Finally here! The best and darkest Star Wars

First off I just wanna say I’m so thankful this game is finally here I’ve been hoping for this port to be able to cross over to the phones for so long. I love the first game but the second game was the first one I played out of the two and I was blown away by the amazing role-playing mechanics and story. The best thing about this game are the characters and how the characters are the focus and this one a lot more. Influencing your companions to make them into Jedis or sets is one of the most satisfying payoffs in this 30+ our video game. In short you definitely want to buy this and have it on your phone to be able to play wherever you go it is a timeless classic and my favorite piece of Star Wars media out of every game movie or TV show. Kreia is the most interesting and best character ever. My only complaint is I noticed the characters running speed is significantly slower than what it was on PC and Xbox. Please adjust this so that running speed is as fast or even faster than the original game. The KOTOR 1 port to the phone had boosted the running speed for the player so I’m sure Aspyr can also fix this with KOTOR 2. Thank you!

    Interface issues

This game rocks and I’m glad to see it’s on mobile, I just had a problem with the interface text being too small and the hud should be redesigned to look normal on newer phones. I also suggest that they move the quicksave button far away from the options button. This is very minor, but it slightly bothered me how a lot of the menu buttons are light blue when the rest of game is mostly green themed. That’s about it. I remember seeing a review on kotor 1 about someone being upset that the button to spin your swords from the original game was removed on the mobile version and it upset them because they used to spam that button all the time, as I’m sure we all have, and they added that button in the mobile version of this game, so if that doesn’t make you want to buy it, I don’t know what will. Oh yeah, and fix the bug where the audio cuts out after a phone call.

    Greatest RPG of all time

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is set a thousand years before the Phantom Menace. It is the story of an exile who seeks to reconnect with the force in order to save or destroy the galaxy, the choice is up to you. I love this game! I was maybe 8 or 9 when my dad introduced me to this game. I played it on an old Windows XP computer and I could never beat the first disc! Now years later, having beat it with and without TSLRCM on computer, it’s finally made its way to mobile! It’s great what Aspyr has done to port this to mobile, and even though it doesn’t include TSLRCM, it’s still an enthralling story with a great cast of characters and a certain charm that’s shared between it and it’s predecessor(Knights of the Old Republic 1) that just oozes quality and still holds up as one of the greatest stories ever told in Star Wars. 160% recommend if you like RPGs or just want to get into Star Wars in general, this is one to get!

Good game just wish it had some features

I’ve finished this game and I did finish it as soon as it came out on iOS but I wish that their were achievements for certain things like if you finish the game and beat Kreia then you can start a new game with cheats on letting you add whatever you want from the game into your inventory or when you beat Sion or nilus you can start the new game wearing their armor if you complete the game with at least 75% dark side you at level 20 get the force ability of force sabers or at 75% light you at level 20 get world knowledge or if you finish at complete gray Jedi or Sith then you get at Korriban or a hidden chest on Dantooine you get a light side or dark side of Revan’s armor or lightsabers. That was a lot and I just want something new o the game because I’ve just gotten bored of the repetitive story with the same items

    LBeautiful, just beautiful

Totally worth the pre-order! Huge nostalgia rush, loved the first one and the sequel even more. I’m so grateful for this, especially since Aspyr said (what feels like long ago) they likely wouldn’t do this. All I can say is: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Now the only thing, just ONE thing, is I’m a little sad that this is the cut content version that was released on launch back in the day. Though I’m hopeful updates may restore the full version. Regardless, cut or not, this game gets 5 stars from me right off the bat. Runs way better than it did on my old computer back then as well haha! I remember having to install a bunch of patches and fixes. Now it’s all on smartphones, just amazing how times have changed. Once again a big thanks to Aspyr for this, I rarely write reviews at all but this was so worth a 5 star.

Still one of my all-time favorites

When I saw that KOTOR 2 had finally been ported to iOS, I bought it right away. I played this game over and over when it first came out in 2004, and no matter how many times I’ve played it, it’s never come out the same way twice. I love KOTOR 2 for the customization of the characters and the fact that the story is about the PC. As much as I love KOTOR 1, it always felt like it was more about your companions than the PC, even with the big twist near the end of the game. I’m already on my second play through since I bought the game. It doesn’t matter that it’s over fifteen years old, it’s still one of the best Star Wars games ever. As for the port itself, the touch controls are really good and easy to use. I end up accidentally talking to my party members a lot, but that’s the only compliant I have about it. Also, the movement speed could be faster. I end up using Force Speed a lot just to get around quickly. All in all, great game; great port. Makes me wish Aspyr could port some other great Star Wars games like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Then the nostalgia would be complete!

    Great port

Been a fan of these games since they came out. I was very excited when the second one was finally released and I’m really satisfied with how it plays on the iPhone. As many have said the turn based (hidden dice too) lends itself well to the mobile platform. I’ve played them consistently over the years but it’s funny how much easier than when I was a kid playing them. Really the only issue I have is that it can overheat my phone just a tad, and while it doesn’t crash, my phone (iPhone 11) will drop the brightness on what is already a fairly dark game, even with settings maxed in that regarded. Not too terrible though. Well worth the money

An excellent port of an unforgettable game!

I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time... and Aspyr delivered with the hidden ability to install some PC mods as well! This is the FULL GAME, no-holds-barred! The fact that mods, including “The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod”, are able to be installed via iTunes or Mac makes this an easy five star review, as the game wasn’t exactly finished when it came out in 2004 (thanks to the ridiculous 1 year development cycle forced onto Obsidian). This is a must buy for iOS as it runs well (including an option for uncapped frame rates), has good/great touch controls (which the original game practically begged for), and is an unforgettable Star Wars role playing game with tons of replayability.

    Simply Amazing!

KOTOR 2 is hands down the best out there in terms of Star Wars mobile rpg games. I’m not the type of person who plays rpgs at all but when I first played KOTOR 1 I couldn’t put my phone down even despite it having its challenging moments at times, I managed to finish it and love every bit of it. Now that I’ve finished KOTOR 2 I look back on KOTOR 1 and realize that KOTOR 2 simply surpasses the first. The story, character development, customization options and everything about KOTOR 2 is just brilliant that I couldn’t stop playing and finished it in about a week or less. All in all, if you’re looking to get into a rpg game, more specifically, Star Wars, then KOTOR 1 and 2 are a great start.

    Amazing!

I have to say, waking up one day to see my favorite game of all time come to mobile was amazing. Even more so actually playing it. It runs great for me, I do have a bug with sound effects but I’m sure they’ll fix that before long. Now the next thing I need to figure out is if they added the RCM content in the game or not, I’m assuming not and really hope they will or give us an option/way to install it. I’d also like an option for cheats, I’ve played this game dozens of times so having a little fun with an OP character wouldn’t be too bad. Well, just having more speech would be great! 😂

The best-written Star Wars game now on IOS!

This is my favorite Star Wars game and playing it on my phone is a dream. I would reiterate what another reviewer said and note that it would be amazing for the restored content mod to be brought over as well. Also, a small request to the devs: I love playing KOTOR with the sound down so I can have my own music playing as the app runs. Right now, KOTOR 2 doesn’t let me do this. My music stops whenever I open the app and I can’t get it to work. If you guys would change this, you’d be making my favorite app even better

A Timeless Classic Finally on Mobile!

Why are you reading my review? There are a billion reviews of this out there! Go read a classic one from the 2000s and get hyped! It is 4 stars only because there is no gamepad support yet, unlike the first game ported by Aspyr. These guys have all of my respect for the amazing work they do, and I’m sure that the gamepad support will come. At the moment though, it’s a pretty glaring absence. I’m not a fan of touch controls, so I’m looking forward to being able to play this with my Razer Kishi. If that’s not something that bothers you, then there’s no reason not to get this game. KOTOR 1 and 2 are the best RPGs you can put on your iPhone, no competition.

    Audio can controls

I absolutely love this game and I’m more then happy that it’s finally been ported over for mobile, the only issues I’m having is the audio when I walk seem not to work correctly when I walk or engage in battle all I can hear is the music, the controls are also a problem it seams like when I run I’m not able to look around and run at the same time causing me to have to stop and reposition the camera to move in the direction I want to go. Once those problems are fixed this game will easily get 5 stars from me

Great game but still so many bugs

Like I said, great game that I’ve enjoyed since it came out 16 years ago. It’s just a shame that they still haven’t figured out how to fix the same problems from.. 16 years ago. Most of the game runs fine and beginners wouldn’t even notice anything wrong. If you’ve never played KOTOR II before, ignore this rant and consider this a 5* rating. But certain side quests are supposed to give you particular items to enable to get you inside a specific room, for instance, many many hours later into the game. Well I just found out, probably 15 more hours into the game, that the item was never actually put in my inventory. So even though I can go back in my quest log and verify I did things correctly, there’s no way to finish this extended “quest” other than go 15 hours back and replay everything once again. That’s definitely not worth my time.. I only decided to show support for you guys and buy the game again, hoping that the love was really put into it this time. Tl;dr: It’s basically a KOTOR II CD-ROM ported to iOS with some antialiasing features. It performs as such, don’t expect to discover any new (repaired) content.
