  • Frustrating bugs

    By Sillyhumins
This app is the most frustrating thing, Since downloading this app I have had 5 of the matches I had been talking to regularly completely disappear without reason, I figured I had been unmatched only for them to reappear in my matches days or even weeks later, and the entire conversation erased (for me, not for them). For 2 people who I had contacted everything looked normal on their end, except I had no other way to contact them. Is is super frustrating when you don’t have a way to reach other person due to a bug!! It also sends the totally wrong message and causes a lot of confusion. I’ve had this happen to me mid conversation as well. This is so unacceptable. It’s hard to tell if Tinder is negligently buggy or if this is the result of some gross social engineering experiment, I have no clue, but c’mon at this point it’s happened too frequently not to question the motives of a company that profits off you being single. If you think I’m going to pony up for a company that might be willfully making it difficult to get in touch with people you genuinely hit it off with or seed doubts about someone you are getting to know better, you are mistaken. I will not be renewing anything. **UPDATE** As expected my match shows up again days later with the conversation deleted from my phone but I can view it on my computer. Fix this!!! This is so wrong, what a sad excuse for a messaging platform. Totally wholly incredibly unacceptable. Straight up.
  • Tinder decent app

Tinder been around for as long as I can remember few updates here and there but for some reason has never managed to fix the like and time ratio. I live in a pretty big city so the ratio should be pretty decent but yet I get more gold likes and the. Proceed to never match anyone. Then I stretch out my distance and age still maybe get 1-2 matches and normally never hear back from anyone. Then I use all the swipes and have to wait 12 hours just to go through the same cycle again. You can add many new perks to the app but not fix something as common as this. The guys in this app obviously out number the women so why not give the actually guys a chance to pop up above the 100 messages the creepy guy just sent. Or give us a shorter time difference and not try to steal our money for the “gold benefit” which we both know ain’t no real benefit. I’ve deleted the app More time then I should have out of frustration but continue to come back for hopes something have changed.. so far I have 3 likes matched one and got my distance and age at 100 miles and 100 age still have yet to match the so called two other likes. You made global but not everyone once that perk so why not make it easier for the people who just want to stay local. Again decent app but still major flaws in your system and for love bob delete the accounts that are no longer active it’s just unnecessary clutter.
  • Banned for no reason

I got the app a few years ago originally as a joke but lately I get on when I’m bored and want to meet new people. I don’t leave my house often and when I do I’m generally too anxious to talk to anyone so tinder made it easier to talk to people. My profile was pretty random and full of jokes just so people could get a read on my personality. I didn’t want to match with people who wouldn’t have the same interests and humor as me so I made it clear what I was like in my profile. Originally I had a pretty normal profile so I thought maybe I got banned for something I put in my revamped profile but then I reviewed the terms of use and realized there was nothing in my profile that seemed to violate them (it would’ve been easier to know if they would’ve told me what I was banned for). I did however realize that 98% of the people in my area had been violating the terms of use and weren’t getting banned. Photos of dead animals are apparently one of the things you aren’t supposed to use on your profile. Every other guy in my area had photos of dead deer, ducks, and turkey. I had one DRAWN picture of 2 guys kissing fully clothed at the end of my profile while all these rural town guys have multiple pictures of dead animals on theirs and MY account is the one that gets banned. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I personally would rather see a stupid drawing pull up on someone’s profile than dozens of dead ducks or deer bleeding from their mouths.
  • Banned and got no help

Okay, so I recently redownloaded the app and had it for about two days. I even made plans to meet someone on it. It worked fine this morning and then I logged in this afternoon and was greeted with: “Your account was banned.” I’m really upset honestly. I’m worried that the guy will think I ghosted him and I don’t want to make him feel bad. I looked through everything carefully and know for a fact that I didn’t violate any terms or guidelines. I didn’t get a specific explanation for why I was banned or even a specific guideline that I supposedly broke. Also, the appeals system (or lack thereof) is important. People need to know specifically why their account has been banned and there should be an appeals process. What if there was a glitch in the system? An innocent person could be forever banned with no way to know why or get their account back. I won’t tell people that they shouldn’t download it, it’s one of the most popular apps out there and it’s pointless to advise against it. I am, however, very hurt and frustrated over the lack of support, explanation, and this horrible situation in general. Something is broken and needs to be fixed efficiently and in a timely manner. If this has happened to you, please say something because I know I’m not the only one and the more people who speak up, the more likely tinder is to help. There simply isn’t a great replacement for tinder and I would like to let that guy know that I didn’t ghost him.
  • Ban for no reason forever

    By luckybeard13
So I’ve been using Tinder on and of for few years, and after some break I decided to download it again. Since it’s been a while I decided to start fresh and create a new account. Big mistake! So you can delete your profile and Tinder even suggest you as one of the options why you deleting is “fresh start”, it only warns you that you will lose your matches and messages which is of course fine. No warning that you can be banned for life for doing that. So I delete my profile and immediately create a new one. I upload my pictures, so verifications and stuff. I sign up for a paid membership and spend money on boosts only to find out I get absolutely no likes in few days, so I google it to find out I am probably banned for re-creating my account. Again, no sings of it in the app, besides no matches. I am trying to reach support but it’s nowhere to be found, only on Reddit I find a link to a web contact form. So I message and get a generic robot response that my account was banned and there is no way to appeal. They refuse to give me any details of what rule I violated, I couldn’t find it in terms of use or community guide lines. When you using the app you see tons of fake and spam profiles they fail to ban yet they ban real people for no reason and decline any support to fix the situation. I never experiences before company treating their paid customer like that, it felt awful. Tinder, please give your customers some respect.
  • App doesn’t function as advertised, full of bots/spam.

The app allows you to set filters for age and distance, then completely disregards them. I am in my mid 20’s, and want to meet other people in their 20’s. I have my age limit set from 21-27, yet every other profile I see is for a 19 year old, 18 year old, or 30 year old. Additionally, I have my distance set to <30 miles, and have turned the “global” setting off (because if I’m looking to actually meet up, why would I want to match with someone 6,000 miles away?) and STILL, just about every other person is outside my distance radius. I live in a very populated city area, I know there are more people within 30 miles of me but tinder has decided I don’t want what I say I want, instead I apparently want what they want me to see. I used to pay for the app, but never again unless some serious quality improvements are made. Showing me people outside my radius doesn’t make me more likely to use tinder, it makes me think tinder is broken. Same goes for the age thing. I have also reported easily over 100 bots/spam accounts and it still is a huge issue - a liiitle bit more verification or something would be great. As it stands, bumble and hinge are much better services. Bumble is getting greedy, locking formerly free features behind a paywall, and Hinge doesn’t have as many users as Tinder or Bumble, but as far as the experience goes? The other two are much better than Tinder.
  • Banned for no reason...

I’ve used the app almost since the app first was created, and it has led to some decent dates and friendships along the way. I truly enjoyed the app (not so much the “match-and-silence/ignore” trend, but that falls on the user, not the app). I’ve posted rather silly pictures of my self fully clothed. I’ve never harassed anyone or pursued anyone beyond a clear ignoring of a message or unmatch. Not was my profile spam or fake in any way. I was instructed by the generic automated email when I reached out and all I was told is that I “violated the user agreement or terms of use” or something along those lines. When I checked those terms, there was not one thing that could be remotely close to any term that I’ve broken that I’ve done in the years of using the app. And when I replied back with elaboration, there was, of course, no response. They also stopped allowing appeals, so now I’m unable to get back on the app. There are other apps, I know. But this just doesn’t sit right with me - someone who uses the app only for it’s intended purpose and is not life banned for the app for no apparent reason, given no explanation, and no opportunity to fix it. This app was in the end a waste of my time and money (oh yeah, I subscribed multiple times to their advanced features to see who swiped on me because why not?) Beware any newcomer to this app that this is a fairly common issue on getting banned for no reason! Enjoy it whilst you can...
  • The Biggest Scam

    By justkeepinitreal.35
So here's the thing. Everyone knows that Tinder is one of the most popular dating apps today. Almost everybody I know uses it and it's crazy to deny the success of the app. HOWEVER, i will point out the biggest scam that this app does. Profiles are banned without any justifiable reason and when the people try to find out, they get a simple message saying that they just "violated the Terms of Use or Community Guidelines". (They don't even give a specific reason why, it's JUST THAT !!) The automated message is the same for everyone who is banned which means that no one is really running the customer support other than a machine. This app doesn't offer appeals to people who've been wrongfully banned which just means that the development team is too lazy to actually help someone bring their account back up. They up prices for the memberships and they barely do anything for you. Also, you don't get your money back if you get Tinder Gold and are banned permanently. This app can be so much better than what it is if the devs actually took the time to critically read these reviews from everyday people. Let us appeal to get our accounts back, have a better customer support system where we can talk to an ACTUAL person instead of an automated message, AND STOP INCREASING THE PRICES OF YOUR MEMBERSHIPS. You have millions of dollars from the people who use your app. Why don't you take that money and better the experience for consumers.

  • Lack of user support

    By ggrant_gg_
I’ve had an account with tinder for many years now. It’s been a great experience and I’ve met some friends and even had a few relationships from it over that time period. Yesterday I was on it and chatting with a few matches and then was off it for a few hours, when I went back on because I had a new message notification the app said my account had been banned but with no explanation for why it had been banned. I then reached out to customer service only to be told that they “can’t offer and appeal process at this time” and that my account is banned for good, still with no explanation of the cause. When I responded specifically asking for why it had been banned I was told that “Unfortunately, we cannot provide any more detailed information at this time”. I don’t understand how an app can has such poor customer service or lack of service to help users when this happens. I’ve gone over the guidelines and have no idea what would have caused this ban in the first place. Especially now that those matches probably think I’ve ghosted them which then makes me look bad and the simplest solution would be for tinder to implement a system to help their users. Until that happens I suggest anyone reading this to use an alternative app because from what I’m reading this happens to a lot of people at random times with no warning and no chance of getting it fixed/finding a solution.
