.

    It’s okay

Zero incentive to win doesn’t give you any coins or anything after completing a level. Once you get to the higher levels they practically make it impossible for you to win without used coins forcing you to watch 10 ads just to have a chance to win a level then win or lose you have to watch 10 more ads to either try again or have a chance with the next level. That being said I’m over 1000 levels in and I still play but I refuse to pay for so I’m stuck with ads.

    Fun but gets really unfair

This is game is fun and was quite additive at first, i likes the strategy needed to win at first and having to replay and try different ideas. Than at around level 500 there was a massive difficultly spike to the point it lost all entertainment. The levels got to the point I could not beat them with out an item not matter how many times I tried, and considering it’s almost impossible to stay stocked on items or coins with out spending money it kind of ruined it for me.

    Sudden HUGE difficulty curve

Decent game. Definitely fun and strategic... however... Difficulty progression in this game starts out very gradual until about level 36 where it suddenly decides to punch you in the face and hit you with a level that is MUCH MUCH MUCH more difficult than the previous. When I’m saying much difficult it feels like I’m going from level 35 to level 100 in one step. Was enjoying the game until this level which obviously was tough to the point that it would force you to pay money to spend gold for power ups if you even want to have a chance at beating it. This one level alone killed it for me.

    Too ad heavy

I’m on level 7,118 so I can say this is a good game to play to just shut your mind off, HOWEVER I’m just SO TIRED OF THE ADS. There’s ads to get coins, ads to advance to the next level and even ads to repeat a level. I can’t even imagine the HOURS of ads I’ve watched and I’m just done. Especially with the new ads that are a double click through. Give it a break guys. I’d pay $3 to only have to watch ads for power ups, but even then you have to watch like 20 30 second ads to get a pack of 3 (600 coins at 30 coins per ad). I’m done.

Gold buys don’t stack and don’t carry over

Traditionally, when a game asks you to spend real money on gems, gold or diamonds whatever you buy with those items gives you a permanent boost or item. If you spend your gold in this game on upgrading your starting base HP and then lose that level you have to purchase those upgrades again. Even though you can sit through an ad and get a “free” upgrade you may still need to spend gold. Also, if you don’t want to spend real money and just watch the ads, you must first watch the “free” upgrade ad before it will let you watch the ad that will give you 30 gold. Effectively this means you must sit through two ads, often the same, to get to the gold. So a 30 second downtime is now 60 seconds when most levels are under a minute of playtime; consequently, you spend more time watching ads then playing. Games are meant to be fun, this game could be, but unless you choose to spend more money than you would on a console game... don’t waste your time.

    Not the apps fault

I’ve actually enjoyed the game a lot, and it’s not their fault I’m going to delete it from my phone. My issue is the fact that Facebook continues to send me the exact same ads even after I report it as offensive and request that it is hidden from me. I’m not referring to similar type of ads, but closing the app and opening it and being given literally the same as. While I realize there are probably options available to use settings on my phone to do the same thing, that should not be necessary since I’m being told by Facebook that it will be hidden. I have no issue with you guys including ads, I know they’re necessary as a way to generate revenue, but at this point, I have no desire to continue to use an application that has Facebook acting in such a way.
