Its great!:)Cant wait for future updates!
I adore The Witcher and me and my boyfriend have been waiting for this game for months! The game is really fun and takes practice which is good! Its not overly easy and takes time to learn how to parry, and kill the monsters. Theres quite a variety of monsters too and I love how they have all the oils and potions!! With that being said I think there needs to be a little more stuff! I think it would be cool if monsters appeared like in your little circle and not all across the screen? I think it would make it a little more adventurous and almost like they are ambushing you, or that you’re looking for them. Id also really like to customize my sword and add whatever runes I want to it and I really think we should also get a silver sword at the start of the game! We only get a steel sword and It takes a bit to get a silver one. I hope to see some cool updates and events in the future!
Better than expected
Honestly impressed by this game, and quickly became very addicted. Unlike Pokémon Go, this game has me exploring new areas of my city, and going further and further abound each day. I’ve already seen physical improvement! Very happy as a fan, great work guys!! Only complaints/issues: game crashes a lot, even on my relatively newer phone. I understand that the game is new, and bugs need to be squashed, so I didn’t let that effect my rating. One issue that is a little concerning is that quests spawn in areas I can’t physically or legally get to. Once the quest has been accepted from the NPC you can adjust the location, but not before. The battles against elite enemies are impossible early on, unless you have potions, bombs, and oils. That makes a lot of sense, but they spawn too frequently at early levels. More non elites should spawn for low level players, and then as the player grows in level, so too do the enemies. Just a few suggestions! Thanks for all your hard work, keep the content coming and I’ll be a fan for life!
Addicting but needs an update!
I absolutely love this game! It is so addicting and incredibly fun. My boyfriend and I play it for hours walking around our neighborhood. Only thing is the app crashes like CRAZY it almost makes it unenjoyable. Before you go into battles the app crashes, which is incredibly infuriating. There are major bugs and glitches in it as well. When it comes to collecting herbs or even getting credit for monsters you’ve killed it won’t show up. It’s a great app so far but I’m very excited for future updates! Hopefully ones that will straighten out those kinks and make for a more efficient app.
Crashing Fix
I initially left a review giving this 1 star because the game was crashing every 30 seconds. I was able to play it for two days perfectly before that happened. The fix that worked for me was creating a sign in so my progress would save, then deleting the app and reinstalling it. It’s worked perfectly since then. (I wish I could go back and edit my old review 🤷🏻♀️) I really enjoy this game, but I’m a HUGE Witcher nerd, so take that into account. I love the different monsters, skill tree, fighting mechanics, and the fact that there is a quest line. I’ve found this more entertaining than Pokémon go.
Pokemon Go away
The Witcher AR game takes what Pokemon Go has done and improves on it significantly. The game is locked behind skill and a grind, not RNG. Equipment does not seem prohibitively expensive, although I would like to see the player start with a Silver Sword as well as a Steel Sword. In addition, a faction system based on the Witcher schools of thought would be a welcome addition to this game. Not everyone wants to be a Wolf. I'm Manticore for life and i'd like to be able to see that at play in the npc dialogue and the future player-to-player interaction that I have to hope is being worked on. Bottom line, it's free! What've you got to lose?
great start so far!
I really love it so far! I love how it has an actual quest line tied to it where you have to walk around to complete tasks. Only thing I wish was different is changing it so you can relocate a quest regardless of the distance. Sometimes, even though the location seems close, it’s in a very inconvenient spot. This has only happened once so far, but I’m still hoping we can change it so you can relocate regardless of distance. Other than that, I love it!!
Almost Perfect
The game is well made, and I love it so far. I know it is fairly new and hopefully, devs will improve it. My reason for the 4 stars rating instead of five, is the same issue as someone’s else review. Main story quests spawns in areas I can’t or should not have access legally (private property, farms, etc). One fix to this might be the ability of spawning the quest in a different area, if I travel somewhere else. An example of that is, the quest spawns in a private property that I cannot access, then I go to the mall, and same quest spawns in an area I can access. Also, it will be nice a little higher of spawning rate for herbs. Once these 2 things gets fixed, I will change my review. Overall, great game.
Has Potential to be a Great Game
Big fan of the Witcher, big fan. I automatically love this game, it’s fun, it’s new, it needs work. The interface when you click on the wolf medallion crashes my game each time, I couldn’t even tell you what is supposed to happen when you click on the lower left corner. But besides that, I’m having no issues. It’s fun, it’s going to be consistently updated. Remember how Pokémon go was when it was released? Yeah, exactly! Give the devs time, the bumps will be smoothed out. I’m awaiting the future of this game! (But please fix the medallion crashing thing because I wanna know what it’s about)
Great game with a lot of potential
If you like AR games and the Witcher series then you’ll probably enjoy this game. I think the combat is really well done and the visuals are great. I enjoy the difficulty of the game because, it helps keep you interested in the inevitable grind to level up. It has a lot of potential to be great. There is a few things they can do better and there are a few bugs which is kind of expected in the first few weeks. Hopefully they add the ability to battle alongside your friends and fix issues with quests being located in bad spots. Overall, I really recommend this game.
Play for free? Right, lol.
Everyone who has delved into the Witcher knows silver swords are essential for monster hunting, yet you start off with a steel sword. You will have to face “medium” difficulty creatures and get your but kicked because parrying only cuts down the damage you take by a bit and you need to craft a lot of items to make it through the encounter. Now you can’t find those items unless you actually go out and drive around because you need to kill a lot of monsters to get enough materials for just one potion or oil. And hopefully you don’t blow it else you have to start over. But don’t worry, pay some money and you can have all the items magically given to you. If it’s going to be a grind fest, stop giving people the easy way out. If it’s not meant to be a grind fest, then stop making it so almost necessary to buy coins. This Pokémon go pseudo clone needs work.
I want to see this game blow up
i can tell this will be a fun game as more attention is put into it after the soft launch. Here are the glaring issues after reaching level 5 1)crashing. my app will crash when going through loading screens. for example when a quest scene is about to be played. or if im getting a trophy from a monster for the first time. especially when I’m on data 2)quest locations and navigation. noted from others on reddit and my own personal experience, quests will take the player through private property with no way to circumvent. additionally, the direction the pc faces is inconsistent making it hard to tell where I need to walk. 3) battery playing this game on data starting with my phone fully charged will entirely deplete my battery life within an hour. This has been noted by other players as well. request for better gameplay in general; I think landmarks in the game interface similar to other AR games would make quests and monster hunting much more enjoyable and less confusing and challenging. Ive been walking and driving back and forth trying to figure out where the game wants me to be to access a monster or quest. with frequent crashes on data and quick battery depletion it really kills the fun.
Has potential
As a fan of the Witcher I was excited to pick up this game. I think it could end up being really good, it has a nice frame work for it. My issue I’m running into is the mission goals where you’re tracking down a goal. Unfortunately they’re popping up in areas that aren’t open for just a random person to walk in. So it means completing the mission is inaccessible. If the game devs could find a work around for this I think it could really help the enjoyment. Maybe over time the goal will move if the player doesn’t go to it. Or maybe the player can somehow notify the game that it’s placed in a location they can’t reach so it can be moved. This could maybe used once a day? Something like that so people aren’t forced to not continue the game or trespass.
Was excited for this but….
I was so excited for this. But updates need to be made. I am also a big Pokémon go fan as well but this game is definitely a 2 star compared to my 5 star review for Pokémon. Some things I would like to see updated in this game are 1.) I wish that the monsters I see on my map that aren’t in my radius I could click on and battle. (I can see them but can’t battle then when I click on them since they aren’t close enough. Pretty lame…) 2.) I can see herbs all of my map but once again they aren’t close enough so when I click them I can’t collect them….. again lame. 3.) maybe incorporate like a campaign for Witcher training to level up more and get more skills points quicker and improve skills more to fight the griffin for the first task….. 4.) maybe introduce “Witcher huts” to possibly be able to leave/drop unwanted ingredients (herbs, roots, etc…) for other players. And have dummy’s to battle in the huts to gain more skill points or hit achievements. 5.) have an achievement list of random in game bonuses you can get when you do some many fast attacks, string attacks, blocking attacks, killing monsters, trophies earned, etc….. to get money for completing the tasks, or more skill points….. These are just a few of my thoughts that I think should come to the game…. Please consider. Thanks!
Fun idea, could use work.
The game has great ideas, but falls short on actually letting you be a Witcher. You don’t have a silver sword. Want one? Buy it. The character customization is almost nonexistent. The range your character has to interact could be expanded, even if it through leveling. The blocking and strong attacks get mixed often enough to be aggravating. I understand the need to make money. Sell the coins, but have a way to grind them as well. Sell the inventory pouches. Sell another alembic, not a temporary one either. No one, and I mean no one, wants to buy a temporary item. The different weapons and armor all have different effects, but do they offer more attack or defense? No way to know that I’ve seen. None of these things are hard to implement and will make the game so much better. Otherwise, I see it falling into the wayside like Magus and the Harry Potter AR game.
