One of the best strategy games on the App Store

I’ve been playing smashing four for a few years now and continue to be impressed by Geewa’s innovation and commitment to listening to the player community. The game has improved a lot in many important ways over the last two years. There are multiple ways to engage with the game, including arena battles, ranked seasons, challenges, achievements, clans, friendly battles, and the newly redesigned skill shot. Even better, Geewa has made it even easier to progress through the game by massively increasing the amount and frequency of rewards. Even an hour of gameplay a week can progress you pretty fast, since battles usually only last a few minutes. There are also many opportunities to buy orbs, cards, coins, and gems from the store in frequent affordable bundles. Definitely worth checking out! Come join us and get smashing!! :D

Fun and simple and great clans to be part of!!

One of the best simple and complicated and strategy or just smash either way u can win!!! Plus it only takes one hand to play this game so for all of us adhd people out there this game is perfect.. developers Thanku for the constant interactions with us players but we need a playback for replays so we can share in our wins and defeats,,, but most of all please find a way to balance out the matches at levels 13 and up, a total number of the hero’s being used for common hero’s and 1.5x for rare hero’s and 2x for epic.. I believe u can give a person a choice for what we can call the above balance match (since I found the idea I get to name it) imperial balanced matched or balanced as a (nut)match, and the original way named to be determined by u devs.. only great games will bring to life an idea of a fellow gamer but we r smashers of the north and we are !!!

    I keep coming back

This game is not flashy and not something I’d call exciting but after I stop playing for awhile I end coming back. The simplicity of the game is its best feature as well as somewhat of a problem because you can be successful with not knowing anything at least in the short term. But if you learn what each unit does a level of skill starts to reveal itself. The characters are unique and fun and if you get past the simplistic appearance and the straight forward game play and involve yourself in the gameplay beyond the main arena the game will open up and become more than it appears at first. And while this is not at least to this point is a hugely followed game the developer is keen to go the extra steps to make the game work for all the players. It took me a while and more than one deletion to understand the charm in this game and the main reason I would download it is the contact the seemed above and beyond what other games seem to do at least from what I see sure if you spend tons of cash you’ll here from the developers but I spent very little and the attention was still there. Each time I deleted it I had a twinge of guilt that i was letting someone down so whenever I could not find something new this game was sitting in my head and finally I understand this game and enjoy it very much.

    Interesting yet Simple Game

I want to start by saying I have only had this game for about a day, nor do I often rate games, so my opinion might not by the best. Smashing Four is similar to Clash Royale, but with a twist on battling. You will have a deck of four characters, each (once unlocked) will have a special ability, which is its defining trait. You will “smash” your units into opposing units to do damage. All in all it seems like a good game, but I only gave it four stars because I feel like there is room for improvement. Epic and Rare cards could be a little easier to get, but this is a more minor concern. I am already up to the third arena but still lack many cards from the first and second arena. This perhaps could be solved with shorter wait times for orbs, more orb storage, and more instant rewards. I also have some ideas to add. It might be cool for characters to have a second ability, that they unlock later, or maybe a “passive” and an “active” skill. This could help make the characters more unique. I also have not yet seen any signs of a clan war, or anything similar to that. Although many other games have that, this game could greatly benefit from it, especially by making it enjoyable and unique. Other than these suggestions, the game so far is great and if you are considering it, you should get it!

    Add more features

It is an incredible game. I would like to see some good featrues in the coming updates such as viewing other players’ owned cards. Also, Balancing the opponent of the training. Sometimes, the opponent training is very higher level than me. The computer is smashing hardly with three smashes at least in a turn it kills the training because I need to practice the abilities of my heroes and their performance. At least, make the true players in the training receive NO DAMAGE to get more time for practicing. Also, the orbs or chests that I get it takes a long time to wait to be opened and I want to play more games but I am afraid of missing rare orbs “chests” while waiting the other orbs to be ready for opening and receiving my rewards. moreover, the rewards of a common orbs are very low, I know I should play more to get more rewards but when account and check the games that you played/won you will notice that is not worth to miss the chests to get gold. Finally, I like this game so much. It’s funny and addicted. It lets me want to play more. I hope that you guys make it more better than now and DON NOT lose the original game try just to make it more funnier and perfect. Thank you for your INCREDIBLE GAME.

    Good game, great community!

So this game has the same UI as Clash Royale. You get orbs for wins which is essentially the cheat mechanic, a store with daily deals, sometimes you get free gold or gems, along with a free to open chest every few minutes. A clan system where you can donate cards to level up troops and so on. The community: everyone so far seems pretty chill, I took to Reddit looking for a clan and was immediately greeted by an official. I lurked the sub for some time and I saw they communicate with players and that really made a good first impression. If the Devs listen and take part in its player base, I will be inclined to spend money on this game here and there to help it grow. Why the 4 star rating: I’m still new. Only at the 3rd arena, the reason for not giving 5 stars is that I feel the gold economy is a little too low. I don’t feel like I should purchase cards from the store to help with upgrades, if I do I won’t have enough to even do the upgrade, and it’ll take a couple days or more to save up to do so. I feel like you should warn 20% more gold for wins. Aside from that, there should be a replay system where you can review and share your last 10 or so battles with the Clan

Very good but long chest times hurt it

I’ve been enjoying this game so far. Simple to play, but hard to master. I also like how the arenas are unique and change up the gameplay. Normally, I rate this 5 stars, but I subtracted 1 star due to the wait times to open a chest/orb. 3 hours is for the most common orb. So I don’t really spend much time playing this game unless I’m losing a lot. Since I don’t spend much time playing, it’s hard for me to justify spending money. If I’m still playing several months later, I’ll buy something to support the devs. Note: I’m also not a fan of the quest system as you get near duplicates for tasks that are not fun or interesting like winning 4 games using 3 common cards. I’m holding back on upgrading as I’m waiting for the upgrade task. I won’t subtract a star for this, but it does play a role in my decision to delay making a purchase as it artificially slows progression. One thing that could be a win-win is to allow players to view an ad to speed up orb opening times.

    Wrong way!!!!!

Addition.....I understand the need for card adjustments, it is needed ina game so that it does not become stale by seeing the same cards over and over match after match. But in the case like the yeti where you took it from the bouncy boss it once was to a basically useless dps with lots of health it eliminated it from being a viable card to use at all. Why did you remove the ability to keep the damage until he end of his turn? It’s still there for the barbarian, you even removed it from the description of his power!? I grind this game, I don’t spend money so it makes me very glad I don’t because if I spent money on a lineup I like but you change the toons around to make my cards no good anymore I at least only lost time not my hard earned money. How about if a card is too powerful maybe bring the other cards to that level rather than bringing he good cards down a peg? I was very close to spending money but things like this remind me why I don’t. Old post...... You nerfed the zombie, and buffed the wraith? Wraith should not be able to wipe an entire team with one shot, no other toon can do that. And then you gave him more health and damage what was your thinking behind that? That buff only helps the few people who are lucky with orbs or spend LOTS of gold. Good job only helping out some people and screw the rest of us who have to face him. Was 4 stars now 3.

    Great Game but...

I love this game and I’ve been playing it for the past few months but I’ve noticed a big issue with plateauing. This happens to many players and is mostly due to the need to spend money to receive epics and higher leveled cards. Many of my friends have abandoned this game due to the fact that they’ve just gotten stuck at certain trophy levels. This game is supposed to be fun and competitive once you reach the highest arena and get rewards after each season but most players never end up reaching it. Even just playing and opening orbs is almost useless at higher trophy counts. It would even be helpful just to be able to throw away blue orbs or even rare orbs because of how useless their drops are. You can’t even request epics from clan mates either which I believe is stupid. I’ve realized that you need to spend money if you ever hope to get an epics card to level 7 or even 6. I really hope that in the future you’ll be able to request epic cards from friends or at least make them rare drops from common orbs. At the moment people only play in hopes of receiving ultimate orbs (which happens at around every 200 trophies) which make their trophy counts skyrocket.

    Matchmaking broken

I have been playing this game for a bit. It is a great game to pass time and you can grind and move up ranks without spending money. Rewards are generous and clans make advancement easier. This being said matchmaking is a joke. They say it is because the match trophies up with the matches not the levels of player. This would be fine if the variance was in anyway comparable. The trophies may be the same but when you put the same characters up against each other such as assassins, a level 14 will hurt and 18 but and 18 will kill a 14 in one hero bounced hit. There is no defense for this as it is the first move and you have not even taken a turn. They really need to work on matches since you can buy your levels. Teams should be balanced with hit points maybe instead of trophies. Who knows. I’m not a developer so maybe there is a reason. As it sits right now I’ve put in enough cash for sure. Between battle passes and some character bumps but I always have to stop and think if it’s really going to even matter since the next guy has already just maxed out his character and I’m getting high enough that I’m getting matched with these guys consistently.

    A few issues

I want to start off by saying that I like this game. It’s fun, you can build your way up without spending money, and there are a lot of different and (for the most part) balanced characters to use. There are a few issues I have with the game though. First and foremost, matchmaking does not favor a fair match, especially in challenges. Players with much higher leveled cards are often placed against those who might have just started. This is not conducive to a fun, or fair, match. The same sometimes goes for normal matches. While I understand the need to base battles off of trophy amount, some battles end really before they have started due to the card levels. Another issue I’ve seen in this game is the inability to gain rare or epic cards from lower tier orbs. I think that allowing a rare card to, rarely, be obtained from a common orb and allowing an epic card, again rarely, to be obtained from a rare orb would allow for players that don’t spend money on the game to better enjoy it. Thank you.

    New update is greedy

I’ve played this game off and on for years. YEARS. Probably the last 5-7 years or so I go through phases where I play for quite a long time. It’s fun, it’s kind of mindless and a good time waster. I LOVED the update that brought in personal quests, and the rewards encouraged players to play the game. The newest update, however, is just plain greedy. It combined personal quests and the battle pass, so now you have to pay to claim the rewards that used to come from playing the game and completing your daily/weekly quests. I can’t even claim my rewards from personal quests that I completed before the update, so they will just sit in my inbox forever, unable to be claimed. It’s greedy, and takes away the incentive that was there for players to play the game the same way. I’m not spending 4.99 for my daily quests to give me decent rewards. I used to actually buy the battle pass every so often. I won’t be spending a dime on this game anymore. I’ll pop in to do my clan quests every other weekend, but that’s about it. I would’ve been happy to give this game 5 stars before this update, but not now. Developers should be ashamed of themselves for this update, gearing the game more and more towards pay to win than it ever has been before. Thumbs down.

    Buggy with Bad Algorithms

This game should be simple, but it seems like every month some new bug pops up to make it even more frustrating. Today I didn’t get the point after a skill shot. Why? Who knows? It’s just part of the game. When someone gives up, does it freeze the entire app so you have to shut it down and re-start? Yes, yes it does. Is that fun? No, no it’s not. The worst part of the game is that they they apparently match people based on their arena, which in turn based on cups. That is just stupid, bad game design. Arenas should be based on cups, but the matching algorithm should be based on total team power. There is no reason I should play against a team with a power level that is +4 or more than mine. If I have 4 x 13, then why I am playing against a team with 16, 15, 14, 14. That’s just dumb. It’s no fun for either player. The matching should be based on team strength within each arena and not purely the arena. If this means producing more bots with fake names and guild associations, then so be it. I feel like I’m playing against bots half the time anyway.

If you’re good they give your opponent an advantage

This game would get 5 stars if it wasn’t rigged. I have a very high win percentage and once you advance through the game with that high win percentage, they start to give your opponent an obvious advantage. I just played 10 games in a row to test this and look for things I thought were happening. Out of those 10 games I went first 1 time! They also allow your opponents to stay in the game after you‘ve eliminated them and don’t extend that to you. In those 10 games, I left the opposing player with no life in their 16 times and they were deemed to not be killed and allowed to continue fighting. Not one time did any of my characters show zero health and be allowed to continue. They also change the rules for proximity. During my turn I have left players overlapping my opponents and they didn’t allow me to register a hit a single time out of 4 times, however my opponent was allowed to register hits in the exact same situation or slightly further 7 times in those 10 games. The game play itself is incredibly fun and would be one of the best games available if it weren’t for these obvious and blatant issues.
