I Like This App, Again, Again & Yet, Again.

If you like word games &/or jumbles, this app will more than likely, float your boat. (FYI: Be careful if you let your kids, or anyone else for that matter, use your phone. Please, make sure that they know NOT to delete any apps without your approval!) I only mention this because on 2 separate occasions, (once, when I was about 2/3 & the other, when I was 3/4 of the way from completing the game) this app & all of its data was deleted! As you can imagine, I was more than a bit peeved.(BTW, this wasn’t, as many would assume, a small child that thwarted my game. No, this was my 19 y.o. son. His phone battery had died & he needed to download one of those social apps, so that he could talk to his girlfriend. Not enough memory on mom‘s phone? No problem! I’ll just randomly delete a few apps. *sigh* But, I’m not bitter :-) Sorry, got a bit off topic didn’t I? Anyway, I really do enjoy this game. )Obviously I do, or I wouldn’t be starting over from scratch for the third time, right?) This game can be a little frustrating at times, but that’s what makes the game challenging, right? But, all in all, this is a pretty good game. Bottom line: I like this app!! :-)

    Brain stimulation

I love this game! It's much more challenging than your typical word search. There might be more than one path to make a particular word but only one is the correct way to be able to connect the letters for the remaining words. One of the things I really like (especially in the lower levels) is that there are a lot of red herring words that make it even more challenging. If you're looking for a quick-fix game this might not be for you. I'm in the Grey Whale set of puzzles and it often takes me multiple sessions to solve. I must have bought the minimal hint package to remove the ads which was, what, $1.99? Knowing now how much I enjoy Word Bubbles, I would gladly have paid more—shhh! With the daily hints that I earn, this is way more than enough. Don't use hints, do stretch your brain, that's the fun of the challenge! I have not had any of the technical issues other reviewers have mentioned. Update: I’m now up to level 1126, have amassed hundreds of free hints by religiously playing the daily puzzles, continue to love the challenge even when it takes me multiple sessions to see the words and/or solve the correct paths, and stand by my 5-star rating!

    Great app, great customer support!

Love this app...it is my morning brain exercise to keep my brain working, and as much as I love the app, their customer support is even better. I have been playing Wordbubbles every morning with my cup of coffee for a few years now, and I had worked my way up to a fairly high level. Recently I had an issue with my iPad and all my history disappeared...suddenly I was back to level 1, Algae and 3 letter words. Ugh! I found the customer support email and sent them an email explaining my dilemna. I honestly didn’t expect any response and even if I l got a response, I didn’t really expect that they would be able to help me. Much to my surprise...the next morning I had an email with clear, easy to follow steps to get me back to my level. I followed the steps, and voila, I was back in the category. Great app, challenging and fun, and great customejr support!

    Fun and calming

I play this game without any sounds, mostly because I find it calming to just swipe the little bubbles in silence (however it is just as fun and nice to play the game with the sounds). I’m on sort of the intermediate levels of the game where it takes a while to complete a single level, but I personally don’t find a problem with it because they have daily and weekly puzzles that are usually easier to do and also give you free hints. Since it takes me a while to complete a level, I don’t get as many ads so I can’t exactly complain lol but if you’re on the early levels where they’re easier to complete you’ll probably get a lot more ads. I play this from time to time and it’s just fun to play and to use your brain to find and put together these bubble words which have no common theme.

    Keeps you thinking!

This game is slow starting but once you get though the first few levels it really starts to work your brain. It’s a lot harder than you think it is in the beginning. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. The only downfall to it, but you have to tolerate this with every game you play, is all the ads that you have to put up with. However, like I said you have to put up with that crap with every decent game you play. Now, they do offer a decent package you can purchase to get rid of the ads and also buy hints at the same time. I do believe that is an offer I am going to take. Other than that I have no complaints about this game. Like I said it really is a very challenging game and I would recommend it to any one that likes word games!!

    Great game!

I really enjoy this game and the further along I get the more challenging it gets! I had 2 major brain surgeries that caused me to lose a lot of words plus the ability to sound them out since I cannot get the letters from my head to paper & have dementia! I was never given any kind of Theraphy because I wasn't expected to live or when I did not for long, but 10 years later I'm still fighting! But no Theraphy and this app has been such a help in keeping the dementia from getting worse plus I am slowly getting better at sounding things out!!! I am so greatful I found this app & a couple of others by the same company!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR ANYONE OF ANY AGE OR PHASE IF LIFE JUST FOR THE FUN OF THE CHALLENGE!!!👍🏼👍🏼

    Challenging and fun to play

I play WordBubbles every day at least once. I never give up; I always solve the puzzle! Sometimes I use a hint, maybe on the last couple of words. Only once when I started playing the game did I purchase a few hints. Since then, I win enough to keep me stocked. I’ve been playing for about three years, so I am encountering some very challenging word groups. Love it. Will not go to sleep with an incomplete puzzle. A couple of things I haven’t figured out. What are the coins used for and how can I see how many coins I have? Also, what is the advantage of the genius points? If they are just “a pat on the back,” I do not need an iPad to give me worthless genius points.

    Everyday with wife

Everyday my wife would play and occasionally ask me for help when she could not find a word. As puzzles got harder I got sucked in and eventually joined her for 15-30 minutes to solve 1, 2 and then 3 puzzles a day for last 4 months. We finally reached the end 2 days ago. Now on to Celebrity Crossword and the fun continues. Running our own business from home it was a welcome break. Especially in the morning and afternoon so we did not fry our brains. A total disconnect that we laughed together doing while throwing out words that either were obviously wrong or misspelled. To see that smile on her face or make her laugh so hard that she peed a little....Totally worth it!!

    Fun, not perfect though

The game is simple to learn, but as you advance it can become so challenging that it isn't fun. That's when I take a break for a few months to gather up free hints from the daily puzzles- because the hint packages for sale are ridiculously expensive. There are two major flaws that I see in this game, which keep me from giving it 5 stars. 1) You cannot pick the game difficulty that you want to play; you start at the very basic easy levels and work your way up. Sometimes, I want to focus in and work a devilishly challenging level, while other times I've got a few minutes to kill and want something easier to do. This game gets very boring when you get to the top levels and you're left with nothing but puzzles that will take you a long time to do. 2) There is no way to record the words you've found in the current puzzle you're working on. This is for the higher levels, where you've got multiple difficult words which have to be traced in a certain way or you risk not being able to complete the missing words. It isn't uncommon to have to restart a puzzle because you left a few straggling letters on the board that you can no longer connect. Unless you have written down your "known" words, or have a good memory for sometimes esoteric words, it's possible to forget those words when you restart. A Notes function within the game would be great!

    Word Game with Word Problems

[SPOILER] Puzzle 355 contains a proper noun as one of the solution words. The bad part is that I think this was inadvertent on the part of the developers who didn’t realize that a certain popular personal mobility device deliberately misspelled the word they used to title their device. My only other critique is that, as the puzzles get more complex, in order to make all the words fit, the developers have a deep habit of building from the center outwards. So by the time you’ve done a few hundred puzzles you know that the best way to crack each one is to focus on strings of letters wrapping around the outer edge, or forming a 3x2 box in a corner, because the words are almost always set up in that way. A lot more could have been done with criss cross patterns and who knows what all else to keep it about word recognition instead of pattern recognition.

Fun but don’t ever need to restore the app

I had to restore my phone which reloaded the app. This lost all my progress. They do have an option to link to Facebook as a way to back up your progress. But personally I don’t have a Facebook account I use. So a little fail. It also failed to remember my purchases. I bought something to remove ads when I first started playing. I’d have to say the ads are a. It intrusive but without having (non FB) support for restoring progress and purchases, it’s not worth using more and starting over. Should be 3 stars but I went with 4 stars for all the fun I had before the issue.

    Awesome game with words!

This word game is definitely one the best out there. It's very easy to navigate and maneuver. It also has a very clever color scheme about it. The best part is, is that you get to learn at the same time. Everything you just read that I wrote about was from three or four months ago. Now I'm giving this app a one star rating and that's because I have reached up to level 500 twice, to have been brought down to level one for no reason, no explanation from any support, much less anyway to contact support either. So if you like playing really hard games and reaching a high-level to have to start all over and over and get no satisfaction conquering it, then this game is for you. That's not how I am though. Maybe the game got scared that I was going to beat it fully. Also, be sure to check current version and all versions ratings. I'm on the top of both lists. This means I read it first when it came out, and first after it got updated.

Ads often hang the app with no way to exit after playing

I used to really enjoy this game, and would voluntarily play ads in thanks. (Playing ads generally awards hints or points with which hints can be purchased, but after years of play, I have thousands of accumulated hints so the ads don’t offer me any benefit.) My main frustration with this app is that in 2019, many ads hang the app with the close box never appearing at the end of play. Sometimes it appears that an ad is requiring a clickthrough to the App Store to the sales page for the advertised app, but even after complying, some ads don’t progress to conclusion. For that reason, I no longer play ads voluntarily. The number of mandatory ads has increased in this same time frame, so the app is still hanging frequently because of them. Sometimes when an ad does run to conclusion, clicking the close box launches another ad, and there may be several of these in sequence. I have not yet uninstalled it, but I no longer play daily, and I’ll keep an eye out for a better word game without bug-ridden ads in 2020.

    Mrs.

I have played this game for quite sometime - but I have always waited on the timeline for the free hint. I played when at the doctor’s office, waiting in the car, etc. - “free” time. I NEVER purchased hints (games are not that serious to me). I “assume” I accidentally hit purchase hints - which, again, I never have done. This app did not take me through a process where I could cancel the option (again, “assuming” I inadvertently hit the purchase option); it simply gave a check mark in a “done” circle with the words “your purchase was successful” and an “OK” to hit. I did not press “OK” and had to turn my phone off to get out of that screen. Then, after powering up, I selected the app to see if that purchase had been cancelled, since I did not press OK, but it had not been. How can hints be purchased without a purchaser providing financial info AND no option to cancel? What form of payment is being used? I will delete this app, and warn others against it, if unresolved. I DID NOT purchase hints and want to know what is being charged! Further, I order online frequently for clothing, home goods, etc., and legitimate sites (or sites with integrity) give an option to cancel a purchasing process AND gives a summary of the purchase including payment method. I did not receive such a thing and I never provided financial info on this app. I am very concerned.
