Why Not Make a Board Game?

Such a fun game. The only thing missing is playing with family and friends. I think this could be a great family board game. Turn based, where players rack up points when they play. Anyhow, if i got off my butt and manifest a physical Woodoku board game and it gets big; I hope you guys are cool. 👍✌

      Ok

Been playing for a while and notice the same things that I see in the reviews. One thing I have noticed is that when the add for the football thing pops up it makes you click it and once you get to the app and press done it no longer automatically goes back to the game. There is no X so that you can close it manually. It’s a fun game but becomes repetitive and blocks you in as stated by others. I enjoyed playing for a while but noticed the flaws quickly. I deleted the app after this review.

      Great game for the brain

However, I think this needs an undo button, just undo at least one move. Like other players I see making reviews the randomization of the blocks does not seem to be very random. It gives you the complete of opposite of the blocks you need near to the end of the game and it makes you lose. I’ll keep trying to solve it but this game needs more helpful features. I will keep it for now!

      Doesn’t seem random

It’s a very addicting game, but also frustrating. I agree with the last reviewer totally. As the game progresses, it refuses to give you even one shape you need to keep going. It boxes you in. As the game progresses and the space gets tight, it never gives you the small shapes you need to clear an area to keep going. I can always tell when I’m screwed. Once I get to about 700 points it starts giving me the opposite of what I need and starts giving me 4 or 5 block diagonal shapes etc. I have never started a fresh game and been given a diagonal shape. If it were truly random I assume I’d get a variety of shapes throughout the game. I also notice anytime I need an L shape or a single block deep into the game I never get those. It’ll give me a backwards L that I can’t use over and over. If you play it enough you’ll notice right away.

      Love all but one thing

I LOVE this game. My husband and I both play it every day. There are constantly new puzzles and we compete to see who can get farther at on the Weekly Journeys. I just have one problem, ADS. There are so many, one after every single try. If I lose in 3 moves I have to watch an ad to play again. If I play for a full minute, I spend at least a quarter of it if not half watching ads. Of course I got a message today saying I need to allow the game to track me. Right now, the game won’t open, because I have all my tracking turned off. I would be willing to pay for the game, I love it that much, but the ads are driving me crazy. Even if it does allow me to play again, I’m afraid I will end up deleting it because of the amount of ads.

      The App Taunts You!!

Thus is a good game, but I REFUSE to give it five stars because, in SPITE of what the developer says, it lets you have a little succes, thenit makes SURE to give you block combinations that are usually the OPPOSITE of what you need, or always entirely too large to fit in the remaining open squares! I managed to score 3000 pts early in my playing, and since then, it usually waits til I’m right at about 1000 points and it strikes—first giving THREE hard combinations to fit, making your board impossible to work with, and THEN toying with you and giving you block combinations that are either the WRONG mirror of what you need, or that are always just ONE block off what will fit!! They SAY it’s “random,” but when it happens time after time I have a really hard time believing......VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!

      Note to developers

This game is great but it burns through my battery. Unsure why, with a brand new phone and no other apps open I can almost watch the battery life drain. (This was my biggest concern) Secondly, I’ve noticed on a few journey games that the tiles are not randomized after the first set of tiles. After failing a level several times I noticed a pattern. Maybe it was because I was on airplane mode or it’s just preset, I don’t know, but it just felt like it was the reason I was getting sets of tiles that were not placeable. Thirdly the frequency of ads are a little much. I understand the ads and I’m okay with them but there should be an ad cool down or something.

      Fun, but limited

I play this quite a bit. It’s a good way to destress and there’s no commitment in that I have to keep playing to progress. It’s just a simple way to play one-off games and try to top my high score. But, I do agree there seems to be a problem with the pieces you get as your score increases. The diagonal pieces for example, which I hate, seem to start appearing after you get past 500 points or so. Small pieces tend to appear less frequently at that point. I mean you can say it’s random, but you can always give the application more of certain pieces to randomly choose from and less of others.

      Challenging but…..

I’ve played the game for a couple of months now, and really enjoy the daily puzzle and the journey puzzle. That comes with a couple of caveats….. (The reasons for 4 stars) 1. I agree with others that the game tends to block wins in that it won’t give you the pieces you need to complete the puzzle. 2. The ads… I don’t mind an ad that finishes and sends me back to the game…much….However, more and more I have to exit the game to get the ad to go away. I’d pay to remove all ads. If that’s an option, I haven’t found a way to do it yet. Otherwise, it an addictive and fun game.

Designed to capture then frustrate the simple minded.

Yes, that describes me. If you can relate, do not get this game for more than three days. It will quickly capture your attention then almost as quickly frustrate you to wanting to play another game to better your score. Day one, about 10 games in, I scored 1084. Days 2 &3, the closest I got to that was about 750 a couple times. I know realize that early in the games you will receive a few 2&3 block pieces. Then after that, those are provided VERY rarely and never when needed most, when the board is nearly filled in. By this time, there will be many small 1, 2, & 3 piece pockets that need filling. IF you get a small piece, 9/10 times it will be facing the wrong direction which makes it either useless or another piece required to be placed where you want/need to keep it open. It’s a scam to hook you, then keep you playing by manipulating our minds’ inherent desire to always want to do just a bit better. So enjoy it for a few short days. Then when you find it takes 50 games to beat your previous high score, realize the scammers have rigged their randomizer to manipulate you into trying just one more time.

Game is fun but developer now wants to track users

This game is a lot of fun, one of my favorite. I particularly like the Journey feature. It’s possible to play without ads in airplane mode or see ads in when airplane mode is off. Now that the new Apple update allows us to choose whether or not to allow tracking, I chose “Do Not Track” on my free apps including this one. The developer now seems to have blocked use of the game. If the developer wants to keep users who don’t want third party tracking, it should offer a paid version of the app. It can already see from the numerous reviews that a lot of people would like that option, and don’t like all the ads.

Can be fun, but there are problems

I wouldn’t say rigged, but it definitely gives you trouble for when you’re placing the blocks down. You might be on a roll, and then all of a sudden there are “no more moves.” And what the heck is up with the banner ads covering the screen? That must be new as I used to play this game and then decided it didn’t challenge me enough. I was bored now so I downloaded the app again, however, the banner ads taking up the screen WHILE playing is obnoxious. And when watching an ad, please don’t take us to the download page. Give us that X so we can close out and continue playing the game. Thanks!

      Not random

I have been reading the developers comments and they SAY it is all random but dont believe it!. It starts out with easy easy options to clear blocks or rows. Then the 3 shape combinations that pop up get harder. Some of the more difficult ones NEVER pop up in the beginning, like the ones on the diagonal. As your sore goes up the options get harder. Even when you have at least 3 options to clear a row or block the needed option does not pop up. I got 1217 once but since then I've only broken 1000 once. If it was totally random the harder options would pop up in the beginning at least some of the time. It’s rigged!

      Its a shame

I have checked out many of the wood puzzle games that are available and at first, Woodoku was the one I liked the most. I was especially fond of the “Journey” feature. But then the constant freeze up problems with the game forced me to simply give up in complete exasperation. I checked my devices first, of course, and reloaded the game several times and the exact same problem always returned. The tiles would freeze and become unresponsive to anything except a restart. This meant a loss of progress in a game that I might have spent awhile achieving. It isn’t my connection or any of my devices, it is an ignored defect in the Woodoku app itself. The app’s devs ought to be ashamed of themselves for not resolving this easy to fix defect

Great Game- PLEASE Offer Paid Version

I love this game and the different challenges. I love that it isn’t timed so you can strategize before placing the tile options. What I can’t stand is that there an ad after EVERY SINGLE GAME!! Once you’ve achieved the lower levels in the “Journey” the games in the upper levels can easily be over in just a few moves (not completed, but the game is over because you have to space for the remaining tiles). So you play less than a minute, then there’s an ad. Play 30 seconds, there’s another ad. Want to try again? Oh boy, there’s another ad, often the same one you’ve seen a dozen times in the past half hour. Now for the really frustrating part: every third or fourth ad crashes the game, requiring me to reload it. Within a week, I loaded the game more than 100 times. I finally deleted it and I wish there was a version I could buy to replace it. Free games are worth what they cost- absolutely nothing. As a bonus, you get a load of aggravation for no additional charge.
