G.I. Joe: War On Cobra PVP Wiki

This game is a blast! Feels like back in the 80’s collecting the figures! Gameplay is pretty straightforward once you understand what each character and vehicle brings to battle. And so many choices to play with as you can play with both GIJOE and COBRA forces!!! Opening the Battle Cargo you receive from victory is key to upgrading. I’ve had great luck thus far with the items I’ve gotten. I hope to see the game expand to different weather conditions(arctic and more water bases), optional bases to expand territories(Cobra Terror Drome, Joe Command Center) and the ability to station troops at said expansion outposts. Plus more of the characters we love! I’d love to see more solo mission scenarios. Snake Eyes’ “Silent Interlude” would be sweet! There are plenty of opportunities to pay for content but you don’t need to. Free play to get content is more than adequate and easy! Don’t hesitate to download this game and relive the excitement of collecting the figures and vehicles!!!

Update: So far it’s pretty cool I’m really digging it. After the initial loading screen issue I’ve been able to play a couple hours and there are some really neat little intricacies like for example I stumbled upon the feature where you can actually put a leader into a vehicle and they will attack while inside the vehicle and you can also use their ultimate attack while inside. Thought it was a pretty cool thing when I saw it. Haven’t played strategy games in a long time so not sure if this is a feature unique to this game or if it’s already been done before, but it impressed me. Not too excited about the resupply function, can’t figure out a way around it to avoid periods of inactivity so early in the game...

Been playing this game for about a week now. I’m skipping the whole “ Pay to win “ crap since you have to expect a fraction of that in EVERY mobile game. Nothing is hidden behind a pay-to-win wall here, you just need to play a lot. The problem with the game is that if these 2 things don’t get fixed, it won’t last long. First- There’s absolutely NO VOICE for any of the units in the game!! NONE!! It turns incredibly boring to play long sessions of the game when all you hear is machines building stuff. To have a GI. JOE game without any voice in it is simply sacrilege. Second- This is perhaps the most damaging flaw. Just as you can invade other players Bases and steal their resources they can do the same to you. The problem is that it doesn’t matter how much you upgrade your defenses and units, the enemy has done the same, which means you’ll always win and so will your enemy. I’ve literally never lost any of my invasions and I’ve lost every single one every time i get invaded. Why upgrade then? It’s simply meaningless and boring. I’ve quitted games that do the same because there’s simply no point in defending yourself when you’re going to lose every time. Feeling the urge to just erase this game as i write this.....

You only get 6 battles a day pretty much unless you waste your diamonds and even as you level up or build up HQ that doesn’t change. Just like other games like this, your only able to upgrade your buildings one at a time. As you level up they should at least allow 2. You can’t tell who your going to unlock in the next tier because the pictures are to vague. In the chat they say certain common non-offensive words can’t be used which makes it hard to communicate in your allies. Words like BUTTON get flagged. “I wish as you level up that they would allow you to upgrade at least 2 items at a time. All these games are the same that way” I tried putting that in and something in the second sentence got flagged. All in all it is fun but like all the games like this, I’ll get burnt out before I get much farther because it takes so long to progress. Plus all the things I listed above.

This game has a ton of potential. Been playing it for a few months. However, it has some glaring weaknesses that really hold it back from being a strong game. The highest of which is the matchmaking for PvP. Unless I pay for the rarer, more powerful characters and vehicles, there’s simply no way I can win PvP at this point. I’m level 17, I shouldn’t be matched against higher level players that I have no shot at beating. So in a way, I no longer have reason to play the game. And it’s going to take FOREVER to get to level 18 and beyond. Plus PvP can be terribly unbalanced. Defense units end up being far too powerful providing little chance at victory. Or, if I’m able to take out the missile silos, I can just take my air units and get a star or two. Base upgrades are a mixed bag. There’s no reason to upgrade some of the base components because they provide little value to upgrade other than increased HP. There’s no skill gained or reward other than EXP. Why wouldn’t additional power stations, or upgraded power stations provide more power during combat? How does more health for mines make sense? So yeah, the game has a ton of potential. I think an evaluation of PvP and base upgrades could put this game over the top.

Solid start but hope this will see more single player missions. One thing that really sticks out is that the Joes have more single characters while Cobra is more focused on B.A.T units. Weird as both parties have some great characters each faction can use. I grew up on the G.I. Joe line of action figures in the 80’s and loved all of the characters from both sides along with all of the great vehicles from a motorcycle to the huge aircraft carrier and hope this is just the start to seeing these again but in game form. My mind runs wild on what characters they can bring to this game and hope they will along with the many great vehicles that fueled my imagination when I was kid and can see doing the same for kids today. Yo Joe! Or Cobra! just have fun...and now you know, and knowing is half the battle, Yo Joe!

The Joe’s are a bit unpowered compared to Cobra, in my opinion. Don’t really see the point in spending really money, purchases don’t really seem to do anything for upgrading the characters at all. It is all a bit repetitive, but it is a game you can check on maybe once or twice a day. There are a few crashes and lockups here and there. Like a white screen in the event map that locks up the game, you have to exit and restart. I see potential in this game, especially if you can actually add extra characters as you go! Would love to see more Joes in the future like, Dusty, maybe a variant of Snake-Eyes with Timber or Mutt & Junkyard, where you can send the dogs out to attack ahead of you, like the Scrap-Iron drone... Overall it is a fun game, we shall see how far they take it...

This is a fun game for those who love G.I. Joe. The gameplay is a typical strategy game where you build a base and fight other users and PC bases. I love the cartoon style and generally like these kinds of strategy games but my god is this game slow if don’t plan on spending lots of money all the time. You only get one builder to upgrade your base with and it is impossible to play this game for more than 5 minutes without having to spend money to get diamonds to move the build along faster or open crates with. I am fine with that being part of the game but this game takes it to the extreme whereas you literally cannot do anything without buying diamonds. Wanna battle? That can be fun but once you win 4 crates your crate inventory is full and now you you have to wait for hours to open one crate unless of course you guessed it, you spend money for diamonds to move the opening time along faster. While you wait for something to finish upgrading or a crate to finish opening there is nothing really to do in the game since it takes hours to do such simple task so the replay value of this pretty poor IMO. It’s a shame, this game has what it takes to be fun and engaging.

I played it for about two months(little less.) The game economy is seriously out of whack. Always had too many jewels and for the first bit had too many credits until I hit the wall on pvp battles. Player vs player battles are matched up according to your player level(which is based on your base-not involved in the battle ,) and not your battle tier (which corresponds to your fighting force and is involved in the battle.) the game wants you to play battles you can't win and therefore can't progress without paying for better stuff. The survival events are ridiculously difficult unless you already have really good stuff. They give you the special people for maybe one or two battles but once you pass those you are done (usually.) of course the survival events make you think you can earn the special troops but after two months that really wasn't the case. Very disproportionate rewards earning in those "buyout boxes." I'll echo what others say... it's really a pay to play game. And I spent a little but it really has no effect. Stay away and save your money.

It’s not like I don’t expect it from a Free to Play game but the pay to win elements are way too aggressive. You’re limited on a lot of things by having to wait on cooldowns. Either base can only run a single upgrade at a time and there’s no option to increase this limit, even by paying real money. So when you’ve got tons of buildings with long cooldowns it draaaaaags. And you can only benefit from a handful of battles per day without paying either. The most aggravating though are the events where limited content is locked behind “loot boxes” so you have to grind the limited amount of free event currency you can get to gamble on getting the content you actually want. And if you don’t get it? Don’t worry it’s only $20 for another pull of the slot machine. Total bummer. I will give them credit that the art direction of the game is very good. I like seeing their take on classic GI Joe characters, but the aggressive money grabbing is too much. I’ve played plenty of games that are better and require less of a money investment over time.

I had fun with this game for a couple of months but then they rolled out a patch and now I feel like unless I spend money consistently I have reached my cap. You can play both sides but the side your clan is on is basically stunted because you can’t get support or give it. The pvp set up is really unfair. There are units in the game that are completely unbalanced making it one shot kills to your resources, your gems and your units. I gave the game time. I tried multiple strategies but unless I dump money in I might as well delete the game. Speaking of which even the rewards for the amount of $$$ you put in is not even worth it. In many cases the opening denomination is 4.99 for basically nothing. Lastly, and I have brought this up to their customer support, I have a visual bug in my game after one of the patches. Whenever I open a loot chest the background visuals become strobe like and very uneasy to look at. To sum up get this game if you don’t have a job and are just throwing away money because that is the only way to be good at the game.

I have been playing this game for about 4 months. At first, it was very frustrating to level up and to get ahead, the user most fork over money to get certain supplies or lottery based “character cards”. The past two weeks, there was an update that had extreme problems that makes this game more frustrating, though the slow leveling up was removed. I have last event coins, ~900 coins, that turned into old event coins to will be used if you have 1000 for the current event’s “Buyout Boxes”, that cost 300 of that current event coins. Support thought I was talking about the current event, even though I was having problems with the current too. I have lost diamonds when I reseted the event path at 43 diamonds. I decided to do this when I had 223. Now, i have 23 diamonds. Somehow 43 diamonds equals to 200 diamonds, which I lost. I am a GIJoe fan, since the 1980s and never had a great GIJoe games. This is not one of them. It is not what GIJoe is, and some designs of Joes and Cobras are not true to the originals 1980s. I am not satisfied with this game.

I really wanted to like this but it seems to have some issues. So many disappointing problems. The biggest is the incredibly long chest timers. I, like many, wont play and leave treasure on the table, so for me to attack I need to have an open chest slot. Only four chest slots and a four hour minimum open time for the weakest chest? So ok I guess I’ll rarely get on. So about ten minutes to attack to fill my treasure chest slots then wait a day To get the spoils. Next I thought they would have all the joes. Or at least all the favorites. Nope about 8 for the whole game. And that’s not the Doc I remember. Doesn’t matter...she’s worthless so I’ll never use her. The autobattles are the same 3 just recycled, including the annoying map that’s nothing but land mines. I just think this could be improved in many ways. But I’ll stick with it a while longer. Just once a day though.

I’ve played this game now for a while and I just gotta to say it.... It’s amazing! The game is so well made and the combat is really fun, although some units are a bit too op for the option to redeploy them. Regardless I really like the game and I’ve had a lot of fun with it..... when it work away. You see the problem here is the fact that the game crash, every single time. I can play the game more than 2mins before it crashes, it’s really annoying and ruins the experience. I don’t know why it crashes so much, either I open the shop, crates, troops menu, open map or go to battle the game crashes. I can’t stress enough the amount of time my game crash in the tutorial and in my first multiplayer battle. I almost lost because of time, I had to relog like 5 times to get over with...... Look if your looking for a good game that has potential, here’s one. But before you get it, just wait, wait that the developer fix and ajuste the game so it’s actually playable.... This note is not just for newcomers, but for devs too. Plz fix this issues, your game is amazing and I really want to give it a go but I just can’t!!!
