Fun game
This is a fun game… like another commenter said, the surprise at the top of the hill was nice. And I’d agree with all the positive things said in other reviews so I won’t rehash them here. So as far as suggestions… maybe a “double-tap” so the character moves faster. Some of the resources are much more difficult to come by than others. Maybe the ability to upgrade ore mines if you wanna grind for one specific resource. There doesn’t seem to be a storyline, maybe that was intended… not asking to add one if this is what the developers were shooting for to keep the game simple. Right now it seems the point is to keep leveling up, and watch ads for bonuses (I’d pay to have that stop). Or maybe that’s the point… the developers are making their money through the ad views, and the game works as it is to get the player to watch ads. It’s not as bad as other games that force ad views, which is why those games get deleted quickly. Here you have to make the choice to click the ads to cut resource grind time, and maybe that’s the psychological trick. I’d like to see maybe some achievements… like finding hidden items or places, and maybe ad an idle element to the game, maybe you can hire a character to mine some stuff while you are offline. Other than that… nice and simple fun game.
Not bad
It’s a fun little game to relax and take your mind off of things. It’s simple enough to not need a tutorial to figure it out and rewarding enough to make you want to keep exploring. Only negative thing I have to say is that I feel like once you reach the part where all you need are bones and that special rock you can only farm in the house, the island itself seems useless. I think I’d like to see a little objective list like kill 10 skeletons and receive 20 wood, kill 50 and receive 100 wood and so on just to feel a little more progression as opposed to just the levels of your tools. Oh and an elevator/checkpoint style so I don’t have to go down 15 flights of stairs every time I want to farm that specific rock in the basement of the house.
Love the game, very fun
In a world populated by fermium and pay to win games this was a refreshing breath of fresh air. It walks the perfect balance between intuitive controls and explaining stuff with a tutorial that is straight to the point. The difficulty curve always keeps you on your toes so that just as you start to feel as though you’ve done everything you discover a new building or tool to work towards. If I had one improvement I’d like to see it would be a way to distinguish between the things you can harvest and the ones you can’t without having to interact with them and memorize where they are, perhaps a darker leaved tree or a discolored rock
Gteat game! but too short.
Hello I am writing this review because I Really like this game. This game is very fun because you have to grind alot and makes your time pass really quick! I am almost finished with this game. I spent about 3 hours on this game and I am already very close to beating it. My suggestion is to make a game called Largeislandsurvival. I think the suggestion could make a big impact on your company. The first reason is players will spend more time playing the game. The second reason is players will have more fun and have to grind much more. The third reason is the game will become much more popular. Thank you for reading my suggestion.
All Positives
I haven’t made it through the game yet. (I actually came to look for tips for a part of the game) I rarely review games, mostly because I lose interest very quickly. But, this developer deserves one. This is exactly the type of game I enjoy. It gives a Stardew Valley feel, which is great. No time constraints, quick pop up ads & worthwhile rewards for additional ads, simple gameplay but challenging at the same time, free to play (although I would pay for it), & pleasing artwork and audio. Keep it up! I’m going to check out your other games and look forward to seeing more.
Cute, fun, great pacing
This game is pretty simple, but it’s super cute and kind of relaxing to play. Everything in this game is done so well. The art style, the animations, the ad breaks, and especially the pacing of everything. The ad breaks are like every 5 ish minutes which is SO nice compared to other mobile games. You actually get to play the game between the ads! There are reward ads too, but again only every 5 ish minutes, which I feel is a good amount of time between them so you don’t make too much progress too fast. The cool-downs of the harvestable items is timed perfectly. It doesn’t take too long to advance in the game, but you still have to work at it. I really like that the time for heart regeneration stays the same even when you get more hearts. Overall, a great little game. I would love to see maybe character customization, events of some kind, and more islands to travel to (if that’s not already in the game, I’m not that far). Love it!
MORE!!!!
I started this game not expecting much, except something to pass the time when I was bored! … Honestly I’m a lil disappointed! Not in the game but just for watching ads as often as I did to gain resources faster! Once you reach a certain point it does take a lil bit longer to make progress, but it was such a wonderful experience!!! Adorable design, fun yet simple gameplay, and the ending was wonderful!!! I’m very excited for more to come and I hope it’s a big update when it does because I’m very invested in what this game offered!
Overall
The game itself is amazing and very entertaining that I played a lot of it non stop, however there’s 1 bug I’ve had shown while playing, if your character rest and wakes up there’s a chance that when you mine something it won’t take away a heart, then after everything’s done you have a heart in your bar that is only showing and you can’t use. Other then this small flaw this game was well made and was personally entertaining, it also reminds me of another game called Forager
Fun, But I love The Ads
It’s a fun game if you have patience and are into tycoon leveling-up type games. It gets repetitive but I enjoy it. I usually don’t write reviews but I wrote one here because I love how they do their ads. They don’t force you to watch any but they’ll sometimes play while your character sleeps to regain health. They’re never longer than maybe five seconds before you can close them. I love supporting developers but I hate when they shove ads in your face, so I really like what they did here.
Fun grindy game
Hey everyone it’s E here, This game was pretty enjoyable and had some unique gameplay elements that work well for a mobile game experience. The first half of the game was a great ramp up/tutorial as it introduced all of the concepts of elements, hearts, tools, and enemies. And really got you prepared for the surprise at the top. Completing this part wasn’t terribly difficult or slow but it was just slow enough that I felt like the top became a longer term goal. And getting to the top after a while felt quite rewarding. *spoilers* The second half of the game turns into a very pleasant dungeon crawler with a simple but really difficult to perfect combat system. From this point forward it becomes a very grindy slow game, which is quite fun if one enjoys that style of game. It’s nice how I could hop on the game and chip away at the goal bit by bit and upgrade by upgrade. Using the bonus mechanic really is the fastest way to complete the game, as it shaves off significant time from many of the upgrades and can seriously cut down on the grind time of the game. But this mechanic is completely optional which was nice, although when I was close to an upgrade sometimes the Bonuses we’re welcome with open arms. Will be waiting for the updates as I think this game has a lot of potential. Overall I’m feeling a light 7/10
When is the next update?
I very much enjoyed this adorable game. The only things I felt would further improve this would be maybe adding a sprint option that isn’t infinite but maybe for 2-3 step bursts with a recharge time of 5-7 seconds? Maybe make it so you don’t have to go down into the dungeons for resources. You could possibly make it so the mines above land are able to be upgraded but not giving as often. Also the goblins and skeletons that come out of the hidden shack could maybe try to destroy the fences that are put up so it’s not so easy as just putting a fence up and it solves the issue permanently. I’m also very eagerly awaiting the update that has further game progression.
Great Game - Very Grindy Late Game
Game has a lot of unique mechanics to it, the progression is great up until a certain point. Definitely would pay to have Ads removed to acquire bonuses/rest in the tent. I think what would ultimately button up this game is allowing you to build a blacksmith and bed in the cottage so that you don’t have to leave the cottage completely to refill hearts. This would take a lot of the grind out of what I would call the last third of the game. Maybe also add in a craft system, so that you can take a few pieces of iron to make the next item, etc. Obviously only where applicable. With the above updates this is easily 5*.
A little idea
It’s a great game it’s just extremely annoying having to wait and getting 1 iron/sliver at a time even in the dungeon stuff it’s just really annoying getting enough resources to upgrade cause it takes so long so I think it would make the game a lot more entertaining and would personally keep me into it for much longer if there was a way to start to multiply the amount you get from mining it if this is in the game please lmk but that’s just something I think would make the game much more entertaining and keep people playing but overall it’s a very fun mobile game that I’ve been enjoying great job !
Great game!
I love it, its super relaxing and fun, but can be exciting to explore as well. I had an awesome time playing and exploring the game. I just have a few critiques. Once you start getting to the near end, it becomes a little tedious having to run up and down so much. Its super relaxing and definitely held my interest the whole way through, although I do wish the fighting was a little bit more refined, a lot of times i found myself taking damage where I shouldn't have because my character stands still even when i click for him to run away. I have to tap multiple times to get him to listen if i want him to run, and it ends up making him take unnecessary damage. Hopefully in the update the new area is a little bit more diverse and you can explore more instead of the same thing over and over (trying my best to not give anything away) Overall it is 100% worth playing and im happy i finished it.. cant wait to see what happens in the update!
