    Interesting game - KC

Enjoyable for me. Creation, building, and design of your own area seems fun. There's a draw to it. The interactions with settlers definitely adds much to the game. If game developers were to add more to this aspect especially with other towns and the possibility of creating other areas, I imagine there might be a greater interest than than there already is amongst other players. The other map option is interesting and definitely helps. Though, there are some curious aspects, i.e. energy levels staying constant as levels progress despite new tasks, and the time allotted to augmenting to new areas seems to increase largely with each instance - from 12 to 24 to 36 hours until the new area is ready for cultivation. And unfortunately, at times, and the purpose of me writing, the app won't load or shuts down. I understand it happens sometimes, but was wondering what the issue could be as I don't want to reload the app and lose current effort and work as has happened with other apps and games. If anyone knows a solution on how not to lose current status and on the shut down, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Love it, but...

I love this game, but when I first started playing it years ago it was I think much better!! The seasons changed in the game just like in the real world, so when it was winter in real life it was winter on the game, summer, it was summer. I also liked the fact that when you bought new land you didn’t have to wait like you do now, sometimes two days. I’m pretty sure I know why they did that though it’s so that you’ll spend real money to speed it up!!😡 Oh and I’d also like to know why it’s always snowing now!! The only other thing that I can think of that I don’t like it the fact that you can’t turn the buildings the way that you want to!! I still play the game but these are a few things that I wish they would change!!

    Give it where it's due...

I must admit, I have truly enjoyed playing this game. The platform is diverse and engaging - If one is of a mind to make use of all the gaming opportunities available within the platform and plan a strategy for future benefit. Bones: 1)Gonna take alot of time and energy to get that million in the sharp shooter game. 2)Seems no matter how high the level the player only gets 50 energy, might be cool to steadily increase energy with each level or every other level. 3)I don't wanna have to build a hideout for bad guys to progress the storyline - ha! Altogether a great product that has made for hours of downtime fun. Thanks! Dawnett Faucett Galveston, Texas

    Addictive

Been playing this game a few years now and all in all I enjoy it. I was looking for the old school Oregon Trail game and came across this in process. While I did play the newer version of Oregon Trail, not nearly as good as old one, this was more enjoyable. Some things in the older comments are still kind of issues such as clicking the compass point to move your items on the board. Sometimes the screen either won’t pick it up or it grabs your inventory chest instead or just doesn’t grab at all. Probably my issue is the structure setup. I build a structure and it might cost $1 million to build and I get $2300 to collect; however, another structure might cost $750k and I might collect $4300. It makes no since why something that cost less gives you higher return. The wait times on some structures don’t make since either. Some take twice as long as others, but what was paid for the structure different. For example, you pay $50k for structure X and $120k for structure Y, yet structure Y might take 6hrs to collect again and structure X might take a couple of days for the next collection. In the end, I do enjoy this game and you can play it without them forcing you to start paying for stuff to complete the challenges like others do and it’s held up well over the years it’s been available. It’s addicting and I’ve tried many others that turn out to be crap, and come back to this one.

    Good game but...

I love the game itself. It’s very addicting and I run out of energy way too fast! The mini games help to pass the time while you’re waiting for energy to refill. The biggest issue I’ve had with the game is restarting. As soon as it boots up, it closes. I have to reopen the game and it usually works the second time. The farther along I get into the game, the more often it does this. I just had to reopen it three times and restart my phone just to get it to work. It’s making it almost unplayable. I had this same issue 3 years ago when I tried to play it before and it’s still not fixed. I’ve tried on multiple devices so I don’t think that’s the problem. Another minor issue I have is with hunting the animals. It takes 3+ shots/energy just to hunt rabbits and the bigger animals use over 5 energy. I don’t have that much energy to waste so I never hunt. It would be nice to be able to hunt animals since that’s how pioneers got most food back then. Other than that though the game is great! I’m already level 25 and still leveling up fairly fast. It’s one of the best games I’ve played for iPhone!

    Some things I would want

I had this game for a little while and it is pretty fun. But I wish setting up your village would be easier. I would want to be able to remove all of my buildings so I don’t have to move everything around to make space for the others. I once played a game called Clash of Clans; their way of setting up your village was the best idea, I think. Another thing is that you need Facebook to connect with your friends. I don’t have anything like Snap Chat, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. I wish I could help my friends without having Facebook. Other than those two things, the game is the best I played. I am happy at how the company tried to make it.

    They fixed it!!!

They fixed most of the problems below except that it still costs dollars to complete some of the tasks. It's not frustrating any more. The sign to friends work. The whole game works!!!! I used to play this on pc. Love this game for iPad, but there's too many hiccups and crashes. Your friends list doesn't show. It hiccups every time I play it. The update made it worse. I don't Ike frustration. Update: they give you quests that require you to visit friends. Friends don't show up. Quests for things that must be bought with real money, or things your not high enough level to get. Update hasn't fixed anything. The worst customer service I have ever seen. No Internet connection when I try to log onto Facebook through the game....this is an iPad. I have wifi. Update: be prepared for connection issues when trying to visit your friends. They have fixed a few things, except it's 100 degrees outside now, and it's snowing in the game. Tried it in 2016, new IPad, on cellular, won't connect to others farms. Deleted.

    Update Said "Bug Fixes" Ironically...

UPDATE: so I reviewed when their "bug fix" update rendered it completely unusable. Today I see one for MINOR bug fixes and poof! It works now after SO much time of it being broken. You guys have an annoying sense of humor. Call it like it is guys, "fixing our screw up that broke the app". Or at least MAJOR bug fix. Anyway, works now. Well maybe. I just opened it and it only has one "energy". What the heck?? You could have done your "minor bug fix" earlier. Either way I upped it one star because when it works I like it. Do more frequent updates so I'm not buying Christmas stuff in the dead of Summer and I'll increase it :P Original Review: Well Ironically the update was said to be for "bug fixes" which I thought would fix the daily rewards chart but instead it CAUSED bugs. Big ones. Like ...not starting! Well guess this solves my addiction. Bye!

    Fun but need some work

There should be daily rewards for playing such as certain amount of free coins, hearts, and cash give when the game is played daily. Also there should be a free given amount each time you level up. Items that cost cash should convert to coins for purchase when you level up. You should do away with energy restoring or at least when played daily & when level up to next level give a certain amount such as 10 energy. Land expansion should take 24 to 48 hours max. There’s a problem with crashing on a regular. Daily bounds gifts are not given daily when played. Surprises are the same need to switch that up and actually when real prizes such as homes and stores. Fix crashing problem when visiting friends and nearby towns.

    It’s cool and all BUT...

My energy runs out quickly, I have yet came across a way to EARN cash rather than paying for it with my real money smh... It would be so much better if the game wasn’t fixated on getting people to purchase “cash”, especially during this pandemic we are in. Also, I don’t like the fact that they are forcing you to use FB or “your friends” as the only option to earn prizes for visiting their town. I have invited people to play and nobody was interested. The creator behind this should make it to where those who are in fact playing this game can link up and be neighboring towns. Overall it’s a bittersweet game. It just need a little more improvement to make this game more addictive.

    Money sink

This is one of those “every action costs energy + energy costs IRL $” games. Some games like that are still fun and playable without needing to spend your IRL $, but this one is so ridiculously weighted in favor of the developers getting your money that it’s just not worth playing. You can only make 25 actions before your energy run out. That might take 2 minutes for you to do. Welp, now you have to wait an hour and 15 minutes for your energy to fill...or you could spend 10 game-dollars (which cost $1.99 IRL) for enough energy to perform 10 actions. Which you could use up in 30 seconds of gameplay. Are you really going to keep spending money or waiting an hour+ to play a game for a couple of minutes at a time? It’s not like those minutes are spent in ecstasy, either— the game’s not that fun, y’all. (You tap on things to harvest resources; it’s not like an arcade game or FPS where at least your adrenaline gets pumping.) Not worth it, IMO. Also, the music is annoying and the control to turn its volume down doesn’t work for some reason.

    Not clickable

This game is fun and there are lots of different things to play and do from fishing to shooting to farming! However trying to click on anything is the worst! I am always accidentally chopping trees and not being able to click the envelopes if the person is standing behind anything, I was just trying to fish and could not reel it in no matter how much I clicked, and I know it's not my phone as my phone is 1 week old, brand spanking new! Also if you plant a tree you should be able to move it around! And when you click to do tasks they should show up in a list so you can control them individually instead of just putting a stop to everything! I can't see how many people are in my town, or what the heck the smiley faces are and how many means good or bad! There are lots of holes in this game but if those were fixed it would be a fun game!

    Really love it until....

Love playing the game and have gotten to level 80+ twice and both times as soon as I have gotten to that level the crossroads mini game fails to load and it never comes back. The first time it failed I waited and tried launching it for 2 weeks with no luck (each time I select it the screen changes and begins one bars of checking for updates and then closes out the whole app). I finally decided to just restart the whole thing from scratch. The mini game worked like a charge until level 82 and again same glitch. Very frustrating especially this time as I had just bought $120 in cash, which I can still spend but to be honest the game is too boring without that mini game to be any fun 😔. Won't try to restart again.

  • By Bigba2k4

I’ve played the game and will be honest

The problem with how you can touch the icons is a problem but seems very intentional. It is the click bait of apps. I have spent the money to buy the extra cash and hearts. It actually makes the disaster last worse. Pay attention to a couple of things. It will tell you to add the stations to help avoid disasters. Don’t do it. You can’t delete or sell those buildings. You feed them cash and it does nothing. In fact the whole thing with you have to tap constantly to get something to work makes you accidentally tap the wrong things and you will accidentally spend cash. It’s such a bad way to make money on an app. Here is the thing to be careful of. Do not just tap on things. Look at everything before you do. It is meant to get you to buy more land to spread things out. That way you can tap on the crops without hitting another building. You will constantly have things come up so you will need more resources. Just play the game without spending your money and it can be fun. Be careful. It’s just an app developer trying to pull a little cash with a decent product. You can do fine if you don’t tap constantly like it try’s to get you too.
