    Everything I ever wanted

I have been waiting for the longest time to have a mobile solution for this game. I never had enough time to really dive in on the desktop version seeing as the only time I was ever on my computer was during work hours. I spend most of my gaming time on my phone and this is the absolute perfect solution. The game is so detailed and fun I find myself playing every single opportunity I can. While the ratings and simulations aren’t perfect when measured against real life, in a vacuum they work out so accurately. The only thing you need to do in this game is to allow yourself to detach from your real world feelings of certain players. For instance, I have a ton of loyalty to Dansby Swanson on the Braves but in this game, he flat out does not perform consistently better than Johan Camargo. So, as long as I can separate myself from real life this game never disappoints.

    Incredible Again!

OOTP Developments have nailed their product once more, producing by far the most in depth, quality, and enjoyable mobile sports simulator game available. This game is an excellent way to introduce new players to the franchise and get people involved in Perfect Team for free. While the app does not currently possess all of the features of the desktop game, that will change in the feature as the company has a 5-year goal to catch it up completely. However, frequent crashes, particularly for older devices, seem to be a problem and should be the focus in the short term. That said, be sure to save your games frequently in the meantime users to prevent large data loss from crashes. Overall however, the game blows away the competition at release with plenty of exciting things to look forwards to on the horizon.

    Incredible

If you are not familiar with the long-running desktop game Out Of The Park Baseball, you cannot possibly appreciate what an amazing accomplishment it has been to implement this game in a mobile version. OOTP is the most comprehensive, accurate, customizable, amazing simulation sports game you will ever encounter. It is now available with almost every important feature on your iPad or iPhone, AS A FREE DOWNLOAD. And you can buy the 2021 MLB season for $4.99. This is a $40 game on desktop! Play this game. You’re going to absolutely love it once you gain comfort with the navigation of the screens. If you’re used to the desktop version and don’t want to fire up your laptop or sit at your computer desk, this is a dream. Thank you OOTP Developments!

Now all this amazing baseball can be with me on the go!

This downloadable game was my escape during Covid - the Perfect Team mode where you build your own teams from among the all time greats, adjust your lineups and strategies, and play against other managers is a blast. You play an entire season on a week (April on Monday, May on Tuesday) with head to head sims every 30 minutes till you vie for the championship on Sundays. Win and you advance to the next level - or if you flail you get regulated to a lower tier. This is the game for stat geeks and a way to esports without the twitchy timing button smash of other games. So much depth to this game - take a spin, join the community on Discord and Twitch to unlock the full depth!

    Wow!

This exceeded my expectations. I’ve heard a lot about OOTP desktop and debating buying it, but always held off because of the cost and I’m rarely on my cpu. I knew it was coming to mobile, but thought it would be similar to the old OOTP mobile from a few years ago. It’s not. It’s 100X’s better. I was seriously skeptical and this has blown my mind. The depth in this game is incredible and somehow it still works on mobile. The game modes between Perfect Team, Tournaments, Draft Tourneys, Historical and Fictional Leagues gives tons of play time. …and for free?!?! Hats off to the guys over at OOTP, I’m hooked. To anyone debating…give it a shot. It’s unlike anything else on the App Store. Incredible!

    bugs

I am going to rate this 5-star because i’m absolutely addicted to both the PC and Mobile versions of the game. However, i have come across an annoying bug. I started a league and expanded it a few seasons in and now every time i try to view my schedule, the game crashes and sends me back to my home screen. Other than that bug i haven’t experienced anything else, probably an easy fix. but i love both versions of the game and i’m glad i can have it when i’m at home and on the go!

Great, need just a few more features

Absolutely great OOTP experience. However I use comish mode often to fix some things and some of those features are not present. The ability to manually edit contracts and move players from team to team is very important to fix some occasional silliness, (like all IFA refusing to sign with your dynasty even though you offered them the full 5 mil or when you accidentally add an extra 0 to a contract extension) those need to be in game soon, as well as force trade. Give me that and the ability to edit financials and market size and y’all are 5 stars. Edit 1: there also needs to be a separate playoff roster option. I shouldn’t need to release a utility player who I wanted in the regular season but couldn’t make the cut for the playoffs if he refuses to be demoted.

    Good, needs a few tweaks

I love that I can play this on my IPad 8th gen now. It’s very similar to the desktop version. It runs well except for a few crashes here and there. They happen less often with no other apps open in the background, but it still sometimes would happen, so save often. Another issue I have is I feel the generated players aren’t very good. Don’t see any superstars in the draft and pitching heavily favors relievers. Too much actually. Generated relievers could be toned down and starters could be boosted a bit for parity. Lastly I need sabermetrics added into the game Pleaseeeee :) Thank you love the game, 2021 for 5 bucks is a fair deal.

    Great app, one knock

First off, I’ve played OOTP Baseball on PC since ‘15 or ‘16. If you love baseball simulations and have a PC, that’s a wonderful game. So far I love the OOTP Baseball Go app. A few adjustments to make going from PC to mobile as a user, but the layout is well done. Having a free game in hand or having the option to buy the current season rosters for $5 (or historical for 99¢) is a pretty great deal. My only knock is this…I assumed their would be iCloud saves between my iPhone and my iPad. My thinking being, check it on my lunch at work on my iPhone 12 mini, but mainly play on my iPad for the larger screen. That’s probably my biggest disappointment. Would be an awesome feature for the future, as I’m not going to run two different mobile saves. Game runs smooth on my iPhone, no hiccups. OOTP forums (and subreddit) are there for great support too, not something all simulation apps can say. It’s a plus product with one main flaw. I can live with that.

This is a great addition to OOTP

I love the go and play style to it. It doesn’t take too much energy from my phone and I can spend tons of time in my Fictional League. It runs great with the exception of some wins being counted as losses and vice versa. And the menu interface isn’t 100% comfortable but then again this is a game where tons of information needs to be available at one given moment. If menus were to improve in functionality and how it fits on a mobile screen, this would get a 5 star. QUESTION - Is there a way to export stats?

Great Series, but a few bugs

Just like to start by saying that I love this series. Purchase all of them here and on the computer every year. But this version has some issues. For starters, the draft order changing from the set order in year one makes no sense. As that order was already predetermined and should be set for year one. Second, trade deadline should be easier to Maneuver, instead of just going past it while there are pending trades. Older versions would pause the game until all requests had been settled on that day. Third, the fair play/ AI settings seem off a little, I have seen some references to it by others. Home runs by players who haven’t hit any all year or a bevy of errors that let the other team into a game, or the most annoying, the lack of double play attempts. When clearly they could have gotten the out per the animations. And lastly, I am not sure if it’s just my inability to find it, or if it was truly an oversight, but being able to turn off the in game sound effects. I have been unable to locate audio anywhere on the settings and menus. While this complaint looks long, many of these are minor and while nuisances, will not stop me from playing the game (yet). Thank you devs.

Great until it crashes, which it does frequently

Game crashes randomly and frequently. Was playing game 7 of the WS and was up 13-2 in the 8th inning, so I was thinking I pretty much won the game and the series. Then the game crashes, and I have to restart the entire game cause it doesn’t save anything while playing the game. Ends up losing 4-0 instead. Crash costed me a WS trophy. This wouldn’t be an issue if the game saved while you’re playing in a game, say every inning or half inning, but no, it forces you to restart the entire thing. Also for new players I would recommend to save frequently in the inaugural draft if you do it. Cause it crashes frequently in there (like every 10-15ish rounds). Outside of the crashes, it’s a great game, but the crashes are really ruining the game for me if it continues to cost me games I would’ve won.

I Luv OOTP On My MAC, This Needs Visual Improvements!

What I have is an iPad Pro with an M1 chip, the gameplay graphics are almost an after thought!! The visual gameplay is primitive and raggedly leaps to new screen views even with the M1 chip. Trying to emulate an arcade baseball game is not nearly sufficient. An improvement would have the game graphic scenes closer to the play action of the baseball’s movement. Honestly a static baseball field like Diamond Mind’s would be preferred! The action graphics are that sad to view. Wanna pit two great historical teams against one another? The game makes this tremendously difficult. Wanna replay a great World Series? Or replay past All-Star games? Those are difficult to do, time needed is excessive. Personally I most enjoy listening to a great game announcer color the action, ala Vin Scully, Dizzy Dean, Mel Allen, Ernie Harwell, Jack Buck, and Harry “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” Carey. Emulating a great announcer to call a game must be easier than creating outstanding visual game action! I will try to love this app because I love baseball, and I do NOT play arcade baseball games!

    Great premise awful AI

Great game idea, nice to finally see this on a phone but the AI absolutely kills this game. The devs seriously need to work on balanced AI, so many things that happen just make no sense. 95% of pitchers have a 5+ ERA, stats, ratings, top tier players mean absolutely nothing. No matter what the matchups are you will constantly get hammered by the CPU when in play mode vs sim mode. The CPU teams will always hit multiple home runs, even from their worst players that have hit zero homers until you play them, your highest rated players will lead the league in strikeouts, the CPU will get timely hits anytime they need against your best pitchers (almost always a HR or Double to the gap). All of this holds true regardless if you manage play by play or let the AI make your decisions. I have even gone as far as trading for all top tier players on hot streaks as soon as they hit your team they have all the same struggles. This game is borderline unplayable until they fix the AI balance issue.
